This is the best food I've had on the cape, and it's not close. We hope to see them reopen soon.

It's been a month since we were on the Cape. Unable to get reservations last year, I plotted ahead this year. This is a really appealing, intimate, mom and pop (and summer help waitress) place. The hostess/ front of house boss, who was operating from the bar of this 10-12 table location, was gracious and endearing (in the way that an almost overbearing host can be- that meant as a compliment). The drinks took a minute, my fiancé's salad needed blue cheese brought out as it was left off (single most off-putting thing: the waitress, I suspect language mastery being the cause of this rather than malice or willful deceit, flat out told her that blue cheese did not come with the wedge salad...but when boss lady at the bar was asked, this was quickly corrected), there was a heavy does of reggae music. All of this less than optimal. The food was very good, though I can't remember off the top of my head what I had (it's been a month). Nor did I take pics: it seemed like it'd detract from the experience. There weren't any complaints about the food from others. (So I went back and looked at the menu: potstickers as an app- pretty good; baked local seafood as the main- good, but it is what it is in that not a ton of nuance added so as to let the seafood do the talking. The portion was decent for the price. I didn't leave stuffed, but for $38, very reasonable.) All in all, the first visit merits a second visit next year (as the website says they are temporarily closed to seek new management). read more

This review is from a few months ago** We ordered this to go... The food lacked a bit. I found the fried green tomato salad needing salt and more flavored. The calamari was a bit soggy. We found the burger to be over done and not medium. The pear flatbread was the best thing we ordered. Cape cod salad was actually very good too. I can't speak to the actual restaurant because we ordered to go. Perhaps that's why the food wasn't as great as I read about. We will try again next summer when we return. read more

Small but pleasant restaurant with both locals and tourists dining. Very friendly service and well prepared food made for a successful dinner. Rolls are delicious. We shared the fried green tomato caprese, a bowl of clam chowder, and a nice scallops ( the most scallops in a single order I've seen) in a lite orange marmalade sauce. Too full for dessert but the choices looked nice. Plan ahead with a reservation because it's a small restaurant. A few outdoor tables too but view is parking lot and Rte 28. Enjoy! read more

While on the cape for a competition we found online that this restaurant had many gluten-free options. We got a table online since they can be quite busy for reservations. The small bistro ambience was very inviting, though the music was very off the vibe with much more of a Caribbean pop music remix that kind of threw off the experience. We found that the options for gluten-free were good. Proportions were ginormous for the entrées and appetizer as well. I expected a much smaller wedge salad, and was pleasantly surprised by the size. Overall flavors were very good and the clam chowder was well done. Moving to desert, the tort was great for my partner, but the crème brûlée was the shallowest I have ever seen. Not a lot of substance to compare with the size of the entrée. Overall, the bistro is a wonderful place to stop for gluten-free options at a high quality. read more

I like the journey that this spot has taken. And I really like the new layout and design of the space. Excellent for very small groups, couples, and single diners looking for a bar spot. The food was tasty. Great ideas, well plated, but perhaps a little lacking in execution. I have only been here once and I do plan on returning to try some of the Caribbean flavors that look promising. This place has all the potential to become a hidden gem on the Cape. Service for me was painfully slow. It could have been the day of the week or unseen circumstance. Other tables seemed to be getting quick service, and the bar seemed to be on top of things, so I'll chalk it up to an off night for our waitress. I got the Brussels sprouts appetizer (very good), the swordfish entree (rather dry with a sauce that was bland), and the bread pudding dessert (which was average). I do have high hopes for this place and want to see them succeed. Perhaps I'll try again next year. read more

The food was good and about met the prices they charge. The service was excellent (there was only one other table occupied), so we got a waitress to ourselves. The place is very small, in one room with a bar and maybe 10 tables. The owner greets you from a seat at the back of the bar, so it is a little disorienting when you first enter. The best thing we had was the brussel sprout appetizer. The sprouts were crispy with a sweet and spicy sauce. The butternut squash raviolis were swimming in a white cheese sauce. The dessert menu only offered standard dessert offerings, nothing special. read more

We had a wonderful dinner at 608 Bistro! Started off with wine which were both delightful and skipped appetizers due to a very late lunch. Dinner entrees BBQ Jerk chicken was absolutely fantastic!! I swapped the rise for mashed potatoes and it came with a nice side of green bean and carrot. I was thrilled with the flavor. I have to give the restaurant a 4 star vs 5 star because my husband didn't love his entree selection as much as I did! Service was attentive and friendly and we appreciated the overall vibe of the small but quaint restaurant. I will look forward to my next visit. read more

First impressions mean everything I had a disappointing experience at 908 Bistro. After a long 3-hour drive, I arrived at 8:30 PM, only to be met with a cold reception. The bartender stared at me without saying a word, so I politely asked for a menu. Instead of responding to me directly, he turned to an older waitress with blonde hair and asked if they were still serving food. She rudely replied, "We're closed!" without even looking at me. Her tone was unwelcoming and uncomfortable. Having worked in the restaurant industry myself, I know the importance of being polite and considerate. I would have understood if the kitchen was closing, but a simple, courteous response like, "I'm sorry, sir, our kitchen is closed, but please check out our menu and come back when we're open," would have made all the difference. Unfortunately, there was no such courtesy. The bistro had only one occupied table and an empty bar, which speaks volumes. I ended up walking next door to Gerardi's Cafe, where I was greeted warmly by a friendly host and seated immediately, despite how busy they were. It's a shame because 908 Bistro is in a great location, but with service like this, it's hard to imagine it thriving. The unpleasant experience left a sour taste, and I sincerely hope that someone with more experience and a focus on customer service takes over this spot before it's too late. I also hope the miserable old blonde waitress who was having a nicotine withdrawal got a chance to have her cigarette. read more

Cape Cod 4 stars which equals a "mainland" 3 star rating. The restaurant has an ambitious menu, blending textures and flavors. The dishes seem to fall a little short. The room is comfortable but the service is slow. read more

What an adorable little bistro. I had the steak tips which were delicious. Cooked to perfection served with whipped potatoes and fresh cooked veggies! My fiancé had cajun shrimp served over pasta. We both were very satisfied with our meals. The appetizers look amazing and can't wait to come back and try some! Wait staff is so friendly and very attentive. I am not a big eater and she was concerned I did not like my meal. That is great service! I loved my meal! Ate the rest for lunch the next day. My wife and I decided to give 908 Bistro a try, we were hesitant because it is a very small place but seats about 30 or so including the bar. We had a reservation for 7:15 and when we arrived it took a bit until we were acknowledged as the small team was very busy. Once we got seated our server came over to us shortly, she was delightful, very friendly and had a great sense of humor. We ordered a wedge salad and followed it up with a piece of salmon over Parmesan risotto and Portuguese stew. The food was good quality overall no complaints and they allowed us to go off the prescribed menu. The atmosphere is fine nothing posh but clean and comfortable. My only caution is to be patient, there was one server and the bartender to cater to approximately 30 people. They did a great job overall and we had a good experience. We will go back!! read more

We had wanted to dine here since it opened last year but it was always busy every time we tried. That's usually a good first sign. Upon arrival we were promptly greeted by a friendly host that brought us right over to a table for two. Our server was just as nice and started us off with drinks and brought back warm ciabatta rolls and butter. She liked our drink choice, two Apple Cider Margaritas which were delicious! The Fried Calamari appetizer was perfectly fried, with fried pickles and spicy aioli dip. The fried pickles were a nice take on an old classic. For main courses she had the Cajun Shrimp Fettuccini Alfredo and I had Grilled Swordfish on Parmesan Risotto. Both dishes were excellent and delicious. Prices are reasonable for high quality and quantity food. Total bill with drinks came to $100 before tip. 908 Bistro is owned and operated by the chef and his wife (host that greeted us). We love this since we enjoy supporting local businesses. They seem to be off to a great start and we will definitely be back again as we live in the local area. read more

My husband and I really enjoyed this place! It's hard to find good food on the cape and this small bistro just opened. It's a tiny restaurant, with a nice ambience. We got the NY strip and the salmon, both were delicious! Our server was wonderful and very kind, despite being busy! Definitely worth checking this place out. read more

We had a reservation made for a Saturday night for our wedding anniversary. We showed up to the restaurant to find out they were closed. I called and was told they had trouble with staff and they weren't going to be open for the night. They then apologized and offered me a reservation the following Tuesday. Unbelievable. read more

Been hoping to get here for a little while now..girls trip seemed perfect to try especially since my friend has a gluten free diet to adhere to and that can be so very challenging while dining out...first off we learned an order of fried clams can be made in a GF way and fried in separate oil...they were just delicious, crunchy, light. I think my friend Kathy said...you dont know how happy I am right now...that was awesome...we had the most amazing server..never caught her name but she couldn't have been more accommodating and informative...they offer an early bird special between 4 and 6 with many options along with the addition of salad or chowder to start along with their incredibly interesting menu to choose from..chowder was flavorful and very creamy...warm rolls served also...yummy...we all had something different ..steak tips, BBQ Ribs, pork tenderloin and chicken..and as pedestrian as that may sound...the dinners were perfectly cooked with accompanying lovely sauces, homemade whipped potatoes and veggies which were cooked exactly how they should be...crunchy not soft and seasoned well...something simple done with a skilled hand is perfection...desserts...I am a dessert snob..I love to bake and I now only order dessert if they are made in house..and they are here...we had the unfried ice cream, the key lime pie and the smores in a jar...well...those were all stellar...my friend could have the unfried ice cream as it's made in a GF style..so nice to be able.to see her order food that isn't just salad and a bunless burger..so happy for the owners here that are pouring their hearts and souls into a fabulous new dining destination for the Yarmouth area...they have also done a beautiful job with the redesign and decor..cozy and inviting..can not wait to return...open Tuesday thru Saturday for dinner...get here and compliment the chef...he is rocking this place read more

This is an excellent choice, and I live here year round, def need a reservation, our waitstaff led by Jess was courteous, efficient and friendly. Jess had full knowledge of the dishes, the four of us had Caesar salads, then steak tips, baby back ribs, short ribs, and I had the jerk chicken, desserts were crème brûlée and key lime pie. We were all pleased with our meals, and our attention from Jess, would definitely return. Just understand, it's a small venue bistro atmosphere, which is part of the Cape Cod charm. read more

A fabulous, intimate, understated dining experience. Small setting focused solely on the food, its presentation, and enjoyment. If I had the pleasant service at the bar with my delicious cocktail and chowder, and never sampled the Portuguese Fish Stew I would have been happy. Nice to see a new place open up in the neighborhood. We ended up there after hanging at Skull Island watching tourist. The pizza place closed at 7pm on a Saturday night. So ended up at 908. Which is open till 10pm. Almost unheard of on Cape. The previous place was basically a shithole. The new owner of the place actually cleaned it up and lightened it up. We were not disappointed. The service was basically what you can expect on Cape these days. They were very friendly. We don't get all worked up about the speed of the service at places here. We understand the shortage of help here. We'll leave that for the New Yorkers and Connecticut folks. The food over all was good. Fresh fish for sure. The owner was delightful and very apologetic for our wait. Again No Worries. Looking forward to returning to try different items on the menu. read more

We are from out of town and wanted a nice, fresh meal. After looking at the menu, we decided this would do the trick! We had the pineapple coconut margarita (SO GOOD!!), Haddock, Pan Roasted Chicken and Bread Pudding. We're taking the dessert home, so I can't speak to that. But the food was absolutely delicious. This has been our fourth time at 908 Bistro. My husband has celiac disease and they offer so many gluten free options. Yesterday we had the fried fisherman's platter (gluten free) It was the best fried food I have had in recent memory. Gluten free or not you will definitely want to try their fried seafood! The chef (owner) even made us gluten free onion rings which my husband can't get very often because most friend foods have cross contamination in the deep fryer. read more

This is a wonderful restaurant. The service with Jess was warm and friendly.. Added significantly to our experience. The food is creative and delicious. We had the tuna appetizer which was served on cucumber slices with Wasabi cream and a sweet soy sauce. Perfect blend of flavors. Then a caprese salad with fried green and regular tomatoes. Balsamic reduction. Again.. Delicious. My husband had a striped bass special and I ordered the chicken which was other worldly with a fig and balsamic reduction. So good and enough for two meals. Slow service, loud atmosphere, burned rolls and tasteless food and cocktails. Not worth the price! The people at the table next to us sent their appetizers back! Discovered this place by accident and so glad I did. First off, just show up, there's seating at bar and outside that's first come-first serve. Ladies, try the 908 Spritzer.
