Who likes going to the dentist?!? Ugh, just the noise of those tools aggravate me. However, I was in need of a cleaning and my mom and sister see Dr. Illas and give him rave reviews. I was up North and decided to fit in an appt, while I was there. First of all, the office is super clean and everyone from the front desk staff to the hygienists are friendly. They have tvs in every room and you can even switch it to whatever channel you want. Their machines are up to date and you just stand there while the xray machine circles you and your mouth! Super cool as it limited the time I had to chew on those hard x-ray cardboard things and try not to gag. Dr. Illas is very knowledgeable and takes extreme care in what he does. He even threw out some good metaphors about cleaning your teeth and posts in the ground, LOL! I got what he meant! I pay out of pocket and as I get older I'm a lot more impatient with medical appointments that I have to fit into my schedule. Also, the last thing I want to hear when taking two hours out of my work day for an appt is a lecture about flossing or gum disease. Dentists tend to be very worst care scenario and hygienists are even worse, but everyone here was really kind, cleaned my teeth, threw in some good stories and sent me on my way with some goodies (a full sized toothbrush & floss). Not really goodies, but useful items nonetheless! No cavities, yayyyy! They take most insurance plans as well, so if you are in the area check out the doctor. He also has an office in Milpitas and most of the staff speaks Tagalog. P.S. They have the cleanest, most modern bathroom!

I am so happy!!! I finally found a dental office I can trust and felt treated like royalty, not just a number. I had a rough time finding a dentist who was open late, gentle, clean, understanding, caring, state of the art and close by....Then I found Ilas. All the staff are super sweet, quick, and explained everything to me. They exceeded my expectations on so many levels. Please don't waste time searching anymore. Check them out. Even their bathroom is awesome!

Largely thanks to Dr Sai and Sally I'm now in the preventative mode as it were with no serious issues. So I haven't needed to see Dr Tsai for a while but I always feel especially comfortable in his care If needed. In the meantime hygenist Sally has been doing an incredible job , as always, keeping my teeth clean and in good shape while watching out for any problems, EG no more fives and sixes , If you get back drift, and very few cavities for someone who is prone to them. And also a shout out to Tara and Kylie and the front staff who are also incredible at what they do. Thank you all. Looks like another good year, certainly dental- wise

I have very high anxiety when it comes to any dental procedure, and I also have extremely sensitive gums and an overall low pain tolerance. Despite that, I continue to come back because I always feel treated with kindness and patience. Dr. Tsai performed gum surgery for me, and I truly believe it made a significant improvement in my gum health and appearance. I also go in for regular deep cleanings, which are never easy for me, but the staff is always understanding, especially when I flinch or tear up from the discomfort. The only thing I'd hope to see improved is the way my sensitivity is addressed during treatment--I understand it's unusual to be this sensitive, but frequent comments about it can sometimes make me feel more self-conscious. That said, I know they mean well and are doing their best to keep me calm. Overall, I trust Dr. Tsai with my periodontal care and am thankful to have a provider who understands how stressful dental work can be for someone like me. Highly recommend to anyone, especially those who need a compassionate touch.

It goes without saying I'd give her a good review regarding her surgical skills, but what I want to share with you is how she's made me feel and the experience I've had during my appointments.  First of all, if my appointment is at 8 a.m., I'm in the chair within 5 minutes. There is no waiting around, and I appreciate that she and her staff value my time.  She makes it clear that if an emergency arises, she is reachable outside of office hours. As much as I'd rather be anywhere else, Dr Grosso has a way of putting me at ease. I trust her, and for me, that's the most important thing of all.

OMG DON'T GO HERE!…read more #1 - I think it's COMPLETELY unsanitary to have a dog in a dental office. I'm not talking a small dog...this was a HUGE dog that stood above waist high. I'm short 5'1 but this dog by dog standards is considered big...larger than a german shepard. Apparently, the dog had surgery and was on medication so couldn't be left home alone. I think it's awful that they have patients that took time out of their busy schedules to attend an appt only to be greeted by this huge dog and for someone like me who doesn't like dogs this was a big deal. #2 I'm getting calls from a collection agency stating I owe $50 for a missed appt at this office. I spoke to Carol on the day I was supposed to show up for this appt. The problem is I never scheduled the appt! I received no prior notification of this appt. When scheduling future appts in this office there are 2 things that go hand-in-hand...scheduling the date/time and filling out the appt reminder post card with your name/address. I did neither because at the time of my last appt with them I was uncertain I would remain a patient of theirs because of the condition of their office and I was in between residences and didn't know where I was going to move to. According to the gal that answered the phone, whom I've not met before, wrote the appt in the books and said they sent me an email appt reminder. When I asked for proof of this she said they could not reproduce it. So #1 I didn't schedule the appt and #2 they couldn't prove they'd sent me a reminder. According to Carol they sent me 8 statements of which I only received 1 and the 1 statement was sent to an old address which was forwarded only for only 3 mos. Basically, this office has dishonest ppl working there. It's your word against theirs. DON'T GO HERE! There are BETTER, CLEANER, BETTER ORGANIZED offices in town.

There's something about an infected tooth that really messes with your mind. Each day, thanks to the way nerves work, different teeth, jawbones, and even brain sections would hurt and ache at varying intensities. It feels like something beyond your control is going wrong in your head, which only exacerbates the claustrophobia. At times, you feel like you just can't take it anymore and want to pull your own tooth out. Then, imagining a 1.5-hour procedure on a complex tooth, with equipment everywhere and a dental dam covering your mouth, it eats away at your psyche. On top of that, in non-major cities like mine over in Sacramento, options are limited, with only a few monthly slots and waits of a couple months for IV sedation surgery. Antibiotics were helping me get by for the time being, but it was touch and go, and I didn't know how long I could hold out after waiting several weeks. That's when Dr. Mark Stevenson entered the picture. After an exhaustive AI-assisted search, I discovered he was the go-to endodontist in Northern California for IV sedation root canals, with weekly slots available on Mondays and Wednesdays for in-house IV sedation procedures. Even though 1.5 hours away in Concord, I decided to call and quickly scheduled both the consultation and surgery. During the consultation two days before, Dr. Stevenson answered all my questions and reassured me that the IV sedation would address every fear: the chair position, my ability to breathe through my mouth (yes, you can from the sides), and a signal system if I felt distressed. But you never truly know how it'll go until you're in the moment. The night before, I had panic attacks all night and couldn't calm down, no matter what I tried. It was hands-down the worst night of my life, I didn't sleep much at all. On surgery day, Dr. Stevenson used his soothing demeanor for some final reassurances: once the needle was in my arm, it would be all downhill, and I'd have no issues. Well, this might sound anticlimactic, but he was 100% right. As soon as the sedation kicked in, I was out of it and basically slept through the procedure. I only started waking up during the last 10 minutes of wrap-up, and even then, the sedation made me not care about anything going on. There was no pain felt at all during or after the surgery; just maybe a little bit that night, nothing some Advil couldn't take care of. The next day, my tooth and entire mouth felt great, as good as new with no pain! Dr. Stevenson runs a highly professional operation. You feel like you're in the care of a seasoned emergency room doctor. There was a very thin nasal oxygen tube for easy breathing, a blood pressure monitor on my arm, and a pulse oximeter on my finger. He takes no step for granted, follows strict protocols, and is a true master of his craft. His dental assistant, Stacy, was fantastic too, very comforting and supportive. All the office staff were great as well. I'll only do future root canals under his care. If you're in a similar situation and live in the Western United States, he's your solution. Just make the appointment and get there. (Pro tip: Bring a companion driver, as it's required with sedation.) For me, the hardest part was simply showing up.
