The good things: The front counter staff member is personable, pleased to interact w/customers, and knowledgable about the food and beverages. The crepes were buttery and well-made. I hoped that the dessert crepes will also be delicious. The staff member (a petite, Latina young lady) with the long braid appeared not to enjoy working with the public. The table that we were seated at was not cleaned prior to sitting down, the table had multiple places with dried food on its surface. My companion let the server know that the table needed to be cleaned. We waited until the table was cleaned to begin eating lunch. This "cleaning" was done by the waitress w/the long, two- toned ponytail. She came to the table with a small, moist washcloth, she dabbed at the half of the table, (the part where we weren't seated), and it appeared that she was unhappy to be performing that duty. The other 1/2 of the table was left uncleared w/dried food still on the table. My companion and I looked at each other and sighed, we'd hoped to return to this restaurant, so - we awaited the food. The salad looked good. The chicken, mushroom & black olives crepe looked good. The smoothie looked good. The salad was good The crepe was rich, tasting and good. The smoothie was watery., but it WAS hot outside, so... My companion was very dissatisfied w/the French onion soup; it was watery and tasted like instant soup, there weren't many onions in the soup, there was no sherry in the soup, the French bread that is usually on the top of French onion soup, was croutons, the cheese on top of the soup was partially melted. The soup was a major disappointment. The dirty table was disappointingly, but could have been easily and smilingly resolved. The sullen waitress was a problem. The homeless guy who came into the patio, after exhibiting some loud response to a synapse misfiring, plugged up his phone in the patio outlet, and stood outside to await his phone charge. We left rapidly when he ambled in. It's a shame; this is a nice location, they could tweek the soup recipe, ingredients & preparation, retrain and/or replace some of the serving staff - and the result would be more return customers and customer satisfaction. My partner and I have ordered from here more times than I can count, so it's really upsetting to end up having to write this review to give them 2 stars. This is due to their questionable customer service to people who have ordered from them at LEAST 30 times. No that's not an exaggeration; we truly are loyal customers. More often than not my partner would get me the Paris Special with a few modifications, and they've always made it delicious. I would definitely get it with varying amounts of sauce, but it was always enough to find the meal very enjoyable. Fast forward to today, my partner brought me back the exact same dish I have ordered 10+ times, and this time I found it way too dry to eat. The sauce was incredibly abysmal. So my partner walks back to tell them about this and whoever he confronts tells him to bring BACK the entire dish. I understand that there are people out there who want to get a free meal this way, but why would they do that to customers who have been there so many times? Couldn't they request a picture? Before I'm accused of wanting to keep the dish, I want to emphasize how infuriating it was to have to take a total of 3 round trips for ONE item. The first trip to go get the meal, second to tell them what happened, and third to bring back the stupid dish they're going to have to discard anyways. So yeah...I'm just really disappointed with how they've treated us, and now I feel like I'll think twice before ordering again since they make you jump through hoops to fix an issue. To whoever is reading this, make sure your dish is up to par as soon as you get it. Very comforting, soothing combination. The food!!! They have a large menu with many options, both savory and sweet. On the first visit, I ordered the Ham & Cheese. It was wonderful. I've had a similar one at CrepeMaker in Irvine (no longer open). There's something really special about the texture of these crepes, though, and that is what drew me back for a second visit. This time I ordered the Vive La France (sans red peppers). Shrimp, mozzarella/Parmesan cheeses, all in a creamy white wine sauce. The taste was UNREAL. It was on par with the best meal I've ever had in my life, and that was Coq Au Vin. This is certainly the best crepe I've ever tasted in my life...no contest or question. At some point I'll have to try their sweet crepes, as both visits have been focused on the savory ones. The service is kind and excellent as well, and they always make a couple rounds after delivering your food to make sure your meal is going well. I ate here yesterday by chance and I liked the food but I can't get over the employee not properly wearing a mask. It covered his mouth but not his nose. I asked him to please fix his mask and he ignored me. They have a sign in the front with very clear instructions on how masks are to be worn while inside the establishment which clearly the employees aren't taking seriously and leaves me to wonder if other patrons are as well. We're a year into this pandemic. There's no excuses to not wear a mask properly inside a business. Seeing as others have yelped the same thing, clearly it's an unfortunate trend here. Oh dear. So disappointing. We were there for breakfast and had: Scrambled eggs (overcooked and bland), toast (low quality), and hash browns (cold and served in a puddle of oil or clarified butter?). Then Mixed Berry Crepe - not a fresh berry in the bunch, all frozen and thawed and served. Ugggh. Very abundant serving if you don't care about the quality. Tough crepe - you can't cut into it without both a knife and fork. Same thing with our next crepe - the Crepe Suzette. Tough texture and the topping was not at all wonderful. This was so much food - we just wanted to try the place out so we over-ordered. I went home hungry because I couldn't eat more than a few bites of anything. Honestly, I'm being generous with 2 stars. Plus we ate outside and the place was not tidied up - kind of in shambles looking around. Table and chairs were clean- so I'm not saying that part was unacceptable. Only one other customer. I placed an order on GrubHub and it was the worst! I placed it well ahead for pick up and the original time was 10:01am. I went in at 10:05 because my drive was from the Torrance to Pasadena, so it should have been more than enough time. All bad, when I asked, the first female stated that GrubHub has just processed the order and a second female at the register was somewhat apologetic but stated they were behind on their orders. I checked on my order and it then stated that pick up was going to be between 10:19-10:39, so I called GrubHub and they stated that the restaurant or place had moved the time on their own, yet the place was blaming GrubHuB. GrubHub also stated that they submitted the order and it was processed 2 mins after, yet I was going on 40 mins of waiting. Then I went inside again and was waiting when one of the females asked me if I still wanted my order, I was so confused because I had not cancelled with them. I answered just that, "I'm still here and I have not cancelled anything." She asked again and I reiterated what I said. I also told her I was confused and she stated that they had not started on my order because she thought I was going to cancel. I was so upset! I asked her for their names and she asked me why I needed to know. I explained, she was representing the place where she was working at and I wanted to speak or eventually write to the owner and mention her name. She ignored me and walked away instead. She had bleached long hair and I think her name was Virginia, unless she told GrubHub another name. The other female had dark black hair with glasses and displayed some empathy or my wait time and tried to explain that they only had one chef and lost of orders. I would have understood, but behind the counter and in the cooking area, the chef or cook was actually on his cell phone and when I inquired about it, the first female with the long bleached hair came and stated that he was supposedly talking to their manager, no gloves, no sanitation, no nothing and when he noticed that I mentioned that, he moved from the view. I called GrubHub again this was an hour later and still no food. GrubHub offered $5.00 refund, I was livid!!! The same female with the bleached long hair on a ponytail came out and just handed me a bag and walked away with a word. Rude service, untimely mannerisms, and No, I didn't try their food after all of this. They messed up my Mother's Day breakfast. I ordered the CHICKEN & SPINACH CREPE with a ICED COFFEE. The crepe was delicious however, it was smothered in sauce. I felt like I was eating more sauce than anything. Perhaps lighten up on the sauce? or maybe put it on the side and let the customer decide how much of the sauce they want? Mid-way through my dish I was pretty sick of it because my crepe was soggy, and covered in the sauce. :/ I'll definitely give this spot a go again, I really liked that they had sweet crepe options that are similar to how it's served in France by street vendors.
