My first time there was my last sorry . If you want fish that I had here go buy the store bought version's of van di camps . fillets were soggy and rubbery. The "chips" also were nasty . We ordered the hushpuppies and after eating 1 I spit out the dough . It was undercooked. This is probably my favorite steakhouse in town. My favorite part was waiting 30 minutes only to find out this place only serves fish. But in all seriousness the wait time here is not worth it considering that they give you half an hour to take in how dirty this restaurant is only to finally be given your order with no words other than "tartar sauce?". If you are in a hurry this is not the place for you. If you are ordering from a delivery service-Grub Hub or Postmates, they are even worse. They will not start the order until you are standing there waiting (eventhough they had your order and you spent 10 minutes driving there already). The atmosphere is dismal, even a little trashy. My dad wanted to go to this place based on a newspaper review. It was on the other side of town which was a negative, when we got there (approx noon), there were at least 6-7 people in front of us. When we got up to the cashier, who was awesome, very smiley and super fast taking our order. The kitchen is open so I counted 12 tickets ahead of us. We went out to the eating area which had 3 picnic tables and we took a seat. There was a gentleman sitting next to us who said they had been waiting for 25 minutes. I had nothing but time so I figured what the hey. about 30 minutes later, we finally got our food. They only had canned sodas and water. I got the fish tacos and OMG they were so delicious! The fish was very crispy, the sauce and toppings so fresh! I also got onion rings and again...YUM!!! This place is definitely worth the trip. Clean?!!!!!! I don't think so! My husband and I ate there last and we got so sick. We had to go to the hospital and get treatment to stop throwing up! I had the shrimp basket and my husband had the chicken strips. The chicken was a little salty but the shrimp tasted good, but I payed for it later. Our hospital bill starting last night was 500 dollars a person and I'm sure that's not the last bill. I would give them zero stars if I could. read more

When this place opened, I could only rave about the service and food quality. Now the prices are up and the portions have gone down. Sometimes the food is good and sometimes just fair. They have the same attitude as other establishments throughout Tucson, which is.. Great place for about a year or 2, then up prices, lower quality, and serve less to save. They think since they have a customer base people will keep coming. Some will stop in, but the originals will eventually stop. Costs them more money in the long run when people catch on and go elsewhere. Hard to get customers back once they figure them out. Nevertheless, it's the Tucson mentality I guess. Was sooo looking forward to trying this place after reading the reviews. I love good fish and chips but, unfortunately, I didn't find it here. I will say the quality of the fresh cod they used is excellent but I found the preparation lacking. The fish I had in my order certainly wasn't "crispy". For about the same price, the fish and chips at Culver's (yes, big chain; not a Tucson "original") was far better and much closer to what I have had when travelling in London & Dublin. Food arrived on time through GrubHub driver even though he somehow had the wrong address. We noticed after he left that he had forgotten the beverages so I called him. He said there were no beverages on the order and to call crispys. I called crispies and the girl immediately acknowledge she had forgotten to include the beverages with the driver and said she would call the driver to see if he could bring us them.?? She said she would call me back.After not getting a return phone call I called her back and she said sorry that the driver was busy and short of coming in and picking up the beverages myself there was nothing they could do about it. When I asked to speak to a manager she informed me the manager was too busy to come to the phone . Then a male coworker got on the phone and informed me that if I wanted the drinks I would have to come in and pick them up myself and then hung up on me! I have never been treated so poorly by anyone at any restaurant. This was a $35 order and I'm sure there are plenty of other restaurants in Tucson that would be happy to take my money and treat me with some respect. First visit here was today! All I have to say is AWESOME!!! My son loved the fried shrimp and the fried cod was amazing! Batter was perfectly seasoned and not greasy! Coleslaw was so good too! And well what can I say about the hush puppies, best we've ever had!!!! All that was missing was some malt vinegar :) We will definitely be back! read more

Good little dive fish n chips place in Tucson. I had the shrimp and fries, sis had cod and shrimp. Everything tasted excellent, unassuming with picnic tables outside and a small dining area. Shrimp was big and batter was flakey and flavorful. The fish was tasty and the seasoned fries too. Homemade cocktail sauce was great, tarter fell flat. I was pleasantly surprised when stopping in here to try it out. The fries are DELICIOUS! The fish is very flaky and good. A little on the small side though for the price. They are the size of a larger fish stick, but really tasty. They are cod and the owners should look at making them larger. A 4 pcs fish plate (with fries and 1 drink) was 10.99. Not bad but a larger portion of fish would be great. They will give you Malt Vinegar if you ask (saw another review that mentioned they didn't have any). The sampler appetizer plate is quite good and large. All in all a great little hidden gem...and employees were friendly and considerate. read more

Just had lunch here. Prices are great and the fish is tender, flaky, and not a bit dry. I haven't tried their wings yet, bit their fish and chips and fish tacos are delicious. I'm not much of a fish person - unless it's deep fried and has a coating. And yes, I do miss Long John Silvers - although the breading did get a bit redundant. That being said - I love Crispy's. There's minimal breading - but it has the crunchy exterior I like. And the fish is thick and moist. It doesn't taste "fishy", which is a must in my book. And the cole slaw, usually an add on, is really tasty as well. It's slightly sweet, but not overly so. I plan on putting this on my restaurant rotation. read more

Best Fish-n-Chips I've had since Long John Silver's (LJS) closed! If LJS was still in business, I would definitely make the switch to Crispy's "freshly made" Fish-n-Chips! We split the #4 mix and match combo so we could try a little of everything, and it was delicious! Very crispy, not too greasy. The meat portions were larger than expected. I'm used to hush puppies that have a little more spice, but I added hot sauce and they were great. We asked for the fries to be extra crispy and weren't disappointed. They have a good mix of sauces (ranch, tartar, ketchup, malt vinegar, shrimp sauce) plus a huge tray of hot sauce (many varieties). They also have a good soda selection (including both Pepsi and Coke products). The wait was a little long so we'll probably call ahead next time, but not a big deal. There was indoor and outdoor seating. I was surprised by the reviews that said it was dirty? It's definitely a "hole in the wall" kind of place, but didn't seem dirty to me. read more
