    Lamb over rice

I stumbled across this  halal restaurant while waiting to have my tires replaced, and I'm so glad I did. The food was absolutely amazing, fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Staff provided excellent service and made the experience even better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location was nice and clean and the atmosphere felt very authentic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A hidden gem that I'll definitely be coming back to!

I stopped in after some meetings in the area and was excited to try their food. Parking is street parking, but there seems to be a good amount on the street right next to the restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space has a pop of bright colors inside and on the outside facade.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also have a good amount of seating inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have chicken options, combos, Afgan options, lamb, beef, and veggie options as well as boba and teas. I ordered a Lamb Gyro ($9.99) and Seekh Kabob ($12.99) for take out and planned to bring it home. It wasn't busy when I stopped in so they started making my food right away. I took a seat and waited and was on my way not too much later. When I got home the food was still hot and was packed really nicely. The gyro was hefty and had a good amount of meat and veggies. I do wish that the meat was in bigger strips of lamb versus the smaller chunks of meat, but the flavor was really good. The Seekh Kabob was also a generous portion and the kabobs had some good spice to them. The salad mix that came with was also fresh and flavorful. There was a lot of rice as well. If I visit again I'd explore more items from the menu and probably try one of their drinks.

Wow!! What an absolutely incredible experience at **Halal Shop Sacramento**! Every single wrap I tried was a burst of pure Mediterranean flavor -- warm pita, juicy meats, crisp lettuce, tangy onions, and that creamy tahini drizzle that ties it all together perfectly The wraps were fresh, flavorful, and packed to perfection You can tell everything is made with love and care -- from the perfectly seasoned fillings to the freshly chopped veggies [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service was friendly, the vibe was welcoming, and the prices were super reasonable[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Whether you're a foodie or just hungry for something *real* and *authentic*, this place is a total gem in Sacramento! **Highly recommend Halal Shop Scacramento!** **3116 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95820** #WrapHeaven #FlavorExplosion #HalalShopSacramento #MediterraneanMagic #SacramentoEats

After driving regularly past this shop for years and always saying I need to stop and try them...I finally did. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Walking into the restaurant immediately was impressed with how clean and new looking everything was.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the lamb over rice with a piece of baklawa and the cashier was friendly and service was fast. Portions were large, quality was good and packaged in a good container for takeout. Look forward to coming back here and only wish I had gone sooner.

I don't know where to even begin. I want to rant about the food but I am like let me prepare my foodies. Parking is street sharing with residents. Don't let my rating scare you to find parking and try the deliciousness Parking is 2/5 Service is 5/5 Running the restaurant on her own with the most upbeat personality ever. Love her smile. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is 5/5 super chill and relaxing[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Calling my fellow foodies who are in search for some super affordable Mediterranean food look no further. On the corner of one of the most bat driving street is where this aroma sits. This place here opens the wallet and keeps it out of a whole. From freshness, to flavors on your plate I must say this will be a new spot my families and I will be regularing (no such word). FYI- I am not sure if the lady is the owner but it's rarely new so if you come hungry it's only her taking orders, cooking and serving so be patient unless you want to take your butt to the place Down the street and pay $5 bucks more that may not be fresh. By the way I love her beautiful energy and smile. I hope you find my food notes helpful. Happy eating.

    Chicken sandwich

I usually like coming here and enjoy their food, but this sandwich is ridiculous. It needed more chicken than the one tender that was put in the sandwich

Where my falafel were but I wasn't quick enough with the camera to match the deliciousness in which these struck me they were gone...fast

She'd noticed my growing curiosity about Afghan cuisine from a previous visit elsewhere and gently pointed me toward Chopan Kabob House, insisting it was worth the experience. There was something comforting in that recommendation--like being guided toward a place that already held meaning for someone you trust. When I arrived, I was immediately struck by the restaurant's clean, welcoming atmosphere. The space felt intentional--nicely furnished without being overwhelming, simple yet warm. I mentioned I was ordering takeout, and the gentleman behind the counter handed me a menu. At first glance, it seemed straightforward, but the more I looked, the more it felt thoughtfully curated--each item carrying a sense of tradition and care. Wanting a proper introduction, I chose the Combination Kabob with Tikka and chicken. It felt like the right balance--a way to experience more in a single meal. I was told it would take about 20 minutes, and as I sat waiting, I found myself appreciating that detail. In a world built on speed, those 20 minutes felt reassuring. It suggested intention, freshness, and the kind of cooking that isn't rushed. When I finally brought the meal home and opened the container, I was genuinely surprised. The portions were generous--almost abundant. A vibrant salad added a refreshing contrast, while the long-grain rice was fragrant and perfectly cooked. Then there were the stars of the meal: the Tikka beef and the chicken, both beautifully prepared. Each bite carried depth--layers of spices and seasoning that felt both bold and comforting. It wasn't just flavorful; it felt rooted in something deeper, something traditional. By the time I finished, I realized this wasn't just a satisfying meal--it was an experience that lingered. There's a certain nostalgia in discovering a place like this for the first time, especially through the recommendation of someone close to you. It feels personal, almost like being let in on a secret. I'm already looking forward to returning, perhaps next time to dine in and take in the full experience. And with a menu that promises more to explore, this feels less like a one-time visit and more like the beginning of a new favorite.

But a few things: - the food took SO long to arrive. We were the only group in the restaurant and we waited over an hour before our food finally arrived - there is no AC in here, and just small spinning ceiling fans. It was so hot the day we came - 100 degrees outside so it was boiling inside while we waited. - the food had a lot of carbs, wish there was more protein. I think if I crave this, I would do takeout instead of dining in.

We ordered one potato bolanis for appetizer with beers and five orders of kabob. There were no kabob leftovers! Everything was freshly cooked and delicious. The kitchen was kind enough to serve the food family style and there was plenty of spare naan and rice, but the delicious kabobs were all gone. Folks really liked the lamb, but my favorite is still the mildly spicy chapli kabobs! I took a bolani home. It is perfectly crispy after a few minutes in the toaster oven. It is a smallish restaurant but Yasmeen manages the front end well with a helper. Highly recommended!

Not a simple order by any stretch. Getting the owner (?) on the phone to place the order took some persistence, but once we connected, she was fantastic. She helped us figure out quantities, steered us toward the right dishes for the vegetarians and the kids, and was upfront about what contained nuts. She even threw in extras (salad and dessert) to complete the meal. I felt like she treated us like family. Pricing was very reasonable, everything arrived on time -- delivered by her uncle, no less -- and there was so much food that every guest went home with a takeout container -- the true mark of a successful spread. My husband was considerably less thrilled that I didn't save any of the meat dishes for home (he still laments it every time we talk about this awesome catering experience to others). For dine-in, our favorites are the lamb kebob, the Qabili, and the chicken kebob. We'll keep coming back.

We ordered Afghan food from Ariana Gyros & Kabobs for delivery…read more We frequently got foods from Ariana before COVID, because it's the best Afghan foods in our areas. We returned many times since then but today, the old memories of why Ariana was one of our favorite restaurants returned. We ordered our favorites: Chablee kabobs, Chicken kabobs, Qabuli rice, mantoos, and Bolani. Qabuli rice or Kabuli pula, is my favorite. The basmati rice is served with the tender lamb meats. It's fragrant, eye-pleasing, and a good balance of sweet and savory spices and ingredients. It surely fits to be called the national dish of Afghanistan. Mantoos (Afghan dumplings) is the must have in my family. It's filled with ground beef and onions, covered with chickpeas sauce and tzatziki sauce and sprinkled with mint. It's refreshing. Bolani (potatoes turnovers) served with my favorite chutney that's made with cilantro, vinegar and garlic. The kabobs were tender and delicious as expected. I always like the foods from this restaurant. Today, the food arrived piping hot!! We did mostly takeouts from this restaurant for years. I noticed the restaurant did a lot of takeout orders but not many eating in. We did dine-in once, a few months ago. The restaurant updated their interior. The interior felt too dark when we went there for lunch. While the restaurant looked cleaner, I wasn't sure what the theme was. The spaces didn't seem to blend together to create a feeling of comfort. It's not enticing for us to stay to enjoy our foods inside the restaurant.
