A pleasant surprise in kind of an out-of-the-way location. The food is delicious & priced very reasonably. The waitress was very polite and attentive. If I were in the neighborhood, I would stop by for lunch. The decor is eclectic but fun to look at. Worth a visit IMHO. read more

Absolutely delicious! Drove up and the place didn't look like much outside but gave it a chance and glad I did. Coffee was so good! I had the fruit crepes and my hubs had the chorizo skillet. I've been going to Tubby's for breakfast/lunch since the were in the Oliver's shopping center years ago. Their diner-style food is perfect for a quick meal but they will let you sit in your booth for hours if you are catching up with a friend. I usually get breakfast--served all day--which is my favorite daytime meal at a restaurant. The ambiance is fine. There is plenty of parking, and they serve champagne, beer, and wine. Owners Pedro and Maria are pleasant and friendly. Give it a try! read more

We had been to a touristy ocean community for a wedding where the restaurants were overcrowded and overpriced We were looking for a breakfast/lunch stop on our way home and called ahead to ask if they could seat 8 people and two dogs!! The cutest diner ran by the most amazing family. Maria is the hardest working mother and restaurant owner ive ever known, never taking a day off. Her husband and her have done a fantastic job keeping this diners legacy alive while serving high quality food made by her husband. The place is so clean and friendly. Tv is provided with the latest sports games , along with a couple of actual games for activities to do while you eat! Breakfast burrito is my favorite but they have the best homemade chilaquiles & juevos rancheros as well. Highly recommend. read more

I don't recommend this restaurant at ALL. To start with the owner is really rude and selfish. I have seen serval times putting cones in parking lots while his restaurant is NOT OPEN! He even asks people to move to a different parking lot if you aren't going to be eating in his restaurant. Its a public shopping center and there are more business next to him. Tubbys make the best huevos ranchers Ive ever had, Maria and Pedro are wonderful people and I very much enjoy visiting them.

Food: Ordered the sourdough jack burger and added pickles with a. Side of fries and it was AMAZING! My son ordered the chicken fried chicken which we had door dashed. The food was so amazing Service: Well we ordered thru door dash so I don't have much to say other than they followed my requests with no issues and I had one of the best burgers I'd had in a while. Two cook and so many people waiting for their food. Took about 1hr to wait for our food. Chicken and waffle suck and salty bread crumb. Order Country Fried chicken was a big disappointment. Don't waste your time and go to another brunch place. The chicken tasted funky, looks funky, and smells weird, I politely asked the older lady waiter what is this and she quickly told me it's fried chicken and walk away fast. It got me confused and maybe it's just me, I took a few small bites and this is NOT chicken, I stop & just ate my eggs, hash brown, pay & tip. After paying, the older lady waiter quickly came back and told me, it was actually chicken fried steak and it's not chicken fried chicken." Had been here before a few times a few years ago. But I hadn't been back since the change in ownership. The new owners are so much nicer, the food is so fresh. They have really good salsa and amazing service. The food is amazing, I got the eggs Benedict which was perfect! My mom got the veggie skillet and my dad the veggie inlet. And my daughter of course got the kids face pancake. Super cute! These people are really sweet they go the extra mile to make you feel at home. I will definitely be back. Service like I expressed is amazing, food is good and there are no issues with parking. Weekends it gets a lot more packed but for the most part you go during the weekday and you'll be seated quickly. I forgot to take pictures of the rest of the food! read more

Any diner that's half empty on a Saturday is in trouble. There's a reason for this - the food runs the gamut from "bleagh" to "meh." This diner is the refuge for people who have given up on life in general and food in particular. First, coffee. A diner should have decent coffee - it's practically the sole reason for its existence. Tubby's manages the hat trick of making it both weak and bitter, although it was amusing watching the other diners around me spooning in half-and-half and sugar in an attempt to make it palatable. My companion had chilaquiles while I had the eggs Benedict. By definition, eggs Benedict should have hollandaise sauce. I wonder, has the chef has ever even tasted hollandaise sauce? Because hollandaise sauce is not sweet. It is not spicy. This sauce was obviously some dreck either dumped from a can or mixed up from a bag of powder. When combined with a flabby English muffin and some super salty "Canadian bacon" slices, it became a true horror show. The chilaquiles would've been passable, if not for the glob of sour cream, the tepid and flabby pinto beans, and chunks of Cotija. Not crumbled. Chunks. I would have given it one star except the service was attentive and it's not their fault that the food is poor, and because I remember Tubby's how it was 10 years ago when it was delicious. I don't have much hope that they will ever return to those glory days. Not if today's meal was an example. read more

I highly recommend eating at this restaurant! I've ordered the Protein Plate Scramble, various omelets, and Club Sandwich. Each dish provides a generous serving and is very delicious. One of my favorite parts of this restaurant, however, is the staff. They are so kind and friendly to all their customers. Real food! Great service! Thanks Maria. We tried the California Benedict. The bacon was crispy. Eggs poached to perfection. The sauce was perfect. Not to much lemon or salt so I could add on what I wanted. The has browns were perfect. Not burnt just right. There homemade hot sauce was amazing. A friend and I had breakfast there today. She ordered French toast and a side of bacon. She said hers was good. I ordered the two egg breakfast with bacon and country potatoes which came with toast. I had her omit the eggs (don't eat them). The bacon was cooked nicely, however it was a fairly thin cut. The country potatoes were a small serving and had rosemary in them! Like eating soap! So for my $15 breakfast I had bacon and toast! Want a good breakfast with large portions go to Sax's Joint in Petaluma. You won't be sorry! read more

So i came here because my friend and i wanted to try some place new. We came early Sunday morning. Service: Seems like they were friendly to what it seemed like their regulars and completely ignored us . We were sat down in booth and the young waitress took our drinks order, which we got mimosas. Seemed like she wasn't old enough to serve so she asked for help from a older waitress. That took 20 min... I also ordered an espresso and told her to take our order (since they were already taking forever). The older waitress walked away and we over heard her tell the younger waitress " I don't even know how to make that or what it is" - I believe she was referring to the espresso which is on their menu. Food: Our food was served 1 hour and a half later. It wasn't busy at all. 3 others to be exact. I had the waffle with strawberries, bananas, and whip cream which was AMAZING. He had an omelette and was delicious. The espresso was given to me after we received our food. Unfortunately, the long wait and POOR customer service makes it hard to want to come back. read more

I highly DO NOT recommend this place. My son and I were in the area and decided to stop here for breakfast. It's a "seat yourself " restaurant so we sat down. Not crowded at all, but not empty either. We got our drinks right away, waited about 10 minutes and then got to order. Then we sat there for 55 minutes before we finally got our food. People who came in after us, got served before us. The final straw was when they started giving our food to a different table!!! I grabbed my purse and told my son "lets go"!! Just then they realized their mistake and gave us our food. Portions are small, but the worst thing is their country gravy! Worst gravy I have ever had. Poured it on my omelet, because they forgot to put it on, and ended up having to scrape it off, disgusting!! Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

Pretty tasty only thing wrong and why 4 instead of 5 stars was the chicken fried steak was a little over done. Service was awesome, Very friendly and attentive. Was very busy when we arrived but this place was on it and never missed a beat. Daughter had the plate sized pancakes. I stole a bite or two and these were some melt in your mouth pancakes! My husband & I wanted some breakfast after dropping off our daughter early at the university. Very friendly staff, good service, casual & comfortable atmosphere. Good sized food portions including the large size water pot for my hot tea! We each ordered the "2x4 breakfast" that includes 2 eggs, 2 bacon slices & 2 sausages with your choice of waffles, pancakes or french toast. We ordered waffles & French toast and it was topped with a fresh sliced strawberry. This has been a favorite breakfast spot over the past 25 years, and recently changed ownership. We went in today, Thursday, during a heat wave in Sonoma county....and with terrible air quality due to smoke from Northern California fires. Food quality is still pretty good, however the A/C was left off and the door was wide open. I mentioned how hot it was, and nothing changed. I compare the atmosphere to being in Mexico, eating on an outdoor patio. There were two options for home made salsa for the Cotati omelet my dining companion ordered, and he chose the spicy one. It was green sauce which I love, and it had a nice kick to it. I recommend the spicy salsa! I had average pancakes, eggs over medium (done very well, perfect consistency and not burnt or greasy) and two bacon strip and 2 sausage links. The low rating is based on the A/C not even attempted. My cup of ice melted very quickly which is rare in a restaurant, usually ice annoys me. I had to ask for more. read more

We just recently returned to the Rohnert Park / Cotati area and stumbled upon Tubbys again. Sorry about our luck ! I'll start with the positive ..... 1- My Italian omelet was ok. Lots of veggies, which I love. 2- the au ju for the French dip was pretty good. Now the negative..... 1- the very small amount of meat on the French dip was grey, tough and dry. 2- the hash browns had a strong old bacon grease flavor. I left most of them. Oh I almost forgot! The toast was good. Service was ok. 2 drinks and semi edible meal- $30 ! I don't mind the money for good food. This wasn't even close ! It was the first time I actually thought about short paying the check ! Never again !!!!! read more

I have lived in Sonoma county for almost 10 years now. I can honestly say that I didn't know this restaurant was around. On New Years day 2020 my girlfriend and I were able to experience this really tasty hole in the wall mom and pop restaurant. The food was fantastic while the service was friendly and the prices decent. The painted mural on the wall was beautiful and vibrant with color adding a touch of class to this restaurant. Once we ordered and got our food we were amazed by the portion sizes. Thankfully, this for us was brunch, and we wouldn't have to eat again until dinner rolls around. Great food, decent prices, and good service is what makes this place a winner in my book. I will definitely be coming back again for another go around. read more
