Had not been to the Crossroads for years and thought it would be fun to visit once again. Waiting for several minutes to be seated without a welcome or greeting. The salad was just chopped lettuce & to add onions & tomatoes was an upcharge. The pizza which we remembered as fresh & crispy was not very tasty and not very crispy. The drink was 50% ice & no free refills. The waitress was not friendly & then we heard her use profanity with a patron & complained about her fellow co-worker. Maybe she was having a bad day but she didn't need to ruin ours. Will we go back ? NO! Another good memory crushed! read more

Best cheesesteaks outside of Philly, yum! Wash it down with a small pitcher of draft birch beer and thank your lucky stars for stopping in. Have yet to try any of the other sandwiches or pizza, but there's always a steady crowd coming through. The locals know good food :-) read more

Sadly disappointed. Having grown up in Hellertown I know Crossroads. I was back once after the new owners took over ad I thought everything was reasonably close to what I remember. Went today with my extended family for a traditional Crossroads meal and the pizza was bad. The crust was way too thick and doughy, the sauce was watery and lacked flavor. Even the cheese was flavorless. This was not just my opinion but that of five others who also grew up in Hellertown. I don't know if the new owners are trying to keep costs down or it's just new kitchen staff but the pizza was not very good at all. Say hello to the big fish while you are there and be sure to ask why its there in the first place! They must be doing something right if it can survive in stuffy Hellertown PA! Went for a late lunch today with my mom and sister. Had t been here in twenty years but knew it was under new ownership. So didn't know what to expect. The cheese steaks and pizza were just as I remember. Great!! We were seated quickly by Dee and the service was friendly and timely. Sat in bar area had very pleasant bartender wait on us she was quick to take our drink and food order. Drinks arrived quickly and again she was very pleasant. We both ordered their cheesesteaks and fries. Good arrived quickly and hot. The sandwiches were excellent plenty of meat and cheese and the fries were also good. First visit and definitely not last. I think it's time to put this place onto perspective on Yelp. What it is is a neighborhood place that has a loyal following among locals for a menu that is little changed over decades. The pizza is amply described as "bar pizza" - it's thin, with a unique crust that is most akin to the crispness of frozen pizza, except that it is freshly made dough, daily. It will. It will not appeal to many tastes, particularly those that are comparing it to NY actual/style pizza. It doesn't try to be that product, it is it's own interpretation. The decor is dated, but it is clean. The service is consistent. But again, those that stop here should read the reviews in advance, as it's evident what your getting. For the adventurous, you may not like it, you may not be used to it, but consider it an experience in local/Bethlehem culture. I would never call this the best pizza ever, but it can be a nice change of pace for "something different". I usually sit at the bar, which I think is more festive than the dining room. read more

This place used to be a nice place to eat. Not anymore. Waiting for take out and you hear the new owner yelling at staff. These staff have been around forever and I've never heard the previous owners scream at staff. And the profanity! This used to be a place to take kids - no way ! How horrible. The new owners have run this place to the ground with their behavior. I heard mixed reviews about Crossroads, but I'm a firm believer in making my own opinion so I went to check out the place. I was craving a chicken cheesesteak, and heard great things about their cheesesteaks. I was so disappointed to learn once I arrived they did not offer chicken cheesesteaks. BIG LET DOWN. So I opted for a salad, it was basically just foxy lettuce. I personally would not go back, however if they added chicken cheesesteaks, I'd be more than happy to give it another try. read more

Great to see some of the same staff. Plain pizza was the same and just like the perfect old version, but the topping pizzas were completely different... literally 1/2 the amount of the previous pies.. sad! The food is great, the best steak sandwich in the work. My only objection is to the take out. There are so many little children working there. They eith mess up the order or confuse things so bad. Probably be a good idea to have a few adults working the take out. read more

I can't believe all the negative comments. I think the Cheese steaks are out of this world! Even better than Philly. I don't particularly like pizza, but I've tried a slice or two. I'd eat it if they didn't have the Cheese steak....but why? Yes, decor is very outdated, but that's part of the charm. Old people, family place.... Don't go there if you are looking for a party and lots of noise. Go there if you want the best cheese steak you've ever had...at reasonable prices. read more

Don't waste your time unless you are interested in a trip back to 1972! A business that does not take credit cards in this day and age. I am originally from the area and thought it would be a good place for lunch after some business meetings nearby before my long trip home. The limited menu is the same as it was 40 plus years ago. The food is freezer fare and an excuse to having an actual cook on staff. I had an order of pierogies with my meal and the unique taste of processed potatoes in the filling was almost inedible. Frozen pizza and cheese steaks that are nothing like a real Philadelphia style. I would call this cafeteria food at best. Not at all what I expected given the reputation this establishment enjoys! First of all, I agree with the reviewer who said that you either love this place or hate it. From my perspective, though, there is no finer pizza! Since growing up in the LV I have been wandering the country, but every time I go back to PA I absolutely make sure to have a Crossroads pizza. My wife and I like toppings more than bread, and the Crossroads knows how to get the proportions just right (thin crust, predominant toppings) so if you prefer not to fill up with dough, this is the place for you. However, they will not guarantee quality with more than three toppings (it says so on the menu) because they can't get the thin crust "just right" if they load it up too much. OK so, maybe the decor is tacky and the waitresses are a bit abrupt...fugetabboudit!!! This place has character! We are retiring in a few months and (seriously) we are considering moving to Hellertown so we can ride the senior citizen's shuttle to the Crossroads. See you there! read more
