I asked if they had the carrot cake when I entered the restaurant. Of course they have it. The Dessert is one giant slice of cake and 4 forks due to the generous slice. We brought our friends here for a birthday celebration. It is a small neighborhood restaurant, delicious food and easy parking. We started off with a family sized beet salad. We also had the arancini which was 3 balls of goodness. We Also shared a crispy Brussels sprouts dish which is a must order each time I come. We ordered the crispy crusts mushroom pizza and Margherita pizza. Mushroom pappardelle sans dairy. All pastas are home made per the server. Wow did not know that! I had the bone in pork chop with mash potatoes and spinach. It was a large dish, so had a take home box. Service is excellent. I learned that they only serve beer and wine, not cocktails. I will always come back,

Great ambiance, wonderful service, and delicious food. What more could you ask for? The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, both outside and inside. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted warmly, and seated quickly next to a window. Don't be fooled by the title, "Small Plates." These mussels were a full, satisfying meal for me.

With my partner's family, we went to Berkeley to try this delectable restaurant. Parking was quite easy to find and we were the first customers inside. The servers were all quite friendly and happy to help. We were seated and ordered a few beers, brussel sprouts, pork chop, steak, gnocchi, campanelle, and burrata. Each item was made very well and delicious. It was a very solid meal and we'd certainly want to come back. We ended the meal with fluffy panna cotta and a scoop of salted caramel gelato. So refreshing and lightly sweet! The whole restaurant quickly filled up on that Tuesday evening and it's easy to see why~

A lot of people don't know that the City of Berkeley sits on top of a number of creeks. Long before the city was built, these creeks flowed bringing vibrant life and beauty to the region. Well Creekwood is doing just that! This quaint restaurant on Sacramento Ave. brings a nice array of Italian and American cuisine. With both indoor and outdoor seating you can be fulfilled on a cold or hot day. I was very impressed w/ the Cesar Salad. Actual fresh anchovies and the perfect blend of lettuce, croutons and dressing. A great salad to at pair w/ wine and to start your pasta/mains. For me the Cameroni was the highlight. I loved the pork sausage ragu w/ touches of broccolini topped w/ pecorino and fennel. Honestly when I first saw on the menu that it was lightly topped w/ fennel seeds, I got nervous. Too much could throw off the whole dish. But that wasn't the case. I feel like you really can't go wrong with w/ any of the pizza selections. For us, the Mushroom Pizza definitely hit the spot. Truly enjoyed the delicious flavors of chantrelles w/ mozzarella, pecorino on top of a bed of marinara w/ splashes of white truffle oil. The perfect dish to share amongst friends.

Of course I had to come back here to try some new dishes since the last time we were here we enjoyed our food. We like doing brunch so this place had a good menu for brunch. We got here about an hour after opening and it wasn't that busy at all. We sat down and the waitress came by to see if we wanted some waters which we did. We ordered the meatballs appetizer and then the mimosa special which was a bottle of sparkling and a carafe of OJ for $45. A great way to start the day and for the price you can't beat it. The meatballs came out and they were just as good as I remembered. Tender, juicy, and a great marinara sauce. For our entrees we ordered the pastrami Benedict and the egg sandwhich with bacon. Our order came out pretty quick which you expect since it wasn't busy. My egg sandwhich was delicious, the bread was light, the eggs were fluffy, the bacon was cooked crispy which I like, and the potatoes were also cooked perfect crispy like I like. The eggs Benedict with pastrami had lots a flavor to it. A must try. Of course our waitress was great, she came by frequently to see if we needed anything. We were too full for dessert. Next time.

Brought my extended family here for their first time and dinner was absolute perfection! Brussel sprouts, meatballs, and beet salad to start- gnocchi, cameroni, pappardelle, and short rib entrees- and multiple desserts all round to end the meal. Everything was delicious and service was impeccable. Creekwood is always a good time!

Came for a date night on a Saturday, it was super fast to get seated! The service was amazing from then on, very attentive and suggestions were on point. We had the crab pasta, prosciutto pizza, affogato and carrot cake. All were AMAZING and we can't wait to go back

We went here for brunch one Sunday since we wanted some pizza, turned out that pizza only served at dinner. Well we came back for dinner and ordered the pizza turned out that it's only looks good on picture from Our fellow yelped. The dough was hard and the sauce was nothing to brag about. We did enjoyed their salad and pasta though so for sure we will skipped the pizza but will return for other dishes. Good service, food comes out fast and both indoor and outdoor seating are great.

Landed here in our search for blue cheese and pear pizza BUT we missed it by like six months. The pizza they're offering now is the blue cheese and PEACH pizza. Anyway, we felt it was a well crafted pizza.. rich smell of blue cheese.. the peach slice flavors also really popped when I ate them individually. If I do have to nitpick, the pancetta was a toss up. I felt it was too dry and crunchy; my wife loved it because of the texture. Highly recommend this pizza though! I ordered the speck pizza. I'm not too impressed with this one because I'm not getting consistent flavors with every bite. The smoked prosciutto usually disappear from the first bite leaving you with nothing else.

Super cute spot with great food! We shared the Brussels sprouts, gnocchi, & sausage pizza. All the food was delicious but the gnocchi was my favorite with a very rich & smooth pesto sauce. Came on a Thursday night & there was no wait. Highly recommend coming here!

Came here for dinner with three friends on a Saturday evening. Staff and Service: - Staff was friendly and we had a couple of different people making sure we had a good experience Food: Based on the service, I wanted to like this place more. There wasn't anything memorable about the dishes. - House Salad: this dish was basically a pile of spinach with limited dressing. - Little Gems Salad: this one was better and had more flavor - Wild Boar Sugo: the noodles were good, but this dish was salty overall - I appreciate that they had a few nonalcoholic drinks as well. The Bellini Peach Soda was tasty Miscellaneous: - Parking is available via local street parking - Reservations available - Heated outdoor seating available - Overall, a bit disappointed. It wasn't bad, but not great either.

Are mimosas available both Saturdays and Sundays?

    Yes!

Is pizza available at lunchtime or it just the brunch menu (where I don't see pizza)?

    What are the vegan options?

Roasted beet salad Crispy Brussels can be made vegan…

Is patio seating available for brunch on the weekends?

Yes- we have our covered patio with heaters available for brunch in the weekends

    Is there gluten free pasta?

We have gluten-free pizza- not pasta at this time

Parking situation- safe and easy or not ? Thanks! I don't live in Berkeley so not sure at night ...

There is street parking. I'd be surprised if you had any issues during the time you dine, but it's not the best neighborhood. Just be aware of your surroundings and don't leave valuables in the car.

Is there a corkage fee? If so, how much? Thanks!

Yes it is $18. We waive a corkage fee for every bottle purchased off our list.

Do you ever have a seafood entree on the menu (branzino or salmon, for instance)?

We have not yet so far, but it is something we have talked about for the future.

Any details on the beer options?

We have four on tap. Currently pouring Faction IPA, Magnolia Kolsch, Almanac Hazy IPA, and Scrimshaw Pilsner

Aside from beef, does any of the meat come from pasture-based operations?

Yes! Our chicken is Rocky Jr free range. The lamb is Superior Farms (sustainably raised American lamb)

Is the beef/meat free range and grass-fed?

Hi Alanna... no the beef is not grass fed, we prefer the flavor of non-grass fed. To my knowledge there isn't any designation for free range beef

I'm ready to take this street and head straight into the heart of Rome, or Berkeley so to speak,…read moreespecially if the food is this deliciously prepared as it is at Via Del Corso! Located in the heart of Berkeley's trendy North Shattuck business area that covers most of the northern part of the busy thoroughfare of Shattuck Avenue, Via Del Corso comes from owner Peter Chastain, a local restaurateur who made sure to save a longtime favorite local restaurant that was known as Corso, in a prine dining destination. Chastain did so by assembling an amazing team that guaranteed authentic cuisine that could be found not in just one but throughout many regions in Italy, much in part thanks to Chef de cuisine Massimo Orlando, who brings his heritage from northern Italy into all of their dishes. What brought me and two other diners here on a busy Saturday evening was the buzz that has been constant ever since they opened Via Del Corso in the summer of 2021 and we wanted to see what it was all about. Reservations on the OpenTable even a mere two days out were actually easy to make, as we arrived a few minutes late and they were still gracious enough to take our party and seat us with a view of their open kitchen, where no fewer than five chefs were cooking up a storm all evening long. The dinner menu at Via Del Corso is separated into categories including Spuntini, which are little bites; Antipasti e Insalate, which are their Appetizers and Salads; Primi Piatti or first course dishes; Piatto del Giorno or Dish of the Day; Secondi Piatti or second course dishes; Contorni or sides; and Dolchi or desserts. To start our meal we decided to order their Insalata di Polpo, which was their poached octopus served with Yukon gold potatoes, Gaeta olives, celery, sweet onions, and topped with lemon and extra virgin olive oil. Served with the perfect amount of umami and flair this starting dish was the perfect starting dish and made us eager for more of what Via Del Corso had to offer. As for the second course in our meal, we knew we wanted to share in their deliciously handcrafted pasta entrées, and it was recommended by our server Mike to order their signature pasta entrée, their Ravioli con Spungnole e Fave, which were their fresh pasta raviolis filled with sheep's milk ricotta, served with fresh morel mushrooms, fava beans and topped with Parmigiano cheese; and then we ordered a half portion of their Tagliatelle al Ragu which is their fresh egg pasta topped with Emilian meat sauce and Parmigiano Reggiano. For our main courses, we decided to split two entrées, their Petto d'Anatra con Ciliegie e Balsamico, which was their seared duck breast topped with their balsamico condimento, blistered cherries, and sautéed spinach; and their Bistecca di Manzo alla Griglia which is their Grilled Prime New York Steak served with rucola, lemon, and shaved Parmigiano. We also opted to have it served with Lardo which was a film of buttery garlic and cost an additional four dollars. The pastas would be presented to our table first and they were two of the most lovingly crafted pasta dishes we have enjoyed in some time. The real star recommended their ravioli as the were a meal unto itself with beautiful triangle shaped pouches filled with fresh cheese topped with unique mushrooms combined with an unbelievably tasty sauce. At 60 dollars our Bistecca was a wonderfully composed dish that was served with an elegantly composed arugula side dish and would have been a wonderful solo entrée to enjoy. The seared duck was a nice heavy dish that I most likely would not order a second time, as we saw the halibut being a nicely composed dish from a table far away, and nothing but good things about their signature pork chop. With a total bill of $194 for five dishes, a return visit would be a must to Via Del Corso, as we found this restaurant lively, in a good way, the service attentive, and most importantly the food prepared in a way that would make us come back for many more return visits. A neighborhood gem that everyone can enjoy!

It's a good place for a laid-back atmosphere. The restaurant is fast casual. When you enter, you can look at the menu and place your order. It's pretty much self-serve aside from them bringing your food. With that said, the limited interactions we had were pretty mediocre. What's fun is that it's a build-your-own spot. You choose your own pasta and sauce. They also have items such as sandwiches and salads. My best friend and I got the same thing--Rigatoni with Bolognese. I opted for no cheese on top. The pasta was al dente, but I definitely wish there had been a bit more sauce on the meat. The portion was decent for the price, but I do feel like I could make this at home. So if I come back, I'd opt for something else. The Italian Homemade Company has a few locations throughout the Bay Area. This one-off College Ave. is great for a quick pasta pick-me-up. You can find street parking in the area.

The music and overall vibe made it a really relaxing place to sit and eat. I was greeted and welcomed by one of the staff members, and since it was my first time, he was very patient and helpful when I had questions. After ordering, I sat by the wall and noticed some of the little details around the restaurant. They were pretty creative, even using an empty tomato can to hold the utensils and everything you need to eat! They also had pepper and chili oil available on the side. I wouldn't have minded having some extra seasonings like dried oregano, but that's just a small preference. I ordered the classic Margherita pizza and the mushroom & leek pizza. The presentation was beautiful. Both pizzas came out fresh from the oven on wooden boards, and they even sliced them up. The crust had the perfect crunch, and the Margherita was simple but incredibly flavorful without feeling too heavy. But if you're feeling adventurous, I'd definitely recommend trying the mushroom & leek. It was absolutely mouthwatering and had so much flavor. Overall, this was a really enjoyable meal with a great atmosphere, beautiful presentation, and delicious pizza. I'd definitely come back again

Service is attentive and kind. We live in Oakland and this is one of favorite sport in Berkeley. My partner doesn't want me to post this review because she's afraid it will get too crowded, ha. We found it very tasty, but paying over $25 for this on DoorDash--certainly not worth the price even though we really enjoyed it. The spicy chicken parm sandwiches were not good. The chicken breast was flabby, and came across like it was one of those frozen cooked Tyson jobs. I would be very surprised if they actually breaded chicken breast, fried it, and made the sandwich with that. It was mushy, and the breading was like paste on the chicken. Pretty awful. They charge extra for sauce, which is a little much, given that we paid $21 for each sandwich. But we figured out pretty quickly why they do this: there was hardly any sauce on the sandwiches. And precious little cheese. We each ate half of our sandwich and figured we doctor the leftovers up the next day with a jar of Rao's and a bag of shredded Italian cheese. That helped, but nothing could save that chicken. The meatballs. We paid $15 for four, and we had high hopes, but they were so mushy that they fell apart in the sauce, and I couldn't tell what was sauce and what was meatballs. The only flavor that came across was fennel. Why any meatball should be so fennel-forward strikes me as bizarre. We got what we thought were pretty basic things, and they were fails. If an Italian place can't make a decent chicken parm sandwich nor a decent meatball, that says something. If you go, try the pinsa.

Heroic Italian - Come enjoy an OMG on the patio in the sun before the next storm hits! An organic Italian soda pairs nicely as does a glass of wine.
