This is a great Crossfit Box. It is located in convenient are in the Houston heights, and the coaches and crossfitters are very friendly. This was my first time participating in Crossfit at this gym, and the attention to detail the coaches give in the areas of safety and form is much appreciated. The coaches are more concerned with newbies getting practice their first time versus completing all the reps for time. I thought my first time was going to be very competitive because this is what I was used to from other Crossfit gyms I have gone to in California. I felt as thought the lack of competition for newbies made the workout and whole atmosphere feel more welcoming. This is definitely a great way to keep people happy and coming back, and remove the whole aspect of Crossfit intimidation. I even felt a little intimidated driving there my first time but this was completely gone after I stepped foot into the gym and Clark Hibbs welcomed me like we had been long lost friends. He went out of his way to introduce me to the other crossfitters even though it was a couple minutes passed the start of the workout. I did snatches for the first time today (7/26/2016), and I was very concerned about having good form because I did not want an injury. Clark Hibbs broke the snatch movement down into 4 different movements we practiced individually a number of times. After we all mastered these individual moves we put them all together in one quick motion while he watched each of us. If any of us needed an adjustment to the snatch he came over after we put the bar down to show us how to make an adjustment. Other typical coaches might talk you through it but showing is one of the best ways to improve form immediately. Clark is very encouraging for newbies, and experienced crossfitters. I think he understands there is always room for improvement no matter how long a person had been doing Crossfit. He uses different forms of motivation - soft encouragement, and suggestive techniques - which work very effectively to get people to push to their max. He asked if I could just get that last rep, and I felt so motivated to make it happen. They charge $185 per month for a membership, but after your first time you will understand why this amount is worth all every penny. I would try Clark Hibbs workouts your firs time. I am going to start dropping in once a week for $20 per session. You can see how this would add up to almost 3x the $185 membership fee per month. At $185 / 12 class per month if you only go three times a week this comes out to around $15 per one hour class. Crossfit trainers facilities, nationwide have a series of complaints and litigation over the noise, they do not care who they disturb, how many times the police come, the only answer is to file litigation. These people are very rude and I am sure much better facilities are available in a city this size, without supporting a business that disrupts the peace in the area. read more

Most friendly, most welcoming Crossfit box I have ever been to... there's something really special about this place. Revoke has everything you would expect from a Crossfit box (bars, weights, rigs, balls, ghds, rowers, etc) and plenty of breathing room to challenge yourself. What really makes Revoke special are the people... the owner, the coaches and the community create an authentic and supporting experience that is a rare breed. I'm sure this is a great place to work out. However, this is a residential neighborhood, and the loud music is very annoying. Hopefully, they would be a little more neighborly and tone down the volume or install an AC system and close their doors. read more

Because CrossFit Revoke inspired changes within me that go beyond my physical appearance, I can finally say I'll never look back to the insecure woman I was before I walked into the doors of Revoke. When I found the courage to give CrossFit Revoke a try, my life changed.I only knew that CrossFit was intense, a word that definitely did not describe me. What I did know is that I was overweight and worn down from my failed attempts to stay active and engaged in my fitness. I'm so glad I found this place. I've been going for about 9 months now and it just perfectly fits my style. It's laid back in the sense of not being affectatious, but there is a quiet intensity here as well. People who come here are intent on achieving their goals. There are four coaches at the gym, all of whom I like and respect. The facility is relatively large compared to other boxes I'm used to, especially all of the ones in the heights, and the space has high ceilings, a large rig, and lots of the nice-to-haves, such as slam balls, climbing ropes (3), rowers (3), and and high rings. No A/C, but some big fans and the high ceiling keep it cooler in the summer. It's a very friendly community - people tend to remember each others' names and chat before and after class. Some people bring their dogs to play with other dogs in a pen out back, and some people even bring their toddlers on occasion. For me personally, I love being part of a community, but the most important thing is whether I'm getting results. After coming for an average about 1.5-2 days per week for some time, I upped the dose to 3-4 times per week and my rate of gains improved dramatically. I am stronger, faster, lighter, and better-looking than I've been in years, and you can be too. I recommend a minimum of 3 times per week, CONSISTENTLY, and work hard whenever you come. You will feel good, be more capable, and of course, look amazing. The camaraderie and friendly rivalry psyches you up to take your fitness to another level. Get your ass in here already! read more

I have been to several boxes in the Heights at this point, and Revoke has the best combination of helpful and knowledgeable coaches, thoughtful strength-building and WOD programming, the right amount of equipment to accommodate the class loads (and growing!), a good atmosphere (has that warehouse-y feel, plus its dog friendly!), and a great group of peers. I've been going to Revoke for 4 years and I love it! Before joining Revoke I tried several other gyms and none of them were as friendly and welcoming. The coaching staff cares about their members and the community, I enjoy being part of gym that host fundraisers and events to help others. Most importantly the workouts are always challenging and they offer a large variety of classes that target cardio fitness, as well as strength. No matter what your goal is the team at Revoke will help you achieve it. read more

This is my 4th box. I'm staying put. My thing is the endurance program. Excellent for endurance athlete's missing functional fitness and strength training. If you're looking to add another 'pain cave' to your training this is worth looking into. A lot of member's do this along with the regular curriculum and some of us do this only. During the first 3 weeks of my move back to Houston I tried almost every CrossFit box (gym) in the Heights area. I'm fairly new to CrossFit so my criteria were helpful, strict coaches and an atmosphere that supports growth over ego and reputation. I found what I was looking for at CrossFit Revoke. Clark is the head coach over there - he will not let you get away with anything less than good form and all-out effort. The facilities are not... luxurious, but have everything: sleds, ropes, kettlebells, tires, balls, rings, rowing machines, and of course barbell racks. It's even dog friendly. Hands down he best box/community I've been apart of. Nick (owner) and Clark (head coach) are great people, terrific coaches. I've been in crossfit for close to 3 years now an feel like I not only learned but also grew leaps and bounds in both my technique and strength while there at Revoke.
