Since I was 3 years old, I have been coming to Dr. Paul and Dr. Kaitlyn. I am 17 now and throughout the years, Dr. Paul and Dr. Kaitlyn have assisted me in keeping my teeth healthy. When I was a child, coming to their dental office was very enjoyable for me. The environment is very neat and clean. The dental work area is very relaxed. While working on my teeth, dental assistants make sure all the tools are prepped and ready to be used. The staff provides you with the upmost comfort possible by providing warm neck pillows and etc. After every visit, the office provides you with a goody bag which includes toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and etc. Both Dr. Paul and Dr. Kaitlyn are very skilled at their work and keep up to date with the latest dental techniques. Let me start by saying how much I hate going to the dentist. It's a childhood phobia that has stuck with me into adulthood, like eating fruit. I called the office and made an appointment for the same week. The office seems to stay busy, so If you want a Saturday or late weekday appointment, be ready to wait a week or so. I was greeted at the office by friendly staff members that lead me to a computer so I could fill out my medical history and personal information. This is very new to me. Last time I was at a dentist appointment, they were still using paper for everything. I only had to wait less then five minutes from my appointment time to be seated in the chair to have my teeth X-rayed. They used a digital X-ray machine that had the images ready almost instantly. Also a new experience for me. Shortly after the X-rays were taken, Dr. Paul Nguyen came over and began his exam. During the exam he found nine cavities. Ouch! One for every year since I saw the last dentist, and that was for a chipped tooth that lead to a root canal. He cleaned out all the tartar on my teeth, and explained what I needed to have done. Everything this visit was done pain-free. I will have to update this review after I get the cavities fixed. That will take two more visits to complete. Dr. Paul is so friendly and gentle, I made an appointment for my wife with him for next week. They also have an office in San Lorenzo where his wife works. I've been going to Creative Smile since I was a child for twice a year cleanings and unfortunately, fillings for cavities (I was not a diligent about brushing my teeth when I was younger). I'm now an adult and still come here for my routine cleanings. I've never understood the fear that people have of dentists and maybe that's because I've always been coming here and haven't had to deal with one that causes a lot of pain. Is there discomfort? Of course there is since someone is still rooting around in your mouth. But no pain during normal cleanings and only some pain with the numbing injection before fillings (it helps that there's always another person assisting Dr. Katelyn who is tapping your shoulder to distract you). read more

As with every young child, I've always hated dental appointments! That has been the case for as long as I can remember, but It wasn't until several years ago when I started coming to Creative Smile Dental when I realized just why people absolutely hate going to the dentist. People hate going to the dentist because of the many traumatic memories they've collected through the years; the mean dentist/technician, the drilling, the novocain injections, the smell, etc, etc, etc. I've been coming to Creative Smile Dental for several years now and I've always felt at ease with all of my dental needs, from the moment I walk through the door to the moment I get up from "the chair" as my dentist tells me, "No cavities, you're good to go!" The practice is very clean, well kept, and tech savvy. The dentists here at this practice is a young and very friendly husband and wife dual. A little too friendly sometimes, but in a good way, not the creepy kind. The dental assistants are gentle and attentive, especially when it comes to learning what makes you gag (dental x-rays for me)! The front desk personnel is extremely friendly and make it a point to make you feel welcomed and taken care of before and after your appointment. They don't seem as readily to offer them to adults, but it doesn't hurt to ask - noise canceling headphones, sun glasses, bite blocks, toys at the end of your appointment, etc. But regardless of age (or maturity level), you'll still get a "surprise" in the end. Mine came in the form of a goodie bag filled with a sample size of Colgate Total toothpaste, Colgate Total dental floss, Colgate 360 toothbrush, and a pen with their contact info imprinted. I don't think I'll ever stop dreading the trip to the dentist, but Creative Smile Dental makes it much more tolerable. I was just here for my semi annual cleaning today...no cavities!!! :) read more
