Our home is a newer build home which did not have a backyard landscaped when we purchased it. A little over a year ago we got some estimates on getting our backyard landscaped, and of the 4 or 5 people we checked out, Joe was who we chose to do the job. In our backyard we were starting from the ground up so it needed a lot of work. Things that were done in the backyard by Joe and his crew were constructing a proper drainage system, electrical and natural gas lining (for separate built-in bbq island), 2 foot retaining wall along our side yard fence, drip irrigation system for flower planters, stamped and colored concrete work for nearly the entire backyard, 40ft x 12ft allumawood patio cover (latte/mocha color) which included LED recessed lighting, ceiling fan install, and custom stone work on the posts, and designer rocks/mulch for planter areas. Over a year later and we are still just as happy as we were when the job was first completed. The crew was accommodating to changes we made during the construction, and Joe was very helpful with design ideas throughout the project. The total project time took about 5 weeks to complete. One thing I would like to note is that at times Joe was difficult to reach by phone, but everything ended up working out fine in the end so that didn't end up being a problem. I would recommend his work to anyone looking for landscaping/hardscaping, whether it's a big or small job. His prices were the same or cheaper than many of our other estimates and the finished product came out better than we envisioned. read more

I've been in customer service for many years here in Temecula Valley and after paying 22K I thought I would be a very important customer, I was wrong. My single story ranch home is older, but that shouldn't be a reason not to do a good job, imo. Couldn't get ahold of anyone after repeated voicemails and calls, even his crew sided with me that he screens and avoids calls. Many corners where cut and getting in and out fast was what I felt most important to him. After payment he becomes a ghost, no follow up or concern for his work even with messages for help. I will comment further down the road, I really feel I will see problems down the road. read more

We had Joe do our yard along with a handful of other neighbors back in 2011. Like the other reviews Joe is a nice guy but being a nice guy and doing quality work are two different things. Joe is hard to reach by phone like the other reviews point out. We were initially happy with the work Joe did but we did notice a problem early on. Our fire pit never got really hot and our bbq was odd as well with heat. 5 years later and we found out the problem - Joe never pulled the permits for our gas line or any of the other 6 houses he did on our street and he used a gas line that was too small and not up to building codes. The gas lines themselves are now rusting. We have to decide what to do about getting it fixed and recouping our money from Joe to pay for the fixes. Our backyard never drained properly and after reading the reviews of others I have a feeling it was lack of planning on Joe's part but I cannot say 100%. I will say that Joes work "LOOKS" good once completed - that is why he has two stars and not one. read more

Create A Scape did my patio in 2013.We had just purchased a new home We chose Joe after looking at several landscape companies. When the job was done the initial prep work was not done as it was supposed to be. Initially the work looked beautiful and we were very happy. Within 3 months the patio started to crack down the middle starting at one end of the patio and traveling parallel to the house. Since 2013 we have been trying to have them come and fix the work. the only time we received responses were when I said I would contact the BBB. Finally in June of 2014 he came out and looked at the patio, indicated there was a problem and it shouldn't be cracking like that and he would do whatever was needed to fix it. In June of 2015 while the crack was then about 15ft across the patio he scheduled a date to start the work. I had to reschedule to due a work commitment and I haven't heard from him or gotten any response since that time while the crack is now about 2/3 the way across the patio which spans the back of the house. Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this company as the merit of the company is how they react when problems arise. Any company can provide good service if there are no issues. It's the follow up and completing the service that matters. read more

Like another review on this site, at first glance the work performed by Joe and his crew looked great. However within one month of the installation I noticed that the irrigation system did not work properly. Some planter areas were flooded and some were not getting enough water. I called Joe several times leaving messages but he never returned calls or responded to emails. I stopped using the drip system and hand watered but it was too late. Shrubs and plants either drowned or dried up and died. I replaced them - some two or three times. It's been frustrating over the past year trying to keep up with watering properly and keeping plants alive so I recently hired a landscaping contractor to inspect all the work that was done by Joe. He discovered that the drainage and irrigation systems were not installed correctly. In addition sealer was not applied to the inside of the concrete planter wall they built. This, along with improper drainage in the planter, explains the water stains along the bottom of the outside planter wall. All the water goes to the bottom and partially drains into an adjacent planter causing the flooding. He also found that the soil was not prepared properly prior to planting. Instead of adding enough amended soil, much of the existing rocky soil they had removed was used to backfill the planting areas. The landscaper I recently hired is fixing the drainage and irrigation with replacing and re-routing PVC and installing new drains where needed. The dirt will be removed from the planter and the walls sealed. New shrubs and plants will be planted in new amended soil. I hesitated to write this review because Joe is a nice person and he was responsive to my requests while the crew was on the job. However, I don't want anyone else to go through the frustration and added expense that I've experienced. read more

Initially we were very happy with the job Joe completed. He did the concrete, sprinkler system and sod in our backyard. The job was completed quickly and looked great. However, after a few months our sod slowly began to dry despite our ongoing maintenance. We reached out to Joe and after trying to reach him for a couple of weeks he said he'd come out to look at it. He mentioned that it might be bad sod and that he'd follow up with the manufacturer. We didn't hear back from him until we reached out again. We had to constantly call him for weeks to get a hold of him as he was unresponsive. He provided an update and said he was still following up with the sod manufacturer. Again, a few weeks weeks went by and we never heard from him again. We've been reaching out constantly for about a month now and have had no response from him. Overall this whole process has taken over 3 months with no definitive answer from Joe. At this point we've given up and it appears we'll have to pay someone to fix the job. I almost did not hire joe based on the just so so ratings here but had excellent reviews on thumbtack. When I met Joe, he showed me photos of his work and gave me ideas on improving my project. His bid wasn't the lowest but was very reasonable. I ask little changes and Joe complied without charging me extras. His workers take pride in their work and go out of their way to finish the job on time. Overall, I am very pleased of the results of my project. read more

We hired Joe back in 2012 when we bought our home from a builder. Originally, he was very professional, friendly, and attentive to our needs. But, he took a long time to finish his work. I ended up having to call him repeatedly, leaving messages asking when he was going to finish putting in plants. He NEVER called me back. One day, I just came home and the plants were put in. Plus, he didn't put down any weed barrier or mulch as we expected. We felt so burned by him but we never even called back to dispute his unprofessionalism. I was reluctant to post this for a long time, but it's not fair to consumers for him to get away with shoddy work. Joe appeared genuine and kind and we thought he did good work, but after only a year our irrigation system began to have issues and our concrete has been extremely discolored for some time now. I'm only glad we don't have drainage issues on the concrete. However, other than that Joe really let us down. read more
