oh my goodness, i have one word "Teri!" everyone needs to ask for Teri the next time you go in. she is seriously phenomenal when it comes to serving you with a smile. My boyfriends apple pancake came out a little burnt, but we aren't complainers so we didn't care. Teri saw the burnt pancake, came up to us and took it off our bill AND gave us another one on the house. she was seriously so amazing, we will be asking for her every single time we come back. The food is always amazing when we go, just this time it was a little busy so we are sure that is the reason the pancake was a little burnt. Very simple went early on a Friday morning because my family raved about this place that we had to try Whitewater in town but told me on the weekends they're always super busy with a long line So many great options from the Dutch to the Apple cinnamon breakfast We visited on a Friday morning. There was no wait and we were able to be sat right away. We got the southwest omelette, which was massive filled with onions and peppers and vegetables with cream and salsa. The big breakfast with two links to bacon and ham, eggs, hashbrowns, and pancake pancakes In the star of our show the blueberry pancakes There's so many options that it's hard to choose, but knowing that we had blueberry pancakes is what I stuck with. They were delicious and fresh with a great blueberry taste. The shelf is omelette was fluffy, filled with all of our favorite veggies and lots of sides of cream and salsa Our waiter did a good job of making sure we had drinks and everything we needed for our breakfast. He can come back to make a double check. Well, as much as I enjoy a good breakfast, value for what you get is lacking at the factory. First off service overall is solid. Ambiance is okay. Nothing special. Tables could be cleaner. Nothing worse than leaning on the table only to have your shirt sticking to it. As for the food, my go to is the flapjacks. 3 thin pancakes. It would be nice if these were made all the same size and all cooked the same as far as doneness. Seems the trick is the chef makes one pancake a good size, and it's browned perfectly. However the other pancake is not cooked as well (not as golden brown as the top pancake) and both the other pancakes are smaller than the top piece. Come on pancake factory you can do better. Please. The kicker is prices keep going up. Guess what, I'd be willing to pay more if I still get the same quantity and quality as in the past. Overall very frustrating experience to say the least. I'd consider other options until PF can make consistent pancakes the same size and cooked the same. read more

This little place in the strip mall is definitely as good as any pancake House you can go to. It definitely stands out because they have such a wide variety of styles. I had a Dutch baby and it was delicious. They offered fresh fruit on top of it with whipped cream and it just made it a great experience. I waitress was friendly and seemed to know most of the other people in there so this is definitely a spot where people return day after day. If you haven't tried it you need to at least stop in one day it doesn't have to be a special day it could be just today you want to try something different. read more

This was my second time here. Our service was fantastic. Garrett greeted us and had us laughing the whole time - as if we had known him for years. It took a few minutes to decide what we wanted. I ended up getting the Southwest Garden Pancake and my dining partner got the Western Omelette. Both were fantastic. I added sausage to my 'pancake' which was actually more like a quiche/frittata and really enjoyed it. We were quite surprised to find out that hash browns do not come with the omelette. Given the price of their often baked omelets ($12 for the Western) we expected it to come with the toast and hash browns. Overall, if you're in the area, I would stop in. Looked for a local breakfast place during a recent visit to Detroit for a wedding. We found this place about a mile from our hotel in a northern suburban area. The Pancake Factory is a pretty large restaurant and our group of five was seated pretty promptly, despite the fact that we arrived about 9:30 on a Saturday morning. My wife had a huge greek omelet that was full of tomato, onion, spinach and feta. Pancake Factory bakes their omelets so it was pretty toasted on the outside and a bit more done on the inside than she would have liked, but still very good. I had something called a Shelby Benedict.....poached egg and sausage on top of English muffin, topped with some kind of mushroom/sausage/cheese sauce. It was again a huge portion, very filling, and tasty. Coffee was really, really good. Service from Garrett was attentive and fun. Thanks Pancake Factory for a good start to our Saturday. read more

Have come here often over the last few years. So many things I like keep me coming back. First is their bacon - thick cut and flavorful. And their Ban Berry Crepes with their fresh whipped cream. Omg ... you will remember these and that craving will sneak up on you to come back again! Coffee always hot and delicious with fresh creamer. Eggs, omelettes always good. We haven't tried their oven baked specialties yet. We like the back garden room the best as it is a little quieter and a nice airy atmosphere. Once in awhile, I let someone talk me into early breakfast on my day off, but that's on a rare occasion. lol I'm usually a brunch girl on the weekend, which means 11-2 PM and cocktails are a must. haha Today, was a little different. Being Memorial Day, not too many places were open in the city and we both had plans taking us in the opposite directions, so an early breakfast was perfect. The Pancake Factory is a little out of my way, but my friend lives out this way so I decided to take the drive. We both opted for coffee to drink. I ordered the Garden Dutch Baby and he ordered the Flapjacks with a mixed fruit topping. We ended up splitting our meals in half: Savory & Sweet. We both enjoyed our breakfast and even had left overs. If you decide to get one of the specialty pancakes it's a process and takes approximately 25 minutes to bake. My wife's favorite place for breakfast. She thinks the potato pancakes are the best and has tried them at a lot of restaurants. Her next favorite is the big apple which is puffed up and covers the entire plate. I am traditional with eggs, bacon and hash browns. I like my eggs lightly poached without any excess water when served and they do them perfectly. The bacon is super thick with a great smoke. I noticed right off that the menu was heavily "inspired" by the Original Pancake House. A good thing, as it turns out, because they do a great job on the OPH classics like the huge Apple Pancake and Potato Pancakes. I ordered the Apple Pancake, and if you've never had one, let me describe it for you. It's a huge plate-size, oven-baked confection that's got a crisp, cinnamon glaze. This is every bit as good as the Original Pancake House's version. The Apple Pancake does take longer to arrive, and this is true regardless of where you order one, so plan accordingly. The side of bacon I ordered was really good. It's thick cut and really flavorful. It's smoky flavor was a really nice contrast to the sweetness of the apples. The server literally tossed the plates at us. She then brought back a side of sausage and again tossed the plate to the point where all the links flew off of the plate. I had corned beef hash that looked and tasted very nasty. When you are paying 20 dollars a person for breakfast (when including tip), I would certainly expect better quality. I rarely write reviews but felt compelled as this was such a miserable experience as it relates to service AND quality of food. Not a place to go to anymore. I enjoyed a lunch here with my mom and we both ordered breakfast items. She had French Toast and I ordered one of their specials which was Black Forest French Toast. Ohhhh my goodness.... talk about delicious! It had raspberries in a delicious raspberry sauce poured over the pieces of French Toast, chocolate drizzle and whipped cream. Every bite was savory and filling. (I enclosed a picture of the awesome Black Forest French Toast just because it looked so good before I even took my first bite). The floor was a bit slippery up front due to what seemed like a light coating of grease and I slipped and almost lost my balance. I was more concerned for my mom who is elderly, so I had to take her arm and assist her so she didn't slip. I absolutely love this place. The Pancake Factory if you are not familiar is super similar to The Pantry Restaurant. They have the same types of huge pancakes, omelets, and all kinds of breakfast items. I've been coming here for probably 6 years and although there is a pantry location closer to me, I prefer to come here. You do have to usually wait awhile to get in. It's a super busy place but for good reason. There's a ton of stuff working here so it's not really their fault that the place is hopping. If you show up on a Saturday or Sunday morning when everybody else does you could easily have to wait 45 minutes to an hour. I realize that that's not ideal or doable for some situations, but if you can do it I definitely recommend it. My favorite thing to get here is the garden basket. It's like a egg frittata / souffle / delicious breakfast egg concoction. Every time I go here and I have that or anything else it always tastes the same as the first time I tried it. The consistency means that they know what they do and they do it well. If you are in the area and have time to have a delicious breakfast whether it's by yourself or with your friends or family, you should definitely make the Pancake Factory a stop on your list. We met here for breakfast. We were told there was a 20 min wait. We were seated in 10 min. We chatted with other people waiting for their tables and they said that they went to three other places which all had 40 min Waits due to staffing issues. This place was packed! But they appeared to be fully staffed! We had a great server who was prompt and extremely friendly and polite. Terrific service. The food though!!!! Holy smokes!! Why am I always on a diet when I go to these places?? They had these unique baked pancakes that I wanted really badly!!! But I'm trying so very hard to stay low carb (I love beer, so I keep failing. Boo). I chose the ham and cheese omelette. He chose the crepes which I did taste and they were fantastic! He also ate my pancakes. Today is the last time I place a carry out order or visit this establishment. I arrive at the restaurant and there is a line so I say to everyone "excuse me I'm just picking up a carryout order" so they know I'm not cutting in line. Meanwhile, I wait a minute (and can see my bag of food sitting right behind the station). The hostess (a middle age, rude women) approaches and I say nicely "Im here to pick up my carry out order and wasn't sure where to go." She looks at me and says they were here first. Then says "how many - 3?" to them and they say "no 7 and the entire party isn't here yet". "Oh that may be a minute." Then she goes to the people behind them and seats them while I'm still standing there watching my food get cold. She then comes back to see if the rest of the 7 top has arrived. They had not. So, finally she decides to acknowledge me and give me the bag of food that was sitting behind the counter the entire time. I've never been to another establishment that makes customers wait behind 10 people (who are all waiting to be seated) to simply pick up a carry out order. I paid $18.50 for a so-so ham and cheese omelette and had to deal with a very rude employee - so not worth it! read more

On my first visit I tried the Garden Pancake, which didn't come close to my favorite version of this, the Garden Suprise at The Pantry. However in looking around at plates at neighboring tables, I wanted to try other menu items. This time I ordered the Fresh Vegetables & Cheese omelet with American cheese and pancakes. While the pancakes were only okay, I discovered something incredible: this is the best vegetable omelet I've ever had! Up until now my gold standard was the vegetable omelet with mixed cheese at The Original Pancake House. This is very similar, perfectly baked, smaller, but absolutely delicious. I did not expect this and am so happy this isn't a long drive from my home. Bravo for creating this omelet! Looking forward to ordering this again and trying more items from the menu. read more
