    Crawfish ettoufee
    Jimmy S.

I had the crawfish ettoufee and it was good. There was a decent amount of crawfish on a soft bed of rice. The staff was very nice and attentive. The atmosphere is very much like a lively lunch vibe. It surprisingly got filled up even before noon. I'll have to come back to try the gator nuggets.

The food never disappoints. I try to eat at Pappadeaux every chance I get. The service is always excellent and the ambiance is always cozy and inviting.

Just like all other Pappadeaux, this location's foods were very tasty. We ordered off the lunch menu and the quantity of each plate was more like dinner. Table service was excellent, attentive without being intrusive. We would gladly eat at this location again.

First time here and definitely won't be the last. Stopped by with friends on a Monday evening and caught the late afternoon crowd as folks were seated around the bar or at the high tops. Our waiter brought over some menus and I legit wanted all the seafood. I ended up going with the Atlantic Salmon Alexander and enjoyed every bit of it. All in all, service was good, food was delicious and the setting was pretty comfortable.

I hadn't been to Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen in a while. The food was still really good and the quality definitely held up, but the vibe was just kind of meh this time around. It felt like they were trying to rush us out to turn the table over for the next guests. Even with that, I'd still go back again because the food was still solid.

    Crab Fingers with Dirty Rice

Was craving some Crab Fingers, and got them!! Lol also ordered the Roasted Oysters. I ordered the Live Maine Lobster. Everything was sooo good!! Something not pictured was the Crawfish. It was nice and clean and tasted really good. The restaurant was packed with a lot of out of towners and families. We were seated quickly and served quickly. Our waiter was very sweet and attentive. I only gave 4 stars because there was a waitress who was in the restroom when i was in there. She came out of her stall after i came out of mine and another young lady exited hers... she stood behind us fixing her hair, (we thought she was waiting for her turn to use the sink), she sneezed in her hand and walked out the bathroom. The other young lady at the sink asked me if i witnessed her not washing her hands and i stated yes, but im heading out right now. When we walked out, the waitress was already waiting on another table. I waived down one of the waitresses to let her know someone should have a conversation with her, but coincidentally, the same woman in the restroom washing her hands had already informed her. Thankfully that waitress went to alert the manager on duty but just know, that was very disgusting and i hope something was done about that. Other than that, good time at pappadeaux!

If you do not want a big meal order from the lunch special and you will still have leftovers. If you order the Pasta Madi Gras and like to dip your bread in the sauce, I recommend ordering an additional side of garlic bread. You cannot go wrong with Blackened Catfish with red beans and rice. If you are a regular the bar staff usually knows what you are sipping on then your drinks will be nice and right.

Family decided to have an early dinner here and we left stuffed with food for the next day. It's a very popular place in a few cities and when I come to Houston I always visit. They have a pretty large menu mostly consisting of seafood options but they are great. Service is always good and Joseph, our server, was excellent and continued to make sure everything was to our liking. We started off with some apps to share like their signature garlic bread, oyster and this shrimp and crab fondue which were all amazing. Our meals came and boy were the plates huge. I got the Pappadeaux platter which was a slew of fried seafood to share. My sister got pastas and salads and fried chicken and shrimp baskets. There were no complaints at the table except my daughter not liking her catfish and Joseph quickly working to accommodate her and her he buttered noodles with Parmesan without skipping a beat. We were just coming from the mall but I can see this being a nice date night spit as well where you can dress a bit fancy. We will be back next time we are in town

Fantastic Blackened Catfish & Dirty Rice !!!

My last 2 visits were Crawfish Étouffée with dirty rice on one dine-in and a takeout of 4 Stuffed Shrimp with dirty rice on Monday night. Both very delicious, high quality, fresh, juicy and so generous with ingredients. The first was full of crawfish cooked properly and a nicely, savory sauce with a savory dirty rice you could eat all by itself. The stuffed shrimp were truly the essence of outstanding and imo, the best shrimp dish I ever had in my life. Each piece was a little crispy outside and so succulent, creamy in feel like mashed potatoes or stuffing in texture you could say and so well-seasoned. The oniony, herby vibes were spot-on and the tenderness was top notch like the taste. The shrimp tail in the middle of each was very tasty and good quality shrimp with actual flavor, not the frozen types some places use. Very welcoming, friendly and attentive service on both visits too. I am not a fan of Pappas Bbq and find Pappas Burger to be good, not great. However, I always truly loved Pappadeaux, Pappasito's, Yia Yia Mary and Pappas Bros Steakhouse. I still need to try a dessert from here next time.

Unfortunately, the overall dining experience was disappointing due to both the service and the food quality. Our server was very slow throughout the evening. After ordering cocktails, it took approximately 20 minutes for them to arrive. We then ordered our meals... I had the burger and fries, while my girlfriend ordered the shrimp and grits. Both dishes were noticeably over salted. After finishing our meals, we waited an additional 15-20 minutes just to receive a dessert menu. Eventually, we decided not to wait any longer and went to Dessert Gallery down the street instead. While the atmosphere and appearance of the restaurant were excellent, the slow service and food issues negatively impacted the experience. Based on this visit, I would likely not return.

Just before closing, we had the place to ourselves and got to shoot the S with the owner who gave us its very cool history. 38 years in, and a few miles on his ledger, Marty still cranks out some fabulous food! The place was like walking into the 50's, with the old school metal tables and ample linoleum. I LOVE Louisiana cooking, and it couldn't have been more authentic. The only problem I had with my shrimp gumbo is the bowl was too small (actually a filling portion) and loaded with succulent, tender shrimp. Yummmmm! The cornbread was sublime and dipping it in the gumbo was killer! John had a Po Boy and said it was heavenly. The fries were obviously fresh cut and perfect. We finished with the bread pudding as we are both connoisseurs, and boy did it not disappoint. Thank You for yet another 5 star experience and a return visit will be on the horizon! Cheers, JimG

Inside it's a nice restaurant with an upscale feel to it. I ordered a house salad for $9 to start and the Pasta Rosa entree for another $28. The salad arrived first with a generous amount of romaine lettuce with diced tomatoes, cucumber, shredded carrots and chopped eggs on top. With my chosen ranch dressing it was a good tasting salad. The Pasta Rosa dish had sliced Parmesan strips on top of penne with shrimp, crawfish and sausage for the protein with mushrooms and a tomato cream sauce. This meal initially tricked me. My first impression was that while there was plenty of protein the taste of the tomato cream sauce was lacking some flavor. I expected more. However as I kept eating and getting beyond the top layer of the food the flavor increased significantly. I think that the proteins caused the sauce in the lower half of the dish to create more punch. This dish got better and better and I changed my mind.
