Amazing breakfast. Our group loved the crab cake eggs Benedict and the Hungry Boy aka "fat bastard".

This was my second visit to this restaurant, and unfortunately, it was my second disappointing experience with the service. My partner and I stopped in looking forward to a nice breakfast and a few mimosas. We sat at the bar and were served by Laurie. She brought our first round of drinks, took our food order, and our meals arrived shortly after. However, once our food came out, our glasses were empty, and despite several opportunities to check on us, Laurie repeatedly walked by without acknowledging us or asking if we needed anything. I understand restaurants get busy, but I waited about 10 minutes hoping for a refill or even a quick check-in, and neither happened. As someone who enjoys having something to drink with my meal--even if it's just water--it made for a frustrating dining experience. Eventually, I asked for the check and boxed up my waffle because I no longer felt comfortable staying. What made the experience more disappointing was that Laurie appeared to be spending plenty of time chatting with other customers while we felt completely overlooked. I don't know if our age played a role, but it certainly felt that way. There's a common assumption that younger customers don't tip well, but I always take care of servers who provide good service. As someone born and raised on Cape Cod, it's disappointing to have had two negative experiences at a local establishment I wanted to enjoy. Most breakfast spots and bars in the area are known for their welcoming atmosphere and attentive service. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I left feeling ignored, unwelcome, and unlikely to return. read more

The restaurant has a local vibe with an extensive and affordable menu. The staff are very attentive and friendly. You can see they have developed a good relationship with their repeat customers. The Crow's Nest has home fries at the bottom and is layered by sausage links, scrambled eggs and melted cheese with sausage gravy. The portions are very generous and filling. Thought we would give them another try and here is what we found. They are now getting bigger and hiring and not controlling quality. Walked in and she asked about coffee - I drink water and my companion had coffee already so she also asked for water. She gives me water and companion coffee- ok one mistake - we order breakfast and my plate is delivered with bacon. I said nothing a didn't eat it. Unfortunately we won't be returning. The woman from 2 years ago seems to be either family or part owner but now she reds a proper manager to teach these folks or hire proper servers. read more

Went to the Crazy Rooster while we were in Dennis on vacation! Staff were friendly and service was prompt! We got the crab cake Benedict and it was SO good! The crab cakes were so thick and hearty and well-seasoned. Definitely going to have to come back next time I'm on the Cape! read more

Crazy Rooster is a casual breakfast and lunch place which caters to locals and out of town people visiting Cape Cod. We arrived a little before 8 and there were just a few local groups having breakfast. We were seated promptly and the server took our drink orders. My wife had the egg and Feta Pita. Huge and very tasty. I had the Western Omlette. It was a three egg omlette stuffed with ham, peppers and onions. The hash browns were also quite good. We love to try new places and so we picked the crazy rooster today for breakfast. The hostess greeted us welcomingly and promptly and lead to a both where a cheerful waiter immediately came over and took our breakfast drink order and delivered a large ice water without asking. All through the meal he was attentive and thoughtful. The food on the other hand was dreadful. My gal ordered the classic benny - it came with fried eggs over medium - no runny yolk, and "home fries" that were close to boiled mash potatoes with no seasoning or taste. My vegetable omelet that I ordered as a scramble came as an omelet with the same dreadful home fires and the vegetables were raw! We did not enjoy it at all. Furthermore, upon leaving we both had that feeling of ...wow we should not have eaten this. Sorry for the bad review and may be just a bad day for the cook as others seemed to have loved the place, but we will not be back. read more

Breakfast & Lunch only. Varied choices. Ted, owner & chef, customizes my breakfast when I ask for "wiggly" bacon (non-crisp) & burnt home fries). Once & awhile he adds an extra egg for FREE! Irregardless of these perks, we drive 20 min when I have other options 5 & 10 min away. The food is delicious & the service is prompt. Well ... u say it's only breakfast & lunch, how different can it be? How about u try it & taste test for yourself! BTW, u are surrounded by ROOSTERS everywhere but they don't cocka-doodle-doo at least not yet! read more

Visit: Late October 2022. We were out of towners in town well past the normal tourist season. And that is why we felt so lucky. Wonderful service, full of charm and happiness. Our server who may have been one of the owners, or at least somebody who has been there forever, was fantastic. It's always nice to have a friendly person serving you a meal. I wish I could remember what both of us had but I remember both of us saying that we really loved our entrée. Comfort food at its best !! We liked it so much we came back for breakfast the next day. Friendly staff and good service. My waitress was covering many tables including a large group but was not missing an occasion to check on me. The sandwich I had was disappointing. I had a Texas omelet melt. I'm just an okay cook. I could have done one better! However, it's not expensive and that's good. The ambiance is one that you would expect from a dinner. I went in with high expectations based on other people's review. Maybe my hopes were too high or I picked the wrong dish. I would go back for a drink as they have a nice bar area. Because for value, warmth (people and room temp), and food quality, this rooster is crowing - and not at dawn alone! Our affable and timely server Janene loved hearing my wife and me were first timers. And as I tried my wife's lively Aperol Spritzer, I concluded this was one comfy Rooster! Slightly famished, I began with their Everything Bagel - and every bite was pure Brooklyn! Excellente. Then after perusing a menu wider than a flounder - with Breakfast All Day!, we opted to share the Western Omelet (with mushrooms and cheddar added). And without even asking, Chef Teddy, the co-owner, sent out this overgenerous gathering of ham, red pepper, and diced onion onto two plates! So thick and loaded with veggies and ham chunks with nearby his signature home fries, who wouldn't crow? (Next time we're adding onions, too.) Meanwhile, Janene was dishing robust coffee and we were convinced: we gotta get back here! So, if you relish really good diner fare in a rustic Norman Rockwell setting with dedicated servers, drop in. You'll say, "This Rooster ain't Crazy; he just pleases his guests! My family and I came in for a late breakfast/brunch, and we were not disappointed. The food and service were excellent from top to bottom. The coffee was fresh, the home fries were thin cut, perfectly cooked and delicious. I ordered the Irish Benny, and the eggs were poached perfectly. There were a variety of reasonably priced options for my 7 year old and my 2 year old children. Overall, the prices were very reasonable, especially for the area, and the food was very good. Went here today with my son on the recommendation of a friend. Very clean place and cozy decor inside. There's a bar area to the right and restaurant middle and left. Our waitress was very busy but very friendly and very competent. Good menu with all of the normal breakfast stuff (omelets, Benedicts, various eggs, various pancakes, etc). Food was fresh and tasty. Been here twice this season. Both times very busy but never had to wait. A lot of locals, you can just tell. First time, food came a little quicker. Second time, food took about 45 mins to arrive for 2 of us. They ran out of steak and eggs which apparently is very popular. Servers are very efficient. Host is super nice. Highly recommended! I was very pleasantly surprised at the wonderful brunch I had with my older parents and husband at the Crazy Rooster. Service was prompt and friendly and the food was excellent! I enjoyed a veggie omelette with feta with potatoes and toast, my husband and dad had a burger that was properly cooked to order (medium rare) and had the best, really crunchy fries I've had on this trip to the Cape. My mom also enjoyed the clam chowder. For an affordable, casual meal that's delicious and friendly, I will definitely be back to the Crazy Rooster! read more
