I would say the margaritas were average as was my food. The seafood shrimp enchiladas (2) were essentially a tortilla wrapped around a cheese stick with a hint of sauce and only four shrimp. I have yet to have food that really wowed me here. The drinks are good but that's pretty much it. Some of the food I have gotten really tastes microwaved and for me, that's enough to make me not want to come back. I've had stale chips. Let me start with the restaurant was very nice, and clean. I love the patio area. I wish I could say the same about the service. The guy that greeted us at the host stand didn't have a clue. There were three people(all the same group) in front of us. He disappeared and came back a little while later. All the while people were backing up at the front door. While sitting at our table I noticed several wait people just standing around talking to each other. THEY NEED A MANAGER TO TAKE CHARGE. The food was pretty good. The queso was bland, but not aweful. $21.50 for Fajitas was expensive for what you got. I asked for a few more tortillas, and they brought me some(3) old ones that were reheated. Good vibe, food is "good" but nothing wow! But a great Mexican neighborhood restaurant. We typically get the steak fajitas and the margaritas. Margaritas are strong, fajitas are good. I went here for the first time last night. The space is open and airy. We were sat quickly. Menu looked so good. It was hard to order. I got the queso sand quesadillas. Delicious!! We were regulars at the Plano location for quite some time until they closed and moved along. We have come to the los Rios location twice now. My friend and I both ordered the carne asadas a couple of draft beers. After my friend drank her beer about halfway she found a fly in it. We really didn't have a waiter because every time we needed something we'd have to flag somebody down so there's three people that were kind of servicing us. The older guy (waiter) had no personality no friendliness no nothing. When we brought the problem with the beer to his attention, he took it away and when he brought back a new beer, it was in a very small glass I presume because she had drank some of it. It was not a full glass like we had ordered at first. Talk about insulting. I would gladly have paid for a brand new beer and really what does a little bit more of a draft beer cost....nothing. And worst part was we had to flight more bugs in our beers and food the rest of the evening. No one was friendly at the service level. Nobody thanked us for our business, and I brought this to the managers attention and all he would do is nod. No apology. Nobody asked us about how our dinner was or if we needed anything else. Very disappointing in the service and for that reason, I doubt we will be back because it's quite a bit farther drive and there's a lot of Mexican restaurants between our home and this place. read more

Packed on a Sunday, the salsa is not really for me a tad too much lime and not much heat/ peppers. I judge a Tex mex by their salsa/ bean dip. Tried the tortilla soup sin chicken and it was nice and cheesy, they give you a whole half of an avocado which won them the 4 stars here. Service is great . read more

Very busy. Great salsa. Very good house margs. Had brisket quesadilla. Very good. I love guiso and try it every where. Everyone has their own recipe for this "stew". Theirs is more of a soup with small pieces of pork and enough sodium allotment for an entire week. Not a fan. Tortillas were very good though. If it weren't for the guiso, I'd give a higher rating. Was very Mexican, the famous and award wining queso tasted delicious. Dipping a chip in their queso or salsa is delicious. I personally got 2 crispy tacos and rices and beans. They also tasted splendid. The Atmosphere looked really Mexican and authentic, the Christmas lights and the disco lights made it standout like the restaurant wasn't just a place to make money but your friend. I went to the Los Rios location this afternoon. It was my first time at this restaurant chain. The staff was very friendly. But the chips were the texture of cardboard, and the enchiladas were horrible. I ordered the Manuel's Enchiladas plate. I can honestly say that I've never had enchiladas that bad. It tasted as though they purchased some corn tortillas and shredded cheese from the nearby Kroger and threw them into a microwave. The only reason I didn't return my plate was because we were in a rush. Very disappointing. read more

It has a small family restaurant feel yet superior service. The salsa and chips is soooo addicting. The bar makes awesome drinks and they come out fast. Stopped in to check out the place! Heard they had some interesting margarita flavors, I am always on board with that!! We were greeted the minute we walked, sat at a booth, and waited on immediately, the chips and salsa arrived pretty quickly too. Husband ordered a michelada, I chose a spicy pineapple margarita. He said the michelada was a pretty good one, my margarita was fantastic. I did switch out Hornitos (not a fan) for El Jimador - happy to report my drink had some "kick" to it and it was all I had hoped for. And back to the salsa - spicy, fresh and fantastic. Our entrees were good. He had a chile relleno with beans and rice, I had the Adrian plate - jack cheese in a queso covered enchilada covered with beef fajitas and veg, also with beans and rice. Our food came out nice and hot, everything was delicious and the price was on point. Husband later had a paloma with mezcal, it was good too! Place was also clean and comfortable. Seriously what the hell. Paid $16 for garbage. I used to love this place. They gave me a huge bag of chips with a third a ramekin of salsa so I was not able to enjoy the chips. The Pollo relleno was half the size it used to be and was just a step above prison food. The garlic bread had no garlic and was completely soft and not toasted. Seriously I won't be back. This is our NEW spot! They have happy hour and the service is FAST! We beat the 6 o clock rush, they still managed to seat quickly. They have patio seating, complementary chips and salsa.
