This is my favorite sushi place near and around the Boro. When you walk in, there is nice Japanese decor, running small water fountain and a small Koi Fish Pond. As we entered, we were greeted by the owner and immediate water to the table. We ordered sushi for two, crazy stone steak and a roll. The steak came out, good nice piece of raw steak as you cook yourself on a hot stone! Amazing! Sushi for two was on par, nothing comes close, every piece tastes fresh like right off the boat, no frozen pieces you get at some places. Prices are a bit more than other sushi locations, but trust me it's worth the price. Probably the nearest good sushi in the area is Oishii Toobin Sudbury. Although I did take away today, the restaurant does have seating that overlooks Hager Pond which I imagine would be lovely for a leisurely sit down meal. I am not from Boston but decided to visit this place because I haven't had sushi in a while. I happened to come across this very quiet restaurant and decided to eat here. I am a big stickler when it comes to sushi, but was pleasantly surprised. I opened with some salmon and tuna nigiri. The fish was flavorful and the rice had a nice lightness of the rice vinegar that I always look for in sushi. I decided to get the tuna's lover after that and it was a very interesting concept. I'm not sure if they paired tuna with soy sauce or ponzu in the bowls, but I enjoyed it though normally I like to eat my sushi sauceless. The seaweed salad accents the taste and texture nicely and recommend that dish the most. My boyfriend also tried the steak on the hot rock. We try many variations of this dish, but didn't expect to be given a full 9 oz steak. With the sides and rice, it's very worth your money. The rosemary on the rock added a good earthiness and the portion was generous enough that I couldn't finish it. Overall, I think the place was better than a lot I've been to and would recommend it to people visiting Boston. read more

The best sushi around. I've been there twice now and have not been disappointed. Brought some friends the second time and they both loved it too and agreed it was the best around. Both times I have gone, it has not been during peak dining hours, so it's hard to say how busy it gets, but the service was super friendly and attentive. Admittedly, I have not gone here. My daughter wanted me to go to lunch/dinner with her here.. So as far as sushi goes, I love it with one caveat.. I am Anaphalactyc to tuna and only tuna.. I can eat all other fish. So I have had reactions at sushi places in the past, so I called Crazy stone first. Sadly, there is quite a language barrier. The hot stone is pretty intriguing, but because exhaust doesn't seem to exist in the restaurant if too many people are ordering the hot stone, the food smell and the grease from the food particles gets heavy... pretty much you will walk away smelling like what everybody else is eating. We received a flyer at the office about Crazy Stone, and we have ordered twice now from this lovely restaurant. I've personally had the chicken tempura (super crispy), spicy squid (perfectly cooked, and quite spicy), shrimp shumai (yummy!), Patriots Special Roll (it was good, but a little too much mayo sauce), Octopus Nigiri (very bland & chewy, wouldn't order again), Spider Roll (really good).
