Another awesome experience yesterday with brunch at Crisp! Food and service were impeccable!

We went to CRISP and really liked it! We loved the space and how the interior was designed. The garlic knots, honey drizzled popcorn chicken, and Mac & Cheese were delicious. The cocktails were also very good. My boyfriend didn't love the tuna special he got, but everyone else at the table really enjoyed their main dishes. The dessert was okay. We got an ice cream sundae and to me, the chocolate sauce had a sour taste to it. My boyfriend couldn't taste it though, so we aren't sure what it was. I've seen pictures of other desserts that look amazing, so we will have to go back and try some other ones. Overall, we really enjoyed dinner and would definitely go back. I think I would give it another try! We went for brunch one weekend. It's a fun place and fun crowd, it just seemed they got a bit behind in the kitchen. My chicken and churros was delicious, but my partner is a pancake/French toast guy so he was a bit disappointed there were no options like that. Went here with my husband for an anniversary dinner. Luckily we were seated without a reservation (Thursday night), but would definitely suggest getting one, as it is a smaller place. Owner's comment does not quite make sense. I did not report being charged a no show fee. I only commented on the punitive policy as a warning to others. I was reporting that when we received the bill we had a 'non-cash' fee that we were charged to use a debit card as payment. That is a silly thing to do as having cash isn't convenient for many customers and there are risks to the business in keeping/managing large sums of cash. It's perfectly within the owner's right to decide how to pass along credit card fees - this way in my opinion is not customer friendly. We had no interaction with restaurant management at our visit and we did not contest any of the charges. We paid the bill and tipped our capable server well. read more

The menu and social media pictures looked appealing, but we found the food was pretty awful actually- almost inedible really. Very greasy and so lacking of flavor. Also, our food did not look like some of the pictures I am seeing on Yelp of the same menu items, so obviously there is a problem with consistency. The service was poor and waits were very long. If it was the first few weeks of being open, maybe I'd let it slide. But there have been open too long to still be functioning this poorly. There are so many excellent restaurants in Rochester for a Sunday brunch- this is not one of them! read more

I've been to Crisp several times and I was back yesterday. My order wasn't quite right so the waitress immediately took it back to correct the mistake. It wasn't a huge mistake but when I got the new order, the owner came to the table and said there would be no charge for it. I was totally surprised and never expected that! We've been to Crisp a few times - for dinner and lunch and have liked it, each time. Their honey truffle popcorn chicken appetizer with sauce (I keep craving it) and the chicken sandwich are really delicious. The fried pickles, the billionaire bacon, the house made garlic knots.. all good. I had the braised beef and carrots, twice. First time, it was EXCELLENT. The second time, the meat was a little fatty, but still good. Next time, I want to try their house burger. We will keep going back. Service and cocktails were good, too. read more

Always a treat. Intimate and casual. The Chicken & Churros is always a good choice if you're having a hard time deciding. Service has always been personable and attentive. I have out-of-town family who repeatedly ask to dine here when visiting Rochester. Off-street parking is quite limited, but on-street spots are pretty easy to come by. read more

I am blown away how a place like this is still even open. Their disappointing Caesar salad was like $17 and consisted of a charred to rock Romain heart with literally 5 small cubes of canned chicken. It took 40 min to get our food after we ordered a simple salad and burger and their cocktails were mediocre at best. Someone should tell them that inflated prices does not equate to inflated quality. We were a party of 3, dining early to make a play at RBTL. Our server, Christina, was attentive, knowledgeable and fun. The food was delicious and lived up to its name "Crisp". We shared the deviled eggs , so yummy and creamy. One entree was the Thai shrimp over sticky rice, I had the fish tacos ( broiled) and the other entree was the chicken and churros. All three were so delicious and definitely lived up to its name . The restaurant filled up quickly, with a lovely mix of age groups. They've only been open a couple of months but wow! The food is fantastic & the servers are happy so the vibe is upbeat & inviting. I tried the Grain Bowl, Billion Dollar Bacon, & Fish Tacos. Every bite made want to yell yes, yes, yes! (Kinda like Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally.) This is a place you want to check out for sure. Crisp shouldn't serve ribs if they don't know how to cook them! Maybe there was a substitute chef on the night we ate there? Two of the four of us ordered the "low and slow " ribs. They were severely undercooked and it was difficult to cut or even gnaw the meat off the bones. They just had not been cooked long enough. We told our server that we were unhappy with them and she said "I'll let the kitchen know." No offer to redo, switch entrees, anything. We also had the braised beef and carrots and the ahi tuna which were about a B+. The popcorn chicken was good but the crispy pickles (which I was so looking forward to!) were bland. Before dinner I had a cinnamon maple whiskey sour which was dynamite! Maybe they are falling into the new genre of restaurants that have great drinks but mediocre food? We might hit up their bar again but won't be returning for dinner. read more

Can't say enough about this cool restaurant in the South Wedge. From the moment we walked in we felt welcome, staff was friendly and the aromas!! We tried out a few different bites because we were looking at their event space in the back and loved each different taste. From the fried tofu bites to gluten free mahi tacos and Mac n cheese with pork belly- we were impressed. Cocktail, beer and wine menus weee interesting and diverse. 4 of us had Sunday dinner at Crisp, our 1st visit. We sat outside c on a lovely evening, Crisp opened recently. Our waitress was excellent, answering questions, taking our order without a rush. As a vegetarian I had a lovely grain bowl adding tofu. It was enjoyable and I took more than half home. My husband had Mahi Tuns cooked pink to "perfection" with veggies and fries. Our friends had a wonderful ragu and we all shared hedonist ice cream hot fudge sundaes. We tried indoors and it is noisy so we moved outdoors, still sometime noisy with traffic but we wnjoyed a lovely dinner. Note the entrance has a step upward, the patio is easily accessible, the entries in the $22.00 to $28.00 range with salads, starters and side dishes available and veggie and vegan available. read more

I've eaten here a few times. Great food, adventurous menu, good service. Cute place, but don't sit near the door in winter.
