I usually don't give reviews, but I just had to after going to this phone store. I haven't had such a great experience like this in a long time. Jordan was very professional, helpful and kind. Good customer service is important to me and with that said, I am so grateful that I found a phone store that I can continue going to in the future. My regular guy James is the one I deal with, but his friend from the Boost store next door has been running his shop for the past month and a half because he's not been there for whatever reason, but clearly he doesnt know what he's doing because half of James' customers have been coming in to pay their bills and get their phones on and he couldnt do things the way James did with speed and accuracy. I came in to pay my CLEAR internet bill and the guy who was handling James' shop couldnt put in the payment correctly and then it took two days to get the money refunded to my card which made me mad because my internet is what I use to communicate with my clients since I run a business. I came in to pay my cell bill the day before it was due and I was supposed to get a confirmation text verifying that I paid for service and I never got it and my phone was cut off the next day. I had to go over to the shop and show this guy the receipt and he got it straight because it was going to be world war III up in that store. I don't like people playing with my money and James is going to lose customers because his friend can't process payments correctly and make sure people's business is straight. Although the phone number is listed don't bother calling it nobody answers the phone anyway and the calls go to voicemail which is poor business manners. The shop is situated in Bronzeville just a couple blocks from King Drive so as many know how somewhat upscale the neighborhood is where this shop is located it's rather ghetto in nature. I would go someplace else and if you have carriers that allow you to do payments from a store or online through the automated feature where there's no fee to pay your bill. I think you'll save a lot of time and less stress because doing it that way will ensure that your payment actually went through and you don't have to dispute anything like I did today. I know this next month I will be paying my bill at a TMobile store because I'll know the payment went through when done through the kiosk. Don't bother with these cell phone places in the ghetto they're going to screw you over.

    I brought my non-working PCI card and computer to VFX & Technology after being told they had the…read moreproper equipment to diagnose and possibly repair it. I was told the diagnosis would take 24-48 hours. It took about a week. I paid $90 upfront for the diagnostic. I was later quoted $200 to replace the processor chip. I decided not to proceed with the repair and went to pick up my equipment. When I arrived, I was first told it was fixed. Then I was told it was not fixed but that a bad capacitor had been identified and it could be repaired in two hours. I agreed to wait, but then I was told they were going to lunch for a couple of hours. I returned the next day. The next day, the door was locked. I called and was told they were closed. When I asked to pick up my property, the owner became hostile and threatened to call the police. I was told to return the following week. When I went back at 11:30 a.m., I was told there was an issue at the shop and that I would need to meet at another storefront in Hyde Park. I was told to come at 1:30 p.m., then it was changed to 2:30 p.m. I refused the change, and eventually received the address to retrieve my equipment. In the end, nothing was repaired. I was also told they did not have the programmer required and that it would cost $200 for one. I later purchased the same programmer new on eBay for $35 and a replacement chip for $44. The communication was inconsistent, timelines were not honored, and picking up my own property became unnecessarily difficult. Based on this experience, I would not return.

What was predicted to be an 3day repair turned into over 3 weeks due to mistakes, missed deliveries and missteps. After repairing he lied about part delays but later admitted to his staff re-cracking the device . Only after lying about it being delivered broken. He also missed the 3 attempts to delivering when he wasn't open during his business hours. He then completely disassembled my device for an external issue. Only to have my device not turn on after he finally called me to pick up after 3 delays and extensions. He never apologized, never took accountability never fixed the problem. In fact he made it worse. I left with additional issues. Bad decision. Bad business. Bad experience.
