Easy breakdown: Ambiance:5 Service:2 Food:3 Ambiance is always nice, clean and welcoming. A classy style without to many decorations trying to make you think Mexico but just collect dust. The Strawberry mojito was perfectly refreshing. The pork tamales were very flavorful and the Mexican rice was cooked good but sadly lacked the authentic taste of real Mexican rice and the refried beans had zero flavor at all. The table side guacamole however is excellent and I loved picking exactly what I wanted in it. Their chips are always fresh and crisp and the salsa is top notch. The black beans sauce they serve with the chips is just okay the lats a lot in flavor. Adding a ton of salt to it makes it much better. The reason for 2 stars instead of 3 is for the poor service as a single person sitting at the bar. I was never given any utensils except what was in the table side guacamole placed in front of me. When I asked for a napkin, I was assuming he would then give me the utensils wrapped in a proper napkin for my upcoming meal but No. I was given a few cocktail napkins from the bar area. I had to get up myself and get the real thing from a unused table. I would recommend it if you are looking to get fast food type flavor and service but at a sit down meal and pay more than it's worth. So NO, can't say I would recommend it. Food was tasty. The tacos I got for $14.75 came with rice and beans. I opted for no beans but sucks I still only got one serving of rice or that the price wasn't less with no beans. I have gone here a long time, but my last time was a couple of weeks ago. I ordered my usual drink, top shelf skinny margarita, my friend a house margarita. When we got our bills, my drink was $19.00 and hers was $14!! They are mediocre if anything. I can go to a much better Mexican food restaurant, get better food and a way better margarita for around $10. I did this weekend!! I am actually quite surprised at the negative reviews. Yesterday we went for our first time after a round of golf and we thought the experience was fantastic. It was quiet for 8 pm on a Saturday but we think that's attributed to the ongoing 4th celebrations. The restaurant itself is well cared for, well decorated and felt like someone put a lot of thought into it. We were quickly greeted and ordered our drinks. Chips and salsa came out. Love the thin, crispy chips. We ordered the queso fundido with chorizo and guac. It's our go to whenever trying out any new restaurants. The queso comes out in a flaming hot bowl for the cheese to mix in front of you. We have had something similar at Glorias. This was delicious and we rolled.our own tortillas which allowed us to do what we wanted for filling. The guac was super creamy. We would totally order both again. For our dinner, he got the two brisket burritos with queso. Brisket tasted great and came in two mini burritos. No complaints. But believe me he wanted mine when he tasted it. I got the chicken fajita chimichanga with ranchero sauce. Normally, I'd do a queso but wanted to switch it up. The ranchero sauce was light and didn't over power the contents like queso can sometimes do. The chicken chunks were HUGE and completely filled the changa from head to toe. Flavors were great. Went to Christina's for the first time yesterday for Cinco De Mayo. The food was great - the only Mexican food we've liked in the Wylie / Murphy area. The blackberry mint margarita surprised me in a good way. Only complaint is the bar was really behind... could be because of Cinco De Mayo. We ended up having to cancel our second drink order because we finished our meal and the drinks were nowhere in sight. It also seemed like there wasn't a designated bartender or if there was - they kept leaving the bar. I just don't see how the bar would get that backed up with the amount of people that were in the restaurant.... Overall the food was good and quick and our server was good and kept us informed on the bar situation. I think Cristina's is always a safe bet for a good meal. Service at the Murphy location is particularly good. They're fun and professional at the same time - nice, fast and quick to bring plenty of salsa and chips (and refills of both). I ordered off the lunch menu and got the lighter lunch: Avocado soup and a single beef enchilada. It was really tasty, not too salty, not too cheesy. On the subject of cheese, I do think the cheese could be removed from the soup and it would be just as delicious as well as easier to eat. Would I go to Cristina's again? Of course. It's a staple, you know what you're going to get and they have a great assortment of meal choices. read more

The place was a pleasant spot for dinner. The service wasn't perfect, in the sense that it felt the servers sometimes forgot about us, but then again we went during the dinner rush so it is somewhat excusable. The food was very good, I got the chicken chimichanga which came with rice and beans and some pico on the platter. I was informed that the avocado soup was really good. In my opinion the dessert was excellent. I got the Mexican apple pie. Honestly, I would go back just for that. It was sweet with a touch of saltiness from the butter and the crust pieces were delicious and all of it was perfectly cooked. No randomly hard apple bits. The vanilla icecream also worked very well with it. Visited on a Friday night, parking lot was full so we expected a wait. Lucky enough there was none as a table opened up right as we walked in. Ordered a tamale plate and the wife had asada tacos. Chips and salsa arrived quickly as did our drinks. The salsa has no heat and wasn't very good. Which had us a bit worried as to the flavor of the remaining dishes. UPDATE: Went to get a "to go" order of 2 orders of fajitas on Mothers Day, there were only 4 tables with customers (first red flag). I tipped the bartender $5.00 to hand me my bag. Total Ticket was over $50! OMG. Got home, they did not send any tortillas for my 2 orders of $50 fajitas. Called the location and talked to the manager who arrogantly said "I am sorry". I replied not as sorry as my wife and me. He said I could come and get the tortilla's. I replied and let my food sit for 25 minutes and get cold. He just sat there silent. The competence of a manager and staff, who has 4 tables and a to go order to handle and Fails at it, is the appitomy76 of failure in my eye's. Enjoy my $50, it is the last you will get from me. I ended up here with my friend for the first time because our usual place was closed. I did look up the reviews before going in and I have to say I was a little nervous about it but my friend suggested it because her mom buys a really spicy salsa from one of their other locations so she already knew this place was good, so I trusted her and I don't regret it. Staff was friendly, food was delicious and came out fast and hot not to mention happy hour frozen margarita for $5.50!!! Our girl Andrea was amazing, she had the most friendly positive attitude and was constantly checking if we needed anything else. Sorry, guys...you've really let yourselves go!! The normal manager (who is phenomenal) was not there. The assistant manager was on duty, and he could care less about cleanliness, fresh food, and customer service. First, the place was a hot mess...dirty tables needing to be cleaned, sat there our entire visit. I'd like to say they were really busy or understaffed, but too many staff members found themselves talking to one another and or the manager. Unacceptable. Second, the chips were stale...6:30pm on a weeknight and your chips are already old? Sounds like someone was borrowing from the lunch chips to save money...we managed through...not sure why. Next, I ordered the fish tacos, and they were sent out wrong (I asked for no cilantro and they were covered in it). I noticed immediately they smelled like old fish...looked a little wonky-gray as well...I was not even going to try a redo after eating old chips and smelling old fish. So I sent it back and got the crispy ground beef tacos instead...I mean, how can you mess that up? With yesterday's, dried up beef, that's how. I couldn't even swallow the crusty pieces of blackened beef-rocks...I left them behind on the plate...gross. Finally, we tried to complain to the manager (our waiter was clearly not going to...we got charged for the higher priced fish tacos - not the crispy beef), but management was no where to be found. After waiting a little over 5 minutes, we bailed and vowed never to return. This place needs a complete overhaul - the assistant manager needs a swift kick in the rear, and the wait staff need to be cognizant about delivering fresh food, prepared as the customer requested, with actual SERVICE and a SMILE. For the price you pay here, this should not be an unreasonable standard. My son (16) and wife went there for chicken quesadilla (chicken was like rubber) and a large cheese quesadilla (instructed server to just do cheese) but got something that came back with tomatoes and some type of seasoning inside it... The Cristina's in Murphy is not worth your trip. Our party on Saturday consisted of 9 people, not overwhelming. The drinks were bad, in fact one of them, when you went to take a drink, the glass was so dirty it smelled! One person asked for a glass of water and was brought a glass of water with refried beans smeared on the inside of the glass. Our waiter (Jaime) would forget things quite often and have to be reminded. I will say that the food was good in my opinion. Not remarkable.
