I visite my best friend in Berkeley very often and sometimes we go to lunch, dinner, this time it was brunch! I come for visit to take her out for her birthday and asked her to choose any place she want to eat! She never been here either ! We come here for Sunday brunch, we arrived a little closer to the closing time so we didn't have any wait at all and the order come really quickly. On Sunday they have a special menu for the Sunday brunch, it's a very small menu and easy to make a choice. We both decided on the Salmon Benedict! I hesitated to make that choice since from my passed experiences I always found that Salmon Benedict is always over salty! This time that was not the case, it was just perfect for me ! It's a must visit place for your special occasion. The service was very quick due to the closing time however we didn't feel rushed , we managed to finished our bottle of Champagne and mimosa! We dined in once and I ordered takeout once and I have to say that I enjoyed my dine in experience more! For takeout, I ordered the pork loin ($35) and it was a bit disappointing. Reviews for the pork chops were promising but my dish was a bit dry and tough - not the juiciness the other reviews promised. It was a short walk back home so it's not like it was sitting in the box for too long. When we dined in, we got a pizza and a pasta. I've eaten at Creekwood twice - once for brunch and once for a birthday dinner. Brunch was tasty. Dinner was exceptionally good. Between the six of us, we ordered quite a bit of the menu. Each dish was prepared so thoughtfully and deliciously. As an added bonus, the service rivaled the food. I've been here on two occasions: for dinner and for brunch. I have to say they've impressed me both times. I'll be speaking about my most recent visit during brunch. My cousin and I had brunch on a Sunday morning and there was plenty of space indoors to get seated right away. I know brunch spots in Berkeley usually have a long wait and I'm grateful this place wasn't bad at all. Maybe people aren't aware they serve breakfast on the weekends but I hope it stays a local secret. We shared the pancakes which I enjoyed and I had the lox on a toasted boichik bagel. My cousin got the salmon eggs benny. I think for a brunch spot, they had a lot to offer. I was a huge fan of the vegetables. Usually I don't get enough if any during brunch. We ordered the Brussels sprouts which we devoured pretty quickly and our brunch items came with a small arugula salad. The service was also very attentive. I def will be back. I never update a review so soon but I just had to! I saw that Creekwood ranked #36 on Yelps Top 100 Places to Eat in 2021 and needed to go back! Ordered the gnocchi and meatballs again (how can you not) and ordered the brussel sprouts and fries. My boyfriend and I were drooling over the brussel sprouts: maple glazed, perfect balance between salty and sweet. The fries were good too and came with a delicious garlic aioli. Again, the gnocchi and meatballs were superb. Idk how they do it but the sauces they use are incredible. They make you want to lick the plate afterwards. There's reason why Creekwood made the list on Yelp's Top 100! Do yourself a favor and try this place out! read more

Came here for an anniversary on a Sunday evening. We were pleased to see several groups of friends and family enjoying their glasses of wine. I must say this place is great and very tentative. The staff knows well how to tend to their clients. The gnocchi is scrumptious, with notes of pesto and an explosion of ricotta cheese. The gnocchi itself is a miniature pillow filled with greatness with every bite. Definetely a serotonin boost while eating this plate. The ribeye, scalloped potatoes and heirloom carrots made for a tasty plate. The ribeye was cooked to perfection, every cut was like slicing into butter. It was a great pairing with the beurre rouge. We were there on a frigid night (in the 40s!) and were warm enough with our light bay area coats on. - The service was lovely. - Between the four of us we had the burrata, meatballs, brussels sprouts, rack of lamb, 2 rib eye steaks, short ribs, carrot cake, chocolate cake, cookies, ice cream, and two bottles of wine. We are recent transplants from LA and searching for something like our old Special Occasion spot, Pizzeria Il Fico. We made a reservation for New Year's Eve at Creekwood. The only available seating was outside, but it was warm and comfortable, and had just the vibe we were hoping for. Contemporary, welcoming and lively. Every seat was filled. The New Year's Eve menu included items we wanted to try : gnocchi with pesto and lamb shank. We also shared the butternut squash soup and the green gems salad. The food was amazing. I even took the leftover pesto sauce home to have with my own gnocchi. Service was very attentive, even though we could see that everyone was rushing. Seating on the patio was quite warm, on a cold night. We can't wait to visit again and try the Italian dishes on their menu. I've been here twice. Both times the food was amazing. I really enjoy the pizza and the gnocchi. I did not have the fried chicken sandwich, but I did have a piece of fried chicken and it was tender and delicious. They make all their desserts in house, and the flourless chocolate cake is insane. Ordered the meatballs and a wood-fired mushroom pizza and added egg on top. The meatballs were delicious - lightly packed and juicy - but the pizza was really impressive! We posted up at the bar and had watched the kitchen staff as they worked the dough, arranged the ingredients and fired the pizza in the pizza oven. I love having the bar overlooking the open kitchen! Makes for a super intimate experience :) While their beer and wine menu is not "cheap," they do offer a quality selection. It's located on a non-descript section of Sacramento Ave. in Berkeley with not much else around it. Because of this, the restaurant itself feels like a hidden, local spot for quality eats. It's not a huge restaurant (a few tables and some seating by the bar), but it feels cozy and intimate, with a wood-fire oven, as well as some outdoor seating among the succulents. I've really enjoyed the unhurried, relaxed, and sans drama or fussiness of eating there. I've only been there for brunch, and while the menu is limited, what they do serve is done well. I've opted for the Creekwood Breakfast both times - my scrambled eggs were light and creamy, the Acme levain had just the right amount of grilled crunchiness, and the hash browns and sausage were satisfyingly savory. Any place that serves up complimentary honey biscuit beignets (which though dense and less sweet than typical beignets, worked surprisingly well) is excellent in my book. read more

Pizza was pretty big for kid size, but super thin crust so I guess it's not that much. Wasn't a fan of the ravioli. Meatball was just ok. Parts of the sauce was a little too spicy for my kids though. As soon as you walk in, there are delicious smells coming from the kitchen, which has a bar you can sit at (I love watching chefs cook!). We had the beet salad and Brussels sprouts to start, and the sprouts were truly phenomenal. The beets were gorgeous and delicious too, but the sprouts seemed like the star of the show. Wow what a great find!! These guys are masters of fabulous food, flavors, and great service. When we arrived, it was a full house even on a Wednesday night and so we didn't mind being seated at the bar. To me, that was a great option because we then got to watch the chefs weave their magic and create the most delectable and tantalizing dishes right before our eyes. It was also fun to watch the pizza chef stretch and toss the pizza dough into the air and catch it. The menu is not very big but has enough items for variety and everything they do is delicious and done with perfection. We ordered the lamb shank, roast chicken, papardelle and broccolini. All came out piping hot. The roast chicken was among the best I've ever tasted with absolutely perfect seasonings served on a bed of vegetables, flavorful broth, and porcini mushrooms. The taste was indescribably marvelous and I want to go back and get it again! The broccolini was also perfect, still slightly crunchy, not overcooked and with a wonderful light sauce that had a hint of fresh Meyer lemon. A really delicious surprise was in the butter served with the bread, I'm guessing it was a high quality European Plugra type of butter but with the creative sensory pairing of just the right amount of light crispy salt crystals sprinkled onto the butter. It was a very pleasing taste sensation, and who would of ever thought that something mundane like bread and butter could be so irresistibly good! The papardelle was amazing with a delicious cream sauce that was both light and buttery without feeling fatty. There was a wonderful fresh garlic taste to it without being overpowering. Last but not least, the service was excellent! The managers and some of the staff came over to chat with us and they were so warm and personable. Went there for the first time last night. Full disclosure, it took 15 minutes for us to have a server check in after we were seated, but they were apologetic and made up for this with good service from then on. Great kids menu (though the kids pepperoni pizza is the same price as the adults' for some reason), but I was absolutely blown away by the quality of the hamburger! I'm a huge burger fan, but my primary focus is the flavor of the meat. I love them medium rare, and I get them plain with just cheese so I can really experience the quality of the meat. Most restaurants have frozen patties, that are impossible to cook medium rare with any sort of quality. So I was blown away when my burger came out perfectly medium rare and had an incredible amount of flavor. Juicy, but not too fatty and definitely not too greasy. One of the best burgers I've ever had in the Bay Area, and I'll definitely be back, because they have a great thing going here and the entire family was happy with their meals! Bravo. read more

We have been wanting to try Creekwood for awhile so we jumped to it on an impromptu date night. We didn't make a reservation and so we had to sit at the bar because it was pretty packed. The restaurant is cozy and you feel a warmth when you dine there. We wanted to try the lamb however they were out which was a bummer. One of the chefs made two small bruschettas because they didn't have the lamb and boy, was it tasty! We knew the rest of the night was going to go well. We ordered the burrata which came with fresh Heirloom tomatoes, the mushroom pizza, and the pesto gnocchi. Everything was just perfection. We were stuffed at this point so we didn't have dessert however they had fantastic options. We will definitely be back for the lamb and to check out brunch. Luckily I had this place in my Yelp bookmarks as I needed a solid location to celebrate my son's new opportunity and so glad I did. Service was attentive and food was outstanding! Fairly small place with indoor and outdoor seating but as soon as we stepped in, we felt a great vibe. The draft Black Lager beer was excellent, and the host treated us to some excellent crispy Brussels sprouts. For our main meal we had the King Salmon - toasted couscous, sweet jimmy nardello peppers, heirloom tomato nage, micro greens and the 15 oz, aged ribeye steak served with crispy fingerlings, turnips, beurre. Not the case when we arrived, gnocchi yes, none of the others. But they were so very kind to make my mom and I mashed potatoes! That was #1 on my list. We started with a prosciutto pizza; burrata & heirloom tomatoes and the Beet salad. All very good! They let their outstanding ingredients be the flavor, not drowning in dressings, etc. My husband & I had the roasted half chicken, mashed yukons & brocolini....YUM! So good! Chicken cooked & seasoned perfectly! Served with some drippings from the roasted chicken, so scrumptious! Mom had the salmon & mashed yukons, she said it was delicious! Being an out of towner visiting Berkeley for the first time in a while, selecting a restaurant to please a group without a lot of lead time on a Sunday afternoon was a little challenging. As I read reviews about Creekwood, I quickly became interested! I was also able to make a reservation online, which was essential for our travel needs and group for that evening. Everything we ordered and ate exceeded our expectations! The Burrata was incredible with peaches, cherry tomatoes and a basil and honey vinaigrette, the mushroom and asparagus pasta was very delicious with a variety of local fresh mushrooms, the meatballs were nestled in aromatic and flavorful sauce and the gluten free pizza with prosciutto, peach, arugula and Point Reyes Blue Cheese was a very interesting and wonderful combination. The kids loved their Italian sodas too, being a different brand than we've seen before in the US along with a variety of interesting flavor options. My one caution is, being a Sunday, they are closed on Mondays and it seems like they run out of a lot of menu items leading up to their closed day. There were 4 or 5 items on the menu they said they were out of when we were getting ready to order. So, if you have certain favorites or items on the menu you really want to try, avoid visiting on a Sunday as some may not be available. read more
