I don't write tons of reviews but I really, really don't appreciate having anything in my home damaged or having someone yell at me for no reason. The reviews there suggest that they might not be the best people to refer but I had no idea who was coming, just a "couple guys" who could do the job since he was not able to fit it into his schedule. I was in the middle of writing the reviews and Terrence did call to apologize and I really don't feel like getting an impassioned response here on Yelp, hence the 3 stars. It looks like from reading the reviews that you should insist on Terrence himself (or one of the other people mentioned as being great) or find other people yourself so that you and they can be directly accountable to each other. (The other company blamed me for things that had nothing to do with me.)

From the packing of my apartment to the delivery of the boxes to the new spot - there was nothing organized or efficient about this move. I understand that we are all trying to make it in this world, but this was an experience I do not want anyone else to have. Communication with the team was ineffective, and my specific packing needs were ignored. I felt like I was taken advantage of, and the company's response to my concerns was dismissive. When I voiced my frustrations several times, they offered a paltry $210 refund (the move ended up costing over $1,300 when I was quoted half of that) and $200 credit for a FUTURE move, which does nothing to compensate for the terrible experience I endured. Then, when I said that I would still be writing a review, they said "it would complicate the process, and we would cancel the check." Shady much? Additionally, I checked their online reviews and was shocked to see a pattern of recent negative feedback, including clearly copied and pasted reviews on other platforms. Only one of the four movers was consistently working the whole time and they had him sitting in the van for half the move trying to avoid a ticket (why they didn't have the way-too-old mover doing this instead is beyond me). Rushed to get boxes into the correct rooms because one of the movers had a second job (non-moving related) to get to and the foreman wanted to get back to his wife. I was offered a paltry partial refund for the experience and billed for all of the extra time. The arrangements were flawless - everything was exactly as we had arranged. They texted me an update on their arrival and were barely even delayed. Jeff and Jeremy were nice and professional and the van is unique and cool. The moving itself was as efficient as I have ever seen. In my case they were racing against the end of the day (when my building's super was going to close the elevator), so they piled stuff on the top of the truck to make sure they could make it in one trip. They could have easily drawn out the process (and extending the time might have made them more money) but instead they finished earlier than expected. Here is what happened: - They arrived three hours late, smelling like cannabis, with red eyes. It was obvious they were completely stoned. Later, when they packed the truck and were about to drive off to the new location, I came up to the truck's cabin to ask a question, and saw the driver and another mover sitting in the truck's cabin, smoking a joint (judging by the smell and the type of smoke). Not only is it unprofessional, it's extremely dangerous, especially driving a huge moving truck (a misdemeanor). All signs were pointing to the fact that this was not a freak occurrence, but their usual way of working. When I reached out to them, Vance (their boss) did not comment, whereas the driver said that he doesn't smoke cannabis, but he can't speak for his colleagues. Sadly, for the sake of road safety, I had to file a NYPD report. - It was a rainy day, and their truck was leaking a LOT. About two thirds of all boxes got wet (pictures attached). Some of them were soaked to the point of falling apart as you were carrying them. Many books of ours, as well as original artworks, paintings, our son's drawings and handwritten poems - all got badly damaged. In addition, a desk got pierced by some sharp object (pictures attached), and a pair of Sony headphones broke in half. When I reached out to Vance, their boss, he replied "Hi. Reach out to the foreman. They are responsible for the damages so they will have to take care of it. That's how we go about these situations." So I reached out to the foreman, and he replied that, because I was helping them with the boxes, I am as responsible as they are for the damages, so they won't reimburse anything. I asked if I'm responsible for their truck leaking water (most of the damage was water damage), but my question went without a reply. - Throughout the move, they were extremely slow. In total, it took them about 12 hours to move our 600-square-feet 2BR apartment. They finished around midnight. Four years ago, when we hired Advanced Moving Pros, it took them less than 6 hours. - We had three plants that were supposed to be moved to the new place. Once they packed the truck, one of the movers told me that "they can't take the plants because there's no more room". I later noticed they took one of our large drawers on the truck which was supposed to be thrown away (garbage) - but one of the movers said "Oh, I'm keeping it, that's for me." Had he not kept our drawer, there would have been room for at least two of our plants. So yeah, I would recommend you stay away from these guys. Highly unprofessional, and frankly, dangerous and illegal behavior. They damage your property, and instead of apologizing, they blame it on you (!)

When I offered disposable masks and gloves they declined and said they had their own. Two of them ended up wearing bandanas and one person put gardening gloves on. By the time they got the furniture to the new place I had a cracked bookshelf, scratched furniture, a broken lamp (they ripped off the light bulb with the socket, instead of untwisting the lamp), missing screws and a broken front door to the old place (they removed the door to move bigger furniture, when reinstalled the door would not close). They were supposed to refund a portion of the moving costs to fix/replace the damaged furniture and repair the broken door. After a week dodging my calls and messages, they finally responded after I posted a negative review to their thumbtack. Jose, the team lead had the nerve to tell me he did not appreciate the negative review, when he was the one ignoring my communications. Two months after the move, they refunded 2/3 of what they owed back. It has been another 3 months since and they are still not refunding the last 1/3. Vance, the owner is still not responding to my communications, much less Jose, the team lead who was present the day of the move. If you want to spare yourself the trouble of dealing with such unprofessional and dishonest people, find another moving company. DO NOT WASTE YOU TIME OR MONEY WITH THESE FOLKS.
