    The North River. Mmmm good!
    Tim H.

Wow! What a find. An acquaintance told me about this Cafe and Deli. The Italian Wedding Soup and macaroni salad were home made and delicious. I had the NORTH RIVER sandwich. The Roast Beef (Boar's Head) was placed on a very large tasty braided roll with Vermont Cheddar, fresh horseradish sauce, lettuce, tomato and Bermuda Red onion and was absolutely scrumptious. My friends sandwich was on large grilled sourdough and was called TURKEY RACHEL. He loved it and like me he is a foodie. I told my wife about it when I got home and we will drive up there in a couple of weeks to try some more on the menu (We are an hour and ten away). The place it self look's homey and quaint BUT the food and the service is excellent! We talked with four of the staff after and complimented them on their work and you can tell they all love what they do. Thank you ladies! Nice work. PS - I've faced some controversy on yelp in New England before regarding a friends restaurant in my hometown. There are lots of trolls out there who may be writing bad reviews because they are in competition with these great restaurants or they don't like a staff member or owner. To these trolls I say, you are pitiful! Shame on you! To you I say TRY IT YOURSELF! You will like it. Tim J Mmmmmmmmm mmmmmm good!

Cute little spot. I recommend coming here! The roosters remind me of my Nonnie. The atmosphere is relaxed and the ladies who work here are angels. Food came out quick and was the perfect pick me up. Thanks Crossroads!

I wanted to try this place for breakfast for long time... A couple years ago I use to order sandwiches for work meetings and they were always absolutely delicious and everyone loved them! I'm not sure what went wrong today. We decided to come to Crossroads for breakfast since we were staying in Hanover area. We chose to sit outside and the seating was great, the busy intersection did not bother thanks to the trees all around. First the waitress brought us coffee and carried plate with creams on top of one mug so it touched the coffee and made some mess, she did not bother to remove the plate from the mug and left it that way. The food we ordered just wasn't good. I wanted to order eggs Benedict with tomato, feta cheese and spinach that I typically do when I go out for breakfast. The waitress claimed that she knew exactly what I wanted despite of not having it on menu and why I didn't ask for Eggs Florentine right away. I repeated my order two more times to make sure I'll get what I wanted. Eggs Florentine that wasn't on the menu landed on our table after little bit of waiting. It did miss the tomato, eggs looked and tasted more soft boiled than poached and the frozen chopped spinach did not taste so good. The waitress showed up a few minutes later with saying "oh, they forgot the tomato, do you still want it?" I still wanted it and received two slices of tomato on extra plate a few minutes later. My boyfriend's egg and cheese bagel sandwich did not look very appetizing either. We also received extra glasses of water although we barely touched the ones we got originally with our coffees. We never got a straw for the water. We ate a little bit and left shortly, it was a big disappointment.

What a cute building they have and it is so well kept! #hanoverma #hanover #breakfast #nomnomnom

Recently I moved my real estate brokerage to Hanover and let me tell you I am becoming a regular here! I love to go in and grab a sandwich some times even grabbing a late breakfast sandwich with tatter tots! I also go there often to meet with vendors and clients for a nice morning meeting and breakfast. When you are in Hanover and need breakfast or lunch this is the place to go! Tell them I said hi!! Great work

We went on a Saturday late afternoon after seeing a movie. My friend and I ordered a beer and glass of wine to drink, and got a pizza and salad to split. Our food came out quickly! When we got our food we realized we didnt have any plates. We also still didnt have our drinks. We flagged our waiter down and told him. About 10 minutes later he comes back with these tiny PAPER plates, like dessert size... saying he couldnt find regular ones (??) - Said he would be back -pic attached ...still no drinks! Another waiter walked by noticed we weren't eating yet and asked if everything was okay. We showed him the small paper plates and asked for regular ones, and also told him we still were waiting on our drinks (1 beer, and 1 glass of wine!) He looked over and saw our drinks sitting on the bar (for who knows how long)... so this other guy finally brought us our drinks. He was also able to get us normal sized plates too. Was the food good? Yes, delicious Service needs work.. we will be back and hope for a different waiter.

It is super super clean. Very much family friendly and the food is consistent. I wouldn't say it's the most extravagant cuisine around but that's not what they're trying to do here. The drinks are just ok. I would skip any cocktail and go for a draft beer. The pizza here is actually surprisingly good. Very similar to most bar pies in the area. I've had the burgers, the fish sandwich and even the fish and chips all were good. My daughter USED TO love the Mac and cheese here but they changed it and she changed her mind lol. If you're looking for a good family friendly spot this is your place.

Hanover has the good stuff!…read more As a Quincy resident we are lucky to have some phenomenal restaurants close by. Hanover is another city that also has some excellent places to dine and 3Brothers Grill is just one of them! Met some girlfriends here just a few days after that nasty blizzard and the reason for mentioning it, parking was tough, but the restaurant was very busy. Upon arrival, the place is very modern and looks brand new. I think our server said they have been there for 2 years now. Same owners as Brothers Roast Beef in Quincy and numerous South Shore cities, which was new information to me. We all had some drinks and then ordered the Buffalo Chicken Dip which was okay. My only complaint is it wasn't whole chicken pieces, it was more of shredded chicken but still not bad. We all ordered salads. I got the Greek Chicken salad which was good. My friends also had salads and there were plenty of leftovers to bring home. I couldn't resist their banana fosters bread pudding! It was delicious. The bar area is perfect to watch sports games with their big screen TVs. I know I will be back for sure sometime. If you are in the area, I highly recommend checking this restaurant out. Cheers~

I went with a friend for lunch yesterday (Thursday), and after trying pretty much all of the major restaurants in the Hingham/JNorwell/Cohasset area, this restaurant was clearly at the top of my list. We were served the Wagyu Beef Sliders and the Bacon & Carmelized Onion Arancini for appetizers, and the Pulitzer Short Rib Burger and Norwell Hot Chicken Sandwich for entrees. I say that we were "served" those things because we actually ordered the Bavarian Pretzels and not the Wagyu Beef Sliders, but because the sliders were so delicious, we figured that we'll try the pretzels on the next go around. All four of our dishes were absolutely fantastic. The sliders and arancini were absolutely top-notch. I've had so many average arancini that I forgot what it's like when cooked at a high-level. It's as good as any I've had anywhere. And the Pulitzer Burger is now my favorite burger ever. Just the right amount of char on the outside with the inside a perfect medium. The chicken was moist with fantastic seasoning. The unexpected surprise were the fries. The fries here are outstanding. And they achieve something that I've never seen anywhere else: their fries are "pillowy". They are crispy on the outside, but the inside is remarkably moist and fluffy. I'd have to categorize these as steak fries, but steak fries are usually a bit denser. Service was terrific, and the decor of the place is not "dated", as another reviewer commented. The place was clearly built to give off a classic and intimate vibe. I didn't try any of the fish offerings this time, but I plan on returning and checking them out. It blows my mind that I never heard of this place until a few days ago.

Unfortunately, the service felt rushed and somewhat impersonal. Our waitress was responsive when she was at the table, but she tended to disappear for long periods of time. As for the food, it was honestly just average. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, and I'm sad to report it was a disappointment. The hollandaise was cold, the eggs were over-poached, the English muffin only was toasted on one side and the hash browns lacked flavor. Even the coffee I ordered with my meal arrived lukewarm. Surprisingly, the best part of the experience was the Bloody Mary I had at the start of the meal. Maybe the the food would be better during lunch or dinner service. I might give them another try in the future and hope for a better experience.

Ever gone to a place where one thing on the menu was great and then the rest of it was average or…read moreworse? It's the reason why now when I try a new eating place, I order out a bunch of things and then host a tasting party. Do various reviews swear by the Reuben sandwich at Crossroads Sandwiches in Scituate? Yes. And it is amazing. But what about the other menu items? So, a few days ago I went to Crossroads for the first time and ordered 6 sandwiches: Gobble Gobble Full Throbble (turkey), Italian, Henhouse, Forager (vegetarian), Mimi (roast beef), and the Grilled Chicken Panini. I then got some friends together (sandwich lovers who don't work in the restaurant biz), and we each had about a quarter of every sandwich. We all thought that the sandwiches from Crossroads were among the best we've tried in the South Shore. To make sure we didn't just catch them on a good day, the next day I went there and ordered three different sandwiches: the Reuben, Tomaso Tomato, and Double Smash Burger. I had a different group of friends meet to try these, and they had the exact same reaction as the first group: OUTSTANDING. Final result: all 9 sandwiches were top-notch, not just in flavor but also in terms of how they were assembled. The perfect ratio of meat to veggies. The right amount of sauce. The order of ingredients added for optimal taste and construction. These are carefully crafted sandwiches. These are sandwiches you want to eat slowly and savor. The excellence is everywhere at this place, and the fact that the food is excellent is a testament to the process of Crossroads Sandwiches. It would be easy to overlook this place because it is literally situated inside of a gas station mart. But the place is immaculate. And their incredible attention to detail even extends to how they pack their sandwiches. The Double Smash Burger was packed in a square cardboard container which matched the dimensions of the sandwich. The Forager came in a rectangular cardboard container which allowed it to arrive in pristine condition. Then they used thick butcher's paper for many of their other sandwiches. It's clear that each type of sandwich was packaged for optimal transport. And the owner Ben and his crew are as customer-friendly as you could want. When I went there the second time, I asked him about where he gets his ingredients because they clearly are far superior to the standard mass-produced meats and veggies found at most other sandwich places. And the secret for why this place is so great was revealed: he carefully sources everything AND he smokes all his own meat. Ben is clearly a hands-on owner who combines talent with attention to detail to put out a fantastic product. There are plenty of good sandwich places. But this is an exceptional one. One thing to be aware of is that the menu of sandwiches listed on their website homepage is far smaller than their full menu. To see the full menu you have to click on their Order Menu button. Crossroads Sandwiches is a true hidden gem. When Ben told me that they've been open for 2 years, I was shocked that it's taken me this long to actually try this amazing food venue.
