Some great food for an even better value. I can't believe the amount of food given here and how affordable it is. Enjoyed the lamb/beef gyro combo. The meat was really good and it was stuffed inside the pita bread along with veggies and that amazing sauce. The pita bread was super soft making the base of the gyro heavenly. Fries were seasoned well and came out crispy. Pepsi products served at the fountain. They have a large but direct menu, plates, gyros, salads, meat fries and burgers. Best fries hands down. So crunchy and the seasoning on them is so yummy! They are nice and warm too when they serve them. The falafel gyro is pretty solid too. Wish it had a bit more sauce but the flavor is great and definitely fills the craving. Love that this place is a drive through and open late. So if you're craving some yummy gyros late at night this is def the place to go. Good pricing too, fries are $2.99 a gyro is $7.99 so much cheaper than other places in sac and tbh better. Super convenient online ordering. Came here for lunch and the food looked pretty good from photos. Ultimate platter: A Chicken, beef, lamb. Basically all the proteins in one plate. Chose this so I could try most of what they have to offer and I will say the plate was incredibly packed with flavor. Meats are heavily marinated and super tender. The white sauce is very creamy and delicious. Seasoned fries: C These fries were not my favorite. They're thick cut so the inside is bland and they got a bit soggy for takeout. The place is pretty solid and convenient, close by my home. The guys working there are nice, I've never had any issues. The place was clean from what I saw the only time we ever ate in. I don't think they have restrooms for customers though. I've had their lamb/beef platter and a side of fries. Both were really good. I like the way they season the lamb and how it was cooked--tender enough. I asked if they charge extra for extra sauce and the guy said they normally do but gave it to me for free. That was really nice of him. Just be careful of the hot sauce though, it does get hot if you dump loads of it on. read more

I want to show my support for this restaurant. The food, for what it is, when you can get it, and the quality was pretty good. And very well priced. Food: I would go between the lamb and beef platter or the chicken platter and it was really good. What done it for me, what how wholesome this place is. It's definitely a family run restaurant, but it's very genuine and the food and quality is there. Dont expect this place to be a sit down date place, but rather and every day, healthier option (better than fast food or gas station food, or better than kfc and A&w down the street) kind of place. With that in mind, it's family run, so it's ok to wait that extra minute for your food to be freshly made, but honestly, to me, it was worth it. I've been to Capitol Gyros once before and got my food to go and have ordered from it back when it was called Hefty Burgers on DoorDash long ago. Is it still called Hefty Burgers? Are they two separate things? They still have the Hefty Burgers sign up outside but it says Capitol Gyros on the building, so I'm not sure. I was the only one in the restaurant and was immediately greeted by the girl behind the counter. It didn't take me long to look at the menu and I opted for the Ultimate Gyro - a gyro wrap with chicken, beef, and lamb and the usual fixings. I rounded it off with some onion rings and a fountain drink. They have Pepsi products so I got a Diet Pepsi and sat down. Service was fast! Couldn't have been more than five minutes from the time that I ordered that they called my order from the counter and my food was ready. I picked it up and grabbed myself a seat in the corner, though I could've had any seat in the house. Food looked good and tasted good! Nothing out of the ordinary here: not the biggest or tastiest gyro but still solid and a filling meal for not too much money. The onion rings were piping hot and fresh out of the fryer without being too greasy and I was full by the time I finished everything. As this is my third visit, I think I can comment that the gyros are maybe not my favorite thing to get here, and I have previously enjoyed the burgers and plates more than the gyro I had today. That said, it was still fine! Just on the average size. Speaking from previous experiences, the plates are just a few bucks more and have enough food for two meals and the burgers are also decently priced with a variety of flavors and toppings. I had the falafel plate today and it was a vegetarian's dream come true! Every bite was an explosion of flavor. I recommend getting the feta cheese on top. The falafel (fried balls) were perfectly crisp and not oily at all. Side note - they have a drive through and dine-in option. Been going here for about a year since first moving to West Sac. Easily my favorite spot! Very reasonable prices and fast service. Really nice folks who work there, very accommodating. And of course, the food is amazing. I'm a big fan of their ultimate platter, where you get best of both worlds: chicken and lamb/beef. Also their chicken nuggets and falafel are pretty underrated. Give them a try! I am thankful they are open late, the drive-thru is convenient for a late night bite. Sometimes I go in to eat and there is plenty of seating, clean tables, and accessible condiments. You'll see the same faces working there and they definitely appreciate their repeat customers. No other patrons in sight except for one car in the drive-thru so it was easy to grab a table. Ordered 2 lamb/beef gyros with a side of large fries. $22.50 The gyro was doused in so much sauce (which did not resemble tzatziki sauce in any way) that you could not taste the meat. Besides the discolored lettuce, there were no other veggies like you would expect such as tomatoes, onions, etc. Regrettably, the worst gyro we have ever eaten. AVOID!! I came here yesterday for a falafel gyro, and I would give it 0 stars if I could but I will give 1 star because the attendant was really nice, and also the drive-thru aspect is convenient! About the food - the falafels tasted like they were 3 days old and were hard as rocks, could not even chew them. The gyro itself was loaded with this orange sauce and only had like 4 pieces of lettuce. Avoid this place if you can! :( read more

The food is great, but there have been multiple times where I've come 1-1.5 hours before closing and half the menu is unavailable (all fried items) because they don't want to clean the fryer later. Today I showed up at 11:45pm (mind you they close at 12, and I've come to order before so many times at this time because it's the time I get off work. I literally eat here at least 4 times a week because the food is genuinely good!) and he conveniently said they close at 11:40 now no longer at 12. I'm not sure why they don't want the business, as there were other people behind me in line, so there's obviously a demand.
