All I'm gonna say is...get the menudo!!! It's delicious!!!! Perfect for a hungover cure ;) I recommend ordering in advance and just pick it up!

5 stars! When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by the staff, who was friendly and accommodating. They were knowledgeable about what was on order and really helpful with making recommendations! The facilities are clean and well-furnished, and the Edison lights provide a nice atmosphere to the dining room. As for the food, there is a generous choice of sides of classic Americana and southern tastes. I tried the brisket burger and it was so good! The portions were gigantic; I could hardly finish my burger and had to take the remainder of my onion rings home. The onion rings taste like they're hand-breaded and fried here on the spot, and it is so fresh compared to store-bought. They cater as well, so I know who's got the food covered when my birthday rolls around!

Service with a smile, even though it was close to close. The ribs fell of the bone. And the sauce! What a wonderful flavor.

For size purposes, I added a photo with my hand. (I'm 6ft)

I ordered via Grubhub. The order was prepared in a timely manner. I picked it up from the window. The employee had on a mask. They also had signs saying that customers are required to wear masks as well. I got the loaded baked potato (w/o cheese, but it comes with cheese). I chose brisket as my meat. It was good. Not my grandpas bbq but it tastes good so far.

I stopped in here for dinner one evening after checking into my hotel by the Airport. I found this place on Yelp - and it sounded promising. I ordered a three meat combo - which comes with your choice of two sides. I selected Brisket, Beef Rib, and Jalapeño sausage, plus green beans and mashed potatoes with gravy, plus a bottle of water. The food came up in short order I sat down to eat - the BBQ was solid, but not mind blowingly outstanding - which is what I am expecting now when I visit Austin. The brisket was a bit on the dry side. The Beef Rib was tasty, but it was also a bit dry, you could tell it had been sitting for a while after cooking. The Jalapeño sausage and Green Beans were really good. In fact, the Green Beans were outstanding! I needed some extra gravy for the mashed potatoes, and they cheerfully doled out an extra side at no charge. The inside of the joint looks like a converted diner. Service was good. #DonnsBBQandCatering

I had a massive coupon for UberEats and found Donn's on the platform because I was craving bbq sides including a loaded baked potato. So, I ordered two huge baked potatoes, a quart of mac and cheese and a quart of creamed corn. Probably not the healthiest meal (s) but I make my own healthy food and buy treats. It was delivered quickly, while it was still hot. The corn was actually almost too hot! I give it four stars because I had low expectations and it met them just fine. It satisfied my baked potato craving and I'm a happy girl! The mac and cheese tastes like cafeteria mac and cheese, but sometimes I like it that way. The creamed corn was sweet and rich and soupy. The baked potatoes were huge, and hard to mess up, but could have used more toppings. This much food will last me for days, and was worth the deal from Uber, but I wouldn't have felt like I got my money's worth in quality if I paid for it. For the same amount of money, you could get slightly better food from bbq chains. I asked for no silverware and minimal packaging but they still wasted a bunch of paper and plastic by sending utensils, napkins, and wrapping the containers in plastic before placing them in bags. It's not too likely I'll be back for more, because there's better bbq in town, and I should just make my own baked potatoes, but if I find myself without potatoes in my kitchen I might come by for a baked potato again.

It was good but not great bbq. I've heard they used to be very good and a family member suggested we go there whilst visiting Austin. Simply put, they have a very good selection but everything, meat, we had was dry and not that flavorful. Sorry to say we won't be going back there again. Too many other better option for Texas bbq then here.

It was alright. I liked the brisket but I wish it was seasoned more. The mashed potatoes and mac and cheese were not that great, everything lacked some seasoning. Barbeque sauce was delicious though and came warm. For the price though it wasn't bad, but I probably wouldn't come back.

    Fajitas, somewhere.

I would not recommend you order fajitas because they are awful. Very dry with no fajita flavor. The fajitas themselves are very small and tough. What a waste. Yucky.

We were planning to try one of each taco but they had already run out of the pulled pork. They wrapped each taco individually in aluminum foil to keep it warm which was a nice touch, though they didn't bring out the red and green sauces until we asked for them. Brisket Taco ($9): The brisket was a bit dry but the slice was pretty thick and it paired well with the acidity of the pickles. Carne G Taco ($6): Super cheesy and heavy. The flavors weren't bad but I felt pretty gross after eating one and it left me really bloated.

This spot was close to my hotel, and on my departure day, I decided to have one last hit of Q. It's a big restaurant, and it appears to also be quite the music venue. When I went, a little on the early side for a Friday dinner, there was not a wait and I was sat immediately. My server was attentive, and got me in, fed, and back out in plenty of time to catch my already delayed flight. I ordered their 3 meat combo plate, which also came with two sides, and added on a piece of cornbread. I chose brisket of course, as well as turkey and sausage. The server recommended the serrano pepper spinach (like a creamed spinach) and onion rings, and I took those recs. The best of the three meats was the turkey. Not a good sign. It was moist and tender, though not particularly smokey. Even so, I enjoyed it more than the brisket and sausage, which I would have guessed the reverse when ordering. The brisket was on the dry side and kind of bland, it did not smack of being freshly carved. The Stubbs BBQ sauce helped me eat some of it... now I see why they are famous for their sauce. I had a couple bites of the sausage and pushed it aside, I didn't enjoy their recipe on that at all. It was cooked seemingly well, but the blend of spices and meat they use wasn't pleasant to me. The sides, the onion rings were very crispy which I like, but again... something in the batter. Maybe even the oil they were cooked in, I did not enjoy as much. The spinach was actually quite enjoyable, maybe even a little rich. I think if it were warmer, if might help milden out some of that. It was really thick. The cornbread wasn't worth the add-on. No sweetness or anything to make it memorable. Vessel for butter. The portion was massive, and I had leftover food, but did not take it... and that would have been the case even if I wasn't headed to the airport. I wouldn't recommend this spot.

When I tell you these ribs were a religious experience I am not embellishing. Full disclosure: I do not currently live in the south so I don't consider myself a BBQ connoisseur, but I did spend 4 years in the south and have sampled many BBQ joints in the meantime. Take this review as someone who really enjoys BBQ (and any slow cooked meat for that matter) but who could not list more than 10 BBQ restaurants they have eaten at in the last 5 years. So the beef ribs. Great texture, tender meat but still had a bite to it. Expertly seasoned so they were not wet with sauce but still moist. I would consider 1 beef rib a snack, 2 a small meal. I also tried the chopped brisket (brisket and burnt ends sitting in a soup of BBQ sauce). That was also delicious (and more reasonably priced), but I could have done with slightly less sauce. It really was like a soup and while the sauce was tasty, there was too much of it. I went later in the afternoon (around 2/2:30pm) and got their last two beef ribs so going earlier is better. My department is hosting a baby shower (at work), and our mom-to-be had one request: Franklin's BBQ. SO what mama wants, mama gets! Knowing my anxiety wasn't going to let me stand in the famous line, I placed a preorder and scheduled a pickup time. Best. Decision. Ever. When I arrived, I saw the long line outside and immediately felt validated. I drove around back and was thrilled to find dedicated parking for pre-order pickups. There was also a covered waiting area with seating, picnic tables with umbrellas, and a very organized check-in process. I gave them my name, and they started preparing my order while I waited. Inside, they have a great selection of merchandise, from hats, patches, keychains, and engraved YETIs to playing cards, trays, and even adorable baby onesies and toddler T-shirts. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions. While waiting, I mentioned I live in the Mueller neighborhood, and they told me about their new location (private event) nearby that I'd noticed while out walking. One of my favorite parts of the visit was chatting with another customer. Her family had flown from San Francisco to Houston, driven to Austin, spent around $2,000 on Franklin Barbecue, and planned to pack it in coolers with ice packs before driving back to Houston to catch their flight home. It was all for her brother's 40th birthday. That's when it really hit me how iconic this place is. People literally travel across the country just for this barbecue. When my order was ready, everything was packed perfectly with all the fixings. They even included a thoughtful little gift for the mom-to-be, which was such a sweet and unexpected touch. The hardest part was driving to work with that incredible smell filling my car. And then there was the brisket. Wow. It absolutely lived up to the hype. It was tender, juicy, perfectly smoky, and unquestionably the star of the meal. Every bite practically melted in your mouth. After finally tasting it for myself, I have to admit, it might actually be worth waiting in that famous line. We made our own sides to accommodate everyone, including gluten-free cornbread, regular cornbread, homemade mac and cheese, and fresh fruit cups. The barbecue was the centerpiece of a wonderful baby shower full of games and laughter, and it made our first-time mom's celebration even more special. If you've been avoiding Franklin because you don't want to stand in line, don't overlook the preorder option. It was easy, organized, and completely stress-free. I'll definitely be doing it this way again.

For fifteen people, the total cost was $425.69. This included delivery costs and taxes, but no tip. It consisted of three meats, two sides, and a dessert along with pickles, onions, bread, and BBQ sauce. There was also a set of utensils delivered, but plates were forgotten, but not a big deal. Brisket - This was definitely the best item eaten of the day. It was tender and juicy while adding the BBQ sauce giving that extra bite. The BBQ sauce was great regardless, a little bit of sweet and smoky flavor going on. Pulled Pork - This was another solid meat choice. I did not think it was as tender as the brisket, but it was still enjoyable especially with that BBQ sauce, which was key throughout the meal. Sausage - This was not bad. The snap on this threw me off a little, but it was not too bad. They were large links and had plenty of flavor. Gouda Mac & Cheese with Smoked Bacon - This was actually penne pasta with little pieces of the bacon. I actually preferred this pasta choice here. It really soaked up the cheese sauce. The sauce was not too over powerful and was just right. Beans with Smoked Bacon - These were not too bad. I thought they were a little liquidity, but the added bacon pieces definitely helped. Banana Pudding - This came in individual cups, which was nice. The pudding was thick with a little meringue or whipped cream present and a few wafer cookies on top. It was a satisfying ending to a very good meal. Will I go back? Yes.
