Location is great - in the Hanover Crossing complex, next to the movie theater, plenty of parking. Inside it is huge, and bright and really can hold a good amount of people. We went on a Saturday late afternoon after seeing a movie. My friend and I ordered a beer and glass of wine to drink, and got a pizza and salad to split. Our food came out quickly! When we got our food we realized we didnt have any plates. We also still didnt have our drinks. We flagged our waiter down and told him. About 10 minutes later he comes back with these tiny PAPER plates, like dessert size... saying he couldnt find regular ones (??) - Said he would be back -pic attached ...still no drinks! Another waiter walked by noticed we weren't eating yet and asked if everything was okay. We showed him the small paper plates and asked for regular ones, and also told him we still were waiting on our drinks (1 beer, and 1 glass of wine!) He looked over and saw our drinks sitting on the bar (for who knows how long)... so this other guy finally brought us our drinks. He was also able to get us normal sized plates too. Grew up eating at sullivans castle island. I was interested to see how this would measure up to that type of experience but in an actual restaurant. I think this place is legit. It is super super clean. Very much family friendly and the food is consistent. I wouldn't say it's the most extravagant cuisine around but that's not what they're trying to do here. The drinks are just ok. I would skip any cocktail and go for a draft beer. The pizza here is actually surprisingly good. Very similar to most bar pies in the area. I've had the burgers, the fish sandwich and even the fish and chips all were good. My daughter USED TO love the Mac and cheese here but they changed it and she changed her mind lol. If you're looking for a good family friendly spot this is your place. read more

I typically think of hot dogs and fried seafood but we're looking for a cleaner option and did the salmon and steak tips. I came here for lunch this afternoon. I was seated right away and I gave the waitress my beverage order. They are very good with seafood here but if you're not into seafood they also have plenty of other dishes on their menu such as salads, sandwiches, pizza and more. I was in the mood for a seafood dish so I decided on the fried scallop basket. Their seafood baskets come with one side order so I picked the crinkle cut french fries to go with my scallops. The scallops were fried exactly to my liking and the french fries were excellent as well. The server that I had was efficient and attentive. The seating was comfortable and the atmosphere was quiet. There is a bar area if you prefer to sit at a bar for a drink, an entree or what not. The only thing that could be improved upon is the portion size of the entrees. It was $27 for the scallop basket that I ordered and the portion that I received was definitely not worth what I paid for it. We hit up Sullivan's Castle Island at Hanover Crossing and found it to be a good little spot. I've never been to the iconic Sullivan's at Castle Island but certainly know about the famous hot dogs they serve there so had to give them a try. Not usually one to grab a couple hot dogs for dinner, I ordered two hot dogs with mustard and relish and substituted rice pilaf for the French fries. The hot dogs were served in a buttered, grilled roll and I have to say, they were quite delicious. Cooked perfectly and loaded with the right amount of condiments, the hot dogs would be something you could go back and have again and not tire of. The menu has bar pizzas, a few other sandwiches, some appetizers, salads and more. The space was clean and inviting and was a perfect place for a family to grab a relatively quick bite. Though it was table service with a waitress, the food was delivered quickly and it was piping hot. The service was attentive and friendly. All in all, a nice spot. Definitely would hit it up again when at Hanover Crossing again and would recommend it if you are there shopping. read more

I have been to the Sullivan's at Castle Island several times over the years and always had decent experiences I stopped at this location mid afternoon on a Saturday They have outdoor seating in as you walk into the right as a bar in additional seating with the hostess stand. On the left is additional seating and straight ahead is a counter to order. I ordered a hotdog with mustard a cup of chowder, small fry, and a raspberry lime Ricky When I went to sit down waiting for my food I found that the seating area on the left was for table service only in that for counter service they were two counters with stools to sit at, and that was it The food was decent however the hotdog was on the skimpy side The bun was a traditional New England bond was nicely grilled. The fries were crinkle, cut fries and fried well. The chowder was piping hot, which is a positive as too many places serve at lukewarm. It was solid. The raspberry lime rickey was OK. Just an odd set up as it doesn't seem like they know what they want to be, a bar, a hotdog stand, or a sit down restaurant. read more

I am an original location regular so expected close to the same. I was a little let down. The prices seem to be higher and the portions seem to be less. Also the food didn't seem to be the same (my favorite fried shrimp definitely wasn't the same). They also have new trendy things since it is a restaurant setting like pizza which I tried and was pretty disappointed (potato skin pizza). The burger and fries were good, the services was great, we had a nice friendly girl take our order and the food was with us quickly. Don't waste your money! I don't write many reviews, but Sullivan's in Hanover was just bad! My son and I arrived at 6:00 on a Friday night for dinner. It was busy, but plenty of available seats. We ordered our meals and the waiter came back in a few minutes to let me know they were already out of haddock, which is one of their main dishes! So, I ordered bbq chicken instead. We then waited well over a half hour to get our food. When it finally arrived, they somehow got bbq sauce from my chicken all over the garlic bread from my son's chicken parm meal. We then realized that they literally put plain pasta in a dish and dumped the chicken parm on top. There was zero sauce for the pasta! So after waiting for new garlic bread and sauce we ate very mediocre meals. The waiter was friendly, but was supposed to bring my son another water, which never came. All things considered, this was the worst restaurant experience I've had in over 20 years! read more

Food was very good - one of the best cheeseburgers I've had. Hot dog was on the small side but decent. Crinkle cut fries were ok. Chicken sandwich and buffalo bites were good as well. Ambiance is nice. Like that there's 2 separate sides - one more cafeteria style side and one as the bar side (think Wahlburgers). The only problem we experienced is that there's no good flow to the place. If you're ordering from the grab and go side, you have to find a table that's not meant for full service (I.e. we were asked to move 2x before we were finally on "the right side"). There needs to be better signage or separation between the 2 sides because it's very confusing. People walking in every which direction with no one helping people with where to go. Hoping this gets better as time goes on and they make some tweaks. Otherwise, I think it's a great addition to Hanover. read more

Was very skeptical about going here because I love Sullivan's at Castle Island and most places go downhill when they branch out.... but man was I wrong. Got a cheeseburger, fries, onion rings and a lemonade. Wait was not long. Food was hot and fresh and brought right over too me. Burger was medium rare (just like I like it and didn't have to ask) and juicy. I have a food allergy to tomatoes and they were very accommodating by cooking the burger separate from other burgers and made on a well prepped and cleaned station. For the positives, it was very clean and the waitstaff was pleasant and efficient. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that good. I've had friend clams at the South Boston location and they were great. Very disappointed. This place is conveniently located next to Ryan's amusement so we decided to take the family there after. The food was on par with school cafeteria food. Tried this place this week. It wasn't busy at all. Should've taken that as a hint. The second hint should've been the prices. Got a turkey club. There was barely any bacon, & what was there was fat. The 'turkey' was slimy deli meat. At least get boars head. Bread was weird. It was almost soggy even though it was toasted. The temperature difference between mine and my partner's meal (specifically, the crinkle fries (really?) seemed to defy logic. So, if you're looking to avoid crowds, overpay for 'food' that's meh, at best, then you've found your home. Otherwise, stick with the REAL Sully's at Castle Island. The service here is impeccable as is the cleanliness of the restaurant which is always important to me. The food is excellent, the food fried does in clean oil. The onion rings are hand cut and delicious. This is a nice price point as it is more upscale than a chain and yet more affordable than say the 110 Grill next door. I'm originally from Southie and I felt that I had to try this place. I love the dogs and fries at the original on Castle Island so that's what I got here. I have to say I was somewhat disappointed because the dogs here didn't have the snap that the Island dogs have and the roll wasn't cooked the same either. I have to say it was a poor imitation. Very fresh Haddock, cooked perfectly. Broccoli side is also cooked correctly - still crunchy and the right color green. I have gotten take out here numerous times and food is consistently good. Fries are crisp and cooked evenly, burgers are simple and not too greasy. This is a great spot for simple food. read more
