We've lived about 2 minutes from this place for over a year and were finally lured in by the tasty smell of cooking chicken. I got the chicken breast sandwich and it was really quite good! My meat my certainly juicy, although not crispy....to their defense, it had no skin on it so I really didn't really expect the crispy aspect. But it was very well seasoned. The magical yellow sauce is great. The husband got the carnita sandwich - beef was a tad fatty but was tasty nonetheless. We might revisit this before another year passes. read more

For what this place is, its fantastic. It's a great place to get a cheap lunch or dinner that is significantly better than fast food or at your typical sandwich place. My wife and I love getting takeout from here after a long week of work. For under $15, we can get a really good, easy takeout meal for two. This place is better for takeout than dining in. There isn't a lot of seating, and the seating isn't designed for you to sit and enjoy a meal with other people (think lunch seating for workers during the day looking to eat quickly and get back to work). But for takeout, it's fantastic. I highly recommend the Gruyere chicken breast and charbroiled chicken platters. read more

When I got to me office I found out that I was given re-heated food from at least previous day, I've spent the best of my afternoon in the bathroom thanks for Crisp and Juicy. Do not order anything outside of chicken or you are just at their mercy if time is involved. NOT the quality you are expecting please do not set your expectations too high. They want to rush to get you out, reheat the rice in the microwave while still in its packaged up goodness from overnight. Their nice pre-packaged salad that seems like it has been encased in that shielding on the top shelf of the refrigerator a little more than just overnight. MMM...Yummy! This location on East West Highway is delicious. I get the ¼ platter of white meat with black beans, white rice, and plantains. This meal comforts me and hits the spot every time. The service here is prompt, if not attentive. There is a cooler featuring Everfresh drinks, water, and Spanish style sodas. The hood over the spit fire oven is meant to absorb the smoke and heat, but I think it might need replacing, because the ventilation in this take out is noticeably poor. There is a small eat in area and bench outdoors for dining. I recommend this location to anyone seeking authentic Peruvian chicken. I love Crisp and Juicy. Everything is delicious on the menu from the chicken to the yucca. My only complaint is that the chicken sandwiches are way more expensive then the regular 1/2 chicken with sides. I understand that it is breast meat, but how can you justify $7 for a hamburger roll, a chicken breast and a piece of pineapple, no fries; while for $6 I can get a 1/2 chicken, fries and a salad. read more

Yummmmm - I've bragged on this place to anyone who'll listen ever since I've eaten there. Simple, delicious plates: rotisserie chicken with a great seasoning (pretty much like a lawry's season salt) - black beans, buttery rice...plantains....yumm. Nothing overly surprising, but our food came out lightning fast and it was $10. Wish it was 7 or 8- it feels just a hair overpriced, but I'm sure that's due to it's prime location. Yes, please. I got the backed chicken breast, rice and beans, and plantain. Soo good. The chicken had just the right amount of crispy and juicy ( I guess that is where the name comes from). The beans and rice were OK not great but good and the plantains were tasty. The wait was really long for take out but overall I was pretty happy with my food. read more

Really great chicken amazing price lots of delicious sides all rice and beans fantastic. The sweet potato fries were the crispiest I have had. I hope I live next to this place one day! We came here to ride the train into DC to tour with my family, and I will definitely seek this place out again. Today I ordered an Crisp & Juicy salad and honestly I could've went to giant and made a better salad for the same price. I basically paid for lettuce and 4 slices of tomatoes. Little to no chicken. They even gave me the wrong salad dressing after I asked the a specific one. I don't know. I love food but I hate having a bad experience with a place I keep hearing is amazing things about. YUM YUM YUM! I get cravings for the chicken at this place all the time. The Yucca fries are fantastic, especially when dipped in the hot garlic sauce. My go to item on the menu is the Cesar salad, I normally get the large because somehow I always forget how big it is, I normally go for the garlic sauce as my dressing instead of the Cesar dressing which is fab'. My husband normally gets one of the platters or a sandwich which are also good. The beans and other sides besides the Yucca fries are OK, but I could take them or leave them. We always carry out, but the seating is clean and the staff are generally nice. It's a shame you have to pay for extra sauce though. read more

A solid 3 stars. The name and interior decor of this restaurant just scream "hole in the wall" (and, thus, is usually not the kind of place I frequent). But I've been here twice and have been generally pleased each time. Service is fast and friendly - which is always a plus. The food is decent and filling -- and for a reasonable price. I get the 1/4 or 1/2 chicken with two sides. The chicken is moist and generally flavorful. The rice and (black) beans are nothing to sneeze at, but trust me when I say that it's the plaintains that steal the show -- they are DELICIOUS! I wouldn't go out of my way to make a special trip here, but if you're in the downtown Silver Spring Area and want to eat a place that is NOT a national chain (think: Red Lobster, Panera, Chik-Fil-A, etc. a few blocks away), then I suggest trying this place out for a change of pace. read more

I would like to give this place two and half stars but that's not an option. I came in at about 8:30 on a Saturday night. Service was friendly. Pros: few dollars less than Nando's. Easier parking. Fried plaintains. The chicken was a little meatier than Nando's. Cons: very very casual with weak chairs. They also blatantly microwave my side dishes (microwave is right there on the counter). The mashed potatoes were obviously powdered. The portion of side was rather small (unless it's in a single serve container and not in the styrofoam box with your chicken). The sauce (which I hate but my boyfriend loves) is very minimal and extras cost extra. Overall, unimpressed and not pleased with the side dishes. The chicken was like any other rotisserie chicken, the spicy sauce was just a confusing smash of flavors, but the real disappointment is the powdered bland, mealy, mush-mouth mashed "potatoes". Even though it's a little less than Nando's (but only by like 50cent) I would rather pay the extra for a nicer eat-in spot, beautiful cardboard to-go containers (yes that matters to me), walking distance from my apartment (albeit parking isn't the best) and better chicken. I ordered food from here because of an Uber delivery deal which gave me $20 off so my meal was about $6. I thought hey why not. This chicken feels--slimy? Like it's uncooked and unwashed. The seasoning was meh. And half the chicken was not cooked to a satisfactory level. The prevalence of Peruvian style chicken means that a lot of places that claim to make it are actually very mediocre. The best Peruvian style chicken in MD existed almost a decade ago and was called El Pollo Rico in Wheaton and you could smell it from miles away. I love Crispy and Juicy! I've decided that it is my fav between El Pollo Rico and Nando's for chicken. I go to the one in Wheaton because it is closer but the parking can be a pain since it is in the mall. If I don't want to deal with the congestion I go to the one on Rockville Pike where I can get in and out pretty quickly. The chicken is ALWAYS good, no matter what location and I like the hot sauce and usually get extra. I opt for a big side of plaintains instead of any thing else and the plaintains are yummy! The chicken is absolutely Amazing. I hate to give only three stars but it's only fair. I come here usually at least once a month and for some time now the HVAC system has not been working. It is smoking hot in here, so hot they have box fans plugged in trying to help. If the food was not so good I would have left a 1 Star review. So I ate the rice and threw the rest away. I ordered two 1/2 chicken dinners. I was taking one home for my fiancé. I sure cant feed him this nasty chicken. They get two stars only because of a positive history prior to today's problems. My girlfriend and I ordered a half chicken with two large house salads plus extra dressing. Please note that they charge for extra dressing. 1. Both salads had no dressing at all, despite the request for extra and the charge on bill. 2. Half chicken had a very large, long hair rubbed into its seasoning. 3. We called for a refund and were told that we would receive a call once the refund was complete. 2 hrs later we call back to find out if the if the refund was done and their response...."yeah, we did it already. I have been buying chicken, fries and plantains from this play since 2008 and have seen different management/personnel throughout the years, but the food has stayed consistently good. I consider this place on par with some of the best Peruvian chicken places in Wheaton. To avoid waiting, order by phone first. Don't forget to get an order of their mild dipping sauce.
