There really is a Christina at Christina's! In this era of impersonal chain restaurants it's refreshing to find a place that's locally owned and run. This is a friendly traditional Italian restaurant. The menu is varied and the food is well prepared. The portions are ample without being huge. Service is friendly and efficient. They do take reservations over the phone, rather than through one of the online services. The ambiance is a little noisy, but that's just because people are talking and having a good time. They have background music but it's not loud. The prices are fair for what you get. Oh, and they have an ample parking lot! Went to Christina's again after realizing we hadn't been there in many years. My husband got Veal Parmesan which he loved and cleaned his plate. Very tender veal. Perfect coating and the sauce was delicious. I got the Chicken Piccata I loved so many years ago, but found it was very different now. There were two small pieces of chicken in a sauce that was very watery like chicken broth. A few capers on the chicken. If I had pasta with the piccata the watery sauce would not even have clung to the pasta. Can't really call it a sauce. No reduction of the wine. No butter in it at all. Very uninspiring. The first piece of chicken I ate had a really weird consistency. Chewy. The second smaller piece was OK. I ate them but just for the sake of not leaving them on the plate. Pretty disappointed on their presentation of Chicken Piccata. You can't make a piccata sauce without wine reduction and butter. Leave out the chicken broth if you're going ti use the whole can. I'll have to try something else next time as hubby really enjoyed his Veal Parmesan. Drinks were delicious. Got a side salad with Balsamic dressing...very good. Bread was incredible. Walked in greeted right away by a friendly face. Was seated was fairly busy for a Saturday prime time a couple large parties made it a bit loud all in good fun. Place is decent in size and looked clean Ordered the stuffed mushrooms were really good waitress was attentive and smiling brought me some crusty bread and oil so good I ate it all shhh my meal eggplant Parmesan with ziti and meat sauce. Was delicious although I only had 2 bites of the eggplant because I over did it with bread. Lol don't judge. I'll eat the eggplant for lunch tomorrow I asked for cheese. You know the grated kind we all like on our pasta dishes? Instead of a shaker or an actual grater I was given a small to go cup with a lid I thought was a bit odd. Terrible experience! Reserved a table a month in advance for a milestone birthday. Exchanged emails with the owner and also called the restaurant to confirm the reservation, noting we were celebrating a birthday and members of our party were GF. Was assured options were available and this is also noted on their webiste. Arrived on time for dinner and we were served by a teenager who was nice but looked like he'd rather be anywhere than working at his family's restaurant on a Friday night. The main GF option for dinner was sold out, which left chicken and salad. Another person in our party asked for an advertised special w/o meat and was told no problem. 45 minutes later, we received the worst dinner we've had in recent memory. Food was cold and bland, the baked ziti looked like microwaved tomato soup, and we were informed the restaurant also ran out of mashed potatoes! It was obvious nothing was freshly made and once certain things ran out, they weren't willing to make more. What kind of Italian restaurant runs out of risotto and mashed potatoes? When the server asked how everything was, we answered honestly and asked for the menu items for which we were charged but not provided to be removed from the bill. This prompted the owner to come over and instead of apologizing, she proceeded to dump her staffing and invetory woes on us. At this point, we were the only party left in the restaurant and couldnt wait to leave. The server tried persuading us to stay for dessert, which I'm sure they picked up from Walmart earlier in the day just for us! This place ruined our evening and left us hungry enough to stop at home to eat before heading out again to our next event for the evening. So we went in and were waiting around to be seated, at least three different people looked at us, no one aknowledged us. Finally after waiting a about three minutes, someone did comment someone will be with you. We waited another minute or so until we were seated. So we ordered the stuff mushrooms they were good, especially with the dipping oil sprinkle on top. So now comes dinner hubby ordered homemade gnocchi, best he says he has ever had. I ordered clam linguini. So my idea of clam linguini and what I got where two totally different things. What I recieves was what tasted like pasta from a box, with clams from a can, and no white wine sauce. Instead, it tasted like butter with clam juice and garlic. What I thought I was ordering was fresh linguini with 3-4 whole clams with maybe some fresh vegetables on it sprinkled with some fresh grated cheese So, needless to say, didn't get any dinner. Then after saying no I will not be bringing it home. It took quite awhile to get a check. And the place wasn't really busy both when we got there and when we where ready to leave. read more

The owner Cristina is wonderfully accommodating to large crowds as she worked out a prefix menu for a group of 20 hockey parents during a recent tournament. As the parent wanting to organize a great meal and experience for parents to get to know one another better, this place was warm and cozy! On top of it all, the food was terrific and each parent raved about the delicious options they ate. Went in for dinner and was seated immediately. I was surprised and the hostess told us we came in at a good time. Once seated we waited 15 minutes before our waitress came over to take our order. We received bread, oil, drinks and water right away. Our salads came out shortly after. We waited 40 minutes after getting our salads to receive our food. We were looking for our server to ask why it was taking so long when she appeared with our food. The food was delicious. It was worth waiting for. The hours are very lImited which is a drawback. After eating dinner last night at Great Wolf Lodge which wasn't very pleasant, I looked all over for a place with some good ol' Italian comfort food in close proximity to the resort. I stumbled on to Christina's, the menu has everything you want, the service is great, everyone is super friendly. The portion sizes are great, the desserts were amazing and the coffee at the end was perfect. I recommend anyone in the area to come check this place out for some excellent food. This has been a family favorite for years - my father's absolute favorite for special gatherings. My surprise 21st birthday was here, as well as my cousin's bridal shower! Incredible food; Italian favorites done right. I'm a picky red sauce eater, and this is my favorite. The stuffed mushrooms are terrific; the shrimp Milanese is to die for. And! I hadn't been here in a while but was always on my radar. Went last night and after last night, I will come here more often. The drinks were perfectly poured. The fried zucchini app came out hot and crispy and absolutely delicious. Two sauces (marinara and horseradish) were perfect accompaniments. The prime rib special came with some of the best fries I've had in the area and the prime rib was finished off on the grill and topped with an herb butter The haddock milanese was perfectly fried and a fresh tasty piece of fish. Would not recommend this place to anyone. The service was very slow, took 20 minutes to get our drink order in. Food was horrible, my son ordered spaghetti and clams. The clams were the diced type from a can! It took almost an hour to get the meal served. The air conditioning was either broken or they were too cheap to turn it on. We decided to try Christina's on our way to another restaurant tonight. We enjoyed the bread with oil and the salad. My husband got the creamy chicken soup which looked like a pot pie filling and didn't have much flavor. For a meal, I had the Chicken Parmesan with homemade pasta. The Chicken was good,but it had not been pounded thin so it was too thick for my liking. My husband and I both agreed that the red sauce was too thin and not very flavorful although he enjoyed his Veal Parmesan. We both agreed that we would dine there again and try other menu items. I have been coming to Cristina's Restaurant for many years. Every time that I go I get the same meal, Veal Milanese that is not on the menu but the chef prepares for me anyway. It is delicious every time and even better than the Veal Milanese that I had in Milan! I always sample my friends meals and they are consistently excellent. Cristina has assembled a lovely local restaurant with a warm and inviting atmosphere and a great chef and friendly staff that always makes us feel welcome. Food is good and in good amount. Sometimes they take long to attend at the door, but waiters are polite. The bread with the olive oil and cheese before the meal, is really good. My only complaint is that they gave us only half the food when we went to pick it up. We had to go back more than 10 miles through traffic to pick up the rest. I was terribly dissapointed with my visit to Cristina's. After reading all the great reviews, I had to give it a shot. The menu wasn't bad but the service was less than okay and the quality of food was dissapointing. Sometimes I chalk up my disappointments to my rather unique palate, but my palate cannot be blamed for warm shrimp cocktail. It was obviously thawed under warm water or in a microwave. At least put the little creatures on some ice! The waitress brought salads on HOT plates- cold salad on plates straight out of the dishwasher. When she threw my plate at the table, my fork fell off and slid across the table. She responded with "oops" and walked away. Dinner was salmon with some sort of sauce. Salmon was obviously farm raised and the veggies in the sauce were definitely canned variety . The food was very low quality and preparation was questionable. Combined with the fact that the restaurant is decorated like an old lady's house, I just wanted to pay my bill and get the hell out. Not for me and I won't be back. read more

I'm going to preface this review by stating that I come from an Italian family so am obviously very picky when it comes to Italian restaurants. With that being said, I would prefer going to an Olive Garden over this place any day of the week. We had a party of 14 and called and made a reservation about a week in advance. They set up a long table for us right in the main dining room with one side of the table along a wall. Normally I wouldn't have a problem with that except that the table was close to the wall that if one person had to get up (or if you wanted to talk to someone at the other end of the table) everyone along the wall had to get up so they could get out. It was like a bad game of musical chairs and took some of the relaxation out of the dinner for those who constantly had to stand up, sit down, stand up, sit down........ And we couldn't move the table out any further because the other side was a main aisle. As mentioned, we made a reservation - they knew how many of us were going to be there. Our waitress was beyond flustered. Everything took forever: getting water, getting drinks, she would forget drinks, she wasn't aware when we needed refills. And our meals took FOREVER. Yes, we were a decent sized party but the restaurant wasn't that busy. The biggest disappointment was when the meals came out, the food was just blah. There just wasn't much for taste, everything was bland, the tomato sauce was worst than canned and the portions were on the skimpy side. This was my first dining experience here and will definitely be my last. read more

I called the day of to make reservations for seven on a Thursday night. No problems, even when we showed up 15 minutes late. A fantastic welcome from a great staff. The decor was pretty basic (maybe some murals on the wall would help) and the service was really very attentive with numerous refills on drinks, no problems with separate bills and lots of bread refills without any raised eyebrows. On to the food: top notch! Absolutely fantastic! Free starter of fresh bread with an olive oil/spice mixture and they even gave the recipe when asked! Salads were excellent with salad dressing on the side (honey vinaigrette was yummy). I didn't try the soups, but others said they were good. On to the main courses. I had trouble choosing from the tempting selection, but the linguine with mussels was shockingly good. Spicy! But I had been warned by the server when I placed my order and I wasn't disappointed. I'm from the Midwest so it's not hard to get spice for me and it was enough to be exciting but not overwhelming. I had a bite of the lobster ravioli and while I don't usually like ravioli of any kind, this was fantastic! No room for desert and big enough portions to make a full second meal. Price was very reasonable with everyone averaging about $20-$25 with 20% tip, taxes and drinks included. We had our rehearsal dinner here back in October. I didn't get a full sense of the restaurant's layout or atmosphere because we had a private room upstairs, which was nice. If you're very concerned about atmosphere, decor, and all that, it might turn you off because it has a very 1980s-banquet hall vibe, which is sad because that might turn people off of their yummy food. My mother-in-law really coordinated this for us, so I didn't get much experience with their staff. They let us select a handful of appetizers and then I think around 10 entrees and 2 desserts for a custom menu.
