Solid meal that was overshadowed by an uncomfortable dining experience. Nice to have a BBQ meal, but the small dining room which has everyone in close proximity to you while ordering at the counter is unappealing. It was a sunny day so we were able to eat outside on one of the two picnic tables under a covered awning. There are a few more tables on the side by the parking lot which wouldn't be an option on cold or rainy days. You order and pick up at the counter and grab your condiments and the sodas (Coke products) and sweet/unsweet teas are self serve and include refills. I chose a sandwich (The Santa Maria) which comes with one side and the apple cider sweet potatoes sounded too interesting to pass up. Very tasty tri-tip with the garlic butter on top and a good serving size. The sweet potatoes were very soft and served in a liquid so it felt more like eating a seasoned chowder. Mr. K enjoyed his Meat and Two plate meal with chicken, coleslaw and creamy mac n cheese. The coleslaw has a mild horseradish kick. Neither of us was too impressed by the BBQ sauces. I live for cornbread muffins and these were a little dry. We had one with each of our meals (we added it to my sandwich) and while mine came with butter and honey, and Mr. K's did not. The other dining difficulty is the lack of napkins and hand wipes. Eating BBQ is not a neat business, so a packet of wipes is really handy. Unfortunately here they just have a roll of industrial paper towels so you just feel messy. Another bit of constructive criticism is the state of the picnic benches. They are sticky and have splattered paint, so they could really use some TLC to clean them up. I don't even know where to start. I was skeptical about how good this bbq was going to be since it's in a shopping center. They have indoor and outdoor seating. No table service so you just order at the counter and then they'll call your name. We had the pulled pork, a hot link, Rib tips, and the brisket with mac and cheese, greens, and potato salad. Growing up in Texas I tend to have a benchmark of measurement for myself when diving in to some BBQ smoked meat deliciousness. Creekside does a pretty good job in fulfilling that craving too and with very few BBQ places in this area it's certainly one of the few for me that stand out. Was glad to find a BBQ spot in Vancouver. Ribs were good and mac n cheese was creamy. The hot link is hot, so if you like that, you're good. Beans are a bit spicy and the greens were okay, I personally would have seasoned them differently. Brisket was good when you add sauce. I would try in a sandwich next time. First time I've been here. My son and I were in for lunch. I was turned off at first because the staff acknowledged us then ignored us for 10 minutes while we waited at the counter. They were right in front of us but they were more concerned about filling the containers for the hot box than they were with us standing right in front of them. We placed our order and sat down. I was watching them fill more containers behind the counter. 15-20 minutes later they started putting together our order. Not ok. I ordered the St. Louis style rib platter with horseradish coleslaw and apple cider sweet potatoes. I have to say the level of delicious made up for some of the lack of attention to us. The food was ALL good! Very good use of flavors. My son had the chicken and brisket and said it was great. The restaurant could have been a little cleaner as well as not looking like a mop closet. Had to try this place out...Located in a strip type mall so parking was OK, but could see how it could be bad during dinner rush. We were there early on Friday about 1400.. Place was clean , staff was friendly, and we ordered right away. Coke machine if you care and had a small amount of beer on tap. They bring the plates out to you and you bus your own table when done. Different sauces were on each table so you could try them or drown yourself if you wanted. Ok the food....We had some mixed plates. Brisket, pulled pork, and rib ends between us. Brisket was cooked perfect and tasted great. Pulled pork was nice and smokey with little bits of crust throughout. Rib ends were great too. Nothing needed sauce but we tried them all and they were all good. BBQ beans were yummy. Chunks of meat and big beans in there. The horseradish cole slaw was ridiculous and I could have consumed a gallon of it. Corn bread muffins should be sold by the gross. Wife and I wanted more and will be back. Good BBQ ain't cheap but cheap BBQ ain't good they say. ~$30 for a big mixed plate two sides muffin and a coke. My wife brought home a meal and I ate like it was Thanksgiving. After not finding any decent BBQ in Oregon, I tried to press my luck on the way to SeaTac. The best thing about this place is that it is not to far off the highway. It is a brightly lit, sit down lunch joint. Not very warm, or welcoming. Almost borderline rude, but not, just straight business. They do not want to be your friend or have you be a repeat customer. Ordering was very quick. Maybe they were disappointed when I answered I didn't want any sides. I ordered half rack of St. Louis ribs and half pound of brisket. I did not have to wait long for the food to be dropped off at my elevated table on a traditional tin tray. I first sampled the sauces, which I thought was extremely rare, it appears they are confused with their identity. They don't know if they want to be Carolina BBQ, Kansas BBQ or Texas BBQ. I have never seen this before, typical a BBQ joint will claim their roots. "This is Texas BBQ" and you kinda know where they stand. The ribs were "OK" the bark was kind of tough the sauce that came on the ribs were "MEH". Definitely not worth writing home about. The brisket was "Mid" at best. There was some moist pieces and some very dry pieces. It was also cut very oddly thick. Not traditional slices. Additionally, the put side pickles and onions "ON" the brisket. Like touching it, to me this kind of tainted the meat it touched with pickle juice. Or were they trying to cover up some smell or taste? Not sure. The weirdest flex is they hang their bad reviews in their bathroom. What! That's a little weird. Not just that, they write comments on them for their self gratification it appears they are not wanting to reply to the reviewers online and acknowledge their mistakes or take criticism to make a change. Very odd. I would give this place a second try, I would specifically request moist ends, or chef's cut next time and try their baby back ribs to see if there is improvement. Wowzers! Tried this place for the first time and was blown away. I'm not alway a brisket fan cause it is often too dry or tough. This brisket was 10/10. The unique horseradish slaw was an absolute perfect pairing. My husband doesn't even like horseradish but said he loved the slaw. The beans were nice and thick. And the sauce selection was better than I've had at any BBQ spot in the US (That includes TX and KC)!!! Vinegar, mustard, spicy, sweet, Texas style. The muster based sauce was different from any other mustard sauce and I'm in love. Can't wait to get back and try the other meats. I'd say for a first try this place was a home run. We have tried almost all the BQQ joints in Clark County (and portland) We always get the same thing: chicken, pulled pork, brisket. Beans on the side and collard greens if they have them. Went to Creekside for an early dinner. This is a small strip-mall place that we will go to again! Really good! We ordered the brisket and the 1/2 chicken with 2 sides. Brisket delicious, nice and tender with a delicious smoky flavor. The chicken was tender and nicely charred. For sides our group had corn muffins, potato salad, coleslaw and mac and cheese. The coleslaw was spicy with notes of horseradish, I particularly liked the red and green pepper and pickled onions mixed in. The potato salad wasn't anything special but was fine. The Mac and cheese was pretty good, a bit "gluggy". Everyone enjoyed trying the variety of sauces in baskets on each table. They will appeal to almost any palate. I would have liked the food better if it had been served hot enough though. All the entrees and sides that should have been hot were barely warm which made us disappointed. We have ordered to-go from here a few times and I have to say it's so nice to have a nice bbq restaurant nearby considering the food desert that is Vancouver. Sides: the camp beans are phenomenal. Well seasoned, Smokey, just overall yummy. The potato salad has really improved and is so delicious! I've seen reviews on dry corn bread but I have never experienced this. It's sweet, and the corn meal adds a great texture. The pickles are bread butter pickles, sweet and tangy. Meats: We got a three meat plate with ribs, pulled pork and brisket. Everything was well seasoned and not overly smoked which is big for me. The cuts weren't super fatty and very tender. The pork was a little dry but it was end of day and I just dip it into the many bbq sauces (mustard is one of my faves) and it's perfect! When we have dined in the staff has always been welcoming and helpful. The restaurant is going for a more country vibe so most things are self service, which considering how much sauce I like works out for me. I did not know this place was here. I love a good bbq joint and Lord knows we certainly don't have enough of them in Vancouver so I was more than happy to see Creekside pop up in the neighborhood! I told her "if these here taters aren't good, I'm coming back to see ya" ;P Guess I'll be going back after all...cuz they were weirdly delicious! I mean yeah, sweet potatoes cooked in apple cider sauce is kind of an odd idea (or no?) but once you get past that, these weird, brown little cubes sitting next to your sandwich, turn into something strangely delicious in your mouth. Pro tip - eat them while hot. Now the brisket - tender but not enough to shredded into pieces. Flavorful but not overpoweringly so. I missed the bark, not sure I got any, and I searched for a smoke ring but I'm not sure I spotted it. If this doesn't matter to you, and to many it won't, then ignore what you just read about bark and a smoke ring. I'm just use to the delicious home cooked stuff I get that covers all these bases (sorry Creekside! I'm being ultra snooty, aaack!!). We did not end up eating here, so this review is based solely on experience and not food. We arrived at 7:15 on a Saturday evening (9/24). There was a sign on the door saying they were "Hella out of ribs, tri tip and brisket." We went inside anyway. The cashier was nice, and asked for our order. I was going to get the pulled pork sandwich. My husband wanted a combo plate. He asked since they were out of almost everything, if they would do a combo plate with pulled pork and a hot link. The cashier went and asked the cook, who replied, "Absolutely not!" The cashier looked a little taken aback by his response, but returned and told us they couldn't do that. We left and went elsewhere. We weren't even bothered that this restaurant only had 1/3 of their menu in stock, but the attitude that those cooks had was absurd. We will not be back! read more

I've eaten here twice now and every time the food was consistently good. The brisket is so soft and has great flavor. The chicken was good but not the best I've ever had. Not a fan of the texture or flavor of the hot link. The Mac and cheese is good. The horseradish coleslaw is different and I like it better than the regular kind now! Baked beans on point. Cornbread so good. Every sauce was delicious. And the banana pudding is tastes really fresh and full real bananas. I haven't tried the Santa Maria tri tip but it's on my list! I have had this bookmarked for awhile to try and since I was in the area I decided today way that day. I made it to the car and had to snag a few sweet potato fries to snack on because everything smelled so good...they were perfect! The brisket is very very good. My daughter loved her pork sandwich and I even broke down and got seconds and ate some ribs, which I rarely eat. The red potato salad reminded me of my Great aunts "famous" potato salad! My husband laughs because I always order coleslaw even though I rarely like restaurant coleslaw however I was really surprised at how great this was! The horseradish really is an amazing add! It really made a simple pork sandwich the star of the show. From someone who has eaten BBQ all over the United States you guys have a solid menu. My wife gets upset when we go out and I tell her the food we make at home is better. Well this was the case. It's really hard to do a good brisket, and this was just okay. It was trimmed really nice and the bark was good. But, it was dry like brisket has a tendency to do. When I go out to a bbq place I judge them by the quality of their brisket. I love brisket and it's hard to beat one cooked by a pit master that does them daily. Well, I do better brisket at home on my smoker than this place. Unfortunately I just don't always have the time to do one at home.. Ribs were fall off the bone, but really dry. I could do better at home. Slaw was not good. My wife's slaw is a lot better. Beans were really good. Hot links and mac & cheese were good. Server was super friendly. This is the real deal and my new favorite BBQ joint. The service starts strong and finishes strong as well. Quick and efficient order taking followed by the busser check-in in with me and bringing me some pickles and onions when I asked. The brisket was fork tender, great flavor and there was enough to satisfy my hungry appetite. I tried the Texas Red, the red sweet and red sweet and red vinegar sauces. I can recommend the first two, the Texas Red being my favorite. True to form, the vinegar based sauce was very thin and like other vinegar sauces I've tried did nothing for me. The beans were my best favorite for the two sides. Excellent flavor and enough of a kick to get your attention without burning your mouth. If I were to like any "seasoned /coated" fry, theirs would be it. I just don't care for them. The pickles were also very good, the onions were nothing special. The cornbread muffin was great, moist with good flavor. Get there early. They were out of several meats when I left at 6. This isn't unusual for a place that gets their Que right and perhaps it is most noticeable on Sundays when other places are closed. I was the only one waiting for food when I got here, every table was full with a line in from of the counter 30 minutes later at 5:45. Several choices of draft and canned beers if you want a beer with your meal, they have many choices and are open to suggestions for others to add. We were pleasantly surprised by how good this place was. We visited on a Sunday afternoon recently and it was busy, but they were cranking out the food pretty quick. The only downside was that there's not a lot of seating due to it being in a small strip mall suite. However, the food was A+. However, it looked like less than 1 lb so I placed the container on my kitchen scale, including pickle slices and the container it was only 12.3 oz. Lots of hits, and a few misses I frankly don't like any of the sides too much. The fries are fantastic and my wife loves the potato salad (I'm not a fan of any potato salad), and that's about it. I liked the ranch beans, but they swapped them out for different ones that I don't. The coleslaw is disappointing, and the corn bread is oddly dry. All of the meat is incredible, however. The tri tip is my favorite, followed closely by the brisket and rib tips. The sausage, chicken, pulled pork...it's all fantastic. There's a great variety of sauces, all of which are far more interesting and delicious than the typical Cattlemen's or KC Masterpiece you find so many places. I'd love a good spicy barbecue sauce, but at this point I'm nitpicking. I'm not a big dessert person, but took a stab at their rotating cobbler today and it absolutely blew my mind. It started sweet and finished with an incredible blend of spices, with some really good whipped cream to tie them together. Finally, one of my pet peeves is restaurants with good food and a poorly assembled menu - which seems to be all-too-common with barbecue. Creekside has a great menu with combo and a la carte options and a few different sandwiches (something every barbecue place should have, IMO).
