The drive-through car wash didn't get all the snowy dirt off part of the side of my car, even though I paid for the "ultimate" highest tier wash, but following with a quick scrub from the shampoo brush in the self-service bay got the rest of the dirt off. Who knows if you're actually getting what you paid for, since the indicators (that are supposed to light up and tell you the level that you're getting) don't light up, and no indicators come on telling you when each of the specific steps are taking place? Was the underside actually cleaned? I don't know, since I can't see under there. Were all those high-tech coatings actually applied? How would I know? I'm glad that employees Mark and Dan were there when I was, because they were able to give me the lowdown on the benefits of all the elements that are put on your car with the higher priced tier... They gave me good assurance that you are actually getting more protection to your car once it's cleaned, if you do that higher tier... But I wish it was spelled out more there in advance in the signage, before making the purchase. Yeah, Those 2 guys were super helpful, so I'm glad they were there... I just wish the signage was better and that the wash level indicator lights were working. read more

I can't speak highly enough of this car wash. I am more of a self serve kind of guy and usually wash / detail my vehicles at home. Having visited with my truck this week while passing by I was back the very next day with my wife's car. Self serve bays take cards and Apple Pay etc. along with tokens which is a huge convenience in this modern world. They have a variety of options from pre rinse, wheels / tires, foam brush, soap, high pressure rinse, spotless rinse etc. I also heard they are soon to be testing a blower / dryer in the self serve which I haven't seen anywhere else. The bays were clean, the pressure was amazing and both vehicles came out just as good as they would at home. The vacuum was powerful and I was able to take care of an entire Tahoe full of kids crumbs for only $1! As a first timer the employees and more importantly Dan were extremely friendly & helpful on both occasions and never stopped working to make sure the place was in great shape. If you're local, visiting or passing through & looking for a car wash then this is the place. No idea why it only has 3 stars because it was a 5 star experience all round! Thanks guys read more

When I came to the drive through car wash the system was down, but right before I drove away a worker Dan came out to help. He was so nice and helpful! He tried to reset the system but unfortunately it still needed further maintenance. Since I had already paid for a wash though, he gave me a one time card to come back and use. Sprayer worked well, soap worked, credit card machine worked, and all in all it was an affordable car wash for a moderately dirty outside Subaru (dirt + ash from the sky...the new normal in California). Didn't try the vacuums but there was one guy there using them so they were working. The automatic car wash bay was closed off. Easy location. All in all, no reason to not come back! read more

This place, Cross Roads Car Wash, should cease operations before anyone else gets cheated out of $3, or more. Went there to wash the car and deposited 3 tokens at $1 each. The wash bay chosen had a malfunctioning pump and would spray water at high pressure for only a few seconds, then immediately weakening to a pathetic drizzle. The bay next to ours was functioning but the drainage was plugged and five inches of standing muddy water kept us out. We tried to wash the soap off the car from the broken wash bay by crossing the T, parking across the front of the bay and moving the car to get the front, back, sides. UPDATE: Owner just added that they've spent beaucoup bucks upgrading the facilities. I'll be heading back to learn to what degree this expenses have alleviated the deficiencies. Another car sat in a bay idling. I asked the owner if he was done and he replied that that bay didn't work either. Was washing my vehicle at the self-service bay when the machine lost power numerous times, causing delays and costing more money. I saw someone there (who I knew was the owner) and informed him that the machine lost power. He said he would look into it, and never came back. The machine failed several more times, I saw him again and told him again that the machine lost power. He promptly snapped at me, "do you want your money back" I said no, I want a working machine and the people behind me do too. He said it's shorting out, what do you want me to do? It's a busy day? He wasn't going to do anything until I went to the next car in line, then he barked "fine I will fix it". Bottom line, owner is aggressive, takes zero accountability and I would not use his car wash or his realtor services. My car was filthy after this last storm, and honestly I didn't think that just one wash would do it, but it came out sparkling clean. I purchased the car wash club for 2 cars. This was a very slow process which took the owner a couple of weeks to set up. The first 2 months I was charged the wrong amount even though I kept calling to have it fixed and was ignored. To make things easier on him I upgraded my car wash to the highest price option they had for 2 cars. After all this, the car wash would randomly close on warm sunny days and I was not able to use car wash as much as I would have liked. I canceled the car wash, with no response (a recurring theme with this owner) I disputed the charge with my credit card and they continue to charge me. I had to cancel my card to make it stop. Every time I called the owner, he never called me back, the only time he spoke with me was when I saw him in person at the car wash or he happened to pick up the phone. read more

The likelihood of all components of the self serve equipment working at the same time on any given day is maybe 30%. Either the sprayer hose has blown out or the soap brush isn't producing soap or the credit card machine won't shut off. It's a crap shoot. It's really just a matter of the owner checking his equipment which apparently is not often. There's trash in the bays that has been there for weeks. If you just need to blast the big chunks of mud off you car and that's it, then give it a go. It's not like you have any other choices for self serve in Truckee. read more

Man, I love car washes but you gotta make sure you're working fast. I made the mistake of trying to remove grime and dirt off the rims of my car, and really should have got down there with elbow grease and either pre-wash or do it completely separately. I killed too much time trying to remove said grime just with pointing the cleaning gun at it. You can also detail your car with vacuums and other cleaning materials at a different station. read more

Pretty nice self serve place. There is a full service exterior only drive through and the guys do a great job getting the bugs and grime off before you go in the tunnel. The hurricane blowers have some power, don't expect that magnetic sign to stay on. read more

Great place with friendly/honest ownership. I have used the self-service bays here many times and have found it to be a good value. I had a small issue with the scrub brush the other day and the owner kindly refunded me for the minor inconvenience. He also was helpful in trying to retrieve a missing floor mat. Although it wasn't there, I was impressed that he kept track of lost items. I've used this multiple times over the last couple of years. The one I am referring to in this review is the automatic wash. It's really hit and miss and to me it's based upon how well the manual wash by the person is done. If they do a diligent job it turns out good. If they don't then it's a half ass wash at best. This tells me two things; the auto washer isn't that great because if it was we wouldn't have to rely on the manual wash. In the end that means you may not leave happy as it's all dependent upon if the manual washer cares or not. It's unfortunate because I'd rather spend the money locally but back to Reno for us as you can get a good wash at a better price and it's touchless. Oh well... read more

Do not use a credit card, charged $10 for a 4 min hand held wash, then my credit card was charged again the next day. Also tokens were stuck in machine, lost another $3. This place was great when it opened but sadly has gone downhill, really needs to be maintained, zero customer service! read more

This car wash is just OK. You can either wahs your own car or run it through the car wash. I do have to say it is better they use a brush to get off the first layer of dirt before your car goes throuhg the wash which is better than going to a ghas staion car wash. There is no full service car wahs here. Man I wish Truckee had a decent full service car wash. read more

So we were up in Truckee over Christmas and New Year. My husband went to the slopes with our daughter, and I made him take the dog to play a little bit of ball before and after skiing. Turns out that our dog must have got into someone's trash the night before because my husband said that on his return from skiing to the car park, he could smell our car before he could see it! Urgh. Our dog had a major 'accident' everywhere inside the car. DISGUSTING! I called Cross Roads car wash and Mark was very polite and agreed that he could help detail the car even though he doesn't get much detailing business in the winter (for obvious reasons). Anyway, the car came back, fully cleaned inside, with special enzyme cleaner. Nothing was too much trouble. He didn't bat an eyelid. He could have charged triple for the work, I think that my husband would have paid anything; but he didn't. Just the regular price for a detail.
