I can't believe I haven't reviewed Norm's yet! We love Norm's! It's exactly what you want a neighborhood breakfast place to be. Friendly service, and each dish tastes exactly as expected. And that counts for a lot! For example, their eggs benedict is text-book eggs benedict. Their holladaise is yummy, egg is perfectly yolky. Their omelettes are all-american. Big and as described. I'm a huge fan of the fiesta scramble, it's got jalapeños, jack cheese, onion, cilantro, black olives, avocado, topped with tortilla strips. The cilantro really makes it something different. I've never had a scramble with cilantro before! I know some people hate cilantro, so that would be your nightmare, but if you love it, it's great because it tastes so fresh. They also have great homemade salsa that spices up any dish you're getting. And I always top the fiesta scramble with this salsa! My husband absolutely loves their breakfast sandwich, he usually gets his with over-easy eggs, bacon, american cheese and rye. And I love that they have rye, because it's hard to get in this sourdough-loving part of the country. Their corned beef hash is exactly as I like it -- out of a can. LOL. The first time I ordered it, the waitress warned me of this, and I told her that I like it like that. Haha. I love the can stuff that is then griddled to a crisp. PERFECTION! (For me at least... I can't stand fancy corned beef hash. :P) They also have option of hash browns or country potatoes which I appreciate. I am a hash brown girl all the way, and some places don't have it. Theirs is griddled to a nice crisp. Anyhow, it's not like Norm's is like knock-your-socks off. But it is GOOD. And that's strangely not that easy. Their prices are reasonable for these parts. (Which is still expensive... but, what can you do ::shrug emoji::) Service is always nice and friendly. The food was good, the coffee was hot and kept coming. Lil Mom n Pop cafe, they had a very nice menu with lots to choose from. I ordered a chicken fried steak, with has browns and sourdough toast. The server gave us a sample of their homemade salsa, YUMMY and FRESH! Upon entering there were lots of tables taken. We opted for a middle 4 seater against the wall. The air con was on but it was pretty early and we got cold. The server kindly turned off the air con for us. It was a nice gesture. We ended moving to another table over but then the wind from outside kept blowing in. We decided to just eat! We have enjoyed Norm's Kitchen for years now. The location is easy to park, the restaurant it is very cute with many sets of salt and pepper shakers, rolling themes on the big mirrors painted to reflect the current season. It's always very clean and the staff is so friendly and efficient. They have a daily special that's a very generous serving, enough for 2 for lunch or dinner and my husband and I often ate a meal there and took one home for dinner. Don't pass up the homemade desserts. The lemonade was my husband's favorite. Although we're seniors, I think folks of any age will enjoy a "like home cooked" meal at Norm's. read more

Have been coming here regularly for great food but the last two times the food has been very overcooked and then arrives at the table cold. Very overcooked (medium) burger patty like a brick. Biscuits cold and hard, like a hockey puck as if they are leftover from the day before. Too bad...used to be one of my favorite places. Service is mostly attentive. read more

I'm very picky about where I eat but always ready to try a new restaurant, especially if it's recommended. Norm's Kitchen is a cozy little diner tucked away behind Exchange Bank in Larkfield and well worth your time and effort! I met a group of friends there for breakfast and I must say it was excellent! Service was fast and accurate and we never felt rushed. Food was very delicious and plentiful ( I had the chili verde omelette) and coffee - very satisfying! A trip from Napa to Windsor found hubby and I at Norms Kitchen. It in a small strip mall behind Molberrys Market on the Old Redwood Hwy. Boy were we happy that our friend suggested this little gem to us. Entering we were greeted by a very sweet and happy young lady as she motioned to "Sit wherever you'd like". Ok! The menu is extensive, but it was 10:30 am and breakfast was our mission. Mary, our very nice server with the prettiest smile,took our order. I ordered the standard fare...2 Eggs OE, Hashbrowns, and a Country Sausage Patty with Toast and a side if Gravy. Hubby a Ham/Cheese Omlette with Hashbrowns as well. The place was crowded so it took a while for our food to arrive. Bring your patience with you cause I promise it's worth the wait!! When Mary set those plates in front of us I could hear angels singing! (SEE PHOTOS). The eggs were cooked perfectly and for a second I thought they had given me a steak? Lol! The sausage patty was huge! But the REAL hero was the Crispy, yummy Hashbrowns. OMG! I like Gravy on mine and Norms did not disappoint one bit. My husband meal was delicious too. Stopped in this week after picking up my new glasses from Sonoma Eyeworks. I was feeling like having a breakfast so I stopped in. They had a classic Eggs Benedict on the menu which is my go to so I asked for that with the Hollandaise on the side. The dish was cooked perfectly and servers with either hash browns or country style potatoes (I went with the latter). The place has a homey feel and the service was good. After giving Norms several tries over the last few years we are done. After we sat down the waitress took our order for drinks. Turns out that was the high point. After over ten minutes no one came to take our order even though two of them were casually chatting with a couple they seemed to know. The other two waitresses seemed oblivious to us. Finally went to the counter and told them we wanted to place our order. Got a semi apology. We ordered and when food arrived total disappointment just as the last time we ate there. If you are a huge fan of chicken fried steak like I am, then you have to visit Norms. Their homemade CFS and gravy is the way to go on a Saturday or Sunday morning. They also make their own salsa and have the best sourdough bread!!! You also get a bit of nostalgia, you feel like you are sitting in your grandma's kitchen eating breakfast. First of all, I have to say that despite the 3 star review, the service here was absolutley exceptional. I cannot fault any of the employees I interacted with for only three stars. They were all wonderful, especially the hostess--very sweet! The problem may be with the item I ordered. I ordered corned beef hash with 2 eggs. Do I have unrealistic expectations? I was not expecting canned hash, but had to give it a try anyway. I only ate a couple of bites. It was not at all want I wanted. The country potatoes that came with it were a little mushy. After I ordered, I heard a waitess say that country potatoes can be ordered extra crispy. They would have been a lot more palatable crispy than the mushy potatoes I got. The high light of my meal was the 2 extra thick slices of sour dough toast that came with my meal. The toast was very good! Or maybe I was just extra hungry? Despite ordering a meal that I didn't really eat, will I return to Norm's?? Yes. Yes I will. These folks are so nice that I will come back and try something else from the breakfast menu. Very disappointed. The chicken fried steak was over cooked and dry, the gravy was tasteless. The chicken and waffles looked like a frozen meal you'd buy in a store; super thin plain waffle with what looked like a few dry chicken nuggets. The Denver omelette looked good but wasn't flavorful without lots of hot sauce, and the hash browns weren't browned at all. The scrambled eggs and country potatoes were good though. I won't be back. We come to Norms often ( the days my husband has to cook breakfast). It's always busy and we usually have to wait a few minutes. It's the kind of place that coffee cups have random prints on them and they don't match. The wait stuff is older women but they have always been very friendly and fast. We have no problems getting our coffee and waters refilled without asking. I love that you can get lunch items at breakfast being that I don't like eggs. I usually order the chicken Philly sandwich my husband always orders the chicken fried steak. The sourdough toast is real sourdough loaf bread and is a big hit at our table. Norm's Kitchen is a nice little place. It's essentially a really pleasant sort of diner with good food. I ordered the hearty lunch (what can I say I was starving) option of a chicken fried steak. First let me say the portions here are insane. Everything is very very generous. Which is great because the food is nice, it's the kind of food you'd expect when you go to a diner. Solid taste without the frills. The atmosphere is super friendly and comfortable. You have your regulars and random people like me. It was like eating over at someone's house and letting them serve you some comfort food. The only reason I didn't give this place a five stars was because my chicken fried steak was tougher than leather. Can't knock the whole place though, worth coming here instead of a chain. read more

i have never left a bad review in my life and don't like to complain but this was honestly super disappointing. I ordered a benedict (delivery through doordash) and was prompted to pick two sides when i only wanted hashbrowns. I added a cup of fruit so that i could finish the order. when my food arrived i had no hashbrowns and my english muffin was burnt black. i received the cup of fruit which i didn't even want in the first place. the hollandaise was bland and thin. the eggs were poached beautifully though which was the only redeeming factor keeping me from leaving 1 star. i don't want to bitch about it but it was seriously not worth 15 dollars and was supposed to be a special breakfast. read more

Came for breakfast this morning. Was told to sit take a seat and then completely forgotten. We waited 15 minutes people who came in after us who were right next to us were served menus and drinks. I don't know if my flannel shirt blended in with the tacky flooring but me and my date ended up walking out. They were so unaware they said we hope you had a good breakfast and smiled at us. My date laughed and said what breakfast? I'm in the service industry so I must have felt pretty forgotten and bad to write this review. We had brunch there and unfortunately there were small issues with each plate (forgotten avocado, overcooked chicken, nothing big) but the staff was so apologetic, offered to re-do the food. We declined because we had enjoyed our meal still and were satisfied and full, we thanked them for all their care and were still happy with our visit. When we went to pay our bill and were informed that they were buying our brunch. We couldn't believe it, we never would have asked for a discount because we were still so happy with our food. Fast very friendly wait staff . Been here before usually ok but wow was it gross this time. I ordered an omelette, this restaurant has the lazy habit of melting the cheese on top and it's not placed inside where it belongs. The cheese binds the other fillings together so you can eat each bit with a fork and not a spoon. Knowing this I ordered the omelette that way. It arrives in a timely manner with maybe 1/2 slice of American cheese although inside but the omelette wasn't folded. It was like an upside down tostada. Very oily and the filling's especially the sausage was of very poor taste and quality. The hash browns were of the same caliber. Both very oily. At this point I snapped at the waitress , not her fault and she happily tried to make it right. The tried but it was an epic failure. Upon my exit I approached the waitress and apologized for getting angry and explained why I was mad to begin with and to her credit she calmly let me explain. I asked her if they had a new cook ? She stated they did and he was learning . Ok, I get it. But I'm tired of being a Guinea pig and paying for the privilege of three hours after I ate there food. The cooking staff need supervision from the owners. So I give the Waite staff a five and the food a one. Not sure I'll return ever again read more
