How they modify the exercises for ALL members is the best part. For me, they give me suggestions to make them more challenging. For others, they'll have them lower the weights and do lower impact exercises to accommodate injuries and level of experience. Every workout is different, which keeps things interesting. The program is motivating and I can honestly say I get in just as good of a workout in 45 minutes here as I would in 1.5 hours on my own in a weight room. It's fast paced, but doable for everyone. The space itself is organized and clean. The members I've met are all friendly and the coaches are encouraging. This isn't an in-your-face bootcamp style gym. No intimidation tactics here! I can't recommend Foundry Fitness enough to anyone who wants to change up their boring, old workout routine or needs an extra kick in the butt.

I've received two emails from the owner of Warriorfit telling me that "he's sorry I didn't grasp…read morewhat they do," basically putting me down instead of truly taking in and using my criticism constructively. I didn't respond. He also said I was expecting a Crossfit workout. Nope. I don't do Crossfit, I disagree with a lot of what Crossfit does, especially since it's injury rate is so high. And I certainly wasn't expecting a Crossfit workout when I tried Warriorfit. However, pretty much everyone in the fitness industry is doing some variation of metabolic conditioning -- whether it's bootcamp style, Crossfit or something else. And I know what metabolic conditioning is, because I've trained with some of the best in the industry. Warriorfit is, indeed, practicing metabolic conditioning. Sending repeated emails telling me I didn't "get it" shows a real lack of class, so I'm sticking with my two stars. And that's generous. I'm doing so because I think Warriorfit's intention is to help people and because it probably does help some people. I just don't think it's the most effective way to do so and I see lots of room for improvement in the coaches' technique, methodologies, and now business practices and just plain manners. And, despite the owner comment posted below, not one of the people in my class was there for martial arts instruction. They weren't martial artists. They were there for general fitness and conditioning. His martial arts instruction was the best part of the workout, but it was a SMALL part of the workout and probably what Warriorfit should stick to teaching. Problem is there is more demand for general classes. As for my "qualifications," 1.) I'm pretty sure I do not need to be qualified as a consumer of such services. This should tell you what the tone of his messages to me was really like. And 2.) I will be earning my Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist cert, which is more than what any of the instructors there has. Yuck, yuck, and yuck. *Postscript: This guy just can't take criticism (like a man, or like a woman) and use it to improve. It's obvious from the ongoing back and forth. It's also pretty obvious how many of friends he's gotten to write reviews since I posted mine. Ugh. Who has the time for this? Again, just because you've practiced martial arts does not mean you should be teaching general fitness classes, especially if you are unlicensed and uninsured. But, hey, the liability is yours to assume. Good luck with that.

Lets Go Warriors! I…read morewas honestly skeptical to use this place because I have a slight anxiety disorder and do not like big classes. BUT this class works for me! Everyone one is class is nice and encouraging, as we are all just trying to make ourselves better. I am going on my fourth week, and I am sure that if I go for 2 more months I will reach my goal. I love the fact that they offer 7 & 8 oclock classes Monday through Thursday and 7 pm classes on Friday. I work late shift at work and do not get off until 6 pm, and was afraid I would be stuck in traffic and not make it to class ontime, but I have made it early since the day I started. My first week was brutal. I was injured, back and shoulder, and could not do all of the moves or even move as fast but the instructor for the day David- gave me alternatives and stretches so that I could get well soon. I no longer have the injuries. The classes are very upbeat, you are constantly moving and challenging yourself. The instructor often says " Just dont stop, I dont care if you move slow, Just KEEP MOVING"! I love that they are motivating and really want you to work for it. Class always starts off with a ten minute run. I havent mastered my breathing yet so this is horrible for me, but I at least try to get through it every time. Each class is different. Some days there are different stations where the instructor will have you do different moves. There are days where we are all about the punching back and we are kicking and punching for a good 20 plus mintues. There are days when we are outside on the field running up and down the field, squatting up and down the field, lunging, bear crawling, and all of the above. Im allergic to class and after a bad reaction to an outdoor session I go to the later class so I do have red bumps on my arms the next day at work :(. There is always stretching, and always abs. I like the fact that they target your whole body and dont forget about the booty, abs or back :) Overall Warriorfit is def worth giving a try, if you dont end up loving it at least you tried something new. I love it after 3 weeks, I actually did two sessions yesterday so that I didnt have to work out on Friday- and I felt great after doing it. Lots of sweat but lots of smiles today I got a great deal on Amazon Local $20 for a month of unlimited classes, I def want to get a membership for the rest of summer. Great promotion! By the time you finish this class you will def feel like a warrior!

I originally checked this place out from a groupon for a months membership of carbon cardio and after a month of trying it out, I decided to become a member without any hesitation. As a business, this crossfit box simply has so much to offer in comparison to other boxes I've been to. They treat their members well, they have mobility clinics, monthly challenges, host happy hours, bring a friend free days, water, recovery drinks, protein for sale, shower and two bathrooms, etc... overall, it's a fun, high energy environment and you can never get bored of this place. I highly recommend crossfit shady grove to experienced athletes and even people that have never stepped foot in a gym in their lives. The workouts are amazing and there are always modifications for movements as needed. The only downside is that being a member of a crossfit facility is usually pretty expensive, but having been a member for about one year now, it's worth every penny!

After trying this place for 31 classes, I think its time for a review:…read more I have been to several different gyms and I have always known about OrangeTheory, but I did not start appreciating this place until I was doing multiple classes a week. It took me about 10-12 classes to begin forming my own preferences. Also, this place is very clean compared to other gyms - required wipedown of the machines/equipment after usage. There is a bit of a learning curve when you start, but once you do start with the routine of the place, it becomes very enjoyable to be there. I also like the payment options because you are not always locked down for a year at a time. You have the option to do monthly or even 6 months at a lower rate. If you are traveling, you can pay a fee to hold the month. I really do appreciate the flexibility, especially since I have month-long international vacations coming up. The heart rate monitors are finicky at times and are not entirely accurate, but it is still a good motivator. I like watching the screen just to see how much I am exerting or where I am compared to others. If I am the only one chilling in blue, then it lets me know that I am the slacker in the room. For me, I was never a runner. I could barely run a block without wanting to stop. After coming here, I was shocked I was able to do these extended running blocks and still keep going. I am able to see some improvement in performance after a month. Now, everything above applies to OTF (OrangeTheory Fitness) in general. The reason why this location is such a great place is its staff and location. It is tucked away in the corner of the shopping center farthest away from the busy area near Harris Teeter. They do have a parking area right next to them that extends all around. Also, it is walkable to this location from my house, so ice, rain, snow, etc. do not affect me and my schedule. When I signed up, I was a bit skeptical and was unsure how I would fit in with everyone else. However, the staff here are all so nice. I was actually taken aback when I came back for my second day and the staff already said hello using my name. I thought it was a fluke at first, but till this day, they have greeted me with smiles and laughter. Whenever I had issues with the heart rate monitors, they are always prompt in trying to address the issue. I have always felt like I could depend on them when I run into problems. The coaches all have their own personalities, but the best thing is that they are not intimidating at all. They help you when they see your form is off - mostly through whispering. They give high fives coming in and out of the work out area. Some of them crack jokes during the workout, which does add a good comedic value considering all you are thinking about is when you can walk on the treadmill. Overall, I am glad that I started coming to this location and highly recommend it for at least a try.

Per the contract you have to wear a "uniform." What that uniform is, is not specified but you can assume it's a Soldierfit shirt. If you intend to workout often, 5 days or more a week, you have to wash the same shirt everyday or risk being admonished or have your membership terminated without a refund ( meaning you have to pay in full If you have a 6 month or year membership). Or you're simply unhygienic and wear a sweaty shirt multiple days in a row. The own Steve stated I could purchase more shirts, which is ridiculous given I'm paying 129 a month. Providing new members with three shirts to start off would be more reasonable but as I mentioned the gym is money focused not patron focused. In general, the workouts are okay but the atmosphere is very lackluster and better suited for ppl looking to learn how to workout rather than ppl with fitness or an athletic backgrounds. Patrons can also be distracting as they often will ask me what to do instead of the instructor. This is okay from time to time but can be burdensome to ppl looking to focus in on their own goals and workout. Overall, I regret signing a year contract and will be be very cautious when dealing with any future contracts with uniform requirements that could impact or promote poor hygiene. Note, Rockville is a more fast pace athletic gym so there are alternatives. Gaithersburg is a very small gym and the instructor I met was not attentive or appreciative of my time when I met with him for a consultation. Note, Gaithersburg offered me a 90 dollar rate but Clarksburg charged me 129, once again showing how money centric the owner of Clarksburg is.

That was over a year ago and I'm still 20 lbs lighter than when I started - AND my last physical has me still in great health! Working with Grant was a life changing experience for me. His kind nature and genuine care for his clients is evident in how he advises and trains each individual. It wasn't just me! I've had a half dozen friends work with Grant after watching my transformation and the chain keeps growing - Love it :)

If you're looking to get harder,…read morebetter, faster, stronger in the most efficient and functional way possible - MyBootcamp is it. I first met Grant at his indoor cycling classes at Revolve, and his rides were and always are mentally and physically tough. I had started to build up my endurance and strength through cycling, but the thought of trying out MyBootcamp was still intimidating. I mean, c'mon - I saw pictures of MyBootcampers pulling tires, slamming firehoses, and tossing sandbags. I thought I wouldn't survive my first session last March, but afterward I actually felt like a complete badass. I whipped that firehose and learned how to properly do kettlebell swings, among other things. Plus I was the only girl there (thanks Matteo, Rob, and Neal for letting me kick your butts that day :). (Side note: most sessions are filled with fit, athletic and attractive ladies, so all the single men in DC should definitely sign up... just sayin' ;) ) Four months later and I'm incredibly proud of how strong I've become because of MyBootcamp. Grant and Chris have taught me how to really push myself mentally and physically. They know exactly when and how to push me to get past my comfort zone, and because of that, my endurance/strength/mobility levels are at the highest they've ever been. Now I'm addicted to improving those levels with each workout, and my two favorite "Grant-isms" that stick with me every time are 1) There is never perfection, only progress; and 2) Being strong is only good if it's actually useful. Other things that I love about MyBootcamp? I love that the workouts are outdoors; I love the camaraderie; I love the new mobile app which makes managing your MyBootcamp addiction even easier; and most importantly, I love how much Grant and his team care about you. Thank you, Grant and the MyBootcamp team - I couldn't be more thankful.
