Went to this place not really having an expectation, and with that being said if there was an expectation it was exceeded! Place was nice and clean, the waitress was extremely nice and welcoming. My wife got the combo boil number 1 with crawfish and shrimp and was really impressed even outside the "ideal crawfish season". I got the crawfish smack pack and was surprisingly blown away how good it was. The smack sauce is a huge plus, and the rice and crawfish tail mixture was just great! My ONLY complaint and wouldn't say it's even a complaint is we got a dozen raw oysters and it didn't come with any horseradish which is always our preference BUT the oysters were very large and flavorful so it worked out. All around this is a place we will becoming a frequent visitor of AND they have a rewards system!! read more

Let me start by saying that my recent visit was at least my 3rd or 4th time visiting. The first couple of times I went during crawfish season and ordered crawfish and boiled seafood--all of which was EXCELLENT! Their crawfish is the best in the area in my opinion. I'll definitely be back when the season restarts. That being said, this review is about my most recent visit. I ordered the Patton's hot sausage po-boy, sausage gumbo and wings (Louisiana blend-crispy) [and 1 other item that we had no issues with]. I will say that none of the food was inedible but with each item there was a problem. First, the meat patty on the po-boy was NOT authentic Patton's hot sausage. If you're from Louisiana or iykyk that Patton's is a brand of hot sausage--the original for the hot sausage po-boy. It's recognizable at first sight by its distinctive color and taste. You can't call just any hot sausage po-boy Patton's. So I think the menu item just needs to be corrected to say "hot sausage po-boy". Calling it Patton's is false advertising--especially for those of us that expect authenticity when we see that name. The po-boy tasted decent. So, for someone who just wants a hot sausage po-boy it's a pretty good choice, but it just needs to be advertised correctly. As for the wings, the pros were that they were a great size and were the perfect amount of crispy. My only issue is that the seasoning was entirely too much. So much so that I could tell at first sight of them that they were heavily seasoned and not in a good way. I like my food well seasoned but these were overly seasoned and salty--pretty much making them inedible. If the seasoning was not so heavy the wings would have been perfect. Lastly, the sausage gumbo...again if you know what gumbo is supposed to taste like, you'd be disappointed. I am admittedly a gumbo snob so there aren't many gumbos that I approve of outside of what me and my family makes, but this one just missed the mark. A good surprise is that there was a decent amount of shrimp in it (actually more shrimp than sausage) but the roux wasn't good. Overall, I'd still visit the Crawfish Cafe again, I just know what orders to stick with and which to avoid in the future. Of the items I ordered during this visit, there is room for improvement if they accept their customer's constructive criticism and make changes. One last note is that their staff is always friendly and the food is served hot. read more

Tried giving this place another shot. First time I went I got a seafood boil and it was given to me dry. Not like the typical ones I'm use too and it being saucy. Tonight I ordered the fried shrimp basket. I didn't really like the taste of the fried shrimp. I tasted frozen. Can't explain it but l've had better. Maybe I need to just try the crawfish... otherwise some improvements could be made! Still wish them continued success. read more

Crawfish cafe has always been our go-to crawfish place during the season.. we usually go to the Hong Kong market location so this is our first time at the Pearland location. Our favorite crawfish flavor is always the grail and once again it did not disappoint! It was $10.99/lb when we went and the crawfishes were BIG! The oysters were also really good, fresh, and fat. Our fried shrimps were really yummy and crispy too. the only thing that didn't meet our expectations were the fries because they were always super crispy and fluffy at the hong kong location... however it was still a good side dish, and it could just be because of that day. Came to crawfish cafe and was pleasantly surprised with how great the crawfish was. I got a mix of crawfish and shrimp in the signature sauce and the flavors were amazing. We also tired the red beans and rice which was not great, something tasted very bitter so we let the staff know and they took it off the bill which was very nice. The ambiance is chill and laid back but the service was a little slow and left room for improvement. Overall, I would come back for the crawfish any day. read more

The restaurant is in a specialized "restaurant strip mall" which was modern, trendy, and very busy. The food was delicious and the atmosphere really fun so I understood why we had a 90 minute wait. We ordered the etouffe as a starter, followed by the crawfish and shrimp boil. Plenty of food for two, and really really tasty! Came in on Friday for lunch. The place wasn't busy. We were seated right away. Hostess was very friendly. We had the crawfish egg rolls, smack bowl, 2 lbs of crawfish with corn and potatoes and mac and cheese for the baby. The food was really good but the service is really bad. I visited this restaurant for the first time last night with my boyfriend. The restaurant is small, crowded and noisy. There is no bar, which is strange to me. The hostess immediately took us to a booth near the patio window. We ordered the Burbon lemonade. Nice because it had very little lemonade taste. We ordered boiled mussels, shrimp, sausage, cornbread and potatoes with lemon and garlic, with the hottest level of hot spices.
