The only way to get in is on special occasions so inquire within or on the Sly Fox website. The staff were so wonderful and kind really catering to our every need. We started with Infused water and mimosas. The Raspberry mimosa was sweet and bubbly with the perfect amount of raspberry sorbet. The food was beautifully displayed in a buffet style. Such a great variety. Fresh fruit of all kinds, french toast, waffles and chicken, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage , scrabbled eggs, quiche, house potatoes, deviled eggs, and a charcuterie board . On the sweet side they had mini cinnamon rolls, danish, brownies, cookies and cupcakes with the galentine theme. They had chocolate and chocolate covered strawberries with pretty pink food grade glitter. Plenty to choose from and plenty to eat. We loved it. In order to get into the speakeasy it is tickets only. We are looking on their website for the special events. Can't wait to see what they do for another event style. This time is was a Galentine Brunch.

Access to the speakeasy is limited only through events held by the facility or booking private events. It's available for rental for company holiday parties, wedding receptions, engagement parties, birthdays, graduations, bridal showers, baby showers.. the opportunities seem endless! Who knows, maybe even a place to hold a small continuing education conference?? We attended the Galentine's Day brunch buffet. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time either in person or over the phone. It is a cozy, comfy space to dine and have drinks in a relaxed classy beautifully decorated establishment. The interior design emanates speakeasy. Every detail of design was carefully curated with the utmost intention. Staff was fantastic. Even though it was a brunch buffet, staff were attentive, friendly and frequently checked on all tables to address any needs or questions. The lovely staff were genuinely happy to take photos for us without any prompting. The flow of the buffet was perfect, and the food presentation was delightfully charming! There was a photo back drop available and the decor was so festive, and classy yet simple. The decor wasn't over the top , it was just the right amount of decorations to add pizzazz and celebrate with festive spirit. We all had a very enjoyable time celebrating Galentine's day! It was a wonderful event in an equally wonderful space. The music was on point, as well as the volume level. It was loud enough to enjoy the music, yet low enough that you could hold a conversation without screaming to hear each other. It was very peaceful and even if you don't choose a booth, the tables on the opposite side of the bar do provide some privacy due to the small partitions. The variety of food offered was just right (not overwhelmingly too many options and not too little options) and the food was tasty. It was an excellent first impression that left me excited to await what other fun events they will hold in the future.

Love it here!…read more Yesterday my husband and I dined at this restaurant for the prime rib special. Today Monday the day after is National prime rib day so the restaurant decided to feature a special on prime rib for Sunday dinner. My husband made reservations online for 5:00 p.m. we arrived on time with no wait and because the restaurant was fairly empty we decided to dine at the bar instead of a table in the actual dining room. Our bartender/waitress, Lizzie, she was on point held the whole bar area down punctual assertive and had everything under control. I ordered a margarita I did ask her is it a fresh Margarita and she said yes and my husband ordered his normal crown with a splash of Sprite. My margarita in my opinion it didn't taste as fresh as I would like it to be and then I don't care to have a margarita in a tall glass that just screams mix not fresh to me. Nevertheless I just know not to order that again going forward but my husband's cocktail... Crown Royal with Sprite he enjoyed it! I wasn't super hungry so I decided to order a salad and add a piece of blackened salmon to it it was very good finished it all up... ordered it my way. My husband ordered the prime rib I believe medium his was a little bit more than medium but nevertheless he said it was good and he ate every last Fork full. We decided to make room for dessert so we share the creme bruelle which was pretty good ...not the best ever tho. Our dining experience took about 90 minutes we were able again to sit at the bar and catch some of the NBA Playoffs that were featured on TV. Overall the dining experience was a 10 out of a 10 five stars as usual of course a few bumps, but nothing to take away from this experience. The Ambiance is always lovely very inviting love the low lighting that it gives as well as the natural light that comes through the windows. The service always on point! I highly recommend you give this place a try if you haven't dined here before...solid restaurant. Have fun and enjoy life :)

This has been high on my "want to try" for a long time and finally saw an opportunity with an available reservation, went for it and am so happy I did. I dined solo, which I rarely do, but this was the perfect place for it. It was apparent that most people dining were regulars. The owner was chatting with just about everyone and diners were popping over to other tables to say hello, as well. Felt like a very small town. Service was perfect - not overbearing, but perfectly timed for a good flow throughout dinner. Their menu changes often, so some of the items I loved, may not be available - but it does seem like their fried oysters are a mainstay and holy moly, they were delicious. I had one cocktail - I believe it was called Watermelon Sugar. It had vodka, aperol and fresh watermelon. Refreshing and smooth. I tried two apps: the fried oysters and the bao buns. Both were fantastic. Perfectly prepared, so much flavor. I think that next time, I would stick to the appetizer section and try many rather than getting an entree. I got the scallops, which were delicious, but the apps wow-ed me more. Prices aren't low, but you get what you pay for - really high quality dishes with lots of thought and execution embedded. I don't say this lightly - this has been added to my top 10 list in all of Hampton Roads!

It's a small, quaint space that gives you that perfect blend of cozy neighborhood vibes with an upscale, refined feel. The food was absolutely outstanding--every dish had unique, well-balanced flavors that clearly showcased the talent of the chef. You can truly tell that a lot of care and creativity goes into the menu. The service made the experience even better. The bartenders were fantastic (James especially stood out!), and the waitstaff were incredibly personable, attentive, and welcoming. Circa 1918 is one of those rare places that feels both like a hidden neighborhood gem and a fine dining experience all in one. We will definitely be back!

We arrived at 6:30pm for our reservation. We walked in and was greeted and the next gesture was the hostess asking for $10 each. I was a bit blown away because I didn't understand what the $10 was for because we just walked in the restaurant and it was only a handful of people inside including an employee sitting down eating ... and the workers still setting up and what appeared to be the entertainment that was setting up as well. The hostess mentioned entertainment was taking place around 7:30 or 8:00 ... Okay but it was not even close to that time frame so not sure why money was taken or asked for in advance. My bestie and I were going to dine if anything share an appetizer and have a drink ...definitely wasn't going to be there for any entertainment because we both were underdressed so that was a bit of a turn-off but he was excited to try the restaurant so he paid the $20 for us to walk in and sit down. The restaurant was wide open so we decided to sit at the bar instead of a table not sure if he was greeted at the bar because I went to the restroom. Nevertheless I came from the restroom and sat at the bar with him and not even 2 minutes later I was greeted with gnats and the smell of bleach such a turn off not sure what's going on here or what happened but I was ready to go. My bestie wanted to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt but 5 minutes later I still was turned off and was ready to go. Well... go at your own risk. Parking is available on the street as well as a parking garage is available within walking distance. We were in and out by 7pm. $60 spent I order an old fashioned I know I finished that in about 15 seconds because I didn't want anything to get in it so from what I can recall it was good. Have fun and enjoy life :)
