Burrata Prosciutto Pizza
Victoria P.

Just came for a Mother's Day dinner and it was packed! The food was delicious, but what I really liked was how natural all the ingredients tasted. The recipes were simple but effective, great service and romantic ambiance. This place does get dark at night! Also it can feel a bit crowded since the space is small. Overall great time!

Came for a date night on a Saturday, it was super fast to get seated! The service was amazing from then on, very attentive and suggestions were on point. We had the crab pasta, prosciutto pizza, affogato and carrot cake. All were AMAZING and we can't wait to go back

I asked if they had the carrot cake when I entered the restaurant. Of course they have it. The Dessert is one giant slice of cake and 4 forks due to the generous slice. We brought our friends here for a birthday celebration. It is a small neighborhood restaurant, delicious food and easy parking. We started off with a family sized beet salad. We also had the arancini which was 3 balls of goodness. We Also shared a crispy Brussels sprouts dish which is a must order each time I come. We ordered the crispy crusts mushroom pizza and Margherita pizza. Mushroom pappardelle sans dairy. All pastas are home made per the server. Wow did not know that! I had the bone in pork chop with mash potatoes and spinach. It was a large dish, so had a take home box. Service is excellent. I learned that they only serve beer and wine, not cocktails. I will always come back,

With my partner's family, we went to Berkeley to try this delectable restaurant. Parking was quite easy to find and we were the first customers inside. The servers were all quite friendly and happy to help. We were seated and ordered a few beers, brussel sprouts, pork chop, steak, gnocchi, campanelle, and burrata. Each item was made very well and delicious. It was a very solid meal and we'd certainly want to come back. We ended the meal with fluffy panna cotta and a scoop of salted caramel gelato. So refreshing and lightly sweet! The whole restaurant quickly filled up on that Tuesday evening and it's easy to see why~

A lot of people don't know that the City of Berkeley sits on top of a number of creeks. Long before the city was built, these creeks flowed bringing vibrant life and beauty to the region. Well Creekwood is doing just that! This quaint restaurant on Sacramento Ave. brings a nice array of Italian and American cuisine. With both indoor and outdoor seating you can be fulfilled on a cold or hot day. I was very impressed w/ the Cesar Salad. Actual fresh anchovies and the perfect blend of lettuce, croutons and dressing. A great salad to at pair w/ wine and to start your pasta/mains. For me the Cameroni was the highlight. I loved the pork sausage ragu w/ touches of broccolini topped w/ pecorino and fennel. Honestly when I first saw on the menu that it was lightly topped w/ fennel seeds, I got nervous. Too much could throw off the whole dish. But that wasn't the case. I feel like you really can't go wrong with w/ any of the pizza selections. For us, the Mushroom Pizza definitely hit the spot. Truly enjoyed the delicious flavors of chantrelles w/ mozzarella, pecorino on top of a bed of marinara w/ splashes of white truffle oil. The perfect dish to share amongst friends.

Brought my extended family here for their first time and dinner was absolute perfection! Brussel sprouts, meatballs, and beet salad to start- gnocchi, cameroni, pappardelle, and short rib entrees- and multiple desserts all round to end the meal. Everything was delicious and service was impeccable. Creekwood is always a good time!

Mimosa Special

Of course I had to come back here to try some new dishes since the last time we were here we enjoyed our food. We like doing brunch so this place had a good menu for brunch. We got here about an hour after opening and it wasn't that busy at all. We sat down and the waitress came by to see if we wanted some waters which we did. We ordered the meatballs appetizer and then the mimosa special which was a bottle of sparkling and a carafe of OJ for $45. A great way to start the day and for the price you can't beat it. The meatballs came out and they were just as good as I remembered. Tender, juicy, and a great marinara sauce. For our entrees we ordered the pastrami Benedict and the egg sandwhich with bacon. Our order came out pretty quick which you expect since it wasn't busy. My egg sandwhich was delicious, the bread was light, the eggs were fluffy, the bacon was cooked crispy which I like, and the potatoes were also cooked perfect crispy like I like. The eggs Benedict with pastrami had lots a flavor to it. A must try. Of course our waitress was great, she came by frequently to see if we needed anything. We were too full for dessert. Next time.

Incredible little spot! My daughter and I sat at the counter overlooking the small but very efficient kitchen. Our server was amazingly attentive and very helpful in making menu suggestions. The burrata was wonderful, and I can HIGHLY recommend the rich-but-not-heavy-or-sweet flourless chocolate cake!

We went here for brunch one Sunday since we wanted some pizza, turned out that pizza only served at dinner. Well we came back for dinner and ordered the pizza turned out that it's only looks good on picture from Our fellow yelped. The dough was hard and the sauce was nothing to brag about. We did enjoyed their salad and pasta though so for sure we will skipped the pizza but will return for other dishes. Good service, food comes out fast and both indoor and outdoor seating are great.

Landed here in our search for blue cheese and pear pizza BUT we missed it by like six months. The pizza they're offering now is the blue cheese and PEACH pizza. Anyway, we felt it was a well crafted pizza.. rich smell of blue cheese.. the peach slice flavors also really popped when I ate them individually. If I do have to nitpick, the pancetta was a toss up. I felt it was too dry and crunchy; my wife loved it because of the texture. Highly recommend this pizza though! I ordered the speck pizza. I'm not too impressed with this one because I'm not getting consistent flavors with every bite. The smoked prosciutto usually disappear from the first bite leaving you with nothing else.

Italian Sausage Pizza

Super cute spot with great food! We shared the Brussels sprouts, gnocchi, & sausage pizza. All the food was delicious but the gnocchi was my favorite with a very rich & smooth pesto sauce. Came on a Thursday night & there was no wait. Highly recommend coming here!

Came here for dinner with three friends on a Saturday evening. Staff and Service: - Staff was friendly and we had a couple of different people making sure we had a good experience Food: Based on the service, I wanted to like this place more. There wasn't anything memorable about the dishes. - House Salad: this dish was basically a pile of spinach with limited dressing. - Little Gems Salad: this one was better and had more flavor - Wild Boar Sugo: the noodles were good, but this dish was salty overall - I appreciate that they had a few nonalcoholic drinks as well. The Bellini Peach Soda was tasty Miscellaneous: - Parking is available via local street parking - Reservations available - Heated outdoor seating available - Overall, a bit disappointed. It wasn't bad, but not great either.

Cameroni
Romelia R.

We had an amazing time and enjoyed all our dishes. We ordered the Caesar salad, House Pepperoni Pizza, Gnocchi, and Cameroni. Our waiter was very attentive and even let us have a taste of a wine because we couldn't decide between two. They have a good wine and beer list. We could had done without the Caesar salad. Nothing special. The pastas were the winners of the night. The sauces were packed with flavors. The house pepperoni pizza was light on the hot honey but the crispy pepperonis made up for it.

Parking situation- safe and easy or not ? Thanks! I don't live in Berkeley so not sure at night ...

There is street parking. I'd be surprised if you had any issues during the time you dine, but it's not the best neighborhood. Just be aware of your surroundings and don't leave valuables in the car.

Is there a corkage fee? If so, how much? Thanks!

Yes it is $18. We waive a corkage fee for every bottle purchased off our list.

Do you ever have a seafood entree on the menu (branzino or salmon, for instance)?

We have not yet so far, but it is something we have talked about for the future.

Any details on the beer options?

We have four on tap. Currently pouring Faction IPA, Magnolia Kolsch, Almanac Hazy IPA, and Scrimshaw Pilsner

Aside from beef, does any of the meat come from pasture-based operations?

Yes! Our chicken is Rocky Jr free range. The lamb is Superior Farms (sustainably raised American lamb)

Is the beef/meat free range and grass-fed?

Hi Alanna... no the beef is not grass fed, we prefer the flavor of non-grass fed. To my knowledge there isn't any designation for free range beef

For our drinks, I had the Moonlight Blossom, my aunt had a glass of red wine, and my mom had a cucumber mint spritzer (mocktail as she was the DD). The moonlight blossom tasted similar to cherry limeade. The entrees we had were the mussels, veggie burger, and the chef's market pizza. The mussels themselves were tasty and appreciated that they were able to leave out the chorizo. However, I wish that they brought a spoon and there was more broth. I tried some of my mom's veggie burger and the red color from the beets made it stand out from the usual veggie burger. The fries tasted homemade. I had a slice of the pizza and while I like the ingredients themselves, the combination just didn't do it for me. The crust was good though! We also shared a green goddess salad, which was tasty. The desserts looked amazing but we had no room! Service was friendly and our waitress made good recommendations. Can park on the side streets or the garage. Restaurant was not noisy. The food also came out pretty quickly. The presentation of the pizza was top notch and I could not wait to dig in. The portion size was adequate. The vegan cheese was yummy and the spice level of the pizza was just right. The pizza was packed with flavor and thin crust! My friend liked the shakshouka too. Wood Tavern met the criteria for a relatively nice American restaurant in North Oakland. We visited for lunch and wanted to make this special for our mom, so we were perhaps a bit overdressed in business casual, but this is Oakland after all. On an ordinary Thursday, there were multiple groups waiting outside for the restaurant to open at 11:30 AM. That in itself should tell you how popular this place is. My wife and I dined at sister restaurant Southie next door a few years ago and really enjoyed it (I also rated it five stars on Yelp), so I was confident Wood Tavern would not disappoint. I initially booked our reservation using OpenTable to link it to my account and get 100 points. Since the max party size for Wood Tavern on OpenTable is four, I had to call to get it changed to eight. Due to the large party size, the restaurant also required me to give them my credit card info and be subject to a $25 per person no-show fee. Upon arrival, our tables were ready for us in the back corner near the open kitchen. The restaurant is true to its name with a shared bar and dining room space that evoke the feel of a wood tavern. As for what to order, I recommend all of the dishes we got. It really just depends on what you like and/or what you're in the mood for. Everyone loved the food. The beet salad was fresh and flavorful, the pastrami was one of the best I've had anywhere, my mom raved about the seafood stew, my brother-in-law gobbled up all of the casarecce, and the burger was outstanding. Service was polite and speedy. Our server Sophia C was awesome. The hostess was welcoming, and the staff who brought out our food were friendly. Unfortunately, our server provided a very different experience. Throughout the meal, he never checked on our table, even though we noticed him checking on the surrounding tables several times. At one point, the patio umbrella unexpectedly fell near our table. Instead of first asking if everyone was okay, his only response was, "Do you mind if I close the umbrella?" That was disappointing and made us feel overlooked. The only time his attitude became noticeably friendlier was when he brought the check. We happened to be the only Asian table that afternoon. Menus change daily for the downstairs restaurant and are posted in advance on the website, so that you can adjust your reservations once the menus are posted if you have any objections. Definitely make reservations a month out as soon as they're available for downstairs, but they can switch you to the upstairs café if you don't like what's being served in the downstairs restaurant that day. We took advantage of this option because one of our party does not eat fish or lamb. The café upstairs is more casual and items can be ordered à la carte from the seasonal menu. I enjoyed my Sonoma duck breast and carrot soup, but the winner was the cardamom mousse. I highly recommend any dish that features fresh produce, especially the bowl of fresh fruit for dessert.

Growing…read moreup in Berkeley, most people are well aware of the infamous restaurant that focuses on farm-to-table dishes and sustainable ingredients. When friends or classmates would tell me they dined here, I was like, " Wow, so boujee. Fast forward to today, and I had the opportunity to go for my Mom's birthday! My family made reservations, which are hard to come by. They need to be made well in advance. We arrived before our 8:30pm reservation and, unfortunately, weren't seated until after 9:00pm. Once inside the dining area, it was lively and loud, intimate, and somewhat more formal compared to their upstairs cafe. Service from all staff was kind; the host occasionally stopped by; our food was delivered, and we were checked on throughout. It was also lovely to peek inside the open-air kitchen. If you dine in their dining area, it's prix-fixe. On my Mom's birthday, they had a salad, pasta, steak, and ice cream. The salad was good--I don't eat mushrooms, but found it tasty and a bit over-dressed. My favorite was the pasta, a little spice. Warm from the noodles but cold from the cheese--the shrimp was nicely cooked. For our entrée, we had a rib-eye. I don't eat steak, but for this occasion I did--it was good, but because I rarely eat beef, I couldn't compare it to other rib-eyes I'd had. The vegetables were good and quite fresh. I gave the ice cream to my family since I don't have dairy, but the fruit was great! Overall I enjoyed more dishes than others. The bread and drinks were also good. I'd be curious to come back for a different prix-fixe. Chez Panisse is a must visit once restaurant in my opinion--whether you're local to the area or live in the Bay Area. Alice Waters is famous and has won a multitude of awards for a reason. I'm happy to have finally dined here and celebrated my Mom's birthday. The restaurant is off Shattuck Ave. with street parking around.

I especially love that they don't use dairy or seed oils in their dressings. I often get all veggie bowls and they are super filling. Much of the menu is also Daniel Fast- friendly

I will say, if you have somewhere to be *ORDER ONLINE*. I got there and was told to order from the self serve tablet (I could have done this on my phone ahead of time), but I put in my order and sat down to wait for it. At the 22 min mark, the two groups of two behind me got their food before I did, so I went up to the worker behind the bar and asked if my order was ready and I was told mine would be next. All in all- took 32 mins. So again, if you have somewhere to be- order ahead! Food was good. Could definitely tell it was made fresh to order - not only because it took some time but because my friend cauliflower came out PIPING hot. Lots of oil drippings, so if that isn't your thing, may not be for you, but I will say that it was my fav bite. This was a good restaurant- I would say 4 stars for the food alone. BUT if you're in a pinch, either order online or maybe save this spot for when you have more time. Also- I know that good quality food is pricey, this place is no exception. But you pay for what you get and the quality is better than that of fast food.
