    I'm hungry! For good chicken
    Dawn C.

I am a fan of this place; right off Ina and the I-10. It's kind of hard to get to if you are headed north on the I-10 and exit Ina Rd, since you have to turn left across Ina....a miracle in and of itself. The food is reasonably priced. The staff is always friendly and I like the food a lot. It's very much the same as Pollo Feliz, with roasted chicken, salads, chimi's, enchiladas, quesadillas and so on. I love their chicken chimi. They serve two small chimi's with red or green sauce for 5 bucks. I think I hit this place up and get their chicken every other week or so on the way home from work. if you dine in there is a salsa bar and a TV to watch. So if you are looking for a dinner for two for under $20, this is the ticket. Plus they have flan, rice pudding and cheesecake for dessert. Yum.

The name gave us a giggle.

I've been here a couple times. Once in late September 2013, once April 2014. Both times weren't bad. I have tried the tacos, the enchiladas, guacamole burrito, and cheesecake. My favorite us the burrito. My husband ordered it, so I only had a bite, but it was a delicious bite. Very flavorful and juicy. The enchiladas were a little plain, but you do get a good amount for $4 and change. The tacos are a good deal as well. I'm sure the cheesecake is made with processed junk, but it's very creamy and delicious junk. The TV is irritating... Who wants to watch lying media while they enjoy a meal out? That's my only complaint, though. If you're looking for a quick, cheap meal, this is a good place to go. It's usually pretty quiet, other than the television.

This place is great for tasty grilled chicken. The salsa bar is awesome, and the price is just right.

I selected the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen, and my husband chose the Spicy Chicken Sandwich accompanied by waffle fries. Both dishes were exceptionally good; in fact, I would even go so far as to say it was the finest chicken sandwich I have ever tasted. I am still thinking about that chicken sandwich and eagerly anticipate my next visit. There was one individual attending to the counter, and I am unsure of the number of staff working in the kitchen. Nevertheless, the service was quite commendable. They offer a compact dining area indoors and a few tables on their patio. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment for both their Ramen and their outstanding fried chicken. I certainly plan to explore other items on their menu during my next visit.

It was good music just way too loud. The counter server was very soft spoken so it was difficult to hear anything he said over the loud music. I was disappointed that their combos don't include a drink. I ordered a combo #3 that was $13.49 for a slider, a tender and a small fry. Then I had to drop another $2.19 for a small soda. That's a total $15.68 for a lunch combo meal! Way too expensive! It took me 15 minutes to get my combo. People who came in after me received their food before me. The food was marginal at best. The tender in the slider was warm and tender/soft. The side tender was dry and stringy. The seasoning they use was too salty for my taste, and wasn't very hot. Less salt and more hot would have been much better. The fries were warm but very dry. The restaurant was somewhat dirty, especially the front door that was encrusted with oil, grease and seasoning. And worst of all I was bothered by at least 4 flys throughout my lunch there. Overall, not impressed at all. Highly doubt I will ever return to this restaurant.

I just got off of a two week fast with my wife. Basically, we had to abstain from meats and sweets…read more Shortly after the fast was complete, one of the places I decided to commemorate "getting through it" was Popeye's. The hunger was real -- to get a nice three-piece [two thighs one leg] combo with a sweet tea Arnold Palmer and Cajun fries with ketchup -- for my sweetie, a crispy chicken sandwich with barbecue sauce, mashed potatoes and another Arnold Palmer -- yum yum... Right? I get to the speaker to place the order in earnest anticipation. The Young guy who serviced my order sounded a little slow in processing things, by which I had to clarify the exacts of my order several times. Per my wife's wishes, I had asked for barbecue sauce on the side; a pretty basic order and request. When I finally made it to the window and having payed the money owed for the two meals with sides, receiving my drinks and food, I drove off from the establish thinking to myself "Yay... This is going to be an epic commemoration!" ... to quote comedian Lewis Black "... but I was @#%¥ing wrong, wasn't I!!!" The first letdown had to do with the overall [customer service] presentation. It is a known fact that ketchup and fries go together like peas in a pod -- after several seconds of rustling around in the bags, I succumbed to the fact that my drive-thru experience had to shift to a walk-in experience -- fine! Now, was I greeted with optimum customer service? Nope! The employees just did a couple of roundabout glances in my direction and kept flexing the glory of their backs like they were on display at the Pantheon -- I could not establish eye contact. Now... I wasn't going to cause a scene with loud vocalizations -- It's a social risk to come off as crazy [especially while being melanin saturated] over a simple request for a couple of ketchup packets... But it was mighty tempting, as I had to wait 10 minutes, with only one customer in front of me, just to finally be acknowledged by a staff member and told indifferently "We're out of ketchup". This was fine, I suppose, only because I got creative with cocktail and hot sauces for my fries... However, I should have inquired about barbecue sauce, because when my wife had got into the car from shopping and looked through the bags for the barbecue sauce she had expressly told me to ask for, the little containers were nowhere to be found -- it's the little things that make for a happy life with a happy wife... Ugh!!!! The second let down had to do with the drinks. I tasted my Arnold Palmer; expecting a harmonious 50-50 blend of sweet tea and lemonade, I actually tasted 75% sweet tea and 25% lemonade. What's funny as it is crazy? On the flipside, my wife tasted her drink, and it was the retrograde/opposite; 25% sweet tea and 75% lemonade -- minor discrepancy? Is the principle formulation of an Arnold Palmer too... umm, well... complex? Finally, and the most impressionable aspect about my "made it through the fast" commemoration at Popeye's is when I came upon the second box of my meal. Knowing that my second thigh would be therein any seeing that it had its own box, I thought "this is going to be a big, juicy, spicy crunchy treat". When I opened that box, any delightful anticipation of something with substantial mass was immediately snuffed out with the sight of what looked like an enhanced chicken nugget -- it barely cleared half the size of my drumstick -- I was just to assume "they skimped me on the meat capacity of the second thigh...?!...Why?" The dimensions (length, width, and height) of this nugget impostor was just under 2" x 1.5" x 1". (see attached photos). Yeah... To sum it all up, this wasn't the experience I was hoping for to help celebrate "making it through a fast" -- this location should not be called Popeye's, it should be called Wimpy's -- As far as an association of "strong" character is concerned, their customer service and consumer supply game was very "weak"! What other Wimpy's establishment could you find such lack of virtue: (#1) "They will gladly pay you ketchup/bbq sauce Tuesday [supposedly] for your money today". (#2) It takes real gall to transfigure a three-piece combo [with a drink and side] into the mass proportions of a kid's meal -- What's the name of the property management, Brutus & Bluto Inc.?

Service, they were all standing around laughing and giggling and talking of course they didn't get my ordered correctly. Ambience, they didn't have anyone at the drive thru and they weren't busy. If I can rate them with no stars I would. I don't like to leave any bad comment or review but this place really need to improve customer service and pay attention when customers ordering. I guess that's why this place isn't busy like other Popeyes location.
