I drove almost an hour to this store in hopes of getting tall riding boots that fit well. The owner and one of her long time employees fitted me, and I was surprised to find that I wear a whole size smaller than what I was told by another store, and the other store got the calf size completely wrong as well. Thank goodness they didn't have the size they wanted to put me in there or I would have purchased riding boots that were too big for me, like my daughter who unfortunately bought her boots elsewhere and had to sell them and get fitted at Wyldewood. Long story short, come here for riding boots! The shop is small, but well-stocked with riding clothes for the enthusiast to the experienced rider. You'll find grooming supplies, tack, treats and more. The store is laid out well. My favorite section is the sale section, where I always find something I like for a remarkably good price. You'll find clothing, tack, hats and more at a price you won't want to pass up. Speaking of prices, we also found that their prices overall are very competitive, so you might want to start here before venturing elsewhere so you don't get irritated when you find it cheaper here after you already bought it somewhere else. ;) Have fun shopping!

This is an extremely disappointing Dover store that I drove an hour to get to. A store full of…read moremediocre merchandise and less than helpful staff. I was in the store for 10 + minutes and not one person offered to help. I actually walked to the counter and asked for help...and the help provided was neither enthusiastic or knowledgeable. The merchandise carried was from cheap brands and even poor color choices. In this day and age, a brick and mortar store needs to over SOMETHING to compete with online..this one does not!!

My daughter was counting down the days! After the first visit, we are equally impressed with this location, and look forward to seeing it get better and better as new staff is hired and trained. (They're hiring right now and have crews from out-of-state locations training new-hires.) Located in Green Oak Village Place outdoor mall, Dover Saddlery is a horse-lovers dream store. You'll find horse treats; clothing, boots, helmets, and accessories for riding; tack (bridles, saddles, bits, etc.); everything you need to groom and care for your horse (hoof picks, brushes, etc.), and much, much more. The staff is happy to help, but knows when to leave you alone if you don't want help. The store is laid out so that it is easily navigable. As long as you can navigate all those roundabouts on the road leading to the shopping mall, you'll find ample parking in the lot in front of the store. While we won't forget about our locally owned tack and equestrian shops, Dover is a welcome addition to Michigan's growing number of riders in need of equipment and goodies for themselves and their horses.

After spending many hours in a certain large tack store just down the road and having no luck I…read morecame down to Sporthorse. I hadn't been there in years. I was greeted immediately after walking in the door. I went to the counter to explained my predicament. One of the ladies immediately went with me to look at the bridles to find the appropriate color. She was very mindful of my budget and was really knowable about their stock. We found a few and went outside to get proper lighting as it was dark. I was thrilled to have options. Decided on the bridle. Went back inside and another employee helped me find a running martingale that matched. She also was really knowledgable on the martingales and let me know the on I wanted ran small so I bought the oversize which did end up fitting my horse. Wandered around and they have a great selection of clothing and even some plus size options. Honestly just an amazing selection of anything your heart desires. For all my tack needs that I cant find in my area I will be driving the 1.5 hours to go to Sporthorse.
