Although their menu is small, you can tell they put a lot of time and effort into perfecting their dishes. We found their food to be full of flavor, yet still light! Our family of five ordered the Little Gem Salad, Roasted Beet Salad, Gnocchi, Steak Frites, Margherita Pizza, and Mushroom Pizza. I think their Roasted Beet Salad surprised me the most. It was just so refreshing on a hot summer day! My only complaint is that there seemed to be some miscommunication about the hand made pasta (that I really wanted to order) being sold out. We never ended up going to Berkeley Bowl because the lunch ruined our whole day and we didn't feel like being in Berkeley after that. Felt compelled to post a google and yelp review just because it was sooo good! This cozy vibrant spot is likely my new favorite restaurant in Berkeley! Great atmosphere with open kitchen, but the food and service was the real treat! We shared a bunch of plates as 2 couples and were so stuffed and couldn't finish it was so much food but also extremely tasty. Gnocchi and cod were out of this world! The potato pizza was really good and made for perfect left overs! Chianti paired well with everything! Def finish w some port and the cake like we did! Came here for dinner had the pork chop and lamb rack chops and ordered a burger to go. The pork was cooked perfectly along with the veggies and the sauce was so yummy. Lamb rack was medium rare which I think is the perfect temp and the risotto was so flavorful as well definitely a hearty dish. There's something very addicting about their fries too ordered another side after sneaking some out of the to go box the burger was very fresh and juicy served medium and remained juicy until I got home. Not a crazy variety of cocktails but the food is enough to keep me coming back. I'll be back to try the brunch menu! read more

I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was undoubtably the best I've ever had. The chicken was seasoned to perfection, not to crunchy, and unbelievably tender. It was crazy, like they must have double brined that chicken or something it was too tender. Oh and the aioli was perfect it complimented everything super well, also the brioche bun was nice and buttery and it wasn't to spongy at all. I also ordered the sandwich with a side of Mac and Cheese. All in all this is a solid sandwich and for 16 bucks. Trust me It's worth it!! as a 16 year old who has a dignified taste i know what good food is. Very nice little place! We a late lunch here yesterday. They offer an interesting variety of food on their brunch menu. We ordered Cameroni pasta and a side of crispy brussels sprouts. Both were delicious. There were plenty of brussels sprouts to share, and we took some home. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the sausage-tomato sauce was delicious. I was pleased that they gave us ice water, not the carafe of room-temperature water that is increasingly common in restaurants. They have tables and booths indoors. I've never eaten here prior and was craving gnocchi so we ordered that, the shishito peppers and the mezzaluna. the gnocchi was fluffy and flavorful, but the ground pork mixed in (vs. pulled) made it seem more like sloppy joe mix rather than a nice ragu. My main complaint is with portion sizes. Usually when we go out my partner and I share an appetizer and entree and that's plenty for us, this time like I mentioned we ordered 2 entrees and an app and were still pretty hungry after! We had a delightful family (all adults) meal at Creekwood recently. We were welcomed by multiple people. The food was quite good, the service was attentive without being intrusive, and the atmosphere was comfortable. Ordering was neither rushed nor overly slow. The food came out at a good pace for conversation. It was quite busy for a Sunday at 7pm and it was a bit loud, though not enough to prevent conversation. This is a nice special occasion restaurant. We will definitely be back. We had: Fried Gnuddi - delicious fried fluffy ricotta balls, wonderful! 5/5 Agnolotti - tasty pasta dish with ground chicken, 4/5 Gnocchi - amazing gnocchi in a scrumptious creamy pesto sauce. GET THIS DISH! Pardon my screaming, but these are the lightest, fluffiest gnocchi I have ever had. 5/5 and would rate them higher if I could. Speck Pizza - a skillfully crafted thin crust pizza. The flavor balance of speck (cured meat), blue cheese, and pear is so, so good. 5/5 Roasted Brussel Sprouts - a bit disappointing given how good everything else was. They were not very roasted and the flavor was one note. 3/5 For wine we had an excellent Chianti, Tenuta di Arceno 2016 I believe. It was just what I want in an Italian red wine. 5/5 Desserts were also disappointing. I will admit to being an ex pastry chef with high standards. The panna cotta had a nice flavor, but too much gelatin. The chocolate cake was rich and very chocolaty, but too dense (read hard or stiff, maybe slightly warming it would help?). What a fantastic find in south Berkeley! This was a celebratory meal for my wife and we were very happy with everything that Creekwood offers. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the owner. Food was stellar: Fried Gnudi as an appetizer was delightful; For my main, I ordered Cameroni pasta with pork ragu red sauce, lots of flavors, a hint of fennel and so good with the Sangiovese wine. My wife chose the grilled ribeye, cooked to medium-rare perfection. the side of roasted potatoes was nothing like we ever had in the past. Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. Having grown up in Berkeley, We were a little skeptical when we found out the restaurant was on Sacramento, (which is more of a residential area) but we were pleasantly surprised with the ambiance and over all look of the place! We had the gnudi and Brussels sprouts for appetizers. So I typically hate ricotta cheese but omg the fried gnudi was so good! It was perfectly crispy and creamy with a delicious tomato sauce to accompany it! For entrees, we shared the parpadelle, gnocchi, agnolotti and the special porterhouse. Everything was absolutely delicious but the gnocchi stole the show for me. They were perfect little pillows that just melt in your mouth. I would go back for that alone. As for service, our waiter, Ben was nice and attentive. The owner was walking around and checking on every table which was a great touch because you could see he takes pride in his restaurant! Ate here for brunch and the brunch menu is very limited. They were also out of orange juice for mimosas and either out of beignets or have stopped serving them entirely (I wasn't able to get a clear answer on this). One incredibly frustrating thing about this restaurant is that they don't provide their current menu on their website, so you have to either hope the pictures on Yelp are still accurate or try looking at what's available for online order, which, for me, was only showing their dinner menu. Honestly, we only really settled on this place for the promise of beignets and it turned out they weren't on the menu. Bummer. Anyway, what I did have was the fried chicken sandwich and it was very good. Also, I'm not usually a fan of plain potato chips but the chips that came with my sandwich were fantastic. I'm guessing they had a bit of malt vinegar baked into them or something but, either way, something about them was unique and very tasty. I also had a bit of their bacon, which was very good as well. Parking was my biggest concern, but it was no problem at all. It's all street parking, so there are probably times where it can be difficult, but I found a spot very close by, no problem. Also, the entire area directly in front of the restaurant is short-term 20 min parking, but only on weekdays, so if you're showing up on a weekend, you may even be able to get a spot right there (there were plenty available when we were there on a Sunday midday). Overall, the food and service were great, but, with how limited the brunch menu is and not being able to tell what it includes ahead of time, I'll try to return for dinner sometime, but I'd probably go somewhere else for brunch. read more

We came to Creekwood for brunch. Everything was absolutely delicious! The pork chops melts in ur mouth was super flavorful, the hash browns were crispy, deep fried French toast was delicious, the omelette was soft and cheesy and all the filling was perfectly sautéed. We were all very impressed and excited about our new find.We waited a bit they were kind of busy on Sunday morning but definitely not too crazy and more then worth the wait. Super friendly staff! Oh my!! This place is the best! We are a brunch group of 10 and we went to this restaurant today.... you can count these 5 stars times 10. There are 3 ladies in the group that are very tough graders. They loved it! You must try the beignets! My tough graders ordered more... Our Server was amazing! She was very patient with us...we are all seniors. So very pleasant! What a cutie! I forgot my card in the restaurant and she chased me down and returned it! Sorry we were kinda loud at times but that's what happens when you have happy customers! We plan tome back soon.
