So over priced and you ALWAYS need to check the dates on products. Spent $6 on a small kombucha for it to have expired in November 2024. Thank god I noticed it looked weird and checked the date before drinking. It's happened more times than I can remember that there has been expired food on the shelves. I've also found produce that has mold contaminating whatever fruits and veg that they are next to. It's ridiculous to have such expansive items that are already expired on the shelves. I've gotten sick from the hot plate food and everything is soaked in grease. Also rude workers. read more

I bought 2 pounds of "fresh" swordfish a couple of days ago along with some turkey sausage, by the time we got home the entire car smelled of rotting meat, upon further inspection (sniff test) both selections, worth over $70, were inedible. Charge an arm and a leg for groceries, ok, but not for rotten food. Plenty of other places around for high quality food/groceries. We'll never shop at Schiavoni's again. read more

A great food resource in the middle of fancy pants Sag Harbor. When you're looking to get some eats but not break the bank at the local restaurants, it's a great way to go. Their deli section at the back is my favorite. Homemade soups, grilled veggies, awesomely good Greek salad, any kind of sandwich you'd want - it's all here. The prices for the grocery are higher than at a normal supermarket, as expected, and the fresh produce isn't necessarily always the freshest. So just choose carefully. They have a surprising breadth of asian condiments, like Thai roasted chili paste, something you don't usually find in a mainstream grocery. Basically I can get all I need to whip up some pretty authentic Far Eastern dishes. As in, don't look for galangal or lemongrass but you can make do. As a matter of fact, that's exactly what I'm going to do, once I finish the quart of minestrone I picked up yesterday! read more

Wow what a selection and great fast service. It's super packed. You can get about what ever you are craving. I really like the deli sandwiches, the potato salad was just ok and my avocado side was not ripe but I also loved the egg salad. They have great deserts and I had the chocolate flourless cake and it melted in my mouth. Croissants were average. Fruit selection good. My friend like the fresh prosciutto and fried chicken. I just stopped in for a grab and go sandwich, got all the way home only to find they had given me the wrong one. Whoops. Mistakes happen, I get it. I called to speak with a manger to get a $10 refund and was told I'd have to come in person to get a refund. When I let the woman know they'd made the mistake and it was not on me to travel back to their store (40 mins away!), she said, "Well is not my fault this happen, you can call back tomorrow". Nice to be able to grab groceries in town and not have to go to King Kong, but prepared foods are somewhere between Applebee's and prison.

This is a lovely store with a nice selection of products for the limited space it has. The prepared foods are consistently above average , although the soups are average at best and some seem out of a can. This is the only food store that makes you long for Citarella prices. The mark up is insane on most items. Can a non trust fund or hedge fund head of household food shop here? I can't imagine a teacher or a town worker could afford to fill a cart here. I understand the surcharge to the Memorial to Labor Day crowd. Has to be done. They offer daily discounts during the winter , but even with these price cuts it is still pretty high. I guess " if it ain't broke don't fix it "motto will apply here for another 100 years. The staff works really hard and are always very pleasant. Right in the center of town, it's a small pretty well stocked mini super market. I was able to get a ripe for that day Haas avocado, a perfect, decently sized mango and some teas for a not horribly inflated price. The service was fast,efficient, and friendly, as friendly as one can get in the checkout line. If I need something quick and can't make it to King Kullen I can walk to town and get my staples and then some right here. read more

There are few family operated markets left in the Hamptons, this market providing delicious freshly prepared foods, incredible meats and seafood, all the grocery you require,farm fresh produce not to mention Sushi and Flowers is a great stop in Sag Harbor. With a front and rear entrance it's an easy in and out I personally love the back lot. No waiting in long lines like the city slicker Gourmet markets who are smothering the Hamptons. Not to mention at Schiavoni's that say hello and thank you. I absolutely love this store! The managers and employees are always so friendly. They have made tremendous efforts this past year to ensure that all customers are treaty with kindness and are given a helping hand. It is very obviously a family owned business by the way they care for everyone who walks through their door. The owner Mike is as sweet as can be and always goes above and beyond for the customers. One of the other managers at the store, Josiah is incredibly helpful to all the customers and does an amazing job with the day to day operations of the store. read more

Schiavoni's has been in the town of Sag Harbor for years and has actually improved over the years greatly. The quality and selection for a small grocery is very good. If you live in or near Sag Harbor, you can get most everything here instead of making the trek to King Kullen. The produce is very fresh and their deli and meat section is underestimated. The best thing about Schiavoni's is that you can complete your shopping in 20 minutes instead of getting lost in the maze of King Kullen, stopping to choose between 14,000 cereals. The checkout lines move fast and the clerks are efficient, if not effervescent. If you choose to use a cart, be careful, the roads are dangerous in there because of the size of the aisles. read more

I advise everyone to read this before considering going to Schiavoni's market (specifically the meat section): My family is out here for the weekend and stopped in to grab meat. There was only one young man on duty (who's name we later learned is Dale) and he was washing dishes ignoring the line that was forming, with customers wondering how/ when to order. We wondered if there might be a number system that we needed to use, so my mom asked Dale (who's back was turned to everyone) if there is a number system. Dale immediately turned around and aggressively said "DOES IT LOOK LIKE THERE IS A NUMBER SYSTEM HERE?" which quickly caught the attention of (and alarmed) many customers walking by. My dad calmly/ politely explained to him that we didn't know how to order and no one was there to help us except for him and that his back was turned to us. Dale continued to loudly and obnoxiously rant that we should have known there wasn't a number system and that we should have yelled to get his attention, and before long there was a crowd of people watching Dale yell and curse at my whole family for simply asking a question about how the order system works. To make it worse, as my dad and the rest of my family were defending themselves and explaining all that we were trying to do, Dale shouted "Jesus Christ" at us. My mom (who is very religious) was extremely offended and asked him not to shout that at us. He then says back to her face "JESUS CHRIST". He walked away from us, so I asked him where the manager was that I could speak to. He said there was no manager on duty (which was a lie). So I asked him what his name was so that I could use his name when I can get a hold of the manager and he said "what are you gonna f****ing ID me?". We finally figured out who the owner was, and saw that he had been there the whole time watching the scene happen and didn't do a thing. There was one very nice woman that helped us and apologized, but we are extremely disgusted with the way we were treated by the other employees and hope, for the sake of the town of Sag Harbor, that the treatment of the Schiavoni's Market customers improves drastically. read more

When I come here for my meats my family raves at dinner about how the quality of the food is so fresh (my husband said the burgers tasted like they just killed the cow lol) In my opinion this is the go to market. read more

Well over priced for what, moldy vegetables? There must be very little turn over in that store. Every summer the prices get higher, that I use to understand because of the summer people but when they went home the prices went back down for the locals. No more. The store is not clean, some people speak English, I'm sorry to say I should know more Spanish but I don't. One thing I do understand is I am not the Deli Man's Mommy. The man calls me Mommy? Really. Also beware of the bagging 7 times out of 10 your tomatoes or bread will be under a can. Sorry- feel like they should do better by we the old time year round shoppers. Should not leave out soft molding vegetables. Watch the meat as well, they put the older brown meat on the inside of fresh pink chop meat to hide it. I read a review about the great sandwiches funny they put one piece of cheese on your sandwich plus the meat is placed in the middle so when cut it looks like more. THIS I KNOW.
