Love coming to this place since I think they make the best Reuben sandwich in town. Everything else is ok as far as a cafe goes.

Meh. Stopped in here for the first time today. A little underwhelmed. Coffee not great. Ordered a Reuben (they don't use pastrami though:( and it came with a bag of lays chips..really? Its a huge step up from the crappy diners of the area. Crossroads may be small, but they make a mean breakfast. The bakery like atmosphere is nice, and the specials are usually solid (try the breakfast quesadilla). Skip any diner within a 10 mile area of Harriman/Monroe/Woodbury and come to Crossroads. read more

Searching for a places in the area to eat, me and 3 of my friends found Crossroad Cafe on Yelp, decent reviews so we figured it was worth a try. Ordered waffles and bacon, simple. The first attempt at my simple order was a bust. Waffle was burned. Waitress saw that is was and offered to bring a new one. No problem. While my friends was eating, I notice a gentleman counting money behind the counter with the other waitstaff. No big deal. My waffle comes out of the kitchen on a plate, he stops counting money, lifts it off the plate, flips it around and continues to count he money as the waitress brings it to my table. I was appalled and disguised. Why would I eat this waffle that has been handled by someone with no gloves and bold enough to stand in plain view of the customer and be so careless. The waitress said "oh that's the cook". I brought it to her attention that I saw the entire situation. She apologize and I requested the manager. The manager said this was not his typical behavior and offered another meal. No thank you. I don't want anything else from this place. Dirty and unsanitary. Beware, cheap but you will get what you paid for. This not only stop me from eating but my friends did not want to finish their meals at all. We paid the remaining bill and left. read more

My husband and I stopped in wanting to try a new place to eat. We were promptly seated and the service was good. However, there are cords and dust around the booth. The coffee tasted old and burnt. My husband's home fries were underdone and bland. And the price of the French toast is not worth the amount of food. Breakfast with the ladies - after finding the farm unexpectedly closed! A quick Yelp search identified this local spot as worth a try. Eggs all around - ladies were particularly fond of their bacon. Nice friendly staff. Lots of good looking baked goods - though the still fresh 2013 resolutions kept anyone from making a purchase! A good time was had by all. read more

This place is a winner. Crossroads has the taste and charm of a vanishing American roadstop diner, but the newness of a self-aware small-town restaurant. Mom's fav. spot in town and I can see why. I've always been here with family for breakfast and they are tough to beat in the area for a good, simple breakfast. Diners in the area are a bit overpriced for their quality of breakfast, but Crossroads comes in cheaper and tastier (I only wish that they had syrup in a pour bottle instead of those packets that I always fumble around). I recently stopped in with family for lunch and was extremely pleased with my fried flounder panini on the specials menu. If I had the will power to not eat my entire lunch I would have bought a nice pastry to enjoy on the plane ride out of EWR (far better and cheaper than the options on United). Of course, my flight was delayed, so I should have bought the pastry. read more

Not much to look at from the exterior. But im glad my girlfriend convinced me to try it. Staff is friendly, decor is ok nothing fancy. The food. Eggs were cooked just right homefries are hands down best ive ever had pancakes were ok but for the price you cant go wrong cheapest best breakfast for two we have ever had. Ok, so we've lived in the area for fifteen years, and this is our go-to place or breakfast or brunch. If you want to know where and what the locals eat (rather than the craziness at Woodbury) this is it. There are a number of diners around; this place just happens to have better food (although not a 10 page menu). Hudson valley food is different than the city--Seems fresher and more board options. Lots of healthy ingredients--just not as trendy. So you'll get variations on omelettes, which is what I normally go for. Normally it's a couple of vegetables, A soft cheese and some pretty Good hash browns. I'm not a baked goods person, but they work. Another thing that takes some getting used to is it is quiet--Little in the way of dishes clattering in the background or loud conversation. The waitstaff is attentive but not in such a hurry to get you out. It's local but it's not like some jersey diners where everyone there has been coming for forty years. It's convenient to Woodbury--just do NOT speed on any of the local roads. Finally, it's a small place. If the lot is full, go somewhere else. The waitstaff won't be able to keep up. read more

The food is just adequate, and the service is the same. The food is over priced for what you get too. The omelets are made with carton eggs! I got the omlet with cheese, bacon and mushrooms. The cheese was a processed cheese product. The bagel was good. The fresh eggs were much better. The kids loved the pancakes. We got our first smile from the waitress after we paid our bill and left a tip. read more

I absolutely LOVE Crossroads Cafe. I never would have even known it was there if a friend had not told me about it. I have to say the exterior is quite drab and does not draw you in, but you are rewarded if you do head in. The reward is GREAT breakfast food fast. Weekends are pretty busy here for breakfast, so if you go with a large group it may be tough to get seats. I have yet to visit during a weekday, but I wil likely take advantage of a great "to go" deal that they have on a sandwich and coffee for $3.50. If you're eating in it's hard to beat "The Scrambler" which is simply a party in your mouth :) and the perfect way to start a Saturday or Sunday. They even have great pastries! The food at this restaurant was lack luster and so was the ambiance (clean but dated). Additionally they are a bit pricey for the portion sizes. My omelette was pretty good but the portion and style of home fries on the side was very disappointing. The service was good. read more

Since Crossroads has come under new ownership I have seen tons of positive changes in both menu and atmosphere. The owners truly care about their patrons and serve up some unique and amazing food. I have a wonderful experience every time I come in. The girls at the counter are delightful and the waitresses are attentive and kind. The kitchen accommodates off-the-menu items as well, which is fantastic for those picky palettes like mine! read more

Used to really like this place. Food and coffee is pretty good. It was the best diner in the area, in my opinion, until the customer service went to crap! Won't be coming again. This was the second consecutive time my husband and i came and the same waitress had a horrible attitude. Never even smiled and made us feel like we were annoying her with our presence. Today's visit was the worse experience I've had at any restaurant with regard to customer service. Tried speaking to the manager but they refused to come speak with us because they were "busy". Good thing there's ihop now, even though I'd prefer spending my money at our local private businesses instead. Oh well. read more

I love coming to this spot. They have great coffee and a very fun selection of pancakes (from fruit to fruity pebbles) and their daily specials are often spot on. They're a "seat yourself" style place and don't have very many tables, but their staff are very friendly and it's overall a great experience. read more

There's a reason it's "Harriman's best kept secret". Everybody that goes there once never talks about it again. Personally, I will never recommend this place to anyone. It took an hour to get a bacon egg and cheese, the coffee taste like hot toilet water and the waitresses are sloppy seconds. read more
