I've been going to Dr. Crespo for more 10+ years. This is the most I've ever felt comfortable with a dentist and it shows. Dr. Crespo is extremely kind and I've never felt judged by his words and that's something that is extremely important to me. I felt that he's always been honest, but not rude about what dental work needed to be done. Instead of ridiculing you, you tells you what can be done moving forward and I think your dentist should make you feel comfortable and wanting to come back. Dr.Crespo is usually booked for awhile so if you're planning on making an appointment, make it far in advance. The girls in the front are very polite and always suggest to be but on the cancellation list in case someone cancels they would try to swap me in. Terrible customer service there was 2 receptionist I got there 10 mins before my appointment driving thru traffic on the Richmond bridge. Elizabeth said she wouldn't be able to take me in because I had a lot of paperwork to do. Instead of holding me up even more I could've been signing. I have an urgent matter and I waited 4 months for my appointment for her to excuse me like that. Please don't work somewhere you don't desire to be at especially concerning someone's health. To start off, the Receptionists were very friendly right off the bat. I could tell that i walked in on a good business the day I went for a tooth extraction. Speaking of dental work, I met my dentist, Dr Crespo. Friendly and very assuring. Couldn't have put my dental and oral health in the hands of someone else! Extraction was quick, clean and out in under 30 minutes. Seriously, don't skip out on your dental appointments, especially if you live near to this facility. Look no more! Seriously recommend! I went in today as an emergency appointment as my son chipped his tooth. Not only was staff super friendly but Dr. Cesar Macias talked to my son step by step what he would do. He took his time not only to explained to me the long term possibilities but also solutions. For first time patients we were treated as VIP. Would highly recommend them. I went to Dr. Crespo for a routine check-up and a cleaning, the cleaning lasted 15 minutes. I was not happy with the cleaning at all, I am a heavy black tea drinker so after the so call cleaning my teeth were still full of stains. I went back again because I was told I need it a filling in one of my teeth and to get an impression taken for a Nightguard. I was told the night guard was for the upper teeth but that wasn't what I got. I went to get my night guard after 2 weeks and I realized the office was closed, but I never received a call letting me know the office would be closed due to the pandemic. When they finally opened I called to get my night guard sent to me because I didn't feel comfortable going to the office to pick it up and the receptionist told me I couldn't do that. She also said that due to the extra protocols they had to follow I had to pay an additional $20 even though my night guard was done and process before the pandemic happened. She told me that if I didn't pay the $20 fee I wouldn't get my night guard. I reminded her I have insurance and she said that didn't matter, I still had to pay. I reminded her that they are under contract with my insurance and they couldn't by law charge me whatever they wanted, but then again she said NO PAID FEE NO NIGHT GUARD. I was very unhappy with this office. I called my insurance and told them what happened and they said they are not allowed to do that, that is why they are under contract with them. I went to get my night guard, I reported them to my insurance and that was the last time I went to this awful office. We are in a pandemic where people are losing their jobs and don't have money to pay for housing and offices like this one are trying to make a buck from the situation. My Husband when in to get a rut- canal done today was charged 69.00 for X-rays days befor, while they were working on him after 1\2 hr . Dr. CRESPO STOPPED the procedure and told him he was not able to finish of the rut-canal ,he then said he was going to refer him to another Dentist.. This is amazingly ridiculous! ! My husband then asked Dr.CRESPO how long he has been in this practice , Dr.CRSPO told him 20 years then he refrased himself to 24 years , really I don't thinks so .. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, SERVICE!!! Prior to having a bad experience at Contra Costa Dental which is down the street, I had a bad experience at this location. Here are some of the problems/issues that came up: 1. This office overbooks. They schedule appointments in such close succession (I went when they only had one dentist - I believe they now have two). This leads patients to not be seen by the dentist until 20-30 minutes after their appointment. 2. They do something called "upselling," a common practice in retail which of course shouldn't happen within a dental office. For each new patient and for each check-up, they recommend x amount of work that should be done. This work may not even be necessary if you get a 2nd opinion. 3. Parking here is a huge issue. Overall, the business itself will continue to do well considering the lack of Spanish speaking dentists in the area and the fact that San Pablo is 90% Latin@. read more

I went to this dentist for a cleaning and left being told I needed 2 crowns which I'm 24 and to be honest I haven't taken the best care of my teeth when I was younger so I imagined that to be true. However, something didn't sit right with me I just had a weird feeling so when they asked to book the appointment saying it would be around $1,000 and I would need to come up with half before the appointment and then the other half the day of I decided I would research this dentist...I never look up reviews I try to give every place a shot but after looking up reviews I'm glad I did.. please listen to these reviews!!! They try to push crowns or other expensive dental care on you that you dont need! I went to this dentist that has great reviews yesterday and I was told all I needed was a filling and no I don't need crowns at all! I came to this office years ago; I also referred my family big mistake I made. The dentist here told me I had a rut canal and other dental issues. I feel so embarrassed I let my teeth get this way. I was not so convince on his results since I was not experiencing pain or discomfort with my teeth so I decided to get a second opinion turn out I did not have a rut canal and all of the other stuff the dentist had advice me. I fell so ashamed with my mother and sister since they had also experience the same the dentist told them they needed more dental work there insurance wouldn't cover. I advice them to get a second opinion and once again same result this dentist place is out to charge for unnecessary procedures just to make money big surprise. I had not been to the Dentist in like 2yrs since I did not have dental insurance. Once my benefits kicked it I decided to give this place a chance since my mom would take my sister here when she was little and it is close to home. First visit, Dr Crespo had a long list of things I "needed" including 2 crowns. Before the crowns were done he did some fillings. However, for some reason I was always over charged and they would just give me "credit." So please check your insurance receipts. Finally, I got my crown done and Dr Crespo assured me I needed another one. And he was always really pushy about me getting more work done, like getting my wisdom teeth pulled, even tho they are all out and I have the space. I have no pain so I'm not getting them pulled. I was suppose to return for my second crown, but something didn't feel right so I never went back. I still feel I was over charged for my first one. So I went to a different dentist and there's nothing wrong with my teeth. I DO NOT need a crown and my new dentist wasn't sure why I was told I did. I'm so glad i didn't go back. Now I'm not even sure I needed the first crown either, but it's too late for that. The staff was always really nice and I'm so disappointed of this place. I was surprised how professional and friendly the staff was at this dental office. They even knew my name before i even met them; this made me feel at home and totally comfortable. I left my other dentist because I had to get a lot of work done, and they wanted way to much money. Dr. Crespo and his office was at least $600 cheaper, but after my experience with him and his staff I would've paid more. He explained everything he was doing and I learned a lot about dentistry in the last month. I had about four visits in the last month and my longest wait in the waiting was like 2 minutes. Terrible customer service!! Don't go here! I went to this dentist three times and each time I left I booked my next cleaning appointment 6 months out. Every time my scheduled appointment was about to come up, the front staff would say I didn't have an appointment, even though I had a card they had filled out confirming the date and time. I asked to have my records transferred to another dentists and the front staff said I could not do that and they would have to destroy them. Each of my appointments had brand new people who were learning the job as they went and the staff seems to be a revolving door. I requested Dr. Crespo call me so I could give him some constructive feedback about my service. I called twice and the front desk finally called me back and said he would not be calling me. Dr. Crespo is an ok dentist, but he was very rough when filling two of my cavities. They also try to upsell you on a lot of products you don't need (my mom was a hygienist). Second time here, not coming back. My appointment was at 10 I scheduled it a week in advance due to my busy work schedule. Thinking I'll be out in 30 min I was wrong. An hour went by and they kept on calling on other people but me. I stood up and immediately cancel my appointment they tried to fix it right away or re schedule but they need to understand that not all of us will put up with bad service especially if we are paying for it.
