It was bad enough when Credit Union 1 closed its ATM and shortly after the branch itself near the center of Henderson, Nevada "old town", leaving only one other branch and ATM on the "western" side of Henderson... a bit of a drive from our home. The one open still on Paseo Verde Parkway ALSO recently did a significant down-size and the last two visits, within a week of each other, the ATM was unable to dispense cash. They don't have anything like Zelle to instantly transfer or receive money from other banks. They permanently closed Lake Mead Pkwy location now anyone living in most of Henderson has to drive far to the branch. NO there isn't a shared branching Credit Union in the area of the closed branch you'll have to drive far for that to! read more

I've been a member at this credit union for 10+ years and going to this branch for the past 4 years! The service is exceptional!!! Ashely and Shawna the managers helped me with three of my loans and were sure to get me an unbeatable rate! Ashley was so knowledgeable with all of her products and services and made me feel comfortable about trusting them with my money and loans! The tellers are great too! Always so kind. They seem to do much more than a normal teller. They cut my cashier checks, do my wires, and normal transactions. At my husbands bank we have to wait to see a "banker" to do most of those and it's such a wait. But not here the tellers do it all and with a smile!! Hands down best credit union!!!! read more

We used to love Credit Union 1. We have several types of accounts with them as well as savings and checking accounts for 5 of our children. We received such fabulous, personal service, then they closed our local branch. As an avid online banker I wasn't as concerned as I didn't regularly have to go into the branch. Then I had multiple problems which required a trip to the branch and/or a call to customer service, all of them being awful experiences. I knew it was awesome having a branch full of very helpful people close by, but I didn't realize just how much I valued that. The Lake Mead branch was exceptional, way beyond the average banking experience. The manager there went above and beyond to help us manage our accounts, and that service hasn't been replaced. Because of recent changes, we'll be starting our younger 2 children's accounts at a different credit union and will be working on changing all of our other accounts over to that CU as well. It's kind of a daunting project since we have so many accounts tied there, but I just can't support this horrible company anymore. read more

I started banking with Cumorah Credit Union over 30 years ago and always appreciated their friendly, helpful customer service. Things have sure changed since they were acquired by CU1. On Thursday I had to drive over 30 minutes to visit the 'nearest' branch to withdraw a bit of cash for Christmas in specific denominations so I approached a human teller. While the simple, quick transaction was performed I was instructed on the institution's preference that I use an ATM for cash withdrawals. I acknowledged the information indicating that I understood BUT the teller proceeded to scold and shame me, rewording the message two more times as if I didn't get the inconvenience I was causing the first time. My loyalty to this institution has expired. I will be moving my fairly large account (which earns a ridiculously low dividend) to someone who appreciates my business. read more

I have been under serious medical treatment for about the last year. I Just figured didn't need to open statements. Come to find out my account had become inactive for some time and stacking up some fees. Also in the meantime the branch closest to our house closed. Leaving the next closest branch 30+ miles away. I decided to call. Worried that I would need a supervisor or "decision maker". Anyway Jesse Flores answered and I simply asked for excellent customer service and leniency. I explained the situation, he verified my identity and was able to work some magic. When he came back on, I asked that if I provided documentation more could be done. He then asked his supervisor and they were able to reverse 1 more month of fees. I was grateful! A few hours later I received a voicemail from Jesse. I called back. He informed me he had spoken with his call center supervisor and was able to make me whole! All fees were reversed! So grateful, so helpful and it was hard to hold back the tears! Literally! I used to love this bank but now they're closing all of the branches and make it impossible to get money into your account. They put holds on your deposits for three days stating it's for your protection while they overdraw your account because of courtesy transactions they call it. I attempted to deposit money and then ran two transactions the next day but they made sure to take all of the big transactions first before the small ones to create more overdraft fees. Co-op banking as a joke because even if I deposit cash they hold it for a week to verify that it's cash. There are better ways to make money than trying to steal from your customers! read more

Credit Union One was a very good institution for the past ten years but the past 2 or three haven't been as good. Lost our branch in Henderson Old Town which really disappointed but it appears that there is a horrendous change occurring beginning with their change in computer systems and frankly their phone service is totally corrupt. No answers. Hangups. People not understanding what is occurring in their company. Forced acceptance of new practices. I have read many of these reviews and I must say I'm happy for those that are happy. But I am not happy along with many long term members. I don't like being ignored or slighted and that is apparently the posture of bank management at our level. Working now to remove a new credit card problem is a system that appears to be a fail before its off the ground with a manager who contacted me after a complaint over staffs inability to handle service calls. We can look for others, as I am doing, but all seems to have failures at service levels. The banking industry appears to be saying if we go to the digital banking, which they are trying to force us into, they really don't give a care about us or our concerns. I am waiting for a return call yet I don't believe it will get any better. I don't recommend them at this point. read more

Yvonne Toves is one of the best if not THE BEST! Representatives I've ever encountered! In fact, I don't think there are enough stars here... she deserves 1,000 more! I'm taking time to explain my experiences with her which is something I don't usually do but I was just so overwhelmed by her consistent effort to ensure my purchase of a vehicle was smooth and painless and she was very knowledgeable with her interactions with the dealer. I could clearly see the dealer was trying to get over on me with there pricing and the politics of selling me a vehicle but Yvonne stopped them at every corner with her knowledge and experience! Before my encounter with Yvonne, I was seriously contemplating going with the Federal Credit Union wondering if I may get more perks being with them but I completely changed my mind and decided to stay with Credit Union 1! This kind of treatment and care given to customers is very rare and literally makes me feel like family so to leave in my opinion after such wonderful service would be like leaving family! Sooooooooooooo slow, I just can't believe how slow this particular branch is. Line has 6 people and there's 2 tellers and they are counting their drawer at one. The supervisor is just watching behind the counter. Either they need more staff or to work on their procedures and efficiency. I've been in line almost 20 minutes and still not my turn. I tried ATM in drive thru first but it wasn't accepting deposits. If I wasn't in a hurry, I wouldn't mind which is why I tried the drive thru first. read more

Worst branch the tellers are all dumb they can never find my account! I come in every month same time, same issue. They lost my ID the another person found it they sent it through the outside bank and "accidentally gave it to the wrong person? Looking for a CU Shared Branch location? This is one I recommend. It's got good parking and an easy to access ATM if you want to get off I-215 in a hurry, pull your cash and then get back on I-215. If you go inside you will find friendly and helpful staff. Some locations seem to look down on shared branch members, but not here. You can get service with a smile, and without any attitude. There's hardly any lines either at least when I've been there. Their ATM also accepts shared branch deposits....which can be hard to find. Overall, 4 stars. read more

I don't like banks simply because the line is always long and the person behind the counter always want 10 pieces of ID just to verify you are who you claim you are to get YOUR own money out BUT... Credit Union 1 ... is definitely my bank of choice. This may sound like a commercial ... no, I do NOT own shares to this bank and I'm not an employee of this bank. LOL. So I completed a loan application, online, to refinance my mortgage. After the third day of calling, I finally reached someone who said the loan officer would call me back within the next two to three business days. Three days go by, then a week, then two weeks and then on the third week I get an email from the loan officer saying he would call me the next day. He did, but said he didn't have much information at the time and would call me back the following day. You guessed it.... about a month later, no call back. It's a shame too because I've used them in the past and they used to be good. Had to refi with a different bank. read more

I refinanced my home with Credit Union 1 recently and Patrick Tyler was my loan officer. He provided "The Best" customer service. He kept me informed of all that needed to happen to close the loan and always made sure to follow up on any updates. Furthermore, he was upfront about everything so that I can make the most informed decision regarding the loan. Some loan companies will try to take advantage by having hidden fees, but there was none of that. Their rates were the best and Mr. Tyler made the process smooth and removed all of the stress! I have used credit unions for many, many years and this branch/credit union is the worst. My main use is for shared branching. I go maybe twice a month and more than 50% of the time shared branching is down. So I try to call ahead because it's way out of my way, and their stupid phone system (which is extremely below anything related to customer service) to get anyone on the phone to ask if the shared branching is even up. So as far as I am concerned you take your chances in every way with this credit union. I also did a drive through to make a cash deposit. I was the only one in line until about 3 min later another car pulled up in another lane. That car left before I did. I pressed the teller button and asked how long should it take to make a simple cash deposit... The teller replied, "Your patience is appreciated." The next thing I know, a car drives up behind me in my lane, the driver gets out of her car and asks me if this is my driver's license and deposit slip for my transaction... I'm like WTF! Yes, it was mine. Had she not driven back, who knows how long it would have taken me to get my personal information back. Good thing the customer was "on the ball" because this credit union is not. Oh and don't go there for a notary either. Trying to get a simply title notarized, I was turned down because the Notary was uncomfortable. The title was totally clean. I was selling the vehicle. This credit union is a waste of anyone's time. read more

Been coming to this credit union twice a month for the past two years to use the shared branch services. On one other occasion in that time, I've been asked for more information than usual. I addressed it with the manager Ashley then, and informed her I'd never been asked for that much information before. I was only too willing to let her know she needed to improve her training. Same thing happened again today. Was asked for more information than usual, and questioned it. Once again, the bubble headed Ashley was unable to provide adequate information as to why the additional info was needed. She blamed a rule change and I asked when the rule change went into affect. She had no answer because she didn't know, and because I informed her that, unless it went into affect within the previous two weeks, she was wrong. Managers hate to be shown they're full of crap, and called on their b.s. This is the second time I've called Ashley out on hers. There won't be a third. I'll gladly drive a farther distance for better customer service. The tellers I usually work with are awesome, but Ashley needs to seek out other employment, perhaps in the fast food industry. read more
