Came here for a casual dinner on a Thursday. Other places had wait times and we didn't want to drive too far away from Dennis, MA. We were a party of seven. We really didn't know what to expect.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When we first walked in we didn't see anyone but them then the host walked us over to the other side, which is where several other parties were seated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a no frills place but they had a decent menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We went safe ... the entire table had different burger meals, with the exception of my husband who had the veal parmesan. We really enjoyed our burgers (they were pretty big in size) but not thin or super thick, which I prefer. Fries were very good too! Food tasted fresh and was hot and all our food came out at once. We're back! Our first night at the cape this year. We were served by Allyson. This time The Honey picked the Baked Scallops, a generous portion of perfectly cooked, well sized scallops. An excellent choice. I had to try the KFC chicken cutlet. Deliciously spiced crust over a generous piece of chicken cutlet. Topped off by The Snack - a huge slice of chocolate cake served with whipped cream and a ramekin sized bowl of hot fudge. Yummy. read more

Jasons appears to be in what looks like a local restaurant in the middle of a shopping center. Our waitress was a little gruff at first, but warmed up as the night progressed . My friend ordered a lemon drop martini which initially tasted like pure alcohol. When asked our waitress remediated the situation by bringing over more mixer . The soup of the day was a creamy chicken which we all enjoyed. Tuesday is parm night and both the eggplant and chicken parm were very flavorful. They both came with two sides and for 15.99 were a bargain! My friend enjoyed her Caesar salad with scallops . Overall a great meal for a great price. read more

For many folks, myself included, dining at a better restaurant is an auspicious event; put blunty, an only sometimes thing. And since my wife and I don't live close to Jason's, it's been a few years. But what joy: they were even better than before! Meghan, our server, was so personable and prompt; and as it was slow, Gail, her colleague, even introduced herself! Nice people! And my Chicken Parm with linguine from the Daily Specials' menu was tender with a very decent sauce and even 'al dente' pasta, a sign the chefs really know their craft. And my wife's Baked Stuffed Cod was hefty; a gorgeous filet flanked by the creamiest garlic mashed potatoes this side of Nanny's farm. She also savored a special Limoncello Martini, rocks nearby. And their layered chocolate cake was tall, tender, and tantalizing as a splash on a breaking Cape wave on a sizzling day. And hey, Jason's Tavern is the darn same: a find! read more

Wait 10 minutes before the bartender even talk to me. Asked want I want to drink then came back two seconds later and asked me how to make it. Got my drink 5 minutes later. A man came in and sat two seats down from me, the bartender was on him like white on rice. So, ladies don't go to the bar when Zack and I think her name is Kaity (but not sure) are working. This was on Thursday the 2nd. Sorry, bartenders should know how to make drinks. Then 15 minutes later ask what I want to eat. Over a half hour after my drink had been empty than they asked if I would like another. Then it took 45 or more before coming to see if I needed anything. Jason's is quite the popular local eatery. It's located in a major shopping strip mall right off the Cape highway and on a main thoroughfare in South Dennis. Pick up your meds at CVS, buy a gift for your bestie at Marshall's, and have a decent meal at Jason's. My hubby loves their Rum Punch to start. One thing about this place that absolutely NOBODY else has is the Superstar Server, Joanie! This blond haired, diminutive, whirling dervish is the best waitress I have ever known. She can handle anything and anyone. In a bad mood? Joan will set you straight! She is hysterically funny and sometimes her few words can send me into a wave of laughter that often gets other diners around me laughing as well. All while Joanie keeps moving and dishing out the delicious meals along with a side of unmatched professionalism and her warm, friendly demeanor that keeps us coming back. Oh, the food is mostly comfort food, it's really good but compared to other restaurants in this area that are upscale in their food and surroundings, I think Jason's can do better. We had a wonderful meal and experience at Jason's this past Saturday evening. The place was full of locals. We sat on the bar side, and we did not even have to wait at all. We were promptly asked for a drink order, when the server returned with the drinks, she took our food orders. The server was also the bartender, but she would not have known that because she was on top of things. Mom had the clam strips! Delicious! I had the crab cakes, yummy and the butternut squash side was perfectly seasoned! My fiancé liked the chicken tenders he ordered and loved the Asian honey dressing. Dad also liked the meatloaf! It was a very local crowd, kind of noisy, & the bartender was nice to put the Belmont race on one of the TV's for us! Late lunch, wanted a drink first and a great burger second. Our server Carmen was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive. The drinks were great, we asked for some time as it was just at the end of lunch service, so we sat for awhile, enjoyed our drinks and ordered our burgers. A regular cheeseburger and the Lyonnaise burger along with fries (so good) and a small charge to have one burger with onion rings (also so good). Both burgers were cooked perfectly and delicious. Went to Jason's tavern with four others on a week day for dinner. We tried the following: Poutine (would not recommend) Italian Soup (recommend) 2x Chicken Parm (recommend) Eggplant Parm (not preferred) KFC Chicken (recommend) Baked Scrod (recommend) The service was done by seasoned waitresses who were not the fastest, but extremely kind and detailed. Our group had a mix of drink orders, add ons, etc and she was able to keep on top of all of it. Helpful tip: If getting a meal such as chicken Parmesan, ask for some extra sauce on the side as you'll likely want more. There were some great early dinner specials that go until 6pm that we were too late for and some daily specials that seemed like great deals too. I haven't been here in awhile, and the food is still fabulous, there is a reason they win the best burger award, it was delicious. Not too hot on the waitress....we never got napkins, so I asked for several. She came back and I asked for more, and she just looked at me, and I stated that you never gave any to the other people at the table. We had no silverware, so I went and found where they were along with the cloth napkins, which we were never offered. Not impressed. Had a great lunch at Jason's. They have an "Early Bird" special that includes Sundays 12-6. The chowder was very good. We both had clam strips and fries. Both were very tasty and piping hot. We are locals, having moved to Cape Cod (Harwich) year-round in 2016. I rarely write reviews about our local favorite restaurants, but we visited Jason's tonight, and it was particularly good so here goes! For dinner my wife had one of her favorites, "The Chatham", which is a salad with sirloin tips and shrimp. She loved it and brought some home for lunch. I had the "California Chicken"over ziti which I can't completely describe other than to say it was delicious. We had Joanie as our server taking care of us and she was wonderful as always. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe overall was casual and family friendly as usual with a kind of "Cheers" ambiance[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and Ryan, Judy and Joanne were some of the other servers who do a great job. Also, I can't leave out Carmen who we didn't see tonight but is our favorite at the bar at Jasons and my personal favorite bartender on Cape Cod. Went for lunch today. Waitress came to our table to take our order. Her cell phone went off and she left to answer it. When she returned we ordered. Food came out reasonably quick. 2 burgers both overcooked. Kids chicken tenders were so dry no dipping sauce could fix it. Meatball entree was decent, but have never seen a meatball fall apart that much when cut into. It turned on to mush. Absolutely would not recommend. With a great trip in Cape Cod, we were looking for a quick bite to eat on the way home. We stumbled upon this, and wish we didn't. The pulled pork sandwich, was not only cold, but had a huge chunk of jiggly fat. The clam strips, were bombarded by unwelcoming onions rings, which seemed to be used as a mirage to hide the small portion of clams, which were also gross. The eggplant had a few "mystery" chunks, that were inedible and were not eggplant, but what? Hmmm. STAY AWAY. C'mon Jason, yah need better cooks! read more

Was excited for opening after renovations! Ordered a "creative salad" for $17.99 (grilled chicken honey ginger salad advertised as sliced grilled chicken and pasta on a bed of chopped greens with tomato cucumber and croutons) It was big unsliced chicken on lettuce. I asked server where the pasta and croutons were. She got POd, snatched the salad away and brought it back with 5 croutons and some cold half cooked ziti on it. Disgusting- and god knows what happened to my salad in the kitchen- couldn't have brought out my 5 croutons and nasty refrigerated pasta separately? The server then refused to wait on our table!!!! This review is for the owner- I have been going here for years. Good food, good value. Today I decided to go for lunch, something I rarely do and have never done in the offseason. I saw the "McMel" lunch special for $3.99 and thought "why not"? When I ordered it I was told that it only applies if you are having alcohol. Process that... a lunch special that requires a customer to consume alcohol. Or any special that requires you to drink alcohol. ( and potentially go back to work?) I don't drink. Neither did the couple sitting next to me. For me it's a choice. For others it isn't. There was no option to pay a few dollars more for the special with a soda. Also, having TVs at the bar is ok but let's find something that makes some sense to have on ( fortunately it wasn't CNN or FOX ) with a volume level below yelling. We came here during a Friday night and it was sort of busy. Was seated right away. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich and my fiancé got the East Dennis burger. The buffalo chicken was sweet and my fiancé burger was super charred. My aunt also came with us and she got the eggplant parm but found pieces of plastic in the eggplant. Like others have commented, from the outside, it's not impressive. But as soon as you walk, in, you're in a pub-like atmosphere. Food was very good. I had the clam platter which was excellent. My brother had the crab cake which was just okay. Sister-in-law had a pot roast egg roll which was good. My wife had a cheeseburger and she said it was good. The French fries, onion rings, and fried clams were all serve piping hot and extremely crispy (as in really good). Our server was Mary Ann and she was very helpful, cheerful, and even suggested places we could go to have fun for the evening. We're from out of state and would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants the good meal at a reasonable price. read more

This was our first time visiting Jason's. Wow, all I can say is I wish we tried Jason's sooner. Yes, it's in a strip mall, but once you pass the door you wouldn't know it. We started with two mixed drinks that were refreshing. We had the poutine for a starter and it was out of this world! Perfect gravy, melty cheese, and fries. Delicious! Stopped in for an early dinner on Fathers Day. We had never been here before, but we would do it again. Sure it was in a strip mall along with Stop & Shop (?) and others. Sure it's fairly nondescript, but so what. We had the most delicious meal there, no pretense, just good food. They have a slightly different twist on the buffalo wings but still tasty. Then we had Drunken Coconut Chicken served with rice and mixed veggies...she would have gotten asparagus had she known it was available...chicken was very good but the veggies only meh! I had the Fathers day special surf & turf which was steak tips and baked stuffed shrimp ($15) which included a baked potato. We finished everything.
