I am a fan of this place; right off Ina and the I-10. It's kind of hard to get to if you are headed north on the I-10 and exit Ina Rd, since you have to turn left across Ina....a miracle in and of itself. The food is reasonably priced. The staff is always friendly and I like the food a lot. It's very much the same as Pollo Feliz, with roasted chicken, salads, chimi's, enchiladas, quesadillas and so on. I love their chicken chimi. They serve two small chimi's with red or green sauce for 5 bucks. I think I hit this place up and get their chicken every other week or so on the way home from work. if you dine in there is a salsa bar and a TV to watch. So if you are looking for a dinner for two for under $20, this is the ticket. Plus they have flan, rice pudding and cheesecake for dessert. Yum. read more

I went through the drive through and asked for a number three. I get to the window and I find out the cashier thought I only asked for a drink. Fine, I'll just order the meal without the drink. She says she can't Charge me for the meal without the drink. I don't want two drinks. I only ordered one in the first place because it came with the meal. I really didn't want one in the first place. Fine refund my drink and charge me for the meal. You can't do that. Wow, give me back my card then. I left without ordering. My husband went there to get a whole chicken and was supposed to be able to choose whatever he likes for the sides, but he was forced to choose something he doesn't want even though he kept asking for rice. I don't know if it's because they don't understand English well (my husband is a native English speaker though) or just don't care about customers and their customer service. Dry Mexican Food? This just wasn't too good. Rolled chicken taquitos were so hard they nearly broke my teeth, like they were fried twice. Quesadilla also just meh, very little in the way of fillings. Everything was on the very dry side, meat especially. Stingy with the dry meat, too. Maybe like another reviewer said, it was microwaved. Beans were best part. Slow and haphazard experience in drive thru (I was only person in drive thru and it was over 15 minutes), and just a not gonna go back kinda experience. There's so many other choices out there. Had to pick someone up at the Jack Ferrier next door and decided to eat dinner here. It was very quiet with just a few people that came in to get food to go. The beans are really as well as the carne asada quesadilla. The salsa bar was nice and fresh and the place is clean. The owner was very nice and offered the kiddos complimentary churros. The only negative thing is the restroom had that sewer smell that he experience at some public restaurant, my husband said it's just a matter of them cleaning our some drain or something, like maintance. Wifey and I had lunch there today (Sat, Feb 4). I wanted her to try the fabulous way they spice their grilled chicken. Actually, we went to the store at Tucson Blvd on Valencia so that's the one I'm reviewing. We were doing some shopping today and running all over Tucson. We just planned to be down on Valencia about lunch time so that she could sample the place. Wifey got the Combo #2 which is some grilled chicken with a side of beans and a drink. I got the chicken guacamole burrito with a small side of beans. I usually just get the grilled chicken so today I went for something a little different. Were we glad we did. Wifey loves their grilled chicken and cleaned every scrap of meat down to the bone. Couldn't say enough good things about how tasty it was. She also like the salsa and the pico. For my part the burrito was just great. Lots of chicken too rolled up in a wonderful flour tortilla. I poured on the salsa, including into the beans. Just great. My hats off to the young lady who runs the counter, she's always there. I don't know how she does it. Runs the counter and the drive through all at once. She's fabulous. Works hard. Very nice. The place was hopping this afternoon too. A few large groups getting the chicken and a half with two sides and eating it all up. Recommend more people go there. There are a few places like this in and around town. Serve good honest food that makes you happy. Don't waste your time at some of the fancy shmancy places with names that start with "El." Check your orders entirely before leaving. The service was horrible and they don't care about their customers. You have to be super specific with your order. They won't try to fix it they just want to argue their point. Disappointing. read more

This chicken is amazing. The price is low. The quality is high. I love that. I have loved the taco salad, the burritos, the quesadillas. Really you can't go wrong! With the construction on Ina being completed, it's even easier to get to. I cannot recommend the refried beans enough. They have a hint of spice. read more

I've been here a couple times. Once in late September 2013, once April 2014. Both times weren't bad. I have tried the tacos, the enchiladas, guacamole burrito, and cheesecake. My favorite us the burrito. My husband ordered it, so I only had a bite, but it was a delicious bite. Very flavorful and juicy. The enchiladas were a little plain, but you do get a good amount for $4 and change. The tacos are a good deal as well. I'm sure the cheesecake is made with processed junk, but it's very creamy and delicious junk. The TV is irritating... Who wants to watch lying media while they enjoy a meal out? That's my only complaint, though. If you're looking for a quick, cheap meal, this is a good place to go. It's usually pretty quiet, other than the television. read more

It was okay. I purchased enchiladas and my son purchased a quesadilla. He had to go inside because the quesadilla wasn't put in the bag. The horchata was just mediocre. The chicken is really good when its fresh but 1 out of 5 times im always given microwaved chicken. Service is good though.

I've never been to the Grant location so can't speak to how that location operates. However, the service at the Valencia & the Ina locations almost always seems to be less than awesome, but because I usually really like the crispy chicken tacos I ignore that. My coworkers have actually taken ChickeNuevo out of of the lunchtime rotation altogether because the food in their opinion wasn't worth the attitude regularly received. I get that it's not not going to be service at the level of In-N-Out, but it's just food being ordered. Unfortunately, the last several times the quality seems to be noticeably downhill at the Ina location. When I tried to correct an order last week that was made incorrectly I kept getting hung up on (multiple times), so eventually I had to give up & eat the order which had grown cold. Then when I finally got through I was asked if I still had the items from over an hour before or had pictures to "prove it", & was then left on hold, all while the person talked on speakerphone to presumably the owner about all of this in Spanish (which my husband translated, Sonya). After being left of hold, with lots of back & forth on speakerphone I was told that the order would be replaced, and for me to give my name the next time I went back. It turns out that was a lie. I went back today to redeem that and still give them business by buying my husband lunch there as well, but was told my order wouldn't be replaced as said. The. I was told if it was replaced it would come out of the cashier's check. I refused to do that because it's not her fault. I cannot stand businesses that pull these kinds of tactics with their customers but with their employees especially. Just be honest if you didn't plan to replace it! read more

My boyfriend came home one day with a pretty amazing deal from here! On Wednesday's they have a deal for 1/2 a chicken, 2 sides and tortillas for $15 but here is the kicker.... you get 8 pieces free as well!!! Needless to say this is going to become a Wednesday night tradition! I would have given this place 5 stars but.... Needs Work: The rice is pretty boring and the staff seemed pretty annoyed that we ordered two of the specials. Also there is a salsa bar but you get only 4 tiny cups when it is take out (that's ridiculous since were had 6 people eating!) Positive: The chicken is amazing! The tortillas seem pretty fresh and the beans were really good. Overall we will be going there again but really the special is what makes it worth it! read more

Recently picked up a family meal with a whole chicken, beans, rice, tortillas, etc. Very good meat & sides, much better than your average fast food. I've also had the guacamole chicken burrito and it was very good, totally packed with dark meat chicken, really good! I'll go back often! read more

I love the Chicken Salads at this place. They come in a tortilla shell and have a lot of beens, rice lettuce with really good grilled chicken. I used to go to the Pollo Feliz on Tucson and Valencia. That is now a ChickeNuevo and the food is still just as good. It is nice to have one in the neighborhood. This location is in an old Long John Silvers right next to Miss Saigon (which is the old Perkins) There has been a lot of repurposing in this area and ultimately both of these are moves in the right direction. You get a lot of food for you money at this place and I have yet to have something I didn't enjoy. read more

Not bad as long as you know what you're getting into. I mean, it's a fast food combo Chicken/Mexican joint. I agree with previous reviewers that the chicken is actually really tasty. The Mexican has been a bit more hit or miss. I really liked the green chili chimichanga, but hubs' red chili enchiladas were just "meh." Not terrible, but really nothing special. My biggest problem is I'm always torn between wanting a "regular" chicken meal (e.g., breast & leg) versus a Mexican combo meal (like enchiladas or a burrito). Both are decent, especially for the low price. Overall, two thumbs up. read more

I hate places that advertise with a coupon, but then have special conditions. Did the Drive-in with a coupon, "buy one, get one free, up to $8". When they looked at the coupon they said they would only take the coupon if we bought an $8 combo, which was the most expensive item. NO-GO. Went to El Pollo Loco instead. read more

I went back and gave it one more try, because as I mentioned before, the food is good. Not only was the order wrong again, (1 breast, 4 thighs, 3 wings and 4 drumsticks [should be whole chicken and a half]) . When I asked the cashier about my order, she quickly told me that their special has always been that way and told me that half a chicken was what ever 4 pieces they choose to give, because a chicken has 8 pieces and 4 is half of 8. I told her that her advertised sign did not mention that and that anywhere you order a half chicken you recieve the pieces as follows: 1 breast, 1 wing, 1 drumstick and 1 thigh. And their menu has a half chicken combo, with those exact pieces. She just repeated that 4 is half of 8, like I was unable to comprehend that. And than I mentioned that I didn't even get 1 full chicken as I was 1 breast short and the replaced one of the thighs for a breast, but seemed yo be very irritated by being called out on that. I just hope that they fix their sign and stop deceiving their customers with false advertising. I have given up, will never go back. read more

I'm vegetarian so I ordered a bean burrito with guac inside and a side of Spanish rice. The food didn't taste bad, it was okay but... my burrito was a mess, not tightly rolled at all. I didn't even notice any televisions :) My boyfriend had the burrito plus chips and guacamole, I had the 5 tacos and a large side of rice. He was very happy with his burrito (he didn't share any), the guacamole was very fresh and tasty, My tacos were very juicy and filling and the rice was very tasty even after being reheated the next day. The owner visited every table while we were there making sure that every customer was satisfied. This is close to my work so I will definitely be back. read more

One of my favoplaces. I am not a hard core chicken fan but theirs is cooked and spiced just right, always finger lickin good. My family's fave plate are the crispy chicken tacos, they are to die for. Always perfectly made to order with the right amount of cotija cheese. The asada tacos and burros are also delicious.
