We tried this place for the first time. The vegetable omelette was huge, enough for two to split. I love the fact that the onions were caramelized, and not just raw chopped into the eggs. There was a wide variety of crêpes and pancakes. My friend and I split an omelette and a raspberry crêpe. The crêpes are amazing, thin and delicious. I was full until dinner time. Used to come here for breakfast when they were under a different name. They aren't as good as they used to be. My wife and I got omelettes. Nice that you can do a side of 2 pancakes instead of toast if you want to, and their pancakes are decent, not knock your socks off, but decent. Omelettes are the ones where the ingredients are actually cooked in the egg, not just thrown on the egg at the last minute when they fold it. The ingredients are kinda fresh. I got a spartan omelette that has spinach. The spinach was either frozen or sitting in water because it made the omelette watery and had uncooked egg where the spinach was. My wife got a broccoli and cheese omelette. The broccoli was old and stalky, it wouldn't even cut. She ended up not eating any of the broccoli. Place needs a good cleaning. Edges of all the tables are sticky, like they clean the tops, but ignore the edges. They refill their hot sauce bottles, which is fine but they are putting Tabasco in a franks hot sauce bottle, which is deceiving. So won't be back, they used to be better when they were a different name. Not sure if they are new owners or what, but the quality is down from what it used to be. read more

Many renditions for this location over the years, I like this restaurant version the best. The menu is varied, the service is good and the cooks do a very good job. We've been here twice for breakfast and each time the food was plentiful and hot. The prices are a little bit high but you get what you pay for. There is plenty of room for seating with both tables and booths. The place is clean with good lighting. You can dine inside or outside. The coffee cups are tiny and the coffee isn't that strong but overall the coffee experience is OK. They have a bar but I don't see spirits listed on the menu so I don't know if they serve alcohol. The location is easy to get to, right off of Mound, and there is plenty of parking. read more

We had such a great experience at the Crepe House. My grandpa, the notorious picky eater of the family, demanded we go back the next weekend so we could enjoy more crepes. The menu is robust and offers something for everyone. I don't see how you can't have leftovers after ordering a meal here. Inside was clean and the staff was friendly- I felt very comfortable dining here even with COVID going on. It's always nice to support a local business. I was really looking forward to trying this place out. The menu had a lot to choose from and a breakfast place with turkey sausage selections is always a bonus for us. However, I had definitely had my hopes and standards set much too high. I had ordered the peach crepe while my husband ordered a vegetarian omelette and our daughter got the Mickey Mouse pancake. Of these items the only brag-worthy items were ths pancake and whip that came with it. The peaches and sauce that came with the crepe seemed as if straight from a can but added some thickener to the canned peach juice. At one point I quoted to my husband "they did not get their peaches out in Georgia". The biggest turn off in the omelette, according to my husband, was the broccoli, to which he referred to them as balls of mush. Water also had a bad taste. read more

Very rarely would I give any restaurant a 1 star. After I left I looked at the reviews and realized I experienced almost all of the negatives that other people expressed, all in one visit. Service was very slow. My reaction was, "Well, this is a new place so maybe they don't realize that they need more servers." But then I saw that this place has been open for five years! Servers' excessive time walking around filling coffee cups could have been better spent. I got coffee quickly but then had to wait about 10 or 15 minutes before anyone looked at me to take my order. The food when I finally got it after another long wait was just OK. (Long story but I don't want to be mean.) The server did not check on me one time. (But I sure got a lot of offers for more coffee.) The bathroom smelled like sewage. That might not be their fault, but that contributes to a negative experience. Another thing that annoyed me was that they were serving food with plates on top of each other (so the bottom of one plate would be touching the food on the plate under it). Im not sure if that's officially a health code violation, but it definitely seems unsanitary to me. So .... Slow service, food plates on top of each other, questionable meal, sewage smell in bathroom. Oh I forgot one. Paper menu with huge coffee stain on top. Why are they recycling paper menus? If they are going to do that at least make sure they don't look like that! So add that to the list. read more

We came here for lunch and it was just okay. Nothing overwhelmed us or set this place apart except for the extensive menu. The breakfast choices look amazing and maybe I should have tried a breakfast rather than lunch. I had the Monte Cristo sandwich which was just so-so. The waitstaff seemed polite but not overly friendly. The atmosphere of the restaurant seemed okay. Prices were reasonable. Service seemed to be what we expected as far as wait time. My family and I were excited to try this place. The food was just okay but then I found a hair in my food about halfway thru. I showed the server and she kept saying there was nothing there. This is mine and my husbands go to breakfast spot! It's literally a few miles away from our house and we had passed it SO many times without ever going in. Thankfully we did! It's so family oriented and just really matches the name. You feel like you're at grandmas when you walk in which is sooo special!! So like I said, my husband and I come here almost every Sunday even though we have a rule to try a new spot every week. We always get omelettes, side of bacon and then a sweet item and it. never. fails. When you go, please get the apple pancakes. They are Heavenly!! So fluffy and light and the apples are warm but crunchy still. I can rave so much about this place but we come here so often, I really don't even know what we've had at this point! Just GO! Since moving away from The Stuffed Bun we landed a new morning stop here in Shelby at Granmas. I can't get away from the Fritta Skillet. It's spicy, hot, delicious, lots of it and comes with toast or pancakes... Pancakes!!! Did I mention it has Chorizo?! One day i dream of trying their Blintzes and Crepes but I never seem to order anything else:). The staff is great they keep the coffee rolling and take good care of you. Family run=family great. 1 star because i have to and that's only for the drinks. I've worked in many restaurants when I was younger so I USUALLY have a high level of respect and compassion for wait staff. My boyfriend ordered the cinnamon french toast and sausage patties. The sausage patties come out literally BLACK burned on one side and dang near raw on the other. The French toast, the menu says it comes with powdered sugar & whipped cream, it comes out without it, we send it back real quick, NO BIG DEAL. He takes a bite of the French toast. He gets a bite for me to try and as soon as he picked up the bite I saw a hair dangling. I literally pulled it out of the batter. Again, we didn't make it a big problem, we just asked for it to be remade. However the waitress did not seem to care or be apologetic at all and if anything seemed irritated that we even asked for it to be remade. It took what felt like 15 mins no exaggeration for his FRENCH TOAST to come back. His plate comes back out, again, no whipped cream or powdered sugar. She takes the plate back with her but brings out whipped cream in a bowl "with powdered sugar at the bottom" on the side. -__- At this point I'm done eating my food (which was very much mediocre but not bad) so we asked for a manager. We explained everything to the manager, she literally looked at the sausage and before my boyfriend could say anything about it said "oh yeah yeah yeah that's burnt". We come to the conclusion to just take his food off of our bill. As we're waiting for our bill the cook and our waitress approach our table with a very agitated demeanor and tone, literally arguing and yelling with us because we just didn't want it anymore after the obvious health code violations, and poor service even after finding hair in the food and given obviously poorly cooked meat. That was just the big finale to our one and only time trying this place. read more

Had breakfast here with parents and my sister. Very nice place. The menu had good options. I chose the spinach and Monterey Jack crepe with hollandaise sauce. The crepe didn't seem cooked all the way. I couldn't taste the cheese either. The size of my breakfast was really good. I had 2 huge crepes. The flavor was still good, but it was a lot of food for me, with no side. I tried some of my sister's bacon and it was good and I tried some toast. Also very good. Delightful. If I had to use one word to explain the service, food, and environment, it would be delightful. Our server, Vera, made us feel like family and assured the food would be amazing and top quality: it was. We ordered biscuits and gravy with sausage and the combo skillet with pancakes. The biscuits and gravy were some of the best I've yet to eat: full of flavor and as one who LOVES pepper the pepper taste in this dish was mouth watering. The combo skillet was also delicious and the potatoes were definitely freshly cut and cooked, as well with the veggies too. And the pancakes? Well I'm not a big fan of pancakes, but these were perfect. They had just the right amount of fluff and a golden exterior, and the whipped butter given gave it its perfect final finish. With no plan to come to this restaurant, it was one of the best mistakes I've come to make. And now I can't wait to come here again! I highly recommend this restaurant. I have no complaints and only satisfactory comments. All elements for this restaurant were filled with love, passion, and great taste. What more could you ask for. read more

Picked my daughter up from volleyball which was across the street. Family dinner restaurant in a strip mall. Average menu. I ordered a Gyros and my daughter ordered off the children's menu. The waitress came back a few minutes later asking my daughters age. We told her 11 and she look over at the manager (waitress referred to her as the manager but believe she is the owner) who gave a frowned look and gestured no. The waitress said sorry but you have to be under 10. Most children's menus are under 12. It became a bigger deal since the same options were not available in the adult menu and I then had to order more than an 11 yr old girl would eat. The owner looked at us like we were trying to pull some big child's menu scam. When the meals finally came - I would describe the food as mediocre and combined with the previous ordering - We will not return. read more
