Chili Verde omelette with country potatoes

I'm very picky about where I eat but always ready to try a new restaurant, especially if it's recommended. Norm's Kitchen is a cozy little diner tucked away behind Exchange Bank in Larkfield and well worth your time and effort! I met a group of friends there for breakfast and I must say it was excellent! Service was fast and accurate and we never felt rushed. Food was very delicious and plentiful ( I had the chili verde omelette) and coffee - very satisfying! Go early because seats fill in fast and reserve if you have a large party. Enjoy Norm's Kitchen once and I guarantee you will come back again.

Hidden gem behind Molberry's Market in Larkfield.

A trip from Napa to Windsor found hubby and I at Norms Kitchen. It in a small strip mall behind Molberrys Market on the Old Redwood Hwy. Boy were we happy that our friend suggested this little gem to us. Entering we were greeted by a very sweet and happy young lady as she motioned to "Sit wherever you'd like". Ok! The menu is extensive, but it was 10:30 am and breakfast was our mission. Mary, our very nice server with the prettiest smile, took our order. I ordered the standard fare...2 Eggs OE, Hashbrowns, and a Country Sausage Patty with Toast and a side if Gravy. Hubby a Ham/Cheese Omlette with Hashbrowns as well. The place was crowded so it took a while for our food to arrive. Bring your patience with you cause I promise it's worth the wait!! When Mary set those plates in front of us I could hear angels singing! (SEE PHOTOS). The eggs were cooked perfectly and for a second I thought they had given me a steak? Lol! The sausage patty was huge! But the REAL hero was the Crispy, yummy Hashbrowns. OMG! I like Gravy on mine and Norms did not disappoint one bit. My husband meal was delicious too. Norms was truly a place I'd travel an hour to experience and we'll definitely be back. Thank you!

With all of the options around it is sometimes hard to pick a place to go on a Saturday morning. Jeffrey's is a charming, family friendly establishment that is attached to a small inn off Highway 12. Other inside is pretty small, but they do have some outdoor tables. The interior has some lovely art on the walls as well as positive phrases making you feel like you're home. The service is also great here, and I feel like I've seen the same folks working here for many years. My wife and I ordered two different Hashes to share. The Brussel Sprouts and Bacon Hash is fantastic, which has this blue cheese aioli that gives the dish so much flavor. The Brussel sprouts seem like they're steamed and then tossed in the hash with sautéed diced onions, bell peppers and bacon. The aioli is on the side, but just adding a little bit to each bite gives it so much extra. We also ordered the special of the day which was a Smoked Chicken and Butternut Squash Hash. It has some of the same elements of sautéed onions and bell peppers, but this was served with a cilantro aioli. This dish, while not as amazing at the other Hash, was still really good. My daughter ordered the Buttermilk pancakes (added blueberries to them) with sausage and eggs. She certainly enjoyed them!

Food: Needs work. Ordered the Eggs Benedict. The poached eggs were on point. Absolutely perfect. The champagne hollandaise was a fun twist but couldn't save the meal. The English muffin might have been hard track. It was paper thin and I had to saw through it. Ham had no flavor at all. I don't think it was ham. Maybe thin sliced and unseasoned pork but not ham. Worst part was the county potatoes. They came out slightly above room temperature and hard. They're parboiled then flash fried. Not a bad way to get crisp but I can only assume they do this ahead of the rush and then they sit in a container to be served. My wife ordered her's extra crispy and they come out much better. Coffee smelled and tasted like an ashtray. Overall, I wanted to like this place and the service itself is amazing, but the back of the house needs some work.

If I…read morecould give them six or seven stars, instead of five, that would probably be a more accurate grading system. The food is McDonald's-level consistent, and best-food-in-town quality. And anytime that it is not exactly as consistently delicious as the week before; it's better, never ever worse. The service is amazing, always smiles, always there to refill your cup, but not pushy at all. The family who owns Mac's are always working hard and seem to be dedicated to their customers and community. You get the 60s breakfast style vibes without the cheesy decor that you usually see in "vintage style restaurants". You won't see Elvis and Marilyn Monroe pictures on the walls suggesting "we're like a 50s diner", instead you'll see family photos and local art/photography on walls that have been standing for decades; with a sunlight over a beautiful indoor plant, surrounded by delicious smells. My only complaint would be about seating, the booths are rather small, and there aren't a lot of larger tables for bigger parties of people. But the only reason I say that is because I wish I could bring larger groups in with more consistently so that they can experience the best restaurant in Santa Rosa. That being said, it is a perfect place to take your favorite person for a great breakfast or lunch experience if you want one on one time enjoying great food in a small booth with good conversation. I've lived in Santa Rosa my whole life and have probably been to every restaurant in town, and there's no place as good as Mac's. If you're visiting or you've lived here your whole life, and you want a great breakfast or lunch, Mac's is undoubtedly the best option.

When you walk in, you are truly greeted with everyone saying hello and welcoming, you in. The food here is very good. You'd better be hungry if you came here though because they serve you a ton of food. I could not finish my sandwich. I had to take the other half of it home. I have tried a couple different things on the menu and each time I've never been disappointed. I think my favorite is their roast beef sandwich, but you better come hungry like I said the serene are very big. And my second best sandwich is the shrimp sandwich I telling you, you will not be disappointed in anything that you order. We live in Novato and we drive up there to Santa Rosa just to have a good lunch. And it's worth a drive. So if you're hungry, and you want great service, go to Mac'S. Let's not forget the service!! The girls that work there are so very friendly and they will definitely take care of you. They continually check up on you and make sure that you are happy with what you're eating and where you are sitting. It's great service!!! Make sure you check them out

Not only was I satisfied, I am exhilarated to report the expertly seasoned flavor, golden crisp texture and assortment of syrups, fruit and whipped cream all played a role in this master piece. The Santa Rosa omelette had me at the goat cheese (one of my favorite combinations is eggs and goat cheese) but the chicken sausage was the star of the show. We made a reservation for noon, but still waited over 20 minutes just to be seated. The restaurant was packed, with a cute interior, although it was smaller than I expected and had extremely limited outdoor seating. We were able to order relatively quickly, but the service was slow overall. Our food took about 40 minutes to arrive, which seemed especially long for a fairly simple order. I ordered the huevos rancheros with both green and red salsa. The green salsa was okay, but I didn't care for the red, and the dish itself was bland and definitely needed some salt. My husband ordered a basic breakfast, which was fine but also needed more seasoning. The hash browns were probably the best part of the meal. Unfortunately, given all the hype, we expected more. While the atmosphere is cute, the long wait, slow service, and underwhelming food made the experience disappointing. I don't see us going back anytime soon.
