I visited this "Phone Repair Shop" kiosk Wheaton Mall on 8/27/23 and I had the battery in my iPhone…read more6 replaced and I purchased a cell phone case and a charging cable. I later found out that these items/services were grossly overpriced and that I was cheated by the man at this kiosk. I was chaged $60 to change the battery in my iPhone 6 (this was not even an Apple brand battery) when it should have cost $45 or less, I was charged $25 for a iPhone 6 case when this should have cost less then $5 and I was charged $30 (yes $30!) for a charging cord (that wasn't even an Apple brand cord) that should have cost less than $3. The man at the kiosk has manipulative selling tactics and he refused to give me a refund for the cable and case even after I pointed out how he charged me 10x the price for some of the items. Please do not visit this kiosk. I wish someone had warned me. This kiosk does not have their prices listed and this man charges people whatever he wants. Also, the service was below average. There are many other places, and honest places, that offer these services. Beware!

I went to the Big Screen Store because I wanted to support a local vendor and avoid big box stores…read more When we went in July of 2025, we purchased a Samsung 77" S95D OLED and the 1K sound system. Spent 4.25K, and they price-matched. The customer service at the time was excellent, and I felt like if anything went wrong with the TV, they'd have our back, unlike big box stores. Four months later, the TV won't turn on right in time for the holidays. While searching online for a solution, I realized there is a massive problem with the 77-inch Samsungs, especially the S95D (Best Buy said two of them died on their showroom floor). There is enough of a problem that a class action investigation is underway (link below). When I went to the store, the manager greeted me with "I saw your email," and yes, my email was angry. What else would you expect? You sold me an item that literally is a lemon. All the goodwill, and we're locally owned blah blah went out the door, and it's basically - hey, nothing we can do - sorry you're irrational. I was also told, Hey, we've never had any customers with multiple issues with the One Connect Box, so of course you'll find that when you search for it! It was the most flippant attitude I could have gotten, and it's OBVIOUS there is an issue with these 77-inch Samsungs, yet instead of just being transparent, they said, "We ran it up the flagpole." As an authorized Samsung dealer, I'd hope they'd have more pull to help their clients. I will never purchase an item from here again, and I recommend you never get a Samsung with a One Connect Box - they will break within 3-4 months. You might as well go to Best Buy, Costco or whatever beacuse in the end there is no power as a consumer at any of these places, and these guy's will say sorry, file a ticket with Samsung and then it's on you from there. That surprised me, because I specifically got my tires from Costco since I assumed the tire service would be as stellar as other parts of Costco (reliable, high-quality, good value). My tire installation took a while, they are busy, but my main issue comes later. The price seemed quite good and I like they use nitrogen. About 10 months after installing my tires, I had one tire have its sidewall damaged. I was alerted to this by TPMS during a road trip with family - not ideal time to have tire trouble. I drive a lot around DC for 10+ years, I've never had tire trouble, but I can't say if the fault was with the tire quality or if I just had bad luck with a pot hole or something. I had an expert help me put the spare on, and they noted that one of the lug nuts was crossthreaded, meaning the lug nut had likely been installed crooked or forced onto the stud during a prior wheel installation. That made it very difficult to get off the tire, and in fact the lug stud broke off while trying to get on the spare. Because the stud was damaged, I had to deal not only with the tire replacement but also a separate wheel-stud repair issue, which was costly. I called the tire center, they asked if I had brake pad work or something like since installation, and I had so I got off the phone. But I looked at my records and I only had rear brake pad work done which wouldn't involve the front tire being taken off and put back on, I believe (but obviously can't prove with certainty) that Costco was responsible for the lugnut cross threading. I write all this just in case anyone else has a lug nut issue like I did. I will get my tires from somewhere else in the future.
