My husband has been coming here since he was a child with the amazing Dr. Tanita and collectively, myself and our kids have been coming here for the last 20 years. Dr. Tanita was amazing and really cared for his patients! Over the years, unfortunately the service here has been subpar at best. Rushed appointments, lack of availability in booking, especially for an emergency visit and charges for services that may or may not be necessary. Also, the customer service has been less than friendly at times. Which is very disheartening. Very disappointing that we have been long time patients here and now with the recent changes and customer service, we may need to find a new provider as lately over the past few years, we do not feel valued as patients. read more

Came to this dentist to get my tooth check, I ended up with just a deep cleaning still. They said there was nothing wrong so I left taking their word. I paid my co payment which later I found out that they did certain procedures that the insurance did not approved so it got denied. I called to try to solve the issue of the remaining balance and they said that they will send an appeal to the insurance, I called my insurance and they told me they never got anything from them. Now I got a bill to pay that has gone to a debt collector. This is the worst experience ever never going to suggest any one to this location. read more

I recently switched insurances and was looking for a more local place to go to the Dentist and saw them on the Delta Dental website. Now, I can not stop recommending this place to people and am shocked I had not heard about them before! It's hard not to smile when I visit. All of the staff I've met so far including the front office, dental assistants, and dentist (Dr. Joshua Rosales) have been extremely kind, caring, and informative. I usually have pretty high anxiety at the dentist but found that the dental treatment area helps minimize it. The area is very clean and they play music in the background which I enjoy. They also have a tv on the ceiling that you can look at while they clean your teeth. My first appointment: I arrived 10 minutes early (there was a lot of parking) and took the elevator to the third floor. Was greeted kindly by the receptionist and was given an Ipad to fill out forms. When I was called in, Teresa, one of the dental assistants, took x-rays of all my teeth and jaw. I appreciate how patient and nice she was when taking my x-rays because I always find taking x-rays to be very painful and have had past dentists/dental assistants get mad when it takes multiple shots to take a good x-ray, but she was very patient, kind, and understanding. Then I met Dr. Joshua Rosales, the dentist, and he explained what was happening in my X-rays and we spoke about preventive care. My second appointment: I arrived 15 minutes early and checked in. I was greeted again kindly by the receptionist and she checked me in. Dr. Joshua Rosales performed my teeth cleaning but was very careful because I have some sensitivity in my gums. He was very communicative about what he was doing with my teeth while he was cleaning and explained why he was doing what he was doing along the way. He also frequently checked in to see how I was doing which I appreciate. Then Teresa helped finish up my cleaning by flossing my teeth, brushing them, and then adding fluoride. At the end of the appointment, they gave me a nice little goodie bag with a toothbrush, toothpaste, a water bottle and glasses. I can not wait to come back in 6 months! read more

Dr. Rosales and his team are very friendly and professional. I really liked that Dr. Rosales explained everything going on in my mouth during my first visit. He showed me the xrays and let me know which areas of my mouth I need to keep an eye on for cavities. I've had general cleaning and fillings done and they were done fast without that sense of being rushed. Dr. Rosales and his assistant, Teresa, always used polite words and phrases during the whole process. As a patient, I really felt like the staff cared. The office is located inside a business building on the third floor. There isn't really any signs to point you where, but just walk into the building and head up three flights. There aren't any markings in the stairwell for which floor you're on. When leaving, I met Dr. Pham on my way out and she was very kind and approachable. She and Dr. Rosales offered me to take home a rose that they had from their fresh bouquet on the counter. She told me it's a tradition in the office that they would like to keep by giving a rose to their patients after their procedure. What a sweet gesture! I highly recommend their office! read more

Teeth cleaning went great but after the cleaning for them to tell me they had to examine my teeth when the person that was cleaning my teeth could've been competent enough to tell me I had no cavities. I was thinking it was a thorough exam, Dr pham came in and looked at my teeth for less than 2 minutes and told me I was good and sent me off after I told them my orthodontist could've looked at it and told me the same. So I paid an extra $78 for 2 minutes of her looking at my teeth after I told the the receptionist lady I had no money at the moment to pay for extra services and I only wanted teeth cleaning. However the exam was not mandatory, I just paid a 2 minute $78 exam for something my orthodontist could've told me it seemed they just look for ways to get $ out of people however they can. I will not be coming back to this dentistry again. read more

I came here after checking my Delta dental list for local dentists. I found Smiles, checked Yelp, and scheduled an appointment. While scheduling over the ph. the front desk staff was SO helpful. They found me an appointment right away and also were able to estimate my costs and co-pay. The office sent reminders via text and ph. call. There was no wait when I arrived, I was helped right away and received the same great upbeat service I had on the ph. Ana did my X-Rays she was kind and gentle and very personable. She explained what she was doing and why. She communicated when the Dr. would be with me and he was! Dr. Rosales was the dentist I saw. He was EXCELLENT. He explained everything on my x-rays in detail, he helped me design a plan for follow up that prioritized my teeth and finances. Ana helped me finalize my plans and clearly explained the costs and what was covered. I am SO grateful to the team! They were excellent and I will be back for all my dental needs. read more

Dr. Pham was wonderful. She was kind and gentle and informative. I had a great experience with her for my emergency root canal. The front desk staff, however, is another story and the reason for the less than 5 star review. I found the attitude by the receptionist a little unnerving at my first visit, but my subsequent phone conversations with her have confirmed. I found the reception staff to be minimally helpful, and slightly argumentative even. For people who are supposed to be there as the face of the clinic and offering client service - their service to clients I found to be lacking. read more

Got a reply from business owner Josh. Hey Josh, I was asked to pay BEFORE I saw a dentist. No one else was, most patients came out of the chair and THEN were asked for their insurance/payment. So, I do pay when services are rendered, only this was the first time I was asked to pay for any services and I hadn't even seen the dentist yet. Get your story straight, my friend, or ask the front desk people to collect the fees AFTER they see the dentist. It was a huge turnoff, which is why I left. I was doing a lot of research before choosing a dentist and I kept reading nothing but good things about San Pablo Smiles Dentistry so I decided to give it a shot. My first appointment was a usual check up and the staff was very friendly from the start! They make an effort to know your name and everyone was very helpful with any questions I had. They were also very clear with my insurance information (copays) so I knew right off the bat how much I was expected to pay. I recently had my wisdom teeth removed and this has been something I've been dreading (and putting off) for a long time. I get extremely anxious around needles and blood but the whole staff was so comforting and reassuring. Throughout the procedure I was frequently being asked if I was okay and after a few minutes I felt calm. I even got a call from the doctor a few hours after the procedure to check in about how I was doing. They really go above and beyond and I highly recommend people to go check them out! read more

I had been going to Daniel Tanita for over 15 years, I had been pleased with his service up to about 2 years ago, I kept having to go back for a bridge that detached, then an implant that crown cracked, he gladly did the repair and then It kept happening he took the bridge out and filled the opening that it was attached, when asked him why he didnt fix it he said something about it would keep coming detached, I paid over 1,000.00 for this bridge. then my implant that cracked and he replaced the post broke so I went in and he told me he would have to replace the post and I would have to come back the next morning and he glued the crown back on. The next morning I returned and he tried to take the crown off and he broke it, I mean totally, I didnt believe it, he said that he had equipment to make me one on the spot and I asked him where would he got a mold of my tooth that he had broke. He said he would be able to make one. He said he would not charge me and that it would take a few weeks. Because I had been going to him for years, I felt I could trust him to know what he was doing even thou he had just scrattered my crown. He put this blue clay like stuff in my mouth and make a mold and 20 minutes later I he put this crown that looked like a child had made, it had a gap in it and it was too short. He said that he would have to make a temp and I would need to come back again. I made an appointment and stayed away from most people. When i went back, I had shared with him that I would love for both of my crowns to be alike so he ground down the other crown and attemped again to make a mold. what was I thinking this man had broke on crown had not been able to make a desent crown and now I was having him make two. He made a temp bridge and asured me that he would have lab make crowns the color of my orginal teeth and the shape could be adjusted. I had to wait 3 weeks but by the 2nd week I notice that one of the crown had looked like it had turned gray or black under it so I called the office and they asked me to come in. I was told it was not anything to be alarmed about that it was a reaction to the filler and that I only had 4 more days before my crowns were going to come in. I was so excited when I went into the office. I got in the chair and he put the filler and then pressed the crowns in, I looked in the mirror and went to tears. They where uneven, the color was off, the right crown looked like it was longer and stuck out further then the other one. All I could do was cry, I didnt belive it what the @@@ who was this guy? I walked out the office when the office manger said well it's hard to work with you when you to dont come in regularly, what did have to do with the work he had messed up.
