They are now open for breakfast. We haven't had breakfast here, but had lunch here yesterday. The food was fresh, all made in their kitchen, authentic, and delicious. Was looking for fried oyster po-boys to go at night. This had them but were a bit expensive compared to other places. On the upside you could get beer or drinks from the bar. Excited to have this place so close to my office! Tried it one week after they opened. I ordered fried platter (2 pc catfish, 3 shrimp & two sides $6.99) and the seasoning was SO good! Great prices too. Cole slaw was good and soggy, cabbage tasted fresh! The green beans were freshly sautéed and I could tell by the great taste! Why don't restaurants advertise when they have boiled crawfish even though they serve it? We wanted crawfish but after not seeing it on the menu, ordered something else and then saw other patrons ordering boiled crawfish. Please put a sign up or add it to the menu! So we came in after exploring the various shops and booth for La Porte Main Trade Days because the Mexican food restaurant next door was packed to the brim. I immediately noticed that most of their menu was fried so unfortunately, we ordered the catfish plates with a side of green beans and red beans and rice. The catfish was pretty nice and flavorful but the breading was not crispy at all but mushy and flavorless like unseasoned bread crumbs. Our red beans and rice were cooked fresh but had a film on them from sitting too long under a heat lamp and our green beans were the unsalted kind...straight from a can. I did like how you could get the catfish either blackened, grilled or fried and that our combos were only 6.99$ Probably not somewhere I'd come back to often but maybe when I'm craving catfish and Sudie's is packed. I ordered red snapper over rice which was ok, the grilled jumbo shrimp as an add on were disappointing because they were quite small (about half the sz of our previous jumbo fried shrimp) and not worth $5.99 extra. The corn on the cob side was a small corn cob for $3.99 and tasted terrible. I would not order the lobster bisque again. Before gratuity our meal was almost $73. Some definite winners but overall this visit was a disappointment hence the 3 star rating. read more

Oh my goodness! This restaurant is amazing. We recently moved back to the area, and NOLA Seafood is new to us. Located in "downtown " La Porte, it is easy to find and has moderate parking. As we entered, I was pleased to observe the cleanliness of the restaurant, and the atmosphere, including decor and layout. The servers are attentive and friendly. Our daughter is in the same industry, so I have raised the bar high. We ordered a 5-piece order of fried catfish, with fries and coleslaw, to share. The meal also had a tartar sauce with a smooth texture and a little "bite" to it. A piece of garlic toast also was very tasty. The catfish was breaded and cooked absolutely perfect! The coleslaw did not taste like it came from "a bucket. ". The fries were pleasantly seasoned and delicious. A perfect "go to" for seafood in a town where we first lived 34 years ago. We had lunch here yesterday. It took a while to get seated, employees ignored us. We ordered our food and it finally came out, lukewarm. I ordered fried shrimp and my two sides were hush puppies and onion rings. I got 4 hush puppies and 3 onion rings that were so undercooked I could not eat them. My husband got the shrimp trio and the shrimp were so small. Not worth the price. We've ate here in the past and it was ok but not yesterday. This restaurant was recommended to me yesterday for lunch by a La Porte resident. Ordered a catfish/shrimp combo with a side of onion rings. The food was too hot to eat when it came, but delicious. All made at the restaurant. Service was quick and efficient. There are at least a dozen other items on them menu that I would like to try (especially the gumbo). Very inexpensive for what you get. I live in Houston, so LaPorte is a bit of a drive, but I'll be headed back to this Seafood Kitchen whenever I get a chance. Highly recommended. read more

This place was terrible. We ordered pasta, crawfish, and jalepeno cheese balls. The crawfish we ordered was spicy. VERY SPICY. NO JUICE. WASTE! If you don't like too much spice, get mild. The only reason I'm giving any stars is because the food was just ok. The service was terrible. I called ahead for a party of 8 adults and 2 children. The girl who took my reservation seemed like she had no clue what to say on the phone so I had to help her out by informing her of everything I thought was necessary for them to know ahead of time, including we were interested in crawfish. When I arrived I told one of the host that I had placed a call ahead party and she litteraly just stared at me. Didn't say hi or anything after I told her what I was here for. It was an awkward greeting to say the least. After I sat down and waited for the rest of my party to arrive we ordered waters, since it was BYOB. The server spilt the water on my entire left side of my body, over my brand new phone and my keys! They came to the table with dirty, clearly used rags to wipe the table top down. Then they mopped up the floor and apologized. Accidents happen so, no biggie. I'm just glad my phone and keys work. We started to place our order for crawfish and was told they were out. Then she said they only had 3lbs left and someone just ordered the entire thing. My initial reaction was, if I called for a party of 10 and ask if they have crawfish my reply would go something like yes, however we only have a small amount left and it may not be enough for your entire party. Hence that's the reason we wanted to go there to begin with. Again we were disappointed but we tried to make the best of the night. During our order placing I had to repeat myself 3 times and then verify for the server 2 times what I wanted. After we finished ordering about 15 minutes later she came back asking questions about what everyone wanted. It took 15 minutes to realize you were not sure what we ordered? After she left she came back 5 minutes later and explained how she was out of some additional items, other than the crawfish. Then the food came out. The mashed potatoes were like soup. We ordered 2 specific plates and we're given an upcharge that I did not ask for on both plates. Someone else ordered a cup of soup and was given a bowl. We really don't like to waste food and we also don't like being charged for things we didn't ask for. After I pointed this out they fixed it but the girl said she thought we ordered what she gave us. Well, we verified numerous times with her. I'm not sure how she got it wrong? Catfish, gumbo, boudan balls, crab balls, and shrimp fettuccine were all very good. The jambalaya was very salty and mashed potatoes were like soup. Overall, the food is decent but the service is not. I know they are a new location and it is hard for new restaurants to do well when the first open because of service issues.
