Go2Moving made my move so much less stressful than it could have been. Paul was very upfront about the price (which was very reasonable). There were no hidden fees. The team that performed the move was great. They were very professional and polite. They arrived on time, packed the truck quickly and, since I was moving 4 hours away they delivered it all bright and early the next day. All I had to do was tell them what room to put the stuff in and it was all stacked neatly when they left. I even received great advice on how to arrange things. I used this company once 2 years ago and it was a positive experience. I rehired them again 2/26/2021 and unfortunately had a nightmare of an experience. The workers came in and instantly started fighting with me about how items were packed, even though I packed everything THE SAME way from the move 2 years prior. I told them if they didn't want to complete the job, they could leave and I would hire someone else. I really wish they had left and i had hired someone else, this move was a complete nightmare from beginning to end. The movers not only fought with me the whole time, they claimed they could not move my couch. They said and I quote " I can remove your spring loaded door, but will not put it back on the hinges". I couldn't let them do that because to repair that kind of door would have been over $700!! My husband who is a not a large man and myself who was 7 month pregnant at the time, moved the couch OURSELVES. The door never came off the hinges. They also damaged my shelving, bed, snapped my clothing rack and threw the broken rack on the floor or our new apt., shoved items back into closets to purposely not move. Also see in pictures below how they pack your TVs. They put in the quote "special tv boxes", but no, they threw them in HUGE U-Haul boxes with no padding. One of my TV's did not work after I unpacked it and set it up. They also claimed overtime when they were observed not working for a total of 1.5 hours. I even asked them if they would take lunch and they said no, they just wanted to get home. But instead took time off while being on the clock and added the extra time onto my bill. I disputed $906 of the total $1906 (original quote was $1470, DO NOT believe their quotes, they always come in low and add an extra $500-$600) and am still in review of this dispute. Eugene is refusing to even respond to my e-mails to work out the issues, so I have to go through the bank and Visa. I sent Eugene pictures of the damages and video of how we moved the couch ourselves. We had to carry this couch down 3 flights of stairs and then put it on a dolly and walk it 4 city blocks and 1 Ave. over. Thankfully we did not move far or else we would have had to pay someone else to do the work they refused to do. We also had to make 3 trips to move the other items they shoved into closets to not move. I am so disappointed and wished I had went with another company who was more expensive, because in the end I am having to pay the same amount and do double the work this company did not do. When they got to the destination of delivery, they left my sons bed and our keyboard by the dumpster. They did not wrap 3 of my beds with plastic and dragged it all over the place. This was hands down the BEST moving experience I have ever had. I needed to bring some additional furniture out from the east coast to the midwest, where I relocated a while back. After searching for cross country movers -- Paul and his team were one of the first companies that came up, coincidentally located in Staten Island, where my items were coming from. But, my rave review has little to do with that geographic fact. Paul was incredibly responsive -- working with me to figure out the most appropriate sized truck, keeping both my budget and needs in mind at all times. He communicated clearly and consistently -- never dropping out of touch and rolling with all my adjustments and questions. He was super organized -- sending an excel sheet that allowed us both to review and keep track of our planning. He and all of his colleagues were so kind -- I've honestly never dealt with movers who were so, well, just plain nice. Also, Paul was very proactive in assessing and re-assessing my list of items, trying to get me the best deal, and being flexible both with how they planned the move, and wanting to make sure I was not surprised by the numbers. His team - those that moved the furniture - were also Top-Notch! They were quick, efficient, and careful at the origin destination, even moving some other furniture into place to take the spot of what had been moved. I hired go to moving last minute after another company cancelled on me 2 days before the move. Their rates were somewhat higher but from the beginning I had a much better feeling about the whole process. They sent me a contract to review, put a deposit on my credit card and confirmed the move the day before. You can imagine I was very relieved when they showed up about 10 minutes early and got right to work. I think the workers noticed I was a little stressed as a result of the uneasy experience with the other company... and they were extremely pleasant to be around. We chatted about the job, neighborhoods in my area, all while my stuff was being wrapped and taken out of the apartment, no problem. These guys are unbelievable! I hadn't moved in 23 years and was absolutely terrified. My girlfriend and I were moving in together and both of us were coming from different apartments as well as having stuff at a parent's house. In just a 4 hour window the Go To Moving and Storage guys picked up furniture and boxes from New Jersey drove in to Chelsea in Manhattan, picked up a whole apartment's worth of furniture and boxes and made yet another stop and picked up more furniture and boxes at my girlfriend's apartment before reaching the final destination. This is a move where so many things could have gone wrong, but didn't! It couldn't have gone more perfectly! Phil, Rob and Chris we're such pros! It was like a well oiled machine the three of them together plus they were very nice and fun to be around. I found Go To Moving and Storage by posting up a bid for movers on CityMove.com. They went by the name "VanTruckMove" but I found out the company is in the process of switching their name over to Go To Moving and Storage. While the moving bid wasn't the lowest offer, the company had gotten the best reviews and it was a reasonable offer so I decided to choose them. After accepting the bid I called on the phone with questions and they were very friendly and helpful. On move in day they arrived a few minutes early but were ready to start whenever we were ready. My boyfriend and I were so impressed with the way they wrapped the furniture and carefully carried each item. My boyfriend wanted the mattress taken down the from the lofted area in the apartment a certain way, and they were happy to follow his direction. All of the movers were so helpful and friendly the whole time. When met the movers at the new apartment, they asked what room we wanted each item they brought in. They didn't rush the process at all, but it still went by really quickly. One of the things I like most about the moving service is that they bring 3 movers - 2 to go back and forth to the apartment, and 1 to load items into the truck, take inventory, and ensure the truck doesn't get a parking ticket!! There were no surprises when it came to the final price. The only additional thing they charged us for were mattress covers which they told me several days in advance about. We also had quite a few extra items which I forgot to include in the inventory of our things and they didn't charge us any extra!! Another thing I would mention is there is a 5% surcharge for paying via credit card and a 5% discount for paying in cash. We paid by check so the final price stayed the same. My boyfriend thought every moving company was there to rip you off until we worked with Go To Moving and Storage. These guys were incredible. We moved from our fully furnished 3 bedroom to another one 4 hours away. They came in the morning, moved us out/disassembled large pieces of furniture, drove 4 hours, moved everything up a tight stairwell, and unpacked/reassembled everything. All in one day! They were consummate professionals and everything arrived in one piece. When there was a scratch on one piece, they seemed genuinely perturbed and fixed it up the best they could. And when they couldn't get a large couch through a tight space, they worked for nearly an hour to get it through so we wouldn't have to take the couch apart. The movers are great at what they do and want to be flawless at it. That's really refreshing. Will use these guys again and recommend to everyone. We had a very positive experience with Go To Moving. We got a quote through a moving bid website and spoke with Eugene to confirm details. We went with the flat rate quote, but they were very clear and upfront about any additional fees we might incur (which wasn't too much). We had them do some packing, and they didn't overuse packing materials even though they were charging for them. I got a little stressed about halfway through because we had a time constraint with the elevator at our new building; however, Lee and his crew, as well as Eugene, were responsive to my concerns and made sure the job was done in time. 4/15/2018: This five star company charged our credit card $200 more than we verbally agreed upon. We disputed via our credit card company. Our bank found in our favor, and issued us a new credit card as a security concern. This company had a perfect well-planned response to everything. They knew how to get the evidences and cover their own trail. They would then try to shame, harass and embarrass you. It's hard to believe we are the first victims but we may be the first ones who refuse to shut up. If you didn't fall into the trap and didn't go along with their plans, they would post your personal info online. They may have removed our full name from the link below but what's done, it's done. I sincerely hope there won't be another victims. You know the owners have mental issues when they are so obsessed with one negative Yelp review. 4/5/2018: If you refuse to give this company five stars on Yelp, they would first call and harass you and claim this was a faked review. Then they would threatened legal action. If you refused to back down, they would post pictures of your home and full name online. Feel free to check out how this business responded to our review. We are not embarrassed because we aren't the ones who require a license to operate. Do you really want somebody whom you initially trusted, invited them to your home, took pictures where they were not authorized to go in, and invaded your privacy like this? We have animals and so we locked certain areas. We contacted NYS Attorney General office, and we will be filing a formal written complaint upon their recommendation. There are other moving companies nearby. Use the alternative please. We refuse to back down because we as the consumers have the right to voice our opinions. This business cared about their own "reputation" than their customer's personal data, such as names, addresses and credit card numbers. The other reviews must be faked. My fiance and I chose to work with them for our long distance move from NJ to MA based on yelp reviews - We're so glad we did! Pre- move-out date: Their quote was the best and we liked that we had a written contract and everything was spelled out. Email exchanges were fine, but could be a little more prompt. We didn't hear from them for 4 days (and we had to check in with them) since we sent them our final inventory list until we received the contract. A confirmation would have been nice since we were just anxious to set the date and get things moving, given our move was in two weeks and in August when everybody else was moving. On the day of the move: Both the NJ and NY (who drove from NY to MA) teams were very professional and friendly. We were particularly impressed with the care they took to pack up our electronics and the descriptiveness of the inventory list they prepared. We also appreciated that they were flexible. On our way from NJ to MA, We had gotten caught in traffic and were 15 minutes late to our appointment. Fortunately, the doorman was able to open the door for them. They figured out the location of the loading deck and started unloading before we got there. When we checked off inventory, we didn't see any damages to our belongings, but we noticed one of our lamp shade was scratched after they had left. Not a big deal (I have had worse experience with other movers), considering they accepted yelp coupon, which they said that they didn't recognize. The people that work at this company are magicians! Everyone from the office people, to the movers. A fella by the name of Anton was very helpful in organizing my move of an office space. He helped and scheduled a rubbish removal from my office, and was able to collect a group of guys that moved over 40 full filing cabinets on their backs! My office was located on the 3rd floor with a very narrow staircase. The guys were able to strap the filing cabinets on their backs (like backbacks) and carefully carry them down 3 flights of stairs. Mind you, these weighed well over 200lbs each. The moving conditions were harsh; it was raining, there was no space to park the truck because a Chipotle was opening up next door and the whole block was barricaded off by national grid. These poor guys had to carry things a full block after taking heavy items down 3 flights of stairs. They handled themselves very well; they were professional and friendly. They did a lot more than originally agreed upon. They helped us take apart furniture at the new office and put other furniture together. They helped us take out the trash from the new office and move furniture exactly how we wanted them. I would recommend this company and the group of 5 guys that I had any day to my friends and family. If anyone that helped us with the move reads this, I would like to personally thank each and every one of you for making our move less stressful and putting in more effort than you had to. read more

The movers did a great job and I have no complaints about the actual move or the individuals who helped us, However, when I requested a quote I was told I would be given 3 movers and it would take about 4 hours. The day of the movers arrived in a small van, not a moving truck, and said they showed up that morning to find they only had the van so they would have to make two trips. Obviously needing to make two trips would extend the move time and thus increase my price. I used Go To Moving to move from Long Island to Chicago in June of 2017, and they were amazing! I had a very strict timeline wherein I needed my stuff to be picked up in NY and then delivered at my Chicago apartment two days later. Rob was the person I spoke with to plan the move, and of the companies I contacted, he ensured that his company could guarantee delivery in that timeframe. NO other company could make that guarantee - everyone else said it would probably happen, but my stuff would be on a truck with other deliveries, so it could also be delivered in 5 or 7 days. Go To Moving GUARANTEED delivery, and their prices were competitive with the other companies. On the day of the move, 3 guys showed up right on time and had all of my stuff moved into their truck in less than 2 hours. The main mover, Joe, was great, and he was the one who then drove my things to Chicago. Joe was waiting for me 2 days later in Chicago (with 2 different movers) and moved all of my things again in 2 hours into my new apartment. Nothing broke, everything was packed perfectly, and they were even willing to dispose of furniture that they had packed up and I couldn't use in my new apartment. The whole experience from start to finish was great! I would highly recommend them! read more

Lee, Jean & Shawn were exceptional, professional and efficient in everything they did with our move from NYC to CT. They were able to take a 9 hour job and do it in 6 hours in a completely smooth operation.They handled everything with care, went out of their way to try to move things to the right spots, and they certainly have an eye for home decoration/arrangement. With one of our large objects that would not fit up the steps on the first or second tries, and after we agreed it was impossible, they took the extra time to try to take apart the piece and bring it up. All my stuff was left in my garage and not even in the rooms where it was labeled as well. I heard one of the movers say he would leave my shoes in the garage. Very costly damages. I understand that inclement weather can have an effect on moving. However, I believe that this company mishandled the weather event that led to them canceling my move with almost no notice. The day that my move was scheduled 3 - 4 inches of snow fell (as forecast) in NYC. The snow stopped falling before noon (as predicted). It was a weekday and the streets were clear and conditions were safe, it seemed it was business as usual for everyone but Go 2 Moving. My 4 hour move was scheduled to being at 10am. It was a small move from a small one bedroom apartment to a studio apartment. At 7:49am I received a text asking if it was "possible to postpone the move to tomorrow due to snow." I replied informing them that I needed to work the next day and asked if we could start the move at noon when the snow was predicted to stop. I was told, "ok let's wait a little and see how the conditions are". Not until after 10am was I finally told that the move would be canceled. Again, at noon the snow had stopped, the roads were clear and safe, the temperature was well above freezing. The appliances at my new residence had been able to be delivered without a problem. They have no clause or information in their contract or on their website that states anything about weather. As a result of Go 2 Moving not complying with out contract I incurred costs of paying rent on two residences as well as the cost of having to take an additional day off of work and potentially effecting my employment and work creditability. When I informed Paul of the financial burdens I was incurring because of his decision, he told me "I can't control the weather." I asked if he could provide me with any financial restitution and all he could offer me was a mattress cover. He said that he was already giving me "a deal" and couldn't take anything off. He was offering me the exact "deal" that is offered on their website. As I said, I understand that moving can be effected by snow, however in this case I believe the company could have performed their contracted duties safely in the afternoon. Additionally, they could have shared the burden of the financial costs I was left with as a result of their inability to fulfill their contract. I believe taking 10 or 15% off the total cost of the move could have been an easy solution to keep their customer happy. Not that it would even come close to covering the money that I lost. Unfortunately I was unable to find other movers on such short notice and had to continue with this company. The next day they arrived 30 minutes late. The performance of the move was adequate and what I would expect from a reputable moving company. However, the demeanor of the staff was inappropriate. One of the workers made an inappropriate comment about his presence in my bed while assembling the bed frame and mattress. For these reasons I will not use Go 2 Moving again and would never recommend them. read more

As a further comment to Paul's response to my review. There are a lot of misstatements by the owner of Go2Moving in his response to my review, which is unfortunate. What is true is that this job was substantially understaffed and therefore the costs were significantly underestimated despite the fact that I had requested a representative of the Company take pictures of the contents required to be moved so that there would be no surprises in the cost to me and no surprises for the movers. the job was originally quoted for 2 days and the moving company had to provide movers for 2 additional days and left me with over 10 crates to unpack myself substantially increasing the final cost over the original quote. read more

I had to move from a small studio downtown to a one-bedroom uptown. I had provided all my furniture details and boxes/suitcases to the owner beforehand and they were quick to respond. I did try to reschedule the time of the move 2 days before (making it perfectly clear that I understand it's late notice so I am perfectly happy to keep the original time too), I actually didn't get a response and had to give them a call. The email response came in the day of - pretty much confirming the phone conversation so I wonder if there's a lack of communication, even though I get the impression that there should only be 2 or 3 guys working in the office. The day of, everything started off smoothly. They were right on time and started right away. Now I didn't know this but when they say "3 men and a truck", they really mean 2 men because one of them is the driver and has to watch over the vehicle at all times, he only contributed to the heavy lifting when it became obvious that we were running way behind schedule. The person disassembling my furniture was EXTREMELY SLOW, it was all standard IKEA issued furniture, and I had paid someone else before to assemble it for me so I know even though they were bulky pieces, they should not have taken nearly as long as they did. Both the disassembling and the assembling took much much longer than I expected...they quoted me 4 hours and it was going on 6 when they finished. Granted I know I had stairs going up and down, but I'd disclosed that fact when they quoted me an estimate as well. I have to say that if it is not for Rob, the move would be at least 8 hours. He pretty much single-handedly moved all my boxes down the stairs, usually 3 or 4 at a time just to minimize the trips, and was just so helpful and energetic, trying to get the job done as fast as possible while his two other teammates were dawdling...he seriously made all the difference! If you can, you should definitely put in a request for him! If the other guys were like him too, I have no doubt I would have been done in 3 hours! read more

I recently moved from Manhattan to Brooklyn, and was referred to Go To Moving by a friend of mine. Once the packing was done, these guys really hit the gas pedal and wrapped up all of my furniture, disassembled the bed and got in the truck in about 1.5 hours. They met me at the destination apartment which was a walk up and delivered everything and set everything back up. All in all, I could not have asked for a better experience. Thank goodness I found these guys. We were supposed to move yesterday, the company we originally hired never showed up, in a panic I called GO TO and they said they would be at our house at 9 am today. Definitely 5 star. These guys are by far the best movers for me. Following are the reasons: 1. They are flexible without too much change in the estimate, if you happen to have more than what you mentioned in the original inventory. Other movers can rip you off on this. 2. They are very courteous. I liked the way how Joe spoke to me. 3. They are on time. They did a same day delivery from NJ to VA. 4. Their quote is very optimized.
