Its summertime...so that means its also time for ice cream and milkshakes! So tonight I was in the Southwest suburbs and needed my milkshake fix. I remembered about this place, Creamery, as I had been here a long time ago...so it was well overdue time for me to come back. The place was really crowded and there were no parking spots so I opted for the drive through (which also had a decent number of cars going through it). This gave me time to decide on what I wanted, given there is a huge variety of ice cream you could choose from that is made in small batches (presumably in-house). Anyway my turn came and I opted for a caramel flavored shake and after a bit of a wait I had possession of it. Wow...what a shake. It was very tasty and well worth it. It also had bits of chocolate covered caramel bits which added to it. And the shake itself was rich but very very good. If ever in the Lemont area, this place is definitely worth the stop. How sad all the bad reviews. I have lived near this specific location for 9 years. And I frequent here OFTEN. Never once had an issue and we have severe allergies (nuts). I absolutely love their icecream it is so so good so creamy ha. I grew up going to the Creamery when there was only one and that is the Frankfort location. Unfortunately, this one was not good. As you can see from the picture, the cherry dipped cone was a disgrace. It just melted all over my husband within seconds of receiving it. My twist cone was okay. Their ice cream has changed. It is more like ice milk. Just these two cones cost $12 and it was not worth it. We were both disappointed and won't be returning. read more

Such a nice summer day for a ride in the "country", such a cute ice cream parlor, such a disappointment!!!! So many choices of ice cream & sandwiches. I chose a sloppy joe, my husband had the reuben dog, both were disappointing. The sloppy joe was barely warm, little meat which looked & tasted slightly burnt. The hot dog also slightly warm with ice cold sauerkraut, cheese & dressing. We ordered a banana split to share. Equally disappointing. Could barely taste the 3 toppings on the ice cream. Went to the Homer Glen location of Creamery. I've been here a few times and they have been reassuring considering my nut allergies. The last time I was there, I watched them make my soft serve cone and sprinkles, after making them aware of my allergies-- with incorrect procedures. I had them remake it, which they did with no issues. But if I had not watched them make this cone incorrectly-- I would have had a reaction & ended up in the hospital. When ordering they reassure me the will "mark it down" & "make my cone with a fresh bag of sprinkles". When seeing the worker quickly make the cone, I wondered if they marked any allergy notice at all. Last night I went through the drive through, high nerves about ordering. I asked the one taking our order if he would suggest ordering a plain cone due to my extreme allergies and the large volume of people at the Creamery. He assured me my allergy would be noted and they would use a fresh bag of Oreos for my chocolate soft serve cup. 2 bites into my dessert, I had a peanut something in my mouth. Seemed like a peanut M&M. The panic began. Creamery should be training their workers on allergies--and making sure they follow up. While I am an adult with allergies and can monitor my symptoms, children cannot. Do better. read more

Unbelievable. Brought kids here on a Friday evening with temperature at 57. The lot was packed so we had to enter drive thru which was also packed. We arrived at 815 pm and waited in line with only one car behind us. The line moved so slowly which showed they are obviously understaffed. By the time we got to the front to order it was 903. Punk at window stated "we aren't taking any more orders" then turned microphone off. There were two cars in the drive thru left and we had waited 45 minutes because they were so slow. Upper mgmt making staff scrub walls from top to bottom, scrub freezers, inside and out and 15 year olds leaving at midnight after cleaning for 2 hours when closing is at 10pm. Parents calling and yelling the kids cannot close up anymore. Then Just to hear negativity from upper mgmt in the morning shift on how no one cleaned the night before. Hire a cleaning service. $8.50 an hour to clean your mess up from years prior is a joke!! read more

The ice cream tasted like old, side of the bucket, freezer burned, icey-cream. It is not creamy- it's icy soft serve garbage! You call yourself a creamery when nothing was creamy about that sundae! Chicken tenders weren't even hot and took 10+ minutes to make a cold grilled cheese sandwich. Went there after the pumpkin farm to feed the grandkids because sign read "Wed. Wienees $1.99". Well I guess you have to pay more to have the wieners actually heated up. I went to get ice cream with my family and got all 5 orders wrong at the window to start. One of them had nuts and I was unable to eat it so I asked for another to find out they only scraped them off. Now I like ice cream as much as the next fat kid, and I like this place too. I'll get to the "but" of that statement in a min. The shakes/malts/whatever you call them. I don't know that there is actually any difference. Everyone says "ohhhh, a malt is much thicker. And Boston style you need a spoon for" or something like that. (Don't fact check those quotes, I made them up) But I can't tell the difference, they're just good. The creamery is nice to have around because it feels like an old timey get together spot in the summer. You almost always make or run into a friend or too. It's nice, it's not like the "Big Box" ice cream places where they just treat you like a number. You really feel like part of something here. Now to the "but". My wife grew up with the Rainbow Cone. Her and her mother swoon for it. It was huge when they found out The Creamery had it. I just don't think its that special. I don't . Go ahead and judge me for it, but give me a milkshake any day. For those of you that don't know it's a giant 7-12 flavor stacked cone of ice cream that is rainbow colored. Ummmm... Just discovered this place recently. and i am sure glad I did. I was extremely excited to hear that they had rainbow cones! That gave me a flashback to my childhood for sure. My cone was every bit as delicious as I remembered. We came here specifically for the rainbow cones but the food menu caught me eye. I heard the food here is pretty good short order and the prices are definitely right. Will have to come back here to try something to eat. The service was fast and they kept the line moving and we were served quickly. They were not the friendliest bunch but they were pleasant while keeping us moving on our way. read more

I used to go to The Creamery in Frankfort all the time as a kid, so I wanted my kids to have some at our recent visit, and also to re-live my childhood memories. I was happy because my kids enjoyed their ice cream, but we were all disappointed at the way the ice cream looked, we ordered 2 sundae's that had been completely smashed by the flat plastic lid tops we were given. Suggestion - Order some of the plastic "cone" type top lids for your sundae's, it will give your customers a more appealing ice cream experience. I am not impressed with the Creamery, but my oldest daughter loves this place. I, personally, judge the quality of ice cream by the flavor of plain vanilla or chocolate ice cream, without all of the toppings. Well, this place does not pass the vanilla taste test. Not impressed, sorry! Came to get ice cream with my brother and cousin on Memorial Day. I got a heath bar blaster, my bro and cousin had sundaes. They liked theirs, I didn't care for mine. It seemed like just vanilla ice cream with chunks of heath bars thrown in. I hate to say it, but I really think Dairy Queen's blizzards are much better, and likely cheaper. This blaster was pretty dull and not very well blended together. Maybe it's not supposed to be, I'm not sure? My brother ordered his sundae without whipped cream, and lo and behold, it had whipped cream on it. I like the location of the Creamery and it seems it's a local business with a few locations around the 'burbs, this particular visit just didn't cut it, for me. I am sorry to say it, but this place has really gone down hill. All summer long the soft serve machines are not working properly, yet they keep using them. The ice cream looks like it has neen refrozen. When I tell them I get the same response...yeah our machine is kinda broken. Well get it fixed! Also the cones were very stale tonight. The overall taste of the ice cream was a four, but the sizes were out of proportion. Every creamery I've gone to the small blaster has been the size of what should be a medium, but this creamery the small was what I consider a kiddy, which was kind of disappointing since I was looking forward to some good old fashioned creamery ice cream. Service was terrible! We waited at the line for at least ten minutes after the server said she would be right with us, which is a long wait considering they weren't busy at all. While we were waiting I saw the server getting a crunch cone dipped, but she dropped it in the crunch container and used her BARE hand to pick up. Another person in my party ordered the turtle Sunday. The server used her bare hand again to grab a cherry. If your in the area and want some ice cream I recommend going to one of the other creameries in the area, which have great ice cream and service! read more
