I started going to Dr. Baluyut this year to have some delayed dental work done. Some of the delay was out of fear lol. Dr. Baluyut is very gentle and for the most part, my procedures have been pain free. She is very knowledgeable and precise. I would highly recommend going to her. I think it is important to ask a lot of questions in order to get the most out of your treatment. I think there can be some improvement in communication BUT I have learned to ask questions if I am unclear on anything. That has worked out well for me. I am sooooooo glad I am done with treatment and I can stay away. 1. The receptionist is like a used car salesman. Never gives up and try to make me do treatments that I already said I was not interested in. 2. Communication issues. They say they told me, but I never heard of it. But, they are always speaking in Tagalog or some sort while they are working on my teeth. I have no idea what they are saying. Then sometimes tell me something in English while they are drilling my teeth. You think I can hear you while you are drilling on my teeth? and English, always, please! 3. Triple booking!!!! 30-50minutes wait, always!!! The first time, the doctor apologized, she said the prior patients took longer than she expected. But, she always double book patients although she is the only doctor who treats and cleans teeth. One time, I waited 50 min!! She triple booked!! However! the receptionist always calls me, and I rush to their office. Give me a break. I think this is the dentist that tries to get everything they can get out of you. They will recommend additional treatment, and without you knowing, they already made the quote with your insurance. read more

Dr. Gemma Baluyut is a SCAM!!!! DO NOT GO TO HER. She placed a crown on my tooth, that later fell off 2 months later. She then charged me for all the fees to place the crown back. She charges for every little thing, including getting X-ray to be transferred to my other dental office, as well as charging for having to explain what she sees in the X-ray which I thought was standard. Why would I have to pay to see a dentist if they aren't going to explain the tests that they do... I was absolutely appalled that she charged me an explanation fee... I've never experienced such a thing in my life and especially having family who work in the medical field. She is also a LIAR. She claimed I had 7 cavities which was strange to me since I had no symptoms. So I got a second opinion from a different dentist with new X-rays, to which they stated I had 0 cavities... Me and my family went late last year. The dentist, as mentioned, has a gentle touch. She herself was thorough. However, we decided that we would not return, only because the quote initially given by the office was way below what we were actually charged. I understand sometimes things pop up, but the disconnect from what the insurance pays and what they actually charge to the customer is not good practice.
