The onion rings are excellent, they are big juicy & crunchy. I had the combo shrimp/oyster poor boy, my dad had the shrimp fettuccini. Both were excellent. Menu's attached to this review on 3/8/23

I ordered for pick up at the bar and let me start the waiter or who took my order was very kind and patient I was very indecisive on what I wanted! The fried okra was to perfection! The kids popcorn shrimp my picky 6 yr old didn't leave a bite left, the seafood jambalaya rice was delicious!!! I wished I would have gotten that it came with shrimp, mussels, bacon, and sausage, the sampler ettouffe was alright I wished it would have have half of the sauce but came with that delish bread overall it was great I'll try again another time!

Red beans and Red Beans & Rice with Sausage

No flavoring, maybe try fried fish next time instead of red beans in rice that looked like the sausage was regular not even andouille . Cajun pasta was bland as well.

Ambiance nice and clean. Service was fine. Server was a little odd but kind and did do alright. Food was ok. The etouffe was more like a gumbo but salty and lacked flavor. The nachos were sloppy and bland. Shrimp and cheese that's what it tasted like. Nothing was seasoned. We were highly disappointed that we spent nearly $35 for trash.

You like seafood? Well come here and get some! Wow I had the seafood gumbo, and It was so delicious! It had the best taste ever. They had a variety of things available, but I always judge a Cajun place by there gumbo, if you can get the gumbo right then I know the rest is going to be good. It is hard to do gumbo right! This place was on point! I'll be back soon!

I can say as a local resident in la Porte , this is my favorite restaurant in my little town ! The taste of food is perfect ! Service has been very welcoming and has a nice NOLA vibe in the place ! ... I never pass up the seafood gumbo every time I come here !

Food is nice.. the servers are very attentive. I've been here twice and I had a good experience both times.

    Looks good!

Excited to have this place so close to my office! Tried it one week after they opened. I ordered fried platter (2 pc catfish, 3 shrimp & two sides $6.99) and the seasoning was SO good! Great prices too. Cole slaw was good and soggy, cabbage tasted fresh! The green beans were freshly sautéed and I could tell by the great taste! They have a small stage area for live music in the future. Looking forward to tasting more of their menu. Staff was great too

Why don't restaurants advertise when they have boiled crawfish even though they serve it? We wanted crawfish but after not seeing it on the menu, ordered something else and then saw other patrons ordering boiled crawfish. Please put a sign up or add it to the menu! So we came in after exploring the various shops and booth for La Porte Main Trade Days because the Mexican food restaurant next door was packed to the brim. I immediately noticed that most of their menu was fried so unfortunately, we ordered the catfish plates with a side of green beans and red beans and rice. The catfish was pretty nice and flavorful but the breading was not crispy at all but mushy and flavorless like unseasoned bread crumbs. Our red beans and rice were cooked fresh but had a film on them from sitting too long under a heat lamp and our green beans were the unsalted kind...straight from a can. I did like how you could get the catfish either blackened, grilled or fried and that our combos were only 6.99$ Probably not somewhere I'd come back to often but maybe when I'm craving catfish and Sudie's is packed. Service was slowish but the young man who helped us was friendly and we didn't wait too long for refills or the check.

    Shrimp Creole

First visit: The shrimp and catfish, fries were terrific. The boudin was excellent. The only downside was the coleslaw (watery and not very tasty. 2nd visit: Boudin again was great. Onions rings were very good not greasy. I ordered red snapper over rice which was ok, the grilled jumbo shrimp as an add on were disappointing because they were quite small (about half the sz of our previous jumbo fried shrimp) and not worth $5.99 extra. The corn on the cob side was a small corn cob for $3.99 and tasted terrible. I would not order the lobster bisque again. Before gratuity our meal was almost $73. Some definite winners but overall this visit was a disappointment hence the 3 star rating.

I'd heard such good things about this place from locals, particularly someone at a church nearby…read morewhere we were visiting, so we were excited to swing by and check out one of the supposed best places in La Porte. Unfortunately, our experience was a complete miss. Parking here is awkward. There's not a proper lot, more of a driveway with grass nearby and people seem to haphazardly park with the idea that they'll be getting out in an exact order where they can just drive forward, over a curb, and exit. For those of us in smaller cars, that isn't really an option. The interior is well decorated to give an upscale feel. On a Saturday evening, they had a singer in a sequin dress and a beautiful voice that made it sound like you were listening to the kind of songs you'd hear on Sunny 99.1 or on Delilah's request show, but live. Right off the bat, we had issues with the drink orders. Items were missing, they were serving tea to people who ordered soda, sweet tea to people who ordered unsweet, etc. The worst was a drink from the bar that came out incorrectly THREE times. After the third time, the waiter offered to comp her something else. My friend took the waiter's offer and ordered a soft drink, but the bartender brought out the drink a fourth time anyway. When she got the bill, the soft drink was charged and the fourth take on the alcoholic beverage, which she never drank, was "comped" after she'd already told them she didn't want it anymore. The waiter dared defend what happened, which I felt was in poor taste since HE was the one who offered to get her something else at no charge. The entrees took forever to come out. We don't know what happened, but we were waiting almost an hour for the food. I was ready to get the hell out of there, and had it just been my wife and me, we probably would have. Unfortunately, we were in a bigger group and we all had long drives home, so we didn't want to be rude. The food was completely forgettable. I don't know of anyone who had anything good to say about what they got. My pork belly was decently seasoned and cooked through, but not quite well enough cooked to give the kind of sizzle and texture that made it worthwhile. The portions were also so small that I wasn't satisfied. My wife ordered the fish and chips. Instead of a whitefish or catfish, they served her fried salmon. The flavor and texture was... subpar... at best, and hardly the kind of thing you'd expect when ordering Fish & Chips in the south. Rather than wait another 30 minutes for a replacement entree, and probably get it wrong given how they were handling the drink orders, she powered it down and we mutually decided that we'd never bother to stop by this place ever again.

The seafood was decent, nothing that blew me away though. We ordered the grilled fish and some appetizers; flavors were okay but a bit underwhelming for the price point. Service was friendly but a little slow considering it wasn't even that packed. The bar area was fun and lively which was a plus. Luckily, it was somewhat on the way back so we decided to give it a try. Rolling through San Leon made us question if we were going to the right place. It didn't feel lively and definitely was not giving 'Coastal Chic', like how Pier 6 has been described. Upon arrival, it was a totally different vibe and 'Coastal Chic' is a fitting description for the place. We were seated right away and they offered a high chair for our little one. We started out with fresh oysters and a flight of margaritas. If you're an oyster fan, it's worth getting the oysters. Super fresh. The flight presentation was so beautiful. My husband and I had fun trying the different margaritas. The blue one was coconut flavored. It reminded me of a piña colada but with tequila. We were surprised that we liked this one. The pink one was watermelon flavored. We could taste the smokiness of the mezcal in it. This was a nice, not sweet drink. The white one was their classic take on margarita. We thought this one was too sweet for our taste buds. The orange one was mango and I think chamoy. This reminded me of the Mexican candy Lucas - sweet and tangy. All drinks were finished. LOL Now to the main dishes. My husband had the Mahi Mahi and said the fish was fresh and had a good amount of seasoning on it. The risotto and mushroom was a solid pairing with it. He cleared the dish. I had the tomato salad and clam chowder. Their tomato salad was so good. It was light and refreshing. I love that there were dill and capers too. Their clam chowder is definitely different compared to others I've had. The soup was more like a light creamy broth. The clam is served whole. Oyster crackers were also in it vs served on the side. Even though it was different, I didn't mind it and killed everything. Service was as expected for the time of day. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would make the trip to the San Leon area again. A few notes: Pier 6 does have a kids menu and there's changing table in the restroom, along with some diapers. This place is in between Kemah and Galveston. It's about 15 minutes drive from Kemah and 25-30 minutes drive from Galveston.
