First time at this location. Just like any other Tartine you will find freshly baked bread, muffins, croissants, cookies and more. Also sandwiches salads and drinks. I ordered the baguette sandwich which was delicious. Fresh and flavorful. Cold brew with milk was ok a bit too strong for me but I enjoyed it as well. There is outdoor sitting only, the indoor area is small. Customer service was ok.

I came here because I was really craving sourdough and honestly couldn't find many places in the San Gabriel Valley area that offered freshly baked sourdough so I was really happy when I stumbled upon this one. I had heard of this bakery because they also have several locations throughout SoCal and the Bay Area and have heard good things about it. This location is located in Pasadena and I couldn't find parking so I parked a few streets away. When I got to the front of the bakery, I saw that there was plenty of seating outside of the bakery and none inside when I went inside the bakery. I saw that there were breads drinks, and pastries available for sale. Since I only wanted sourdough bread that was the only thing I bought, but I was happy that they offered a full loaf and a half loaf. The cashier was really nice and I was in and out of the store within five minutes. I will definitely check out this bakery again to continue buying sourdough bread from here because it was actually really good and I am curious to try their pastries and drinks next time the sourdough bread is baked fresh daily, and the inside of the bread was really soft.

Overall, my lunchtime experience here was lovely. The sun was shining and I was greeted by a dozen little birds chirping from up in the five-story high trees. To sit inside or outside? The decision was easy. OUTSIDE SEATING ONLY. Good thing I had just escaped the lunch rush. A few items were already snatched by the time I arrived around 1:30. However, I had no problem finding a table, and I got to watch the to-go slash grab & go line move with speedy service while I slowly deliberated over my order. ** SOMETHING SAVORY ** I eyeballed the AVOCADO TARTINE. The description of cashew salsa, nutritional yeast, and cilantro sounded healthy. And the Smoked SALMON TARTINE with dill and pickled red onion looked good too. Then the bakery case caught my eye. Oooh, I could have my savory and my sweet too. So I went for a classic French bakery item: PAN AU JAMON. It was very flavorful, rich with cheese, and the ham had a hint of smokiness. It was a bit greasier than I had expected and I'm pretty sure it was like a gajillion calories, but I tried not to think about it. ** SOMETHING SWEET ** I sampled the ALMOND-LEMON TEA CAKE. It was a bit saturated in butter, but had a nice tartness to it. My sweet tooth got a major sugar rush. Perhaps a bit too sweet for my taste. Lemon Cream Tart or Banana Cream Tart? I deliberated over that for a while and ultimately chose to bring home a BANANA CREAM TART. The chocolate shavings and fresh bananas made me go ape nuts. Even the tart shell was delish. I highly recommend this one. Overall, Tartine baked goods were good. Next time, I'm coming back for a menu item named after this restaurant.

Only had a chance to try the coffee (loved it). The lady at the counter was nice. Definitely will return to try the food. Too bad there isn't indoor seating... the trees outside have little solid berry-like droppings that come down at startling speeds lol maybe umbrellas will come soon?

This is only for the presentation of their sandwiches. Their pastries are a 4 stars plus, but Why is there a wilted dirty looking carrot in my sandwich.

Tartine is one of my favorite spots in Pasadena. Their coffee is so good but their tuna sandwich might be the best around. Soooo good and fresh!

Lemon Tart Heaven (Plus a Side of Almond Milk Cappuccino Bliss) I've had more lemon tarts than I can count, but this one? Easily the best I've ever had. The filling is silky-smooth and perfectly balanced--not too sweet, not too tart. The crust is just right: subtly buttery, holds together without being too crumbly, and adds just enough texture without stealing the spotlight. And the cream? Oh wow. It doesn't just complement the tart--it competes for best element on the plate. Soft, fluffy, and luxurious. They only give you a dollop, which makes sense--it's gold--but I wouldn't complain if the whole tart came covered in it. The edible flowers are a classy touch too. Yes, it's a bit of a splurge, but absolutely worth it. I also had an almond milk cappuccino, and it was perfection--creamy, rich, and the foam game was on point. The location is great too--tucked under the trees, just off Colorado Blvd, so it feels relaxed and slightly tucked away from the busy stretch. Just a heads-up: parking can be tricky. We come here almost every weekend and usually have great service, but I'll be honest--on this particular visit, I waited a solid five minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. The staff were deep in a personal convo behind the counter, and it wasn't until after the barista told me they'd be with me shortly that the group finally wrapped up their chat. Not ideal, but I get it--humans are human. And honestly? I forgive them. Because that lemon tart? 100% worth the wait.

We've been wanting to try this place for a while because we are in search of all of the good sourdough breads in the city. Tartine is one of the flagships. We ended up getting half a loaf of their country bread, an egg sando, toast with butter & jam, an almond croissant, a ham and cheese croissant, an oatmilk latte, and a black tea. This is not a lot of food....and it cost over $70. Many have said on here that they are expensive and the service is kind of blah. Can confirm on all of this. The egg sando is on a brioche bun with the equivalent of maybe an egg and a half, with some sprinkling of arugula, and this was $16. The croissants were good. The bread itself, though, was surprisingly disappointing. Good open crumbs in the bread, but it felt like they overtoasted it, and it came out more crostini than toast. They also put butter on it, and gave us MORE butter and some jam, and that was $9. For basically toast and jam. Croissants were around $7, and drinks were $5-7. So, this adds up. The eggs in the egg sando was nice and pillowy and good. Pretty small though. The toast was ok. The croissants were very good. We dug into the half loaf for dinner, and it was honestly...just ok. Not as complex in flavor as I would have expected from such a prominent bakery, and it lacked a textual balance between the crust carmelization and the soft interior (it felt harsh all the way through in both texture and flavor). I prefer Bub & Grandma's honestly - taste wise and texture wise feels more balanced. Seating is outdoors only. It's pretty chill.

It's Tartine, how can you miss? My Apple hand pie was packed with flavor from the spices and juices. I just wish it had more fruit. The crust is flaky and buttery but not too greasy. I hear the poppy seed lemon cake is really good.

    Devil's food cake slice
    Maansi S.

I've visited tartine in San Francisco often so I was looking to kill time in Pasadena and saw this Tartine. The devil's food cake was so delicious when I got it in SF but here I wish they heated the cake slightly. The chocolate frosting in the layers was really rigid. I've had it heated when I would get it in SF and I swear it's the BEST chocolate cake I've ever had. Also, this location only has outdoor seating and the tables/chairs aren't the tidiest. There were little fruit flies flying around when I was seated outside and it even landed on my slice of cake :( I wouldn't come back to this location unfortunately. I'll check out the other locations around LA county and see if they are a better fit.

    EGG SANDWICH on country sourdough
    Reveka G.

Delish! The food did not disappoint. Our breakfast sandwiches tasted amazing. And, the butter croissant may be in my top 3, now. The appearance, texture, honeycomb, and richness was top notch. I just prefer a bit more tang. I appreciate that they use quality products which you could taste. I'm docking one point for atmosphere. The layout on the cafe was somewhat cumbersome, lacking flow. The staff were great, but very little flexibility for modifications. Maybe I'm nit picking, but a bit of investment to improve the appearance and comfort of the restaurant and seating would make this place so much better.

    Iced matcha latte
    Jessica Y.

Was trying to kill some time while waiting for people. Yelped this spot nearby to give a try. Parked at the meters. The store was bustling with people on a Sunday morning. Quite a selection of breads, pastries ans drinks. Bought a loaf of multigrain porridge bread which tastes a bit like sourdough and kind of dry. I did microwave it the next day which made the center soft and tasty. Also tried the morning bun latte amd iced matcha latte. The drinks were good. Seemed a bit pricier than other cafes tho. There is seating outdoors.

On the positive side, the prices are reasonable, the dining room has a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff is generally attentive. Overall, it's a decent neighborhood breakfast restaurant - nothing particularly memorable, but nothing especially disappointing either. The Reyn Special - 3/5. A classic breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, hash browns, and banana bread. The eggs and bacon are fairly average, although the bacon tends to be overcooked and dry. The standout is the hash browns. They're cooked with a nicely browned, crispy crust while still remaining fairly moist inside. The real highlight, however, is the banana bread. It tastes homemade and is easily the best item on the plate. Crepes - 1/5. This dish comes as two separate plates: one with the ricotta-filled crepes and another with eggs, sausage, bacon, and your choice of fries or tater tots. Unfortunately, the crepes are the weakest part of the meal. The ricotta-filled crepes don't taste freshly made and instead resemble a pre-made food-service product that's simply reheated before serving. Both the crepe and ricotta filling have a generic flavor with noticeable artificial notes. You can choose either banana or strawberry topping, but both sauces taste overly processed and artificial. The accompanying breakfast plate is noticeably better. I chose the tater tots, which were well prepared - crispy on the outside while remaining soft inside. The bacon, however, was again overcooked and dry, making it tough to chew. The sausage was acceptable but unremarkable. Scrambled Supreme - 2.5/5. Despite the name, this is essentially an omelet. The eggs have a mild, neutral flavor, and the fillings are okay but don't stand out. Coffee - 2/5. The coffee is classic diner coffee in every sense. It's somewhat watery, heavily roasted, and finishes with a flat, slightly bitter aftertaste. It's neither particularly good nor particularly bad - just standard coffee that does the job. Overall, The Reyn succeeds as a comfortable, affordable breakfast spot with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. While the food is average, and several dishes rely on ingredients that taste commercially prepared rather than freshly made.

Bone Kettle has become one of my favorite restaurants, and it's one of those places I keep coming…read moreback to because it's consistently amazing. If you come for dinner, do yourself a favor and order the Brussels sprouts, they're only available at dinner, and I genuinely get them every single time. They're that good. The noodle soups are always incredible too. The broth is rich and flavorful, the noodles are perfectly cooked, and no matter how many times I've been, the quality has never changed. That kind of consistency is hard to find and really keeps me coming back. The service is always friendly and the food comes out surprisingly quickly, even when they're busy. I also appreciate that they're a tipless restaurant with a 20% service charge already included. It's nice knowing the staff is taken care of without having to think about calculating a tip at the end.

As for the pork ribs, the tamarind sauce gave it a big boost. Beef rendang and the carbonara were also great. Service was gracious to us, as we arrived early before our reservation time and the rest of our party did not arrive until five minutes later, they let us in early, though one of the servers gave the rice bowl I ordered a bit later than expected, since I thought it was going to come out as soon as the sisig came. They also gave a drink that one of my party ordered a bit too slow. Atmosphere-wise, we dined al fresco or outside, and it was pretty cool outside, so everything was good. This was my second visit to the restaurant, and overall, I would highly recommend this place if you want to look for fine dining in Pasadena!
