It's hard leaving this review, but I hope the feedback is received and adjustments are made if they want to expand their customer base beyond their loyal regulars. First, I'm a customer who might stumble in but might not return like me. The food was okay. It was not necessarily cooked to my request. The food wasn't particularly seasoned, but seasoning was provided at the table, so it's not a major issue. The sausage links didn't feel fresh and didn't have that crisp casing you'd expect on a freshly cooked sausage link. The bacon was nicely salted and crispy. They had all the condiments. I liked the self-serve drinks with free refills. My main issue was the service from the moment I was greeted -- or rather, not welcomed. I was handed a menu and told I needed to order at the register. I asked if I could sit down first and repeat that I wanted to sit down. I asked again if I could sit first, and with a very reluctant look, I was given the menu. I then sat down without any questions, no inquiries about whether it was my first time, no explanation of how things work here. Nothing. The nice gentleman who pointed me to my table and brought my food was the only one who checked on me. Besides that, no one asked if I needed anything. I was finished eating about five minutes when I realized no one was coming to check on me. I got up, went to the self-service counter, and asked if I could get a to-go box or if it would be given to me. I was told by the staff that all I had to do was ask. Not good vibes at all -- it really gave me the sense that it was a family-owned business. If this is a family-owned business, I would strongly suggest that they hold a family meeting to discuss what needs to be done to keep the business within the family or hire outside the family and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere when customers walk through the door. I'm leaving thinking... is this why the place is called Grump? That shouldn't be the thought on a customer's mind.

We have lived down the road for just about a year and are so upset it took us this long to check out Grumps! 1. Great breakfast spot name. 2. Host and employees are very kind and welcoming. 3. Delicious spot for breakfast treat! We had a great experience!

First of all very friendly service. I appreciate them answering the phone and taking my to go order. Their bacon egg white cheese on toast and or english muffin is too good. Today i had a burger for the first time. It was cooked perfectly. Also got sweet potato fries on the side. Great size, tasty and soft. Its located at the entrance of the shopping center. Plenty of parking. There is also outside seating

Avocado lettuce tomato (ALT) And steak salad. The alt was fresh, tasty and filling. The side of coleslaw was fresh and crunchy The steak salad could include more fixings, but the steak was tasty It was busy like it often is

I finished a workout class nearby and was famished so I decided to try a new café. I am happy that I found grumps Café. The food is fresh, the servers are nice, and the beignets are absolutely delicious. The blueberry pancakes and the cinnamon butter Were also a nice touch. The potatoes are hands-down, one of my favorites. It can get quite busy, so definitely come when you can

Loved the simplicity of this breakfast spot! Great service and outdoor dining. We needed to start to work week off right and decided to try Grumps for the first time. Beautiful day and great food! We will be back!

Cute concept of a classic diner! This is a chill place where there's no need to get dressed up because the staff where's pajamas to serve breakfast! They serve all day breakfast: which makes them a favorite for dbabe! And the food comes out hot and quick! Always seasoned to perfection and I really enjoy the chicken and the eggs- which came first ?! Lol and Babe switches up what he gets but this time he got a meat omelette! You can create your own drink: fountain drinks and coffee... Babe always makes our coffee- I'll say surprise me because they have a few to choose from- and I like surprises (only the good kind) and then we feast! It really gives an at home feeling because the coffee is made in the real mug. I definitely recommend checking them out if you're in the crofton area !

Updating this to FIVE stars! Went back and had their beignets and let me tell you, they are delicious. Cafe Du Monde in NOLA may have a sweet competitor. The southern Benedict is awesome. Fried green tomatoes instead of the English muffin. Perfect!

My waffles were perfectly crisp while also sweet, the portion was perfect for someone who doesn't love a huge breakfast. Grumpys is a casual breakfast spot - stopped by with a few friends while on a road trip! we got our food fairly fast and still warm (the best part).

Stopped here in search of mid-morning breakfast. They have a pretty big menu, but I decided to keep it simple and go with chocolate chip pancakes , which comes with sausage or bacon. The pancakes come with cinnamon butter, but I requested regular butter, which another Yelper recommended, and the staff was happy to make the change. The dine-in area was pretty busy for Monday morning ,and I also saw cars picking up curbside orders. Customer service was good, and the staff wear pajamas, which I think adds to the charm of the place. Pancakes were big and filling, no complaints !

We had a free morning so decided to give this place another try. Our first experience was takeout, and this time we dined in. Very basic, cute little diner; table numbers/markers are plastic toy animals, graffiti floor, small toys line the counters and staff uniform is pajamas. Upon entering, you are handed menu, assigned a table and directed to the register to place your order and pay. Self serve beverages (if you purchased) and take your seat. Food is delivered by a staffer. Food. Average. We had - -Sunshine breakfast- 2 eggs, turkey sausage, potatoes, toast. Asked to add onions and peppers "while cooking," potatoes, however they were added after. The potatoes were chunks/cubes and lacked flavor. --Veggie omelet and we added hash inside. We order this at other venues, but this presentation was different. Veggies were not sautéed before adding to the egg and looked more like the egg was lightly scrambled instead of an omelet fold. The flavor missed the mark as well. --waffle. This was good. Not great, good. Food was not piping hot when arrived which is puzzling since the kitchen is not 30 ft away. Turkey sausage, bacon, coffee were great! Overall, the breakfast food is average. We will try the lunch menu on a future visit and update the post. Enjoy!

No frills and quirky restaurant where the staff wears pajamas. Came here for breakfast and it was delicious. Coffee options were plenty and delicious as well. Highly recommend the shrimps and grits, and French toast.

    Philly omelette w/ home fries
    Don B.

It's been quite a while since I've visited this establishment, but I can say that it's still as good as I remember. My order was take out, I ordered the Philly omelette with home fries. The omelette was decent, not great, but the home fries were very flavorful. I got pancake breakfast for the kids, which came with a Mickey Mouse pancake, sausage, and cheese eggs. They seemed to enjoy it when they ate. The staff wears grump cafe t shirt with pajama pants (don't really understand or care for this concept, but whatever. lol.). There's plenty of seating so you can bring a few friends along if you plan on dining in. The wait wasn't long at all, I Sat in my car to wait on my order because I thought it would be a while and after about 10-15 minutes the host was bringing my order out to me. I enjoyed my food and hopefully I will be back sooner than later.

Unfamiliar with the area, I jumped on yelp and found The Farmhouse with its 4.4 star rating. So there we went. The Waugh Chapel area is a giant shopping center. Wegmans, Old Navy, Verizon, etc. The Farmhouse is in a new building near the man road. Their whole thing is farm to fork, with some herbs and greens grown on site and others sourced locally. The service is great! Fast and friendly. Instead of bread or rolls, they warm you up with some country style homemade cornbread. Freshly baked, cast iron skillet, with butter and syrup. Yum! We had the meatloaf and the chicken and chicken and biscuits. The meatloaf was tasty, with homemade mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked fresh green beans. The chicken and biscuits is kind of like a chicken pot pie without the crust. The biscuits are on top so you can decide how much bread you want. The vegetables are nice and fresh, and the chicken is perfect white meat. A++ on both entrees. For dessert we had half-baked, which is an ooey gooey cookie and a brownie in a cast iron skillet topped with ice cream. We liked it, but next time I'll probably have just ice cream because the ice cream was absolutely perfect. Where are you? Stevensville? Baltimore? Solomon's? Alexandria? DC? You should make the drive to Waugh Chapel Station and get some fresh, delicious, better- than-home-cooked food.

We usually pull up deep with our car family, and they handle our large group with so much patience and positive energy. It never feels like a hassle to them, which says a lot. Frisco has really opened its doors to our car community by hosting a Cars & Coffee series, and that kind of support doesn't go unnoticed. I got a steak, quesadilla, etc., and nothing is great. One time I was considering getting a burger, and I found out that they had pork in their burgers, which is wrong; I don't eat pork. The only thing that was great was their pretzel, which I had a couple of bites of someone else's on that Saturday trivia semifinals, in which I had plans for my birthday late lunch birthday deal over in Annapolis. I needed to get there by lunch time as the price is a lot more expensive at dinner, which starts at 3 there. Drinks are good here at Frisco. The two pianist did no dueling at all; they did mostly duets or took turns taking requests. I was hoping to witness a musical battle. In addition the food was horrid. I ordered the stuffed shrimp with the mushroom risotto but twice my shrimp were undercooked literally gray lines still on the shrimp. When I asked for melted butter for my broccolini I was given cubes of cold butter. I then ordered the short rib having given up on the shrimp and the short ribs slow cooked would surely be done and savory however the carrots could not be cut with a knife at all. I returned the dish and decided to give up. My partner ordered the fish and chips but the fish and chips had a charred old taste as the grease was old and therefore the food had a Smokey taste. I looked at my surroundings and everyone pretty much ordered sandwiches and fries of which they left ample amounts of food untouched. As for the drinks the holiday margarita was mostly ice, very thin small glass and there was no edible glitter in it as promised per the menu. No beers on draft. U had spoke highly of this place after my experience with Chef Ahmad but since I regret I can no longer speak highly. Last but not least the grinch and Santa were the personality for the evening and carried the energy. The waiter due to me not having any food did not comp, send over a manager or right the wrong. I will not return nor recommend. Either do events well or food well; this event was a miss on both. We left early as the event was mediocre at best but also I was hungry and in need of food.
